As expected, the jury heard a dramatic and powerful closing argument from Lindsay Clancy defense attorney Kevin Reddington. Reporters inside the courtroom described both Clancy and several jurors wiping tears from their eyes as Reddington showed pictures of the once happy family that he said was ripped apart because “of the damn medicine and the lousy medical care that she got." Reddington took nearly the full hour to make his final case to jurors, saying the prosecution has manipulated the evidence, and reiterating that Clancy was a “darn good mother” who had no motive to kill her kids. The prosecution began its closing arguments by acknowledging Lindsay Clancy was mentally ill, but pointed out that she had an “abundance of help” and was in a privileged position. Prosecutor Jennifer Sprague told jurors that Clancy lied to health care providers, lied to her husband, friends and family., telling them she was getting better. Sprague at one point, even made a comparison to Andrea Yates, saying Yates tried to commit suicide twice to try and protect her children, until the judge intervened. The prosecution ended by saying Clancy left her children “discarded on the basement floor, like broken toys, because she was done playing the game.”See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Lindsay Clancy Closing Arguments: Reddington Says Prosecutors Faked the Villain

Kevin Reddington spent an hour on his feet trying to undo weeks of testimony, and he didn't do it quietly. In his closing argument in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy — the Duxbury, Massachusetts mother accused of strangling her three children, 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 7-month-old Callan, with exercise resistance bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023 — Reddington told jurors the prosecution built a version of his client that doesn't exist: cold, controlling, calculating, a woman who supposedly hated the kids she's accused of killing. He didn't stop there. Reddington argued prosecutors even tried to wave off Clancy's own suicide attempt — she allegedly jumped from a second-story window afterward and is now paralyzed from the waist down — as somehow not real, not serious. That's a bold argument to make about someone who broke her spine trying to die.The core of his closing came down to burden of proof. Reddington told the jury the state never showed, beyond a reasonable doubt, that Clancy wasn't in the grip of psychosis when her children died. And he went after the state's own experts by name of function, not credentials — claiming one built a career chasing terrorists, another specialized in juvenile offenders, and a third allegedly mixed up schizophrenia with psychosis. If true, that's not a small gap in expertise.Clancy faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation. She's pleaded not guilty, resting her defense on severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication. The case is being heard in Plymouth Superior Court, where jurors now carry the weight of deciding whether a mother accused of the unthinkable understood what she was doing — or understood nothing at all.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? #LindsayClancy #LindsayClancyTrial #TrueCrime #CrimeTalk #courtnews  The Lindsay Clancy murder trial is now in the hands of the jury. After weeks of testimony, prosecutors and the defense delivered sharply different closing arguments over the central question in the case: Was Lindsay Clancy criminally responsible when she killed her three children, or was she suffering from a mental disease or defect that left her legally not responsible? Prosecutors argued the killings were planned, deliberate and carried out by someone who understood that what she was doing was wrong. The defense argued Clancy was suffering from severe postpartum mental illness and psychosis that fundamentally altered her perception of reality. Jurors must now consider first-degree murder, second-degree murder, manslaughter and the issue of criminal responsibility. Scott Reisch breaks down the closing arguments, the legal instructions and the difficult decisions now facing the jury.

FAN MAIL--We would love YOUR feedback--Send us a Text MessageAmerica just hit a milestone that should make all of us pause: 250 years of self-government. We're not doing a victory lap or a doom spiral. We're making a case. Do the principles that built the United States still hold up, and if they do, why does it feel like we're struggling to live them?We walk through three “nuggets” that tie the whole America 250 series together, drawing on Brett Baier's The Case for America along with the bigger story of American history. First, liberty isn't a one-time event. It's something every generation has to choose, protect, and pass down, not only on battlefields but in the way we disagree with each other. Lincoln's call for charity toward all becomes a practical standard: dissent is part of freedom, but fracture is something else, and we have to learn the difference again.Next, we dig into the American economic miracle as a blueprint, not a fluke: freedom that rewards invention, backed by limited government, produces prosperity because ordinary people are empowered to build and try and fail and try again. Finally, we talk about providence and why acknowledging it should shape our posture with humility and gratitude, especially if we believe rights come from God rather than government. We close with the uncomfortable diagnosis: you can't defend what you don't understand, and civic literacy has eroded. If we want another 250 years, we need civics education and a renewed pursuit of virtue. Listen, share with a friend, and leave a review, then tell us what should change first: how we teach civics or how we practice virtue?Key Points from the Episode:• liberty as a generational choice that must be defended  • dissent as evidence of freedom rather than national fracture  • the American economic miracle as a repeatable blueprint  • freedom, invention, and limited government as the core formula  • rights coming from God rather than the state  • providence as gratitude and humility rather than swagger  • civic literacy as a shared practice that has eroded  • virtue as the glue that makes self-government easier in daily life  Be sure to like and subscribe, and check out our substack where we go in depth on more of these topics.  Links

The Larry Millete murder trial in San Diego is now moving toward closing arguments. Prosecutors spent nearly a month laying out their case that May “Maya” Millete did not simply walk away from her life, her children, her job, and her family. They argue that her husband, Larry Millete, killed her after their marriage collapsed, after she sought divorce information, and after he became increasingly desperate to keep control of the relationship. The defense put on a much shorter case, calling only three witnesses in a single day, and focused on reasonable doubt: no body, no confirmed cause of death, no obvious crime scene, K9 searches that did not detect human remains in the home, questions about surveillance coverage, and the possibility that Maya could have left unseen. Let's examine the prosecution's theory, the defense response and key testimony as we look to the closing arguments. #MayaMillete #LarryMillete #MilleteTrial #TrueCrime #TrueCrimeCommunity #ProfilingEvil #MissingPerson #NoBodyCase #SanDiegoCrime #ChulaVista #JusticeForMaya #CrimeAnalysis #CriminalBehavior #DomesticViolenceAwareness #CoerciveControl #CourtroomAnalysis #TrialWatch #ClosingArguments #MurderTrial #TrueCrimePodcast #ArcGIS #Esri #GIS #Mapping #crime========================================20% OFF Newspapers.comhttps://www.newspapers.com/go/podcast/?ref=profilingevil?xid=8877&utm_source=ProfilingEvilPodcast&utm_medium=podcst&utm_campaign=ProfilingEvil26========================================Discounts on eBikes: https://aipasbike.com/?ref=PROFILINGEVILReferral Coupon Code: PROFILINGEVIL========================================Email your questions to: ProfilingEvil@gmail.com========================================

This is it, the final episode! Danny gives us his closing arguments, reflecting on all he's learned about the data center fight in communities across the United States. We listen in on Danny's conversation with prolific author and tech critic Cory Doctorow about the centaur/reverse centaur theory of how we use technology and how technology uses us. And, we take another quick trip to some of the communities we've visited along the way: Data Center Alley in Northern Virginia, Davis, West Virginia, and Memphis, Tennessee, to get the latest on their fights. When it's all said and done, the greatest lesson from the data center clashes may be in the value of agency, and that the way to protect communities from harmful data centers is to ensure that technology serves communities, not the other way around. In this episode, we hear from:Cory Doctorow: Science fiction author, activist and journalist whose recent books include “Enshittification: Why Everything Suddenly Got Worse And What To Do About It” and “The Reverse Centaur's Guide To Life After AI.”Nikki Forrester: Helped launch Tucker United, now serves as the director of communications and spokesperson, lives in Tucker County, WV, and is a journalist. Elena Schlossenberg: Our local tour guide, and deeply involved in grassroots organizing in Prince William County and Loudoun County. She has a deep knowledge of land-use management and serves as the executive director of the Coalition to Protect Prince William County.Amber Sherman: Local policy organizer in Memphis.Delegate John McAuliff: Recently elected Delegate for Fauquier and Loudoun counties in Northern Virginia, flipping the seat by running largely on data center regulation. Samuel Black: Award-winning documentary filmmaker and journalist working with More Perfect Union. He covers tech, labor, energy, finance, housing, and U.S. politics. Resources:Corruption is Driving Up Your Electricity Bill  Cory Doctorow's blog, CraphoundSamuel Black's More Perfect Union coverage from BoxtownLocal coverage from Tucker County about Fundamental Data's visit, and how local leaders reactedThe latest updates from Prince William County about the Data Center Gateway caseA tool tracking every data center moratorium

The Marc Cox Morning Show saved its most urgent hour for last. Marc opened with a blistering breakdown of the SAVE Act fight, rogue Biden-appointed judges blocking election integrity, and Tommy Tuberville's warning that Republican power itself hangs in the balance. Fox News Sunday host Shannon Bream joined live from the steps of the Supreme Court with 12 opinions still pending — birthright citizenship, trans athletes in women's sports, mail-in ballot deadlines — and sounded the alarm on a Democrat Party being rapidly consumed by self-described socialists from New York to Washington D.C. itself. Missouri State Senator Nick Schroer delivered a masterclass on Amendment 5, showing exactly how Missouri can become the next Tennessee — eliminating income tax, slashing property taxes, and putting $5,000 back in the pockets of working families without raising sales taxes to the sky. And Marc closed the week with his final word on voter rolls, the filibuster, and the voter guide dropping tomorrow that every Missouri conservative needs to read before August 4th. Four segments. One mission. Save Missouri. Save America. In anticipation of Disclosure Day, Steven Spielberg’s two most beloved alien films face off in the inaugural Filmspotting Movie Death Match. Representing Close Encounters of the Third Kind is Dr. Margaret A. Weitekamp, Chair of Space History at the National Air and Space Museum. Making the case for E.T. the Extra‑Terrestrial is longtime critic and author Jen Chaney. Host Chris Klimek presides. Which film better captures Spielberg’s vision of alien contact — and his ideas about the nuclear family? Vote at moviedeathmatch.com. Movie Death Match is a new Filmspotting podcast that determines which one of a pair of linked movies — each championed by a passionate and highly credentialed advocate — shall be preserved in perpetuity, and which one shall be lost to history. Through opening statements, formal debate rounds, and closing arguments, a single cinematic judge renders an irreversible verdict. One movie survives. One is erased.
