This was a busy and reveal filled week for figure collectors of multiple lines and I break them down in this action figure focused installment. Hasbro and Target seem to have finally figured out the mystery of stocking the G.I. Joe Classified Series - Assault on Cobra Island figures. And there's reasons for optimism with the line as a whole as more figures appear to be readily available. For those who initially missed out, Hasbro is also revisiting the Rogue One figures from the Star Wars The Black Series line along with a few new additions.

On this episode, we learned a lot. Sometimes in real-time. Like we'll be getting an entire wave of Mandalorian Retro Collection figures. Mattel is doing some pretty cool things at Mattel Creations, including a clear Origins Skeletor. Just wish I would have learned of it sooner. We had heard rumors about the third wave of Classified, but now the trusted source that revealed earlier waves including the Cobra Island exclusives, confirms it will be Lady Jay, Flint, and Major Bludd. Finally, Transformers is doing a 6-pack of Micromasters. Not too exciting right? Well two of them are M.A.S.K. homages. One is of my favorite M.A.S.K. vehicle, the Hurricane. $30 for one Micromaster?

Meanwhile, Destro wears a Speedo on a boat in the Caribbean while Roadblock run from the Feds. And since its 1988 and we are in mad grinder mode, Zartan steps away from the action to open for classic self-titled era Danzig. As usual we talk a bunch of toys, but instead of highlighting a few of them with this post, I really wanted to focus on what has me most excited right now, Attack on Cobra Island. What's Attack on Cobra Island you say? It's an amazing old school 16 bit side scrolling G.I. Joe brawler. It is literally the game that every red blooded 80s G.I. Joe fan should've wanted back in the day. In just a few minutes of playing you can easily tell that it is a labor of love. IP infringing, fangasming love. While I roll with a pretty loose set of ethics when it comes to IP and the fandom, I believe not-for-profit projects like this need to be celebrated.
