"Ich habe hier ganz viele tolle Menschen getroffen, die viel Energie und Passion mitbringen, die sich aber selber gängeln oder gegängelt fühlen - und da habe ich mir gedacht: Dieses Potential und diese Energie, die da schlummert, die möchte ich wecken". Das erzählt Theres Kolell, Commercial Sales Manager bei Siemens Energy.  Sie beschäftigt sich mit New Work und ist fasziniert von Organisationen, in denen Menschen anders zusammenarbeiten und kommunizieren. In Dänemark erfährt sie bei Siemens Windpower, einem jungen Unternehmens-Bereich, wieviel Freiraum Mitarbeiter für eigene Entscheidungen haben - und eigene Entscheidungen auch erwartet werden. Und sie fragt sich, wie sie diese Impulse in ihre Organisation einbringen kann. Ihr Mitstreiter und Kollege ist Mathes Schulz, im echten Leben steht "Strategic Business Development" auf seiner Visitenkarte. Mathes kommt, wie er sagt "aus der technischen Ecke". Digitalisierung und IT sind auch privat sein Thema, und er hat sich entschlossen, diese Interesse auch in seinem Berufsumfeld nutzbar zu machen. Sein Anliegen: Digitale Werkzeuge sinnvoller nutzen, um besser zusammenzuarbeiten. Und so hat er, während er damals noch an den größten Maschinen der Welt als Abnahme-Ingenieur arbeitet, sich für die Nutzung der kleinsten Maschinen eingesetzt, Mikroprozessoren und Software, dem Toolset am digitalen Arbeitsplatz. Selber wollte er dazu lernen, und das Ziel war es, seinen Kollegen auch Lust auf das Lernen und Anwenden neuer Werkzeuge zu machen. Gemeinsam entsteht die Idee, eine Art von Zusammenarbeit in der Organisation zu fördern, Mitstreiter zu gewinnen, Impulse zu setzen. Sie nennen sich die Culture Hacker, und sie beginnen einen Kreis von Mitstreitern um sich zu scharen. Sie nutzen das Social Intranet und laden Menschen ein, mitzumachen. Mit "Weekly Posts" macht Mathes auf das Thema aufmerksam. Damit gewinnt er nicht nur neue Mitstreiter, sondern sie zeigen auch, dass das interne soziale Netzwerk wirklich einen sinnvollen Anwendungsfall hat: Eine Community aufzubauen. Und so beginnen sie unter anderem, IT Sessions anzubieten, obwohl sie nicht einmal von der IT sind. "Wir haben gefragt: Wollt Ihr mehr von unseren Tools lernen? Dann kommt in diesen Raum!" erzählt Mathes. Immer mehr Menschen kommen zusammen, die nicht nur über digitale Tools nachdenken wollten, sondern über andere Arten der Zusammenarbeit, Kommunikation und Entscheidung zu sprechen. Und damit ging es dann wirklich um Culture Hacking. "Culture Hacking in dem Sinn, die Organisation zu stören, nicht zu zerstören, kleine Impulse setzen und damit das System von innen heraus zu reformieren", erzählt Theres. Haben die Chefs am Anfang davon gewusst? "Ich habs meinem Chef erstmal nicht erzählt", erzählen die beiden. Sie legen los, ohne Mandat, in der festen Überzeugung, dass es keinen Auftrag braucht, die eigene Firma besser zu machen. "Wir haben das Thema als U-Boot begonnen", sagt Matthes. "Wir wollen die Leute um uns besser vernetzen". Sie schauen sich auch ausserhalb des eigenen Unternehmens um. Nehmen sich Urlaub und fahren auf eigene Kosten zum Augenhöhe Camp nach Berlin . Dort lernen sie andere Meetingstrukturen kennen, nehmen die Idee gleich mit, und versuchen diese, bei sich zu etablieren. Spätestens jetzt werden sie sichtbar, treten nach außen auf. Sie greifen viel auf, was schon da ist, tauschen sich mit den Siemens Grains aus, diskutieren das Thema "Du" und "Sie" und lernen einfach viel von anderen.
