Siamo was founded in the traditional way - two people meeting at happy hour to scribble workplace improvement ideas on a napkin. Founders Cristina Amigoni and Alex Cullimore connected over a mutual desire to make work more human and treat humans like humans. Both from a traditional consulting background, Cristina and Alex discovered a passion for coaching through professional coach training and realized the potential of blending coaching and consulting approaches. Combining the improvement mindset of consulting with a love for uncovering the authentic potential of people and organizations, Siamo emerged to guide leaders to uplift their organizational cultures and infuse human-centric practices into the workplace.Support the showFollow The Artful Podcast for personal and professional development strategies.

Recently, the cast and crew of the film Almost Famous got together and recorded a podcast for their 20-anniversary reunion. My friend Angela posted about it and I mentioned that it had made a massive impact on my life. She said that I should think about sharing the story on this show. This week's solo episode is that story. I talk about my early days as a DJ and the impact music has had on my life, the dark moment that obliterated my naivety and showed me that not everyone will support you, no matter how well-intentioned you are, and how a movie about a band on the rise and headed for implosion could change the course of my life forever. I talk about the documentary, “13th” by Ava DuVernay and its effect on me — by the way, I highly recommend watching it. I share my thoughts about the anger and violence I've been seeing in the news and in my Twitter feed. I also speak to the amazingly powerful things I'm seeing like “Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man” with Emmanuel Acho and S05 of Queer Eye with the Fab 5 and how these are some of the role models that I believe are pivotal in this work towards finding our way forward as we stand together for change as peaceful warriors.Support the show (https://theartful.co/donate)
During this week of unrest and revolution, I have chosen to listen to the stories of our brothers and sisters and look at ways to support the cause of justice and equity for people of color, specifically Black people who have been oppressed for 500-hundred years. However, I still want to honor my commitment to support you as artists. So, I cut this week's solo episode from a recent mastermind I led where I shared two pivotal exercises from Pat Flynn's book, “Will It Fly?” that I've been reading. I've been using this time as we are sheltering-in-place to look within for guidance as I move forward in life and in business. They've been extremely helpful for me on my journey and I believe they can help you too, especially now as the hierarchy of our priorities evolve. In my last solo episode about fear, I referenced that it's not about tomorrow but how you show up today. In this episode, I share how looking at where you've been and where you want to be can help you connect the dots to create the life you want for yourself — a life that is drawn and not traced. One of my goals is to help you to live that kind of life and I hope these exercises help shed light on how you can attain that.Support the show (https://theartful.co/donate)
