En la madrugada de este 10 de mayo finalizó en Colombia el paro armado decretado por el cartel del Clan del Golfo. En plena campaña para las presidenciales del próximo 29 de mayo, la oposición acusa al Gobierno de haber permitido la violencia paramilitar en zonas favorables al izquierdista Gustavo Petro, y con ello de desmovilizar al electorado. La semana pasada, la extradición de Dairo Antonio Úsuga, alias "Otoniel", desató una represalia inmediata por parte de su organización armada el Clan del Golfo, que decretó entonces "cuatro días de paro armado". Permisividad La captura de Otoniel llegó a ser comparada por el presidente Iván Duque con la caída del mismísimo Pablo Escobar. Pero lo cierto es que este cartel desafía hoy al Gobierno colombiano y ha paralizado el país a escasas tres semanas de las elecciones presidenciales.  A pesar de los esfuerzos del Ministerio de Defensa movilizando hasta 52.000 efectivos en los últimos días, los diferentes partidos de la oposición acusan a Duque desde haber fracasado en su política, hasta ser permisivo con el terror paramilitar. Consuelo Ahumada es doctora en Ciencias Políticas, y ex candidata al Senado de la coalición Pacto Histórico, la lista que lidera todas las encuestas. En declaraciones a RFI, asegura que la desmovilización de estos días podría trasladarse a las urnas el próximo 29 de mayo: “En el fondo también lo que vemos es una campaña de intimidación a la población muy fuerte, en una zona que es muy favorable para el candidato Gustavo Petro y el Pacto Histórico”, lamenta. Arbitrariedad La oposición denuncia también una supuesta inanición del gobierno, en comparación con la represión en las manifestaciones universitarias. E incluso, arbitrariedades en el paro: “Lo que llama la atención es que las grandes superficies, muy ligadas a las políticas del gobierno, pudieron funcionar sin problema”, mientras los pequeños comerciantes no, recalca Ahumada. El gobierno de Colombia había anunciado durante el fin de semana la captura del narcotraficante más buscado del país, Dairo Antonio Úsuga (alias 'Otoniel'), por quien Estados Unidos ofrecía una recompensa de cinco millones de dólares.

En entrevista con SEMANA, el sacerdote de Chigorodó Weimar Orrego, narra los años de miedo que vivió la población del Urabá antioqueño, por cuenta de los crímenes cometidos por Dairo Antonio Úsuga, alias Otoniel, jefe del Clan del Golfo.

Hoy en Día a Día, comenzamos conversando con Luis Montes, analista político y estratega demócrata, sobre las discrepancias en el plan de asistencia social y protección ambiental de Joe Biden: “En el Senado hay que convencer básicamente a todos los demócratas, y en esto se incluyen al senador Manchin y a la senadora de Arizona… Esto debe ir más allá de una legislación de infraestructura tradicional, y por eso también se están destinando fondos para combatir muchos problemas estructurales sociales”, dijo. El economista y especialista en finanzas internacionales, Leonardo Buniak, nos habló sobre el aumento en la gasolina subsidiada en Venezuela: “Este incremento del 1900% tiene que ver con la escasez y dificultad para producir combustible y la reforma monetaria”, explicó. Buniak expuso: “Ahora quedaría un tanque de 40 litros en Bs. 4. Pero el venezolano gana aproximadamente Bs. 10, por lo que el 40% de su sueldo se iría en gasolina… Cientos de venezolanos no van a poder pagar el combustible”. Desde Guayaquil nos atendió la periodista de Diario Expreso, Emilia Sánchez, con quien conversamos sobre el presunto suicidio de siete reos en la Cárcel Número 1 de Guayaquil: “Las autoridades todavía están determinando si los hicieron suicidarse o si fueron asesinados”, expuso, y destacó: “Este viernes se cumple un mes del estado de excepción en las cárceles, y todavía se siguen viendo estas muertes en los centros de reclusión”. El sargento Arli Méndez Terán fue condenado a 23 años de prisión por el asesinato del joven David Vallenilla en las protestas del 2017. Sobre el tema, conversamos con David Vallenilla, padre del joven asesinado: “El autor material de la muerte de mi hijo está condenado, pero él en el juicio dijo que había recibido órdenes superiores e identificó nombres de esos superiores”, dijo. El señor Vallenilla comentó: “Como ahora viene la visita del fiscal de la CPI a Venezuela, seguramente van a utilizar de bandera el caso de mi hijo para decir que hay justicia”. Y para cerrar, conversamos con Timothy Lytton, profesor de Derecho y especialista en control de armas, sobre el caso de la directora de fotografía Halyna Hutchins: “Parece que no hay evidencia de asesinato, pero podría existir la posibilidad de carga de homicidio involuntario si hay negligencia grave… Se decía que había problemas con la seguridad de las armas en la producción y que la encargada de las armas en el escenario no tenía mucha experiencia”, comentó.
