I'm back! On this episode I'm diving into my thoughts on breaks, burnouts, creativity, self-talk, self-worth & we somehow wind our way to our inner child. I love this episode because it's honest, open and realtime with my best friend Engrid Latina (the co-host of our podcast: Gal Pal's) We Talk About: Why & how I took a break from my work this summer How our self care conversation can be shallow How social media impacts our thoughts & feelings Understanding how am I really doing? How social media creates relationships & connections with people we follow Practical ways to set social media boundaries How you can sense people's intentions online Getting detached from the outcome Creativity & how it impacts our mindset, work and productivity How burnout zaps energy and creativity How creativity & body image feel similar Our feelings and perception shaping our experience - why awareness is key Learning to ask yourself “what's really going on?” Compassion never hurt anyone Empathy and feeling your feelings doesn't make you a victim Having compassion for the shadow side of yourself Connect with Me Online: The Joy Squad Facebook Group: facebook.com/groups/thejoysquad/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/georgiemorley/ Blog: http://init4thelongrun.com/ Connect with Engrid Livengproof Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/liveng-proof-podcast/id1155709043 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/livengproof/ Gal Pals Podcast https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/gal-pals/id1465664059

This is a VERY special episode because it is the recording of my very first ever LIVE podcast episode! Which has been a dream of mine for years and I’m still shook that it actually happened. I had the honor of hosting it alongside two of my favorite women here in my community: Kat Beck & Dr. Sarah Cohen. It’s an hour of serious courage and truth telling. I was just beside myself to be sitting in the presence of these two women as they shared their personal experiences that lead them to where they are today and why we are each so passionate about inviting others to reclaim their power. FRIENDLY DISCLAIMER: Sensitive topics are discussed in this episode and you may be triggered. Should this happen, please do whatever you need to do to take care of yourself. IN THIS EPISODE WE DISCUSS: Each of our personal stories that lead us to be passionate about helping others reclaim their power How the culture as a whole centers around disempowerment Being ordinary and “fitting in” is energy neutral and in this state we are never really connecting to our souls higher purpose and mission Modalities that disconnect us from […] The post LPP #119 Reclaiming Your Power & Reconnecting To Your Intuition with Engrid Latina, Kat Beck, & Dr. Sarah Cohen appeared first on Liveng Proof.

In this episode I’m sharing for the first time about my experience with Al-Anon. I have been wanting to share about this for quite some time, but wasn’t ready until now. I sat down with my good friend Kat Beck and this conversation just flowed. THIS EPISODE IS GREAT FOR ANYONE WHO: Feels like your life have been affected by someone else’s drinking Has difficulty setting boundaries Tends to focus on others before themselves Struggles to say how they are really feeling Feels like your life is unmanageable IN THIS EPISODE WE DISCUSS: How I picked a sponsor & what that process has looked like for me Discovering the healing power of a group & the power of vulnerability in this kind of setting The affirmations and support I’ve received for sharing my suffering and being vulnerable How for so long I didn’t realize: I don’t need to suffer alone Differentiating between separating myself as a form of self-care versus when I’m isolating out of fear I share how crying to me was the most vulnerable form of self-expression How we can dissociate from our emotions, but that doesn’t mean they go away Sorrow and Joy are opposite sides of […] The post LPP #86 What I Haven’t Told You Yet, Accessing Your Higher Power, & Healing In Community with Engrid Latina & Kat Beck appeared first on Liveng Proof.
Today I am coming to you solo in this Q+A-Monologue-Deep-Dive. I’m unpacking a TON in this episode. IN THIS EPISODE: The story of how I started my business and became a personal trainer. How do you balance marriage and friendships, while still honoring time for yourself? The importance of maintaining your own identity in any relationship and how to be a supportive partner. Craving genuine friendship, yet when people reach out IRL I pull away, what’s your advice? Shifting our perspective in choosing how we pay attention and the quality of our life. Tips for feeling empowered and accepting feeling just OK (Not particularly happy or depressed)? My advice on how to persevere through recovery when you want to revert back to eating disorder habits. Can I be difficult for you to share certain details of your recovery at times? Eating Disorder Recovery & Carving Your Own Empowered Path in Wellness - with Engrid Latina This week I'm chatting with my amazing friend Engrid. I'm so grateful that the universe brought us together. From our first conversation, I felt like we connected on a soul sister kinda level and I'm so excited to see how both our paths unfold. This conversation feels intimate and deep and winding in such a wonderful way. We talk about her experience with an eating disorder and how she found her way out. We also discuss working in an industry that's shrouded in diet culture and trying to break the mold by carving out your own path. We Talk About: Engrid's background Her story with anorexia The root of how the eating disorder manifested The non-linear path of recovering How she became a personal trainer How training and fitness was a slow stepping stone forward in recovery Slow progress is still progress The power and importance of therapy The guilt that comes with realizing that you may have contributed to diet culture in the past - even if it's not what you believe now Why it's important not to demonize communities Why you can't recover for someone else Navigating being a personal trainer that doesn't focus on weight loss in an industry steeped in diet culture The fear we have of our bodies changing Desires for appearance always boil down to seeking love Why we don't want to be a gurus Connect with Engrid: On her podcast: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/liveng-proof-podcast/id1155709043?mt=2 On her website: http://livengproof.com/ On her instagram: https://www.instagram.com/livengproof/
Hey Pod Squad! In today’s minisode I’m sharing ALL about my most recent experience of overcoming fear! This past weekend I lead a workout at Lululemon here in Greenville. And in full disclosure there were SO many times I wanted to reschedule the event, or not even do it altogether????????♀️???? Literally wanted to curl up in a ball and hide…all out of FEAR.???? Fear of not doing a good job. That people would leave disappointed. Fear of not looking the part….But none of that happened! It actually turned out AMAZING✨ And I’m proud to say that I faced these fears (thanks to lots of encouragement from my husband Michael , some confidence-boosting mantras, and power poses). I stood in front of the room. All eyes on me. I had them set an intention and then I lead them through a workout. And as i did my focus shifted. And I realized how much courage it took for every person who decided to be there. To show up.???? Slowly all those fears started to melt away as I began moving. I found my voice. I began connecting with the the room, with the people. I know it may sound clique but I was […] The post LPP #48.5 Facing Fear, Power Posing, & Letting Go of Expectations with Engrid Latina appeared first on Liveng Proof.

In this minisode I’m sharing an excerpt from my conversation with Julie Accetta, my guest from episode 45...where Julie turned the tables and started asking ME questions. I have to say thank you again to Julie because I’ve been wanting to do a Q+A style episode for a while, after receiving requests from y’all to do so, but wasn’t sure how I wanted to to go about it. Hi Pod Squad! Today’s episode is a short and sweet MINI-sode. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by growing busier then this is the episode for you! I’m talking about planning overwhelm and identifying things that trigger you…and then getting curious about it! I think it’s important to be aware of why we feel a certain way because it acts as a clue to get to the root of what’s really going on

Hey Podsquad! Today’s episode is a little different. In this short episode I’m sharing my thoughts on how we can recreate past traumas in our present life, situations that may keep us stuck & don’t serve us. Just some food for thought as you head into the weekend
