How often are we self sabotaging? Today’s guest, Georgia Morely, shares her journey to discover all the ways she was subconsciously limiting her growth through self sabotage and past beliefs. This journey took years as Georgie began to slowly weed out what no longer served her and then plant the seeds for what did. This meant leaving behind old careers, hobbies, and interests to find what serves her in the here and now. Through her online platforms and co-hosted podcast, Georgie shares about the life lessons she’s learned as well as what’s currently supporting her. Whether that be beautiful photography, captivating words, or affirmations, her work is meant to spread happiness, awareness, and overall, joy. My guest today is Georgie Morley, a coffee-loving creative and photographer, the host of the Chasing Joy Podcast, and the caring human behind her platform that inspires joy and personal growth through compassion and self-discovery. She loves to share tips, tools and lessons learned all inspired by her own path towards personal growth, wellness, and spirituality. And coffee. Georgie to coffee is me to plants. She lives in my favorite place on earth, Nantucket, the 14 x 5 miles long island, exactly 30 miles out to sea off the coast of Cape Cod. You know when you’re doing a meditation and you’re told to close your eyes and envision your happy place? Mine has been Nantucket since I started going there in the womb. I love that place so much it genuinely makes me cry thinking about, which I do on a honest to god daily basis. So Georgie’s there, and I feel like her Nantucket-essence just radiates out for us all to catch glorious whifs of. We’ve known one another through the interwebs for half a decade but haven’t really deeply connected until I was on her podcast last month and now when we did this flip the mic a doodle do in one of my new fun types of episodes called LAUGH WITH YOUR MOUTH FULL. At the time of this recording I was eating some of my matcha mint chocolate chip date balls from page 275 of my BOOK WHICH IS OUT NOW FOR YOU TO BUY, and Georgie was of course, sipping on coffee which she told me after she drank black and used a v60 or chemex to make it? No clue what that means since I don’t drink coffee even though I was a barista for a whole summer ON NANTUCKET but if you need info on college look up @georgiemorley because she is the coffee pro. Press play to hear: How to lean in to what’s easy for you How to embrace your talents instead of running from success Lessons from the pandemic How to stop cock-blocking yourself in business and creative goals Why self discovery will make your life so much easier Notes on crying in the car Self care tools and advice for depression sufferers The deal on coffee, cafe culture and why both are so great Why we should try to achieve goals without even telling anyone! The Gift I Didn't Ask For (Presence) On this Episode I Dive Into: The light and dark side of believing that the future is always better How that helped with my depression Tools are not good or bad - it's how we use them Why I'm slowing down my future tripping tendencies Savoring small things Focusing on our senses My tendency for always wanting more Learning to enjoy less Learning to savor little things Reflection Questions: Can we let go of always thinking we should be somewhere else? In this episode I welcome Georgie Morley as the first official guest on the podcast. Georgie is a coffee-loving creator of her blog, georgiemorley.com, and the Chasing Joy Podcast, an online platform that inspires joy and personal growth through compassion and self-discovery. I first met Georgie a few years ago at an event Franklin & Whitman was sponsoring. Over the years we’ve grown closer, she’s been a part of several of Franklin & Whitman’s charity events, and, last year, I was lucky enough to be a guest on her podcast. Instead of recording it remotely, I flew up to Nantucket and spent time with her, her awesome husband Chris, and her amazing family. In this episode we start out talking about how Georgie went from working in marketing for a large beverage company to making the leap to bet on herself and create her own brand. As our conversation grows more personal, we pivot to a deeper level talking about her ongoing battle with depression and how she brings a layer of compassion and awareness around mental health to all her work. When I came up with the idea of this podcast I remember saying to myself “someday I hope Georgie will be a guest on it” and now she’s the first guest. In the episode I learned a ton about Georgie and also a ton about what it means to host a podcast. I hope you enjoy our conversation, I know I did!Connect with Georgie:Georgie's Blog: http://georgiemorley.com/Georgie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/georgiemorley/Chasing Joy Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-chasing-joy-podcast/id1200321568Gal Pals Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/gal-pals/id1465664059

On this episode, I share my own personal experience with healing my relationship with exercise. I share how I went from a normal, pretty active kid to someone who was obsessed with calories and going to the gym. I share how exercise played a role in my eating disorder and how that role morphed over the years. Finally, I share how taking a break from regular exercise in conjunction with intuitive eating helped me reassess the role that working out really played in my life. I finally share the role that intuitive movement plays for me now, and why it's all about joy and mental health. This week I’m sharing a conversation I had with health/wellness blogger and influencer Georgie Morley. I first discovered her photography of Nantucket (a beautiful island off the coast of Massachusetts) on instagram and was always curious how she built her blog and turned her journey into her career. So I reached out and Georgie was incredibly generous with her time for this interview. In this conversation (which we conducted over Zoom) we talk about how she started her blog and grew a following without being in a big city, how to work with brands and run your blog like a business, getting comfortable sharing your story, the art of selfie photography and much much more. You can follow Georgie on Instagram at @georgiemorley and @greyladygirl or check out her blog at InIt4TheLongRun.com

Today I’m chatting with fellow fitness trainer Jasmine Cruz. I first met her in Nantucket, while visiting my gal pal Georgie Morley (who y’all may remember from episode #73 and #53 here on the pod). I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Jasmine and I hold very similar values when it comes to our approach to training (which is RARE!). Looking back, I was so caught up in my ego when I first began training. I was desperate to prove my worth to clients. Frantic to justify, with measurable data, that I could help people lose the inches and pounds. Fitness was a way to help someone achieve satisfaction with their appearance (a fleeting and never-ending goal). And while the road was paved with good intentions, I didn’t have the capacity to train outside of this mindset. Fortunately, I’ve grown so much since that time, and my approach to training has shifted drastically. So you can imagine my delight when I met Jasmine who shares a similar story. IN THIS EPISODE WE DISCUSS: Her journey to becoming woke as a personal trainer Her approach to training now vs. in the past The turning point that caused her to shift the way she […] The post LPP #76 Conscious Movement, Honoring Your Values, and Looking The Part with Jasmine Cruz appeared first on Liveng Proof.

In this episode I’m chatting with my gal pal Georgie, host of the Chasing Joy Podcast . Together we unpack the idea of: feeling like you’re too much for others. If you’ve been told you’re: Too emotional. Being dramatic. overreacting . Too into something. You cry too easily or too often. You’re being extra. Then you’ll be able to relate to this episode. We also address the flip side of what’s really going on when YOU experience someone as “being too much”. As well as the fear that comes with not speaking our truth because we don’t know if our feelings will be reciprocated. I really hope you guys enjoy this conversation it was so much fun to record it with Georgie if you’d like to hear more episodes like this let me know. That’s right! This recording is a bonus episode released in addition to the weekly Friday podcast. This is the recording from the live podcast event that Meg & Victoria hosted with Georgie Morley in St Petersburg, Florida. It was such a great event and it was such a amazing conversation that they wanted to release it for everyone to listen in. The topic of the conversation was intuitive eating. All three women are supremely passionate about this topic as they have seen- both personally and professionally, it’s ability to transform one’s relationship with food, their body, and ultimately their lives. Topics covered include: Why diet’s don’t work- and what the deeper issue is here (hint: why do we feel like we need to loose weight in the first place?!) The principles of intuitive eating and the caveats when you are recovering from disordered eating. How to begin the process of intuitive eating. Indicators of wellness that have nothing to do with our weight. How to being listening to our bodies and become more in-tune with their needs. How intuitive eating can promote positive changes in other areas of our lives. How to prioritize different factors of wellness such as sleep, movement, stress, etc. …. and more!
Ep. 39 - Georgie Morley, Victoria, and Meg cover a lot of ground in this episode!
