Trance Mission “The Final Cut Pt.1” (Let Go) Fusion of (mostly) current higher bpm Trance and Progressive house. Set was originally 02:30:00 hours, thought I would spare you the massive data charge and cut it in two parts. Mostly Trance I have never used before meshed with a few of my classics. Are you ready for it? Most probably not! I hesitate to call it Trance as it is meant to be fusing Trance and House into Trouse. Yet, the set is well within the Trance realm going from 122 bpm to 134 riding that emotional wave up and down, with highs and lows, builds and drops, bridges and precipices… as a journey into Trance should be. There is nothing harder (at least for me) than to mix a decent Trance set. The bpm range mostly disallow beat synch and every track needs to be worked and properly cued. Furthermore, it needs a structure and needs length to cover all the emotions of a good trance roller coaster. Finally, finding good, non-insipidly commercial Trance requires a lot of crate digging if ones wishes not to repeat every time the same classics. Anthems as they may be, they also need a rest! Anyhow, here we are, possibly the last chapters of the Trance Mission. It is a very post-produced set. There was hardly anything live about it! I do hope you will enjoy it and Spotify the new tracks or, here is a novel idea, actually BUY THEM!   One warning. I get a lot of comments, both positive and negative on the accapellas add-ins. This being said was quite proud of myself with the mashup, hence the Larse remix drop. “Angel on My Shoulder” and “Waves of Change” two of my progressive trance faves and there had to be a couple! “Hold That Sucker Down”, from the aforementioned Jerome Isma-Ae. Pure Trance/Prog big pad anthem, edited and as far as I am concerned, the perfect track to both close the set, bring you up, give you the tingles and goose bumps and define what Trouse is for me. Let’s Play!   A bit of background:   Location: household, Melbourne, Australia. Date: 19-09-15 first day of mid-term holidays. Temper Gauge: immediate risk of major family breakdown!   First day of holidays and tempers were at breaking point! Kids complaining they were bored, Spouse close to losing it having to pick up everyone’s mess lying around, pleading for help and getting blank hostile gazes as only responses... I propose to put some music on.. The communal answer I get is: “You haven’t done anything fun for aaaages “.. Daggers straight to my parental, spouse and music lover heart!   I rig up the full DJ set-up, connect the lasers and lights, pump up the volume and start playing something I had half put together during my travels..   Having in mind that they wanted something new but not just new, that they NEEDED something fun and uplifting, sing-a-long and dance-a-long tunes, I shifted to trusted classics of 2007/2009, chose those uplifting progressive trance keys which induce wellness and movement, span and watched…   Devices were slowly put down, lips started humming and eventually singing and when I saw my wife’s hands starting to move to the music I knew I had them on the correct path of unplugging from their chores,  IPhones, IPads and IMacs to just PLAY and enjoy the moment.   They were hearing tracks they knew and some they didn’t. I have written it previously and will repeat that is it most probably the best progressive track of the year. AnjunaDeep and Chicane on the re-rub. I had a bit of a play on the fly with the Anjuna keys on top of the amazing Chicane remix, worked a treat on the intro but shifted a bit on the next break. Pity about that but DO NOT MISS the Chicane remix, it is pure bliss!   Deadmau5 “Finished Symphony”: dropped it for the kids, added the Candi Staton dub on top and it worked!!! I could see they knew what they were listening to in the background and one day I will actually use this setup live to get into the Larse remix on this amazing tune. Can’t wait to see how vintage clubbers would react!   Not writing anything on the Kaskade and Chicane jams, dropped them because the family loves them and what I had on the original playlist was too hard for my purpose.   From there I wanted to shift back to current tunes. The Fehrplay tune bridged the set towards Avicii’s take on Faithless’ Insomnia to peak into Tranceland.. God is a DJ indeed J.   From there had to bring it down, with lo and behold my first EVER Calvin Harris drop, his new single “How Deep is Your Love”. Mashed up the two main remixes to give a bit of extra flavour and quietly daydreamed of Gigi Haddid moves... Not that I do not like the Calvin but obviously we are not connecting that much. My kids absolutely loved it, Viv thought it sounded a bit R&B but she was still smiling!   Wrapped it up with the Darone’s remix of “Over Now”, maybe pushing it to an overly commercial closing but they were all humming the main chorus, so mission accomplished.   I have a few sets tucked away I really should upload and therefore will be back in true house mode very shortly.   Hope I bring a smile to your faces and Let’s Play!   A bientot   Xtian
