Psalm 1381 I give you thanks, O Lord, with my whole heart; before the gods I sing your praise;2 I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word.3 On the day I called, you answered me; my strength of soul you increased.4 All the kings of the earth shall give you thanks, O Lord, for they have heard the words of your mouth,5 and they shall sing of the ways of the Lord, for great is the glory of the Lord.6 For though the Lord is high, he regards the lowly, but the haughty he knows from afar.7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life;you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me.8 The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.

Super excited to announce new guest, Dave Gates, to The Story! In July of 2018, Dave's journey towards a career as a professional musician began when a homeless man gifted him a guitar outside of an auto parts store. He practiced for hours every day and became a regular attendee of local open mics.In November of 2018, Dave's good friend and fellow musician, Wally DeWall, fell ill and asked him to cover a performance. He was further supported by his friends in the band Adrian Blitzer when they allowed him to open for their performance in December 2018.The rest, as they say, is history.Dave has performed over 600 shows since 2018, sharing the same stage with bands such as Lit, observe the 93rd, the Amish Outlaws and many more. The company Museum Hack, founded by Nick Gray, was at one point a promising new startup. It helped reinvent and reinvigorate a stale museum experience. It lured people out of their homes, away from their screens, and into groups of people. There, connection happened. Learning. Inspiration. And another concept, pulled from Dutch culture, known as "gezellig." As I re-air this story, we're in the midst of the pandemic. (Again? Still?) The Delta variant is raging. People are making foolish, selfish decisions about the vaccine, prolonging this difficult time and harming people near them who continue to get sick or even die because of those choices. It's time to remind ourselves of what it can feel like when we're together, not apart, both for nostalgia but also to stir up some hope for the future. As creators, we have a role to play in making this world better -- whether through companies we build or projects we ship. We can't lose sight of that. We can provide connection in a world in desperate need of more.* * *TO GET MORE INSPIRATION + SUPPORT THE SHOW:Subscribe to my newsletter:Equal parts human story and pep talk, my weekly newsletter is focused on inspiring us to make what matters to our careers and communities. Label: Sam 5025Year: 1982Condition: MPrice: $50.00From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy. According to Joel Whitburn, Komiko was a studio group put together by Gary Turner of Gary's Gang fame. This is a striking Techno/Disco number that's hard to find and in great demand. Check out the mp3 "snippet" to hear why! The B side is an instrumental version. Collector Nerd Alert: The guy who did the mastering signed his name in the "dead wax" at the end of the track. There was no album, but the 12-inch release has a 7:30 version and a shorter version that's still much longer than this specially edited one. Note: This beautiful 45 record has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio).

An opening to how our central principle of Oneness calls us together in a state of diversity and how the fact of Inclusion helps us live out this Oneness. Oneness does not equal sameness. Unity does not mean uniformity.Affirmation: I am one with Divine Intelligence, empowered by It, as a point of creative power. As such, I claim harmony, acceptance, love for All through inclusion of the diversity that delights my life.
VINCE MELOUNEY SECT "Women (Make You Feel Alright)" Burger Records (2020) “Women (Make You Feel Alright)” is the new digital single by Australian guitarist Vince Melouney who was a member of The Bee Gees during the band's initial wave of worldwide popularity from 1967 to 1969. “Women” was originally recorded by Vince’s mates The Easybeats in 1966. Vince’s version was recorded earlier this year with legendary producer Shel Talmy whose credits include The Easybeats’ “Friday On My Mind” in addition to classic tracks by The Kinks, The Who, The Creation and others. “Women” features Vince on vocal and lead guitar, joined by Clem Burke of Blondie on drums, Jonathan Lea of The Jigsaw Seen on additional guitars, Alec Palao on bass and Paul Kopf on backing vocals. Alec and Paul are members of the San Francisco-based band Strangers In A Strange Land and also play in the current version of veteran Garage Rock band The Seeds. As a member of The Bee Gees, Vince appeared on seven US Top 20 singles; "New York Mining Disaster 1941," "To Love Somebody," "Holiday," "Massachusetts," "Words," "I've Gotta Get A Message To You" and "I Started A Joke" plus five US Top 20 albums; "Bee Gees' First," "Horizontal," "Idea,” “Odessa” and “Best Of Bee Gees.” Vince's television appearances with The Bee Gees include "The Ed Sullivan Show," "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour" and "Rowan & Martin's Laugh- In" in the US, "Top Of The Pops" in the UK and "Beat Club" in Germany. Vince appears in The Bee Gees' forthcoming official documentary produced by Frank Marshall ("Raiders Of The Lost Ark," "Back To The Future") and Nigel Sinclair ("The Beatles: Eight Days A Week," "George Harrison: Living In The Material World.") This film will be released by Universal Music Group later this year. Released by Burger Records, “Women” is now available at digital music stores and streaming services.

Singer-songwriter Thomas Strayhorn joins us this episode to learn a lot about livin’ and a little ‘bout Alan Jackson. We marvel at Alan Jackson’s ability to water ski and savor our own grape snow cones from Durham joint Pelican’s Snoballs. In spite of Thomas picking the cheery “I Feel Alright” by Steve Earle, we discover through a discussion about the Dixie Chicks that he’s actually really into sad and sappy tunes, just like Spencer. To wrap up the episode, Spencer teaches us something about Natalie Imbruglia that the good people of Twitter knew years ago. Rachel's pick: Chattahoochee by Alan Jackson, 1992 Thomas' pick: Feel Alright by Steve Earle, 1996 Spencer's pick: Once You've Loved Somebody by The Dixie Chicks, 1998 Check out Thomas' music and tour dates at https://www.thomasstrayhorn.com/

D’Moov is Doruk Ozlen, Miami based Dj/Producer. Originally from Istanbul, Turkey https://soundcloud.com/dorukozlen https://www.facebook.com/dorukozlen “In Praise of the Sun” perfect chilled out number I had to download from the dark web, as unavailable on any legal download site.Mr. Joshua is a Brian Higgins and Nick Coler project. They collaborated with Vanessa Quiñones and Nick Bracegirdle aka Chicane on "In Praise Of The Sun/Toujours Le Soleil" and produced a couple tracks for Saint Etienne on Finisterre. https://www.discogs.com/artist/44870-Mr-Joshua “Make Your Move” from Croatia Squad. Had to have a Croatian track in there. It's the art of sensitive noise, subtle sounds and beats in order to make it a musical experience for every listener. 'Croatia Squad' is some of Switzerland's most wanted and respected deep house and nu disco producer. https://soundcloud.com/croatiasquad https://www.facebook.com/CroatiaSquad “Feel Alright”, Tony S, a prolific and established producer within the Deep House scene, steps forward to make his debut with SuperDuperSoul with this laid back groove entitled 'Feel Alright'. On remix duties, the ever-talented Ross Couch. https://soundcloud.com/superdupersoul/sds004-002-tony-s-feel-alright Most probably there will not be a part 4 of ’From the Beach to the Dancefloor” as I feel like doing something a little bit less sugary. Final tonight A bientôt Xtian
Before owning my own business and in my 20's and living in Miami, I used to party hard on Fridays! Now that I'm a family man and own a business, ain't nobody got time for that!
Sam Frank has done a lot in his 28 years. He's travelled the world over to speak about and learn about cheese, he's made chocolate on a cacao farm, aged cheese in Brooklyn, made cheese in Europe and was an Army brat growing up. All of this has led him to helm the North American distribution of Jumi Cheese. A Swiss maker and importer of some of the best cheeses you're likely to come across. Listen in as Sam and Harry discuss everything from the Jumi logo, to whether or not you can make Raclette in an Instant Pot. Feast Yr Ears is powered by Simplecast

With a sound described as "what the '60s thought the future would sound like," Youngblood - aka Alexis Young - has been turning heads of late, including those of the judges who chose her as a participant of the 2016 JUNO Master Class. Her debut EP, Feel Alright, was created with Parker Bossley (of Gay Nineties, Mounties, and Fur Trade) and produced and engineered by Juno-nominated DJ, producer and Diplo collaborator Sleepy Tom. She talks about delivering a unique live experience, putting together her own supergroup, and more. Toronto-based MC Leondro has been carving out a name for himself in Canadian hip-hop while also lending his talents and efforts to causes close to him. He tells us how his unique background and upbringing contribute to his creative output, finding collaborators in and around the city, and more. And finally, Halifax's Dub Kartel aim to "raise up the standard of the dance floor" with their concoction of dancehall, reggae, pop, hip-hop, and all kinds of other influences. We speak with frontman Kyle McCracken about how their home city contributed to their sonic collage, their aspirations to push westward, and more.
Starting the show with some thumpy synth-pop from Fashion, Human League, Blancmange and Heaven 17.

Mark McLean had a single criterion when it came time to expand his horizons beyond the groove and record his long awaited breakout as a powerhouse composer and lyricist: it had to: Feel Alright. Feel Alright is the follow-up to McLean’s acclaimed 2010 indie recording Playground, an all-instrumental showcase for his band of the same name whose tracks earned significant airplay on both traditional jazz and urban jazz stations. The new album is produced by Grammy winning engineer and producer Steve Bigas, well known for his previous work with Taj Mahal and Ziggy Marley and for his long association with Daniel Lanois. Since moving to New York in 1999 and raising his international profile with his several year association with jazz singer/pianist Andy Bey in 2000, McLean — a jazz performance graduate from the University of Toronto who played at age 22 with fellow Canadian and jazz icon Oscar Peterson - has kept time in the studio and/or on tour with a virtual “who’s who” of jazz and pop artists whose music and influences spans multiple generations. These include Wynton Marsalis, Quincy Jones, Gladys Knight, Diana Krall, Glen Campbell, Carla Cook, Linda Eder, Jimmy Webb, Vanessa Williams, Patti Austin, Gladys Knight, Joe Sample, Jamie Cullum, Andrea Bocelli, Catherine Russell, Dionne Warwick and The Backstreet Boys.
