On this episode of the Lead With Purpose podcast host, Tze Ching Yeung talks to Claire O'Sullivan and Kitty Wilson Brown of Contemporary Hempery to talk about how they're trying to revive the UK's hemp industry. KEY TAKEAWAYS Our quest has 2 goals: 1, we want to revive hemp for textiles in the UK, and 2, we want to elevate this fantastically versatile and beautiful fibre back to where it should be; in all of our wardrobes and our homes. I (Kitty) did textiles at university, specialising in woven textiles. Throughout all my work sustainability was a big point and I was always using upcycled materials or natural fibres. Claire's a jeweller, so we both have artistic brains, and over a glass of wine a couple of years ago she told me about hemp and how it used to be a big crop in Suffolk. I'd always wanted to weave with hemp, so we decided to grow some. It was the right time, the right place. From having the idea to putting seeds in the ground took five months. There was no planning or forethought involved, it just seemed to happen. Hemp requires no pesticides, no insecticides, it has no bug enemies, and it needs very little water. Before we knew it we had this magical hemp forest that was beautiful and so full of life. Then we needed to figure out how to turn it into fibre. Again, we had no knowledge of this, but lots of people came forward who wanted to help us and show us how hemp was traditionally turned into fibre, which is the way we do it. It's been a great community project, bringing people in to help work on it with us. To grow industrial hemp in this country it has to be 0.3% THC, so you could smoke 9 acres and you wouldn't feel anything, it can't make you high. It's an incredibly versatile plant, you can make clothes from it, you can build your entire house from it, the architectural products market is really exploding in this country because it has incredible insulation properties, hempcrete is just hemp and lime and it's really, really strong, you can make hemp wood from it. Of course, you can make paper from hemp (The Declaration of Human Rights is printed on hemp paper, as was the King James Bible), and you can make yourself well from it because it makes CBD, though we can't do that because our licence and the variety we're growing is specifically for fibre and we cut it before it flowers. BEST MOMENTS‘Humans and help have been collaborating with each other to make fabric for at least 10,000 years.'‘Pretty much every culture has grown hemp because it is an extraordinary plant that grows all the way from Siberia to the equator, so there's almost no part of the world you can't grow it in.'‘Before this project I (Claire) didn't know anything about fibre, or fabric, or farming, so it's been a really fun learning curve!'‘The licensing regime from the Home Office to industrially grow hemp in the country is all a bit ridiculous.'

A., Al-Obeidi, F., Streicher, J. M. Abstract: Terpenes are small hydrocarbon compounds that impart aroma and taste to many plants, including Cannabis sativa. A number of studies have shown that terpenes can produce pain relief in various pain states in both humans and animals. However, these studies were methodologically limited and few established mechanisms of action. In our previous work, we showed that the terpenes geraniol, linalool, {beta}-pinene, -humulene, and {beta}-caryophyllene produced cannabimimetic behavioral effects via multiple receptor targets. We thus expanded this work to explore the efficacy and mechanism of these Cannabis terpenes in relieving chronic pain. We first tested for antinociceptive efficacy by injecting terpenes (200 mg/kg, IP) into male and female CD-1 mice with chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) or lipopolysaccharide-induced inflammatory pain, finding that the terpenes produced roughly equal efficacy to 10 mg/kg morphine or 3.2 mg/kg WIN55,212. We further found that none of the terpenes produced reward as measured by conditioned place preference, while low doses of terpene (100 mg/kg) combined with morphine (3.2 mg/kg) produced enhanced antinociception vs. either alone. We then used the adenosine A2A receptor (A2AR) selective antagonist istradefylline (3.2 mg/kg, IP) and spinal cord-specific CRISPR knockdown of the A2AR to identify this receptor as the mechanism for terpene antinociception in CIPN. In vitro cAMP and binding studies and in silico modeling studies further suggested that the terpenes act as A2AR agonists. Together these studies identify Cannabis terpenes as potential therapeutics for chronic neuropathic pain, and identify a receptor mechanism in the spinal cord for this activity.

Huberman Lab Podcast Notes Key Takeaways Nicotinic receptors and cannabinoid receptors are not in the brain for smoking tobacco or marijuana; they are endogenous receptors that support specific functions (such as acetylcholine) when appropriateCannabis dependence: when smoked or ingested, THC and CBD bind to cannabinoid receptors and tap into endogenous receptors with much more potency – your endogenous receptors are outcompeted  Sativa strains increase mood, alertness, and focus of the prefrontal cortex while decreasing stress and threat detection in the amygdala – this combination allows people to enter narrowed focus  Indica strains reduce the activity of the prefrontal cortex and induce relaxation and sedative effects but also lead to profound defects in short-term memory because it reduces the activity of the hippocampusThere are no predictors of what your reaction will be to a given strain (e.g., whether you experience relaxation or paranoia)“Cannabis increases creativity but through changes in personality that tap into the creative process, rather than directly impacting the neural circuits that, for instance, ‘turn on' creativity.” – Dr. Andrew HubermanSmoking cannabis increases prolactin levels (especially in those who smoke more than twice per week); dopamine and prolactin are mutually inhibitory – this is important in sexual arousal which will be suppressed if prolactin is elevated with cannabis useFertility: THC (not CBD) is inhibitory for gonadotropin-releasing hormone which ultimately reduces testosterone in men, ovarian health in women“Cannabis use itself makes people 4x likelier to develop a chronic, major depression.” – Dr. Andrew HubermanChronic cannabis is not safe for the developing brain and body because of thinning of gray matter that occurs – risks include depression, anxiety, psychotic events, inability to balance moodThe more potent the THC concentration, the higher the likelihood of developing a major anxiety disorder or psychotic episode later in lifeRead the full notes @ podcastnotes.orgIn this episode, I discuss cannabis (aka marijuana), including the biological mechanisms underlying its effects on the mind and body, its known medical applications, its impact on libido, creativity, hunger, hormones and more. I also cover the known adverse health consequences of chronic and even acute (one-time) use and the factors that determine if cannabis is helpful or harmful. Additionally, I detail how the various strains of cannabis: sativa, indica and hybrid strains, can produce such divergent effects depending on the strain type, THC-to-CBD ratio, total dosage, and frequency of use. As the legal landscape for cannabis is rapidly evolving, this episode should interest a wide audience, including former/current cannabis users, those in the medical, sports, law enforcement, and educational communities and, of course, children, teenagers, and parents. It was in 2018 that LA-based Ellen made the leap from her career as an executive creative director in digital marketing to co-create We Are All Daughters a Quantum Holistic Healing Space supporting collective healing through education, energetic therapy, plant medicines, and ritual tools. Because of her own need to make a healthy lifestyle change, these tools help reprogram the subconscious and regulate the body so that we can be liberated to live authentically. The Woo Knew? Podcast launched in April 2019 and follows creators Sam and Ellen's transformational journeys as they explore the world of alternative healing. That same month, Ellen became a certified breathwork guide. With her background in design and music, shamanic healing, and entheogenic plant medicines, Ellen created an energetic practice that merges breathwork, guided visualization/shamanic journeying, Cannabis Sativa and freeform movement. Through this journey work, Ellen guides her circles to connect deeply to their bodies, their "Little Selves," and to vast Quantum realities where the subconscious can be reprogrammed and old traumas released from the energetic and physical body. With her life practice and offerings, she acknowledges with gratitude the First Nations of the Tongva and Cahuilla, the Ancestors of the lands upon which she resides, and her own ancestral lines extending to Taiwan and China. LINKS: www.tripwithellen.com @tripwithellen wearealldaughters.com @we.are.all.daughters Woo Knew Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/woo-knew/id1475210641 Ig: @wooknewpodcast

Episode 68 Numbers   Playlist John Cage, “49 Waltzes For The Five Boroughs” from The Waltz Project (17 Contemporary Waltzes For Piano) (1981 Nonesuch). Piano, Alan Feinberg, Robert Moran, Yvar Mikhashoff. Cage worked by using chance operations to make decisions about key aspects of his works. So, by the nature of his method, he worked strictly by the numbers. But the choices become multifaceted when you consider how he applied these random choices to the matrix of sound sources available for a given piece. “49 Waltzes for the Five Boroughs for performer(s) or listener(s) or record maker(s)” is a case in point. Think of the numbers. The work translates a graphic map containing 147 New York street addresses or locations arranged through chance operations into 49 groups of three (consisting of five players each). Cage used “hundreds of coin tosses and the I Ching” to arrive at a “tapestry” of sound, combining hundreds of traditional waltz fragments. First realized by Cage in 1977, the recorded version heard here uses three pianists playing the waltzes plus other ancillary sound making devices plus pre-recorded environmental tapes made in various parts of New York. 5:15 Timothy Sullivan, “Numbers, Names” from Computer Music From Colgate Volume 1 (1980 Redwood Records). Computer composition by Timothy Sullivan; Percussion, Frank Bennett. Created at the Colgate Computer Music Studio at the University Computer Center using a DEC PDP-10 with an on-line interactive system and a four channel digital to analog converter designed and built by Joseph Zingeim. 12:28 Philip S. Gross, excerpts from The International Morse Code: A Teaching Record Using The Audio-Vis-Tac Method (1962 Folkways). Including instructions and drills from the tracks “Numbers And The Alphabet,” “Learning The Numbers,” and “Numbers.” 2:23 Kraftwerk, “Nummern (Numbers)” from Live - Paris '76 & Utrecht '81 (2019 Radio Looploop). An unofficial release of a live performance in Utrecht, 1981. 3:37 107-34-8933 (Nik Raicevic), “Cannabis Sativa” from Numbers (1970 Narco). Self-released album prior to this record being issued by Buddha in the same year as the album Head. Recorded at Gold Star Studio in Hollywood, where the Moog Modular Synthesizer was played by “107-34-8933,” aka Nik Raicevic. From the liner notes: “What is the sound of tomorrow? The sound of notes or the sound of numbers?” 17:55 The Conet Project, “Recordings Of Shortwave Numbers Stations” (1997 Irdial Discs). Original 1997 release reports the following at the end of page 15 of the booklet: "A complete set of recordings of all known Morse stations will also be posted in the fourth quarter of 1997". I don't think that released ever appeared. The track included here is my edit of excerpted examples from the four-CD collection of numbers stations recordings from around the globe. 7:12 Thom Holmes, “Numbers” from Intervals (2017 Wave Magnet). A composition using recordings of numbers stations as the primary source, combined with audio processing and synthesizers. 5:57 Background music: Numbers stations remix (Holmes) based on tracks found on “Recordings Of Shortwave Numbers Stations” by The Conet Project (1997 Irdial Discs).   Opening and closing sequences voiced by Anne Benkovitz. Additional opening, closing, and other incidental music by Thom Holmes. For additional notes, please see my blog, Noise and Notations.

Shout out to ASAP-Science. Science never goes out of Style... CBDHealth.Industries™ believes NuLeaf Naturals #CBDOil is the world's best CBD oil on the market with free shipping available to all 50 U.S. States. Organically grown in Colorado with 2.4mg of pure CBD oil per drop, this is the highest potency pure cannabidiol. This CBD is whole plant, full-spectrum, stronger, better, and provides consistent dosing regardless of the bottle size. Recommended serving: 10 drops (equals 24MG). Available in five sizes: 5ml/240MG CBD .17oz $38.50 15ml/725MG CBD .5oz $99.00 30ml/1450MG CBD 1.0oz $179.00 50ml/2425MG CBD 1.69oz $239.00 100ml/4850MG CBD 3.38oz $439.00 NuLeaf Naturals (@NuLeafNaturals) CBD oil is made using a combination of supercritical and subcritical CO2 extraction methods. Why is this important? First, CO2 extraction methods mean that chemicals and harsh solvents are not used in the extraction process — creating a cleaner, safer, end product. NuLeaf performs a fractional extraction first, which means that the oil is extracted at a lower temperature and pressure to remove the lighter, temperature sensitive volatile oils. Next, that material is extracted at a higher temperature and pressure to remove the remaining oils. NuLeaf says that this method creates a more potent blend by extracting and preserving a complete range of cannabinoids, terpenes, and phytochemicals. CO2 extraction methods are the leading industry standard, a good sign to look for when evaluating CBD oils. Cannabidiol is a naturally occurring compound found in the hemp plant (Cannabis Sativa). NuLeaf Naturals firmly believes that organic CBD oil may improve the lives of individuals suffering from certain mental and physical ailments. Dr. Andrew Kidder is an expert in the field of functional medicine as well as CBD and all things cannabinoids. We started the discussion with understanding the Hemp vs Marijuana comparison Hemp and Marijuana are both classified under the Cannabis umbrella             Marijuana has CBD and THC             Hemp is CBD and may or may not have some THC THC is the cannabinoid that effectively activates the “high” in the right amounts.  However, research has indicated that a small amount of THC may actually yield a better medicinal affect with no high.  Other distinguishing characteristics rise from how and where the plant is grown and harvested etc. There are 100 or so Cannabinoids with CBD and THC being the main 2 studied right now. CBD was discovered as scientists were learning about THC and its interaction in the human body for healing CBD is typically from the Cannabis Sativa plant Endocannabinoid System discovered in the human body in the 1990's.  -It regulates balance in most systems including hormones, pain, and the immune system and well as the gut and even the brain.             -It has been shown to have the highest number of receptors in the human body             -Which means the human body also produces its own endocannabinoids Anatomized which are neurotransmitters or brain chemical cannabinoids that are responsible for the feel-good happiness pathway.  Some describe as the “runner's high” 2AG which are the body endocannabinoids which are the highest amount in the body and help regulate pain and immune response.  Also balances and manages the immune system as well as organs of digestion including appetite and weight loss  So, when CBD (an external cannabinoid) is taken in it activates CB1 and CB2 receptors             CB1 is brain and spinal cord             CB2 is all other tissues  So together maintaining the endo (inside occurring) and then taking an external one like CBD we can really balance the body and help with pain.   Harvesting is done by CO2 extraction then refining             So much happens before it hits the market it's important to know the manufacturer, the farm, the harvesting machines, the level of quality etc… 3 types of CBD on the market Isolate – everything is removed including all other cannabinoids and the terpenes (smell and taste) chemicals. Typically, people will smoke or vape this.  This is the type Big Pharma has latched on to.   Full Spectrum – CBD as well as the other cannabinoids and terpenes and may actually contain up to 0.3% of the THC Broad Spectrum – CBD and other cannabinoids and terpenes but no THC Dr. Kidder encouraged us to read the labels for the following Broad or Full or Isolate Amount of CBD (5mg per dropper or 25mg or whatever) He encouraged us to check with the company for data on what their product contains in each dropper. Specifically, for pain he encouraged that we take a quality full spectrum liquid or tincture or gummy or gel cap in the amount of no less than 25mg.  So good quality CBD might have all 25mg in the dropper. However, he said that won't be enough and we should also be taking CBD in through a topical rub or balm applied over the area of injury and inflammation. He explained how the CB1 receptors cannot be activated in pain relief enough with just one way.  Look for a bottle with 750mg or so He told us all to email him directly with questions or for a great source for us to use. His email is drdrewkidd@gmail.com

Transcript for the show is found below the pic: In this episode we are first have a forum discussion covering the terms used in medical cannabis.  The PodcastDX co-hosts will talk briefly about the terminology to familiarize you with some of the terms.  Then we move directly into an interview with a patient who has recently been prescribed medical cannabis.  We get some background into how a new patient goes about applying for and finally obtaining the product for use.  In Illinois this is not as simple as your doctor sending a prescription over to the local pharmacy as you will see.   In the next episode we speak with Dr. Bob Weil, a sports doctor, and Alex, a local budtender at a dispensary.   Episode 12 Medical Cannabis Part One (online-audio-converter.com).mp3   Ron [00:00:16] Hello and welcome to PodcastDX. The show that brings you interviews with people just like you whose lives were forever changed by a medical diagnosis.   Lita [00:00:25] I'm Lita.   Ron [00:00:26] I'm Ron.   Jean [00:00:27] And I'm high on life.   Lita [00:00:29] Or Jean.   Jean [00:00:31] Oh yeah that too.   Lita [00:00:32]  we're collectively the hosts of podcast d x.   Jean [00:00:36] This podcast is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice diagnosis or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health care provider for any questions you may have regarding a medical condition or treatment and before undertaking a new health care regime. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you have heard on this podcast.   Ron [00:01:01] Today's show on medical marijuana is broken down into segments. First we're going to quickly run through a bit of terminology and general information about cannabis. Then we'll interview Meg a patient for whom medical marijuana was recently prescribed.   Jean [00:01:15] The term medical marijuana or a medical cannabis as it's referred to in Illinois refers to using the whole unprocessed marijuana plant or its basic extracts to treat symptoms of illness or other medical conditions.   Lita [00:01:31] Although 28 states and at least one territory have legalized medical cannabis the U.S. Food and Drug Administration FDA has not recognized or approved the marijuana plant as medicine. However the scientific study of the chemicals in marijuana called cannabinoids has led to at least two FDA approved medications that derived from the cannabis plant little hype, or hypocritical there. Additionally prescription medications derived from cannabis and synthetic forms of cannabinoids are available in other countries. The FDA requires carefully conducted studies called clinical trials in hundreds to thousands of human subjects to determine the benefits and risks of a possible medication. So far researchers haven't conducted enough large scale clinical trials that show that the benefits of the marijuana plant as opposed to its cannabinoid ingredients outweigh its risks in patients. It's meant to treat CBD based liquid drug to treat certain forms of childhood epilepsy is being tested in clinical trials but isn't yet FDA approved.   Ron [00:02:53] There are many chemicals in the plants that we use as medicine.   Lita [00:02:57] Examples; morphine, codeine, nicotine, quinine, caffeine, atropine, willow bark, aspirin just to name a few.   Ron [00:03:07] Nicotine is a medicine.   Lita [00:03:08] Well that's another whole subject but yes it can be.   Ron [00:03:12] Nabiximols or Sativex is just one prescription medication that was derived from the cannabis plant. It is an aerosolized mist for oral administration and contains a near 1 to 1 ratio of CBD and THC.   Jean [00:03:26] OK before we get into what CBD and THC are let's run through a few basics Cannabis Sativa is an annual herbaceous flowering plants. Originally indigenous to Asia there's a bit of a controversy in terms of the scientific classification for our purposes. There are three subspecies of cannabis cannabis sativa cannabis indica and cannabis ruderalis and I may not pronounce it correctly. Each of these subspecies has its own characteristics.   Lita [00:03:59] Right Sativa strains are thought to be invigorating improve energy increase focus they tend to have a spicier and sweet smell. Generally they have a higher THC to CBD ratio.   Ron [00:04:14] On the other hand indica strains are thought to have a more sedative effect. They're said to reduce nausea increased appetite have a more skunky scent and typically have a higher CBD to THC percentage.   Lita [00:04:30] As with most things to learn about a subject you need to learn the specialized language and terminology associated with the subject. When it comes to cannabis medical or otherwise there are some terms that are good to know.   Jean [00:04:43] For example we've been mentioning CBD which is ummm cannabidiol which lacks the intoxicating effects of THC.  Unlike THC, CBD is cannabinoid I can say that one that doesn't make people high. It may be useful in reducing pain and inflammation controlling epileptic seizures and possibly even treating mental illness and addictions.   Lita [00:05:08] So CBD is a good one.   Jean [00:05:10] Well yeah.   Lita [00:05:11] Well.   Jean [00:05:11] There. Yeah.   Lita [00:05:12] Yeah. Not as much of a high.   Jean [00:05:15] no, Yeah. It's not meant to give you a high.   Lita [00:05:16] It's only for the medicinal.   Jean [00:05:18] Right. Or that intoxicating effect.   Lita [00:05:20] Got it.   Lita [00:05:21] The body also produces its own cannabinoid chemicals. They play a role in regulating pleasure, memory, thinking, concentration, body movement, awareness of time, appetite, pain, and the senses like taste, touch, smell, hearing, sight.   Jean [00:05:38] Right and THC which is a tetra hydro cannabinol THC is a lipid and it's finding cannabis THC can increase appetite and reduce nausea and it also can reduce or decrease pain and inflammation such as swelling and redness too and it can help with muscle control problems.   Ron [00:06:00] And intoxication is defined as a temporary state of diminished physical and mental control. Some typical intoxicating agents or alcohol liquor certain drug or other substances.   Jean [00:06:17] Right. So we said like THC has an intoxicating effect.   Lita [00:06:21] Right.   Jean [00:06:21] OK.   Lita [00:06:22] So the term mind altering refers to chemicals which produce mood changes or which give you a sense of heightened awareness.   Jean [00:06:32] OK. And to wrap our segment up psychoactive chemicals are substances which have a profound or significant effect on the mental processes.   Ron [00:06:42] You can take medicinal cannabis orally topically trans dermally or sub lingually  which is under the tongue or can be inhaled. Allow me to introduce Meg.  Meg is an artist who resides in Illinois. She has recently been prescribed medical marijuana.   Jean [00:07:01] Hi Meg.   Lita [00:07:03] Hi Meg.   Meg [00:07:03] Hi.   Lita [00:07:03] In some states you simply need to take your state issued I.D. card and a prescription to a dispensary in order to obtain medical cannabis. Is that the case in Illinois.   Meg [00:07:12] Not exactly the medical cannabis patient registry program allows people who are diagnosed with a debilitating medical condition and their caregivers to register with the Illinois Department of Public Health in order to obtain access to the cannabis for medical use. So in Illinois you need to apply for the medical cannabis registry I.D. card.   Lita [00:07:31] Oh ok.   Ron [00:07:32] Well how does somebody apply for the I.D. card.   Meg [00:07:34] There are five basic routs to which you can apply for the card. The process is a bit different for terminal patients minors and for veterans who are receiving treatment at a V.A. facility.   Jean [00:07:45] And you don't fall into any of those categories do you know.   Meg [00:07:48] No, I am in the third category of everyone else.   Ron [00:07:51] So what's the process like for everyone else.   Meg [00:07:54] Well you can either work through the paperwork on your own contact the center or your local health department for assistance to complete the process.   Lita [00:08:02] And what is that process like.   Meg [00:08:04] I went to with a company that walks you through the process. I had my first appointment with a physician on January 30th and from there I had to do a video appointment which I had on February 5th. The average wait time to receive the card once in the mail. Once you've completed all your paperwork is about eight to twelve weeks and mine took twelve weeks so I got my medical cannabis registry ID card on April 16.   Jean [00:08:27] OK. So it can take a while to have your paperwork processed by the state.   Meg [00:08:31] If you're working on the paperwork on your own it's a bit more complicated. First of all in Illinois you have to be a resident in Illinois.   Jean [00:08:38] The first rule of Fight Club is you don't talk about fight club.   Lita [00:08:41] OK. Go ahead Meg   Meg [00:08:42] You can not have any prior felony drug convictions. You cannot be a firefighter correctional officer active duty law enforcement officer or correctional probation officer. If you have a permit to drive a school bus or CDL you're not eligible for the current state program. And of course you must be diagnosed with the qualifying condition.   Jean [00:09:01] But you can you know,. That's not excluding too many things.   Lita [00:09:06] Ummm yeah laughing.   Jean [00:09:06] How can someone find out if they have a qualifying condition.   Meg [00:09:09] In Illinois you can find a list of qualifying conditions on the Illinois Department of Public Health web site which is a DPA. Illinois gov.   Ron [00:09:17] OK all right so what's next.   Meg [00:09:21] In Illinois you need to be a you need a physician licensed in the state of Illinois to complete the three page physician written certification form and here the states instructions are a bit hazy.   Jean [00:09:32] How do you mean.   Meg [00:09:33] Well on the physician written certification form it says the completed sign forms should be given to the patient and submitted along with their other paperwork by the patient.   Lita [00:09:42] OK.   Meg [00:09:43] But in the application for qualifying patient registry ID card instructions it states that the physician should complete their portion of the paperwork and mail it directly to the IDP wages Division of Medical Cannabis.   Lita [00:09:57] That's conflicting so within what's next.   Meg [00:09:59] You need to complete the applications form selected dispensary and fill out the medical cannabis dispensary selection form. Pay an application fee which varies from 50 to 250.   Lita [00:10:10] ohhh.   Meg [00:10:10] Mail the completed forms along with a color copy of your Illinois state and federal. Issued I.D. color photographs similar to a passport photo. A copy of two documents let establish your residency like utilities bills and leases and get a fingerprint based background check and submit the receipt for the fingerprint scan along with everything else to the DP H.   Lita [00:10:32] huhhh wow, the grass is certainly greener in states that only require a state I.D. and a prescription.   Jean [00:10:37] But-tum bum.   Lita [00:10:39] laughter.   Jean [00:10:39] Yeah you do the hokey pokey.   Ron [00:10:41] So then you take your card to the dispensary and pick up your medical cannabis.   Meg [00:10:46] Yeah. Basically I'm allotted two and a half ounces every two weeks so they keep track of it on their computers. What I've purchased. How much. The amount is and it tracks the weeks.   Jean [00:11:01] OK sure. Sure.   Lita [00:11:03] See I'm exhausted just hearing about the process. I mean seriously that's a lot of steps to go through.   Ron [00:11:09]  It's the state of Illinois.   Lita [00:11:10] Illinois. Yeah I get us has the medical cannabis help ease the symptoms of your medical condition.   Meg [00:11:17] Yeah I part of why I started to do it was I was having trouble sleeping and with my doctor we decided that the first priority would be to get me a full night's sleep.   Jean [00:11:29] That sounds nice.   Meg [00:11:30] It would be beneficial especially since at the time I was going through my final call my semester.   Lita [00:11:35] Finals  in college yeah.   Meg [00:11:36] And no sleep would be very nice.   Jean [00:11:38] Yeah!   Meg [00:11:38] . And then from there it also just it helps with my pain, my depression and anxiety. I mean just kind of everything I call it the wonder wonder wonder plant.   Jean [00:11:48] Great.   Lita [00:11:49] Right now. Yeah.   Ron [00:11:50] Glad to hear that. Thank you for joining us today Meg and for the insight into this incredibly difficult application process in the state of Illinois.   Jean [00:12:00] Yeah. Thank you Meg.   Lita [00:12:01] That wraps up Part 1 of 2 for our podcast about medical cannabis. Join us next week when we'll interview Dr. Weil and get a physician's view of cannabis as medicine.   Jean [00:12:14] If our listeners have any questions or comments related to today's show they can contact us at podcast D X at yahoo dot com through our Web site Podcast DX  dot com, on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or Instagram.   Lita [00:12:32] And if you have a moment to spare please give us a five star review on the iI tunes podcast app.   Jean [00:12:38] And we'd like to think those of you who have already done so. Till next week.   Lita [00:12:42] Bye bye.
