Meet my friends, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton! If you love Verdict, the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show might also be in your audio wheelhouse. Politics, news analysis, and some pop culture and comedy thrown in too. Here’s a sample episode recapping four Thursday takeaways. Give the guys a listen and then follow and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. Superman Fans Go After Clay A fiery and humorous critique of Hollywood’s political messaging, with a sharp focus on the controversy surrounding the new Superman movie directed by James Gunn. The hosts open with a lighthearted jab at CNN’s Wolf Blitzer and his infamous Jeopardy performance, using it as a springboard to discuss media credibility and public perception. The bulk of the hour centers on the Superman movie backlash, where Clay Travis criticizes Gunn’s framing of Superman as an immigrant and the broader trend of injecting progressive politics into iconic characters. Travis argues that Superman should remain an apolitical symbol of universal values like truth and justice, not a vehicle for modern immigration debates. The hosts explore whether Superman is better understood as an asylum seeker rather than an immigrant, given his extraterrestrial origins and adoption by American parents. OH Rep. Jim Jordan Congressman Jim Jordan tout the recently passed Big Beautiful Bill’s middle-class tax cuts, investment in border security, and pro-growth reforms. They argue it will stimulate job creation, repatriate manufacturing, and shield Americans from inflation-driven tax hikes. The show also covers the evolving landscape of college athletics, focusing on bipartisan legislation to regulate NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) compensation. Congressman Jordan outlines a proposed federal framework to protect student-athletes, enforce agent transparency, and establish eligibility standards—aiming to bring order to what he calls a “broken” system. The interview wraps with President Trump’s rumored plans for a UFC fight on the White House lawn. TX Sen. John Cornyn A sobering update from Texas Senator John Cornyn on the devastating Hill Country flooding, which has claimed over 120 lives and left 170 missing. The hosts and Senator Cornyn explore the urgent need for improved flood warning systems and emergency preparedness, especially for nighttime disasters. Listeners are encouraged to support Texas flood victims through fundraising efforts promoted on ClayandBuck.com. The conversation shifts to a shocking ambush on federal law enforcement officers in Alvarado, Texas, where 11 suspects have been charged. Senator Cornyn condemns the attack and links it to escalating anti-police rhetoric, emphasizing the need for strong support of ICE and law enforcement agencies. Illegal immigration and border security take center stage as Cornyn praises the Trump administration’s efforts to restore control at the southern border. He highlights the renewed morale among Border Patrol agents and the shift from humanitarian overload to national security enforcement. Run Jasmine, Run! The high-stakes 2026 Texas Senate race. Senator Cornyn discusses potential challengers, including Ken Paxton and Jasmine Crockett, and the strategic importance of maintaining Republican control in a politically pivotal state. The hosts speculate on whether President Trump will weigh in on the primary, underscoring the national implications of the race. Tune in here to this Monday’s edition of the Brett Winterble Show with Chris Krok filling in! Chris kicks off the program by discussing Senator Thom Tillis’s announcement that he won’t seek re-election, framing it as a pivotal moment for Republican voters—especially those aligned with Trump or the further right. Chirs critiques Tillis as a “milquetoast moderate” who lacks the boldness expected by MAGA-aligned conservatives. He questions Tillis’s opposition to Medicaid cuts and his hesitancy to support key GOP initiatives, citing stats from the Wall Street Journal to argue that many Medicaid recipients are either non-citizens or able-bodied individuals not working. Chris also compares Tillis to figures like John Cornyn and the late John McCain, debating whether the GOP should nominate a staunch conservative with “stones,” or a more electable centrist. Chuck Todd begins with Zohran Mamdani's stunning victory over Andrew Cuomo in the New York City Democratic mayoral primary. He points to Mamdani's cost of living messaging and youth as major factors in the victory, but cautions the party against embracing the “socialist” label, and wonders whether the party establishment will embrace or shun Mamdani. Then, Chuck is joined by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jose Antonio Vargas, who shares his deeply personal journey of living as an undocumented immigrant in America and how it shaped his perspective on one of the nation's most divisive issues. Vargas, who publicly revealed his undocumented status over a decade ago, discusses the atmospheric shift in immigration discourse under Trump, the bipartisan failures that have plagued reform efforts, and why he believes coming out as gay was actually easier than revealing his immigration status. He offers a unique insider's view of working at major outlets like the Washington Post while hiding his legal status, living in constant fear of deportation. The conversation delves into the broader media and political landscape surrounding immigration, with Vargas arguing that Democrats have failed to provide a positive counter-narrative to right-wing messaging that has made anti-immigration sentiment central to Republican identity. He challenges both parties for using immigration as a political football rather than addressing the human reality of 40 million people of Mexican heritage living in America. Vargas advocates for journalism that goes beyond economic impact stories to humanize immigrants' experiences, while grappling with the tension between objective reporting and advocacy journalism. The discussion also touches on America's demographic future, the need for immigrant labor to offset declining birth rates, and whether the nation can reconcile its identity as both a country of immigrants and a Judeo-Christian society. Finally, he answers listeners' questions in the “Ask Chuck” segment regarding the viral Ted Cruz vs Tucker Carlson interview and addresses the conspiracy theory that Starlink hacked voting machines in the 2024 election.Timeline: (Timestamps may vary based on advertisements)00:00 Introduction01:00 Zohran Mamdani beats Andrew Cuomo in NYC mayoral primary02:30 Multiple possible explanations for Mamdani's victory03:30 Cost of living messaging resonated04:30 This will supercharge the young vs old debate in the party05:30 Will the “democratic socialism” label become a liability for the party?08:00 Moderates rallying around Cuomo made no sense09:00 This should be a wake up call for the Democratic establishment10:00 Democratic voters are looking for “new”11:45 Mamdani fired first shot in battle to rebrand the party13:30 Rallying around Eric Adams would be a bad move for the establishment15:30 Mamdani needs to expand his tent17:30 The big tent illusion - Both parties claim to be "big tent" but aren't 19:15 It's hard to not have a "label" in our current politics 21:00 The Republican party has become a cult of personality 21:45 Politicians can't ever agree with the other side 22:30 The only politicians with a big tent approach are governors 25:00 The coalition that elected Trump is big tent, he isn't governing like it 26:30 Our politics would be healthier if there was four parties 28:00 Politics wasn't designed to be winner-take-all 29:30 Bipartisanship would produce better, more durable legislation 33:30 John Cornyn may drop out, but only if he can stop Ken Paxton 35:45 If Ken Paxton is the nominee, Democrats could win the TX senate seat 37:00 Center-right voters in Texas are homeless 37:45 The TikTok extension via executive order is illegal 38:30 Donald Trump has refused to enforce the law with TikTok 39:45 Politicians are fearful of alienating TikTok users41:30 Jose Antonio Vargas joins the Chuck ToddCast! 42:00 What year did you go public with your undocumented status? 44:00 The atmospheric shift around immigration under Trump 45:30 George W. Chuck Todd begins by trying to make sense of the Elon Musk vs. Donald Trump public feud and why Trump will likely be muted in his criticism. Chuck also weighs in on the NYC mayoral race, why Andrew Cuomo shouldn't be allowed to run this soon after resigning in disgrace and why voters were deprived of closure in the Cuomo scandal. Then, Chuck sits down with Lindsey Williams Drath, CEO of the Forward Party, to explore the challenges and opportunities facing America's newest third-party movement. Williams discusses the party's "purple" approach to politics, rejecting traditional left-right labels while focusing on governance over party affiliation. The conversation covers the significant barriers third parties face, from institutional pushback to the infrastructure advantages held by Republicans and Democrats, who have "pulled the ladder up behind them" through restrictive ballot access requirements and partisan primaries.Looking ahead to the 2026 and 2028 elections, Drath outlines the Forward Party's strategic approach to building from the ground up at the state level, targeting swing districts and disaffected voters from both major parties. The discussion touches on fusion voting, potential mergers with other independent groups, and the party's unique challenge of maintaining unity without a rigid ideology. Williams also addresses whether candidates with contradictory positions can coexist under one party banner, the role of money in politics, and how the Forward Party plans to avoid becoming a spoiler while building toward federal party status and meaningful electoral competition. Finally, Chuck answers listeners' question in the “Ask Chuck” segment regarding whether he'd ever consider working in the White House comms shop, what type of leader could best correct the erosion of American democracy, and who he thinks are the top 3 candidates to be at the top of the Democratic ticket in 2028.Timeline:00:00 Introduction02:30 There is tremendous dissatisfaction with both political parties04:00 What to make of the Elon Musk vs Donald Trump feud?05:00 One party governance breeds bad governance07:30 Trump vs Musk was always going to be a test of wills08:30 Trump isn't as aggressive with people wealthier than him10:15 Democrats likely won't forgive Elon if he turns on Trump11:30 Winner of the Democratic NYC mayoral primary will be the mayor12:45 Andrew Cuomo hasn't lived in NYC in 35 years13:45 Cuomo shouldn't have resigned because we never got closure on accusations15:45 If you resign in disgrace, there needs to be an electoral penalty16:30 Cuomo never faced an impeachment trial18:30 Multiple governors have resigned in order to dodge investigations21:00 We never got an accounting of Al Franken's ethics committee report23:00 Cuomo shouldn't be able to run again so soon24:00 Lindsey Williams Drath joins the Chuck ToddCast! 24:50 What is the Forward Party and what do they believe? 26:30 Barriers to entry for a third party 27:10 There's growing sentiment for the need for a third party 28:30 There's major institutional pushback to third parties 29:30 Republicans and Democrats have an infrastructure advantage 30:20 10-year goal. Chuck Todd begins by examining whether Democrats have lost by enough to force meaningful change or if they're simply tinkering around the edges. He covers Trump's recent controversial moves, including hosting dinners for his memecoin buyers and politicizing his West Point commencement speech, while exploring how "whataboutism" and Trump creating a culture of fear have become pervasive in our political discourse. Chuck analyzes new polling data on potential Democratic matchups and discusses why being an incumbent may be a liability in upcoming elections. Then, he's joined by political analyst and author of “Where Have All The Democrats Gone”, Ruy Teixeira, who provides insights into America's ongoing political realignment and the challenges facing both major parties. They explore whether Democrats need to move toward the center to win back working-class voters, discuss the possibility of party collapse similar to what happened with the UK's Tories, and examine why neither party seems capable of forming a truly dominant coalition. The conversation covers everything from the Democrats' branding problems and communication failures to Trump's enduring influence on American politics and the potential for viable independent candidates in 2028.Chuck concludes with upcoming Republican primary dynamics, including Senator John Cornyn's hiring of Trump's campaign manager and why it could be an UGLY campaign.Timeline:00:00 Introduction02:00 Have Democrats lost by enough to force them to change?04:30 Democrats seem intent on tinkering rather than an overhaul05:45 Trump hosts dinner for buyers of his memecoin06:45 Mike Johnson defends corruption if it's “done in the open” * (14:30)08:30 Trump politicizes his West Point commencement speech10:30 “Whataboustism” is plaguing our politics12:00 Neither party has a monopoly on crazy or violence12:45 Trump has created a culture of fear which mutes criticism14:30 The public has become numb to Trump's bad behavior15:45 Corruption will eat away the credibility of the MAGA movement*16:30 New poll released on AOC vs Schumer and Torres vs Hochul18:30 Being an incumbent will be a negative in 2026 and 202822:10 Ruy Texeira joins the Chuck Toddcast 23:40 What is the current state of America's political realignment? 26:25 Do Democrats need to move to the center to win working class voters? 28:10 Lower turnout benefits Democrats 29:55 Democrats have only changed rhetoric, not their positions 31:40 Neither party can form a dominant coalition 32:40 Despite the chaos, Trump's approval rating isn't that bad 34:25 Could we see one party collapse like the Tories in the UK? 36:10 Could a third party replace one of our two parties 37:55 Voters in the western world feel the system is broken 38:40 Democrats are viewed as the status quo party 41:10 What are some lessons Democrats can take from the early 90's? 43:10 Neither party loses by enough to change 46:40 The DNC doesn't grasp how bad the brand has become 47:40 The problem is bigger than communications 49:40 Trump is the towering figure of 21st century American politics 51:10 What to make of Gavin Newsom's political maneuvering? 52:30 Who could be the Democrats next Bill Clinton? 54:40 What states should Democrats be targeting for future elections? 57:10 Democrats made a mistake not having Iowa first in their primary calendar 58:10 Why has Wisconsin stayed so competitive? 1:00:10 What to make of the red shift in blue states where they didn't campaign? 1:02:40 Party strategists are too out of step with the voters 1:04:25 What will we learn from statewide elections in 2025? 1:07:25 Will Joe Biden become a pariah like Jimmy Carter for the Democratic party? 1:09:10 Being a cabinet member for Biden will tank Pete Buttigieg's presidential hopes 1:10:10 The cover up of Biden's decline will haunt the Democrats for years 1:11:25 Any positives for the Democrats? 1:12:25 There could be a viable independent candidate in 20281:16:00 Chuck's thoughts on the interview with Ruy Texeira1:17:30 Senator John Cornyn has hired Trump's campaign manager1:19:00 We're about to see new level of negativity in a Republican primary1:20:45 The new traffic patterns out of Nationals games are annoying

The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (05/22/2025): 3:05pm- Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson's new book, “Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again,” which is critical of the Biden Administration for covering up the president's physical and cognitive decline, was released earlier this week. While Tapper is now reporting on internal stories about Biden's health decline, why did he—and the rest of the mainstream media—largely ignore the story prior to Biden's withdrawal from the 2024 presidential election? While speaking with journalist Tara Palmeri, DC insider Sally Quinn accused former First Lady Jill Biden of “elderly abuse” for allowing her husband to initially run for re-election in 2024. 3:30pm- While appearing on Fox News, Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) discussed his recent request for the Department of Justice to investigate Joe Biden's cognitive and physical decline while serving as president. 3:40pm- While on NewsNation, Axios reporter and Original Sin co-author Alex Thompson said that Biden Administration officials were shocked that the mainstream media was unwilling to investigate Joe Biden's cognitive and physical decline—instead, constantly taking the White House's word without any critical examination. 3:50pm- To absolutely no one's surprise, Matt has never seen the classic film Spaceballs. Plus, the debate over brioche buns rages on! 4:05pm- On Thursday, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released its Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) commission report investigating chronic illness—determining that the health of children nationwide has been negatively impacted by ultra-processed foods, chemical exposures, the over prescription of pharmaceutical drugs, and a lack of emphasis on exercise. From the White House, Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and President Donald Trump announced the results of the report and spoke to the press. Kennedy explained: “never in American history has the federal government taken a position on public health like this”—noting that it had been an ambition of his uncle, President John F. Kennedy, before he was killed. 4:45pm- During Thursday's White House briefing, reporter Peter Doocy asked Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt if unelected Biden Administration staffers concealed the former president's decline so that they could use the levers of power for their own personal gain. 5:05pm- Jennifer Galardi—Senior Policy Analyst for Restoring American Wellness in The Heritage Foundation's DeVos Center—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to assess the Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) newly released Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) Commission report investigating chronic illness. The report determines that the health of children nationwide has been negatively impacted by ultra-processed foods, chemical exposures, the over prescription of pharmaceutical drugs, and a lack of emphasis on exercise. 5:35pm- On Wednesday night two Israeli Embassy staffers were tragically shot and killed outside of the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington D.C. In a post to X, FBI Director Kash Patel revealed that the shooting will be investigated as an “act of terror.” 5:45pm- Steve Hilton—GOP Candidate for Governor of California, former Senior Advisor to the U.K. Prime Minister, and a former Fox News Host—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss his campaign and his potential gubernatorial opponent Kamala Harris's role in covering up Joe Biden's physical and mental decline. Hilton argues that as Vice President, Harris was as responsible as anyone for lying to the American people—demonstrating her failure as a leader and disqualifying her from any future office. In this eye-opening episode of The Daily Signal podcast, Rob Bluey interviews Chris Iacovella, CEO of the American Securities Association. Iacovella recently testified before Congress about a disturbing financial reality many Americans are unaware of. Iacovella explains how Wall Street exploits multiple loopholes that allow companies controlled by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to access American capital markets, despite laws prohibiting foreign ownership of Chinese companies. Key points discussed: How American investments are unknowingly funding CCP activities, including the internment of Uyghurs, PLA weapons systems, cyber attacks against the U.S., and what the State Department has classified as genocide The "Variable Interest Entity" loophole: Americans who think they're buying shares in Chinese companies like Alibaba are actually only purchasing rights to a contract with a Cayman Islands company that contracts with the mainland Chinese company The "Passive Index" loophole: Asset managers include mainland Chinese companies in index funds sold to U.S. investors, allowing these companies to access American capital without complying with U.S. laws and regulations Bipartisan legislation from Rep. Andy Barr and Sen. John Cornyn aimed at identifying Chinese companies with ties to the military or specific technology infrastructure Why China's economic competition is fundamentally unfair: "When you have slave labor, no environmental laws, no OSHA laws, and no labor laws, of course it's going to be cheaper" Iacovella also explains the mission of the American Securities Association as a non-Wall Street trade association representing approximately 100 member firms across the country. Its mission is to "promote investor trust and confidence and to facilitate the flow of capital to small businesses across America." Listen now to understand how your investments might be inadvertently supporting a foreign adversary and what you can do about it. Give the guys a listen and then follow and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts: ihr.fm/3InlkL8 The Story Keeps Getting Worse Hour 1 of the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show dives into several pressing topics. The show begins with a discussion on Harvard's tax-exempt status being rescinded under Trump's administration, highlighting the political implications and reactions from Democrats. The hosts then address the DOJ's stance on transgender athletes, focusing on safety concerns for young women competing against trans individuals. A poignant segment features Patty Morin, whose daughter was killed by an illegal alien, sharing her thoughts from a White House appearance. The conversation shifts to George Clooney's op-ed criticizing Biden, with the hosts debating the bravery of such statements. They also delve into the controversy surrounding Maryland Democrat Senator's visit to El Salvador, discussing the political and legal ramifications of deporting an alleged MS-13 gang member, Mr. Abrego Garcia. The Dems Choice of Resistance The hosts argue that Democrats have chosen a poor figure to represent their resistance to Trump's deportation policies, citing Garcia's criminal background, including domestic violence and suspected human trafficking. They juxtapose this with the tragic story of an American citizen killed by an illegal immigrant, emphasizing the Democrats' misplaced priorities. Throughout the hour, Clay and Buck engage in a heated debate on immigration policies, the rule of law, and the Democrats' stance on illegal immigrants. They invite listeners to share their opinions, questioning the rationale behind defending Garcia's return to the U.S. The show concludes with a discussion on the broader implications of immigration enforcement and the political landscape. Liberal Rules Hour 2 of the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show kicks off with breaking news about a shooting at Florida State University in Tallahassee. The conversation then shifts to New York Attorney General Letitia James, who is accused of mortgage fraud in Virginia and New York. The hosts highlight evidence suggesting AG James lied on her mortgage applications, which could lead to serious legal consequences. They emphasize the importance of holding powerful individuals accountable and discuss the potential fallout and next steps, including possible charges and investigations. The show also delves into the broader implications of prosecutorial misconduct, using hypothetical scenarios to illustrate the erosion of trust in the justice system when those in power commit crimes. The hosts speculate on the political and social ramifications for AG Letitia James, including potential defenses she might use and whether Democrats will rally behind her or distance themselves. TX AG Ken Paxton interview with Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who discusses his Senate run against incumbent John Cornyn. Paxton outlines his reasons for running, including his dissatisfaction with Cornyn's stance on gun restrictions, border security, and his criticism of President Trump. Paxton emphasizes his strong working relationship with Trump and his commitment to conservative values. The conversation shifts to legal matters, where Paxton critiques a judge's overreach in the case of Mr. Abrego Garcia, arguing that the judiciary should not interfere with executive decisions. He calls for congressional action to limit nationwide injunctions that lack factual or legal basis. The hosts also discuss the impact of Trump's presidency on Texas, particularly regarding border security. Paxton highlights the financial and safety benefits of Trump's policies, contrasting them with the previous administration's approach. Listeners from Texas are encouraged to engage with the upcoming primary, and Paxton shares polling data showing his lead over Cornyn. He discusses the challenges of running against an incumbent and the importance of voter turnout in the primary. Glenn and Stu discuss a controversial proposal for the 402-acre "EPIC City" near Dallas, where Texas Rangers are investigating claims that its leaders plan to uphold Sharia law over Texas law, which the development denies. Are we at risk of creating "no-go zones" like the ones in Europe? Glenn's chief researcher, Jason Buttrill, joins to discuss the global trade tensions, with Glenn declaring an official "trade war" with China and Europe's retaliatory tariffs, linking this to the strategic blunder of handing over Bagram Air Force Base to the Taliban. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton joins to discuss a proposed Islamic community near Dallas-Fort Worth that's under investigation for possibly favoring Sharia over U.S. law. AG Paxton also discusses his run for Senate against Texas Republican Sen. John Cornyn. Glenn lays out what's happening with the stock market and why panicking isn't helping. Salena Zito, national political reporter for the Washington Examiner and author of "Butler," joins to discuss the impacts of tariffs on small-town America and share the never-before-told stories of what happened on the ground during the first assassination attempt against Donald Trump.
