He's not alone, either, because people have spotted his wife Betsy, a young boy, and other ghostly figures wandering the cemetery at night. Some have even caught these figures on camera. Is this a real haunting, or just bad flash photography? And Brittany shares the story of Gloria Ramirez, whom the media dubbed The Toxic Lady after her death in 1994. Several hospital workers became ill after exposure to her body and blood. She was suffering from cervical cancer at the time, and while the cause of her death is known, the cause of the illness suffered by those who treated her at the time of her passing is a mystery. Was it caused by something mystical? A strange reaction to medications and oxygen? Mass hysteria? She had advanced cervical cancer and knew she needed immediate medical attention. In 1976, 3 assailants abducted a central California school bus full of children ages 5 to 14 and the bus driver, Ed Ray. They were driven around for 11 straight hours, then buried alive in a makeshift bunker. The ending is as pleasant as an ending could go all things considered. Then for Kevin's Spoopy Story, he takes listeners to Riverside, CA in 1994 with the mysterious case of Gloria Ramirez, the Toxic Lady! In a few short minutes, her frantic ER visit leaves 23 hospital staff stricken, passed out, hospitalized, or worse. No one hypothesis explaining the events has all of the answers. O atendimento inicial notou sintomas como palpitação cardíaca, dificuldade de respiração, pressão baixa e fala confusa. Embora Gloria tivesse um diagnóstico de câncer cervical, os sintomas eram incomuns para uma mulher na sua idade e condição. A equipe médica utilizou medicação sedativa e para o coração, além de ventilação mecânica. Como ela não estava respondendo, foi utilizado um desfibrilador para reanimá-la. Neste momento, alguns presentes perceberam que um brilho oleoso começou a aparecer pelo seu corpo, além dela exalar um cheiro de alho pela boca. Hoje, nossos investigadores Andrei Fernandes, Lucas Balaminut e Gabi Larocca convidam Belle Felix e falarão sobre caso de Gloria Ramirez que inspirou alguns episódios de séries: em Arquivo X, o episódio “The Erlenmeyer Flask” mostra um homem com sangue verde e gases saindo do corpo; e em Grey's Anatomy, no episódio “Wishin' and Hopin'”, uma paciente com câncer é internada no hospital e acaba deixando a equipe doente por causa do seu sangue tóxico, que na série é devido a uma reação entre um suplemento de ervas e a quimioterapia. On February 19, 1994, Gloria Ramirez presented to a ER in Riverside, California for heart palpitations and had late stages of cervical cancer.  Upon drawing her blood, multiple healthcare workers became ill, passed out, or had effects after being exposed to her blood.  Ultimately, the hospital evacuated the ER and 23 members of the healthcare team became ill and several were admitted to the hospital for complications. Sadly, shortly after arrival Ms. Ramirez was not responding to treatment and life saving measures were unsuccessfully attempted.  Because of the vast number of ill from exposure to her blood, she became known as the "Toxic Lady" by the media.  Was it an odd chemical reaction in a perfect storm or was it just mass hysteria as ruled by the Department of Health and Human Services?  We delve into these and many other questions on this replay of a medical mysteries episode of Just Some Podcast.  This episode is sponsored by Eko Health.  Find out more at Ekohealth.com and use code JSP for $50.00 off any stethoscope.
