Welcome to another transformative episode of the Daily Living for Christ podcast! Today, we take a deeper look at The Four Consents—a powerful framework for embracing humility, surrender, and divine union with God. These four consents—Life and Creation, Growth and Development, Limitation and Diminishment, and Transformation and Union—offer us a path to living freely in God's love, apart from striving or self-reliance.What does it mean to truly say yes to God? How does humility free us from both pride and despair? Through biblical insights, the wisdom of The Cloud of Unknowing, and Jesus' example of self-emptying (kenosis), we uncover how consenting to God's presence and action in our lives is the very definition of true humility. In this episode, we'll explore:✅ Consent to Life and Creation—Accepting that we are loved and redeemed by grace, not by effort✅ Consent to Growth and Development—Trusting God's work within us rather than striving for self-perfection✅ Consent to Limitation and Diminishment—Releasing control and embracing the freedom of surrender✅ Consent to Transformation and Union with God—Letting go of all that separates us from divine loveJesus said, “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matthew 11:29). The Four Consents reveal that His yoke is light because it is not about our effort, but our surrender. Are you ready to step into a deeper, freer, and more intimate walk with Christ? Life is filled with uncertainty, yet, whatever a new year brings, we can find strength and even joy through trust in God. This latest podcast episode talks about the determined decision to trust Him no matter what happens in life. Let's look at biblical insights from Isaiah 12:2 - - - continuing our "I WILLS to INSTILL" conversations. Listen in on this episode, then spend a few moments in personal devotions with this conversation guide.******“I WILLS TO INSTILL” - Convo #2: I Will Trust God“Indeed, God is my salvation; I will trust him and not be afraid, for the LORD, the LORD himself, is my strength and my song. He has become my salvation.” Isaiah 12:2 CSBSEEK HIM: Devotion is Meeting with God in Our Own Lives! A new year is filled with knowns and unknowns. And, while we can make plans, we can't choose everything about our lives. What we can choose is our mindset for living. Let's see how Isaiah 12:2 encourages us to say “I Will Trust God.” WHAT: What is God saying through this Scripture? This verse is about at least two things: God's character and our response. God tells us He is entirely capable of being our salvation, strength and song. He won't force these gifts upon us, though. Instead He lets us choose what we will do with all He offers us. ~ Have you accepted God's gift of salvation? If so, are you living by His strength or your own? WHY: Why does this Scripture matter? We have a daily choice: to live with fear and anxiety, or to trust God with our lives. God's Word promises, “The one who trusts in the Lord will be happy,” (Proverbs 16:20b). You can know if you're trusting God by examining whether stress or a song is echoing through your heart. ~ What do you need to trust God about today? How can trusting God lead to happiness? When you experience an unhelpful thought or emotion, how can you trust God with it? HOW: How does God want us to respond to this truth? Trusting God means that, no matter what happens, we choose to rely on His character and promises. This determined decision echoes the verse, “In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid.” (Psalm 56:4 CSB). ~ How can you praise God when you're going through something hard? How are you actively letting go of fear so you can hold onto trusting God's character and promises?SPEAK HIM: Discipleship is Making God Known to Others! A person who really, truly trusts God won't be afraid to speak up about it. Jesus said, “I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters; in the assembly I will sing your praises. And again, ‘I will put my trust in him.'” (Hebrews 2:12-13a NIV). We can follow Jesus' example and “Speak Him” to all those watching our lives. Who is watching you, and will you speak about your trust in Him today?© 2024 Tosha Lamdin Williams ______________________The Family Disciple Me ministry exists to catalyze devotion driven discipleship in our homes and around the world. Do you ever wonder where the thoughts in your head come from? Ever feel like, “That’s not me.” Maybe it isn’t you. The Bible tells us to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ. Then, prayer is a two-way street. God invites us to come to Him with our requests. And God also speaks to us in prayer. Are you listening? More importantly, are you obeying? Sarah had crossed an ocean for just this moment, to share Jesus with Muslim women. Sitting across the table from Sarah in the café was Maya a Muslim woman who had never heard about Jesus. And what God did next is what he’s preparing you to do! Last, when Shawna was walking the streets of the red-light district in South Asia she was tempted to feel afraid of the darkness. Instead, she saw the impact of the light shining through her to others. God’s light shines through you where you walk today!Support the show: https://give.moodyradio.org/fall-share?v=def&appeal=MRWM&_gl=1%2a142i9we%2a_ga%2aNTE4MTE5MmUtY2U1Yy00YmQ3LWU4MmUtNjEwYTQ5YzAyODRj%2a_ga_4WH1937046%2aMTY5NTExODEwMS4yOTkuMC4xNjk1MTE4MTAxLjYwLjAuMA..&_ga=2.197426156.215784306.1695059984-1182841406.166859587See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
This episode is a little bit different for me. This is part of a MasterClass I taught on Intuition and the story about my dog Jersey, who was such an incredible soul and my best friend for 17 years. My intuition guided me through her entire transition; including before it even began. It is a powerful story to share and I know in my heart someone needs to hear it. Whether you looking for a heartfelt story or want to let your intuition be your guiding light more in your life, this one is for you.
Is our country off track? And if so, how do we get it back on track? How does God view our nation? The Bible gives us much-needed perspective on this. Let's start answering this question with a big, important truth.
Today we are starting a new message series called, Why God? There are common questions we tend to ask. If you don't have a very good answer, then it can be a struggle to trust God. It's natural to try to figure out WHY. What is the source? We tend to think there's just once source. Either it's God. Or it was my own fault. Or it was the devil. Rather than it being simply this or that, many times there's numerous factors rolled together. There are different layers, like an onion. The Bible is God's Word to us, and it provides greater insight.

Today we get to hear a story about how God used His discipline to bring a man back to Him. We are talking with our friend Kevin Wilkinson. Kevin's story starts in Michigan where he came to know Christ at the age of 12 after his father who was an alcoholic was radically saved from that life and placed his faith in Jesus. This had a ripple effect on the family and the remainder of Kevin's growing-up years were spent being involved in church. Kevin was heavily involved in sports, playing baseball, basketball and football and eventually got a baseball scholarship to Kansas State University in 1969. He married a week after graduating and began a career in the travel industry. Kevin slowly began climbing the ladder of success and that was a feeling that he began to chase. He struggled to healthily handle the recognition and praise he was receiving and before he knew it his identity was placed in his work and achievements. Kevin eventually started his own business that was centered around youth sports tournaments but behind the scenes his marriage, relationship with his kids and relationship with God were struggling. Then almost out of the blue everything came crashing down and Kevin lost everything. In Kevin's words, God was using discipline to bring him back to where he needed to be - in the arms of the Father, releasing control. We so appreciate Kevin's humbleness and willingness to share about how the discipline of God ultimately brought restoration and healing. Kevin saw that he needed to engage with God in order to let go of control and let the Lord work in his life to repair and restore what had been lost.Would you please subscribe and leave us a review? Needless to say these are crazy times. Many of us could have the question of, "Why is God letting this happen?" Today we address this question and what we as entrepreneurs are called to do about what is happening. These are hard conversations, but they need to be had and heard. We have been given the gift of dreaming. Every entrepreneur has one, but so does every person we are called to work with. We are ready to lead by example so that the hope that has been anchored in us doesn't not fade. I hope this episode blesses you.
When our life is not going the way we planned, we use words like disturbing, unsettled or chaotic. The question we all tend to ask is “why?” After we ask why for a while and the situation doesn’t improve, we tend to add to the question… “why, God?” This usually leads us to one of three age-old theories. 1) God must be angry. 2) He didn’t stop it because he cant. 3) He just doesn’t really care about me. Maybe what you’re experiencing in this moment is the providence of God. This is a deeply theological, difficult situation to fully comprehend and requires a tremendous amount of faith. We prefer control over providence. We think when God doesn’t seem to be hearing us, we can take control, and make things better than He can. This typically leads to a line of unhealthy choices. However, it is in the crisis spaces of our lives, He does his best work. In life, crisis is normal, through crisis we get to see how fit our faith is. Speaker: Pastor Scott Stevens

I've known Carlos Kulas-Dominguez for YEARS but never knew about the event that changed his life until he shared with me just recently! His story of healing, hope and forgiveness is so inspiring and deserves to be shouted from the roof tops! His journey begins as a child growing up in inner-city Detroit surrounded by violence, gangs and drugs...yet striving for a better life, setting goals and achieving them. Eventually, feelings of invincibility set in and he acquired a "larger than life" mentality. That is, until something devastating shook his world and changed the trajectory of his life. Through the healing process, he uncovered layer upon layer needing repair in his quest for total health and wholeness. If you are in a place where you feel invincible (everything is going well, you are serving and doing good things, you are accomplishing things you set out to do) and yet you still feel a sense of emptiness, today's episode will not disappoint. Carlos will share how the following principles may help you in recovery as it did for him: ~Admitting you are powerless and surrendering your will to God ~Letting go of vices that hide your insecurities and begin working on deeper issues ~Learning to live outside of your comfort zone to truly receive the help you need ~Finding a place where you can relate to others in the same struggle, yet challenge yourself to change If his story has touched your life, please feel free to reach out and "friend" Carlos Kulas-Dominguez on facebook (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=686625975).
