Jake and Damian take stock and draw on five years of conversations with some of the world's highest performers. This episode strips everything back to four questions — the ones that, according to existential psychologist Tatiana Schnell, sit at the foundation of a meaningful life.Does your life add up? Do you feel you matter? Do you have a sense of purpose? And do you truly belong to something bigger than yourself? With clips from Dr Pippa Grange on vulnerability and team culture, rapper Aitch on the person who inspires him most, England Rugby League head coach Shaun Wane on finding purpose through adversity, and Dr Rangan Chatterjee on the hidden epidemic of loneliness, Jake and Damian don't just examine the questions — they answer them honestly.Jake opens up about growing up without a clear sense of purpose, the quiet loneliness of chasing success across jobs, and the moment he realised he had no one to call. Damian reflects on what it means for your life to genuinely cohere.Listen to the full episodes of guests featured:Dr Pippa Grange https://pod.fo/e/10bc10Aitch https://pod.fo/e/27ae56Shaun Wane https://pod.fo/e/259c4Dr Rangan Chatterjee https://pod.fo/e/115f19Revolut Business

Change Your Perspective - Karen Conrad Metcalfe (07 September 2025)
Summary: In this episode, Michael sits down with author and pastor Chip Ingram to explore what it means to choose joy—especially when life feels heavy. Chip shares how biblical joy is more than an emotion; it's a deliberate choice rooted in Christ, not our circumstances. Drawing from Philippians, he describes Paul's example of rejoicing in chains and challenges listeners to shift their perspective from personal comfort to God's purposes. Chip also recounts his own battle with discouragement during COVID—how exercise, worship, and helping others lifted him from a dark place and unexpectedly sparked a global pastoral training initiative that reached hundreds of thousands. Together, Michael and Chip address the struggle many face in finding purpose later in life, especially after retirement. They outline practical ways to identify God-given passions and live on mission, no matter the season. Finally, Chip offers a compelling picture of biblical hope—not wishful thinking, but confident expectation in Christ's return and Eden restored. This eternal perspective reframes suffering and anchors our joy in what's ahead rather than what we see now. Takeaways: Biblical joy comes from Christ and must be intentionally chosen, not based on circumstances or emotions. Paul's example in prison shows that joy grows when we focus on God's purposes instead of our own comfort. Discouragement can be fought through practical steps like exercise, worship, and serving others. Our God-given purpose continues into every season of life, even after retirement. Honest community and accountability help clarify calling and sustain long-term joy. Wayne Dyer taught us that perception creates reality. When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. In this episode, we explore how to stop low states like fear, guilt, or anxiety before they grow, and how to train your mind to live with more peace and purpose. Key Takeaways:✅ Your perception is your power: what you choose to see shapes your reality✅ Low states are like seeds: cut them early before they grow✅ Use the “I Am” to redefine your identity and your life✅ Purpose is found in service and connection✅ Change begins within, but grows stronger in community Make sure to subscribe and follow me for updates, tips, and more ways to stay in the flow! Thoughts Shift That Will Change Your Perspective:Perspective really is powerful. We can be our own worst enemies and get in our own way. All it can take is a different way of thinking to help us overcome that obstacle.Instead of saying “I'm not ready” say “No one really is”Stop calling it procrastination, start calling it fearDitch the guilt spiralInstead of saying “What if it goes wrong?” say “What if it's worth it?”Drop the idea that self-sabotage is about “low self-esteem”Stop romanticizing the struggleStop defining yourself by past mistakesStop thinking you need to “find your purpose”Consider fear a sign you're close to something bigLet go of the idea that “consistency” means doing it perfectlyQuestions To Ask Before Traveling With Your Pet: If you're planning on traveling with your pup this summer, there's a lot of planning involved. It's a popular trend with globalvetlink.com finding that “78-percent of American pet owners travel with their pets each year.” Are there dog-friendly accommodations?Would my dog enjoy this destination? Is the climate safe and comfortable for a dog?How long is the trip and how will they handle the transportation there? Can I bring everything I need to keep them safe and happy away from home?Is transit accessible to dogs? What are the rules, requirements and restrictions? Will there be easy access to veterinary care and other canine services?Once A Cheater, Always A CheaterA study followed close to 2-thousand participants over three years, having them play a series of games that measured dishonesty. According to the results, cheating isn't just the result of a mistake, it's a part of someone's personality that never goes away. When participants played games they were told study authors couldn't check to see whether their response was truthful or not. They could get away with lying about their answers and no one would know, and it turns out, many of them did. Over and over again over the three-years.Researchers found that if someone cheated in the first game, they were way more likely to cheat in the second and third games. Those who cheated were a lot more likely to do it again, no matter what the stakes or context were. But the reverse was also true, those who were honest in game one were much more likely to be honest in the other games.Study authors found two big predictors of chronic dishonesty: low scores in something called “Honesty-Humility” and high scores in the “Dark Factor,” which is a combination of narcissism, Machiavellianism and psychopathy personality traits. They also found if someone lies easily and often, it might just be who they are and not a momentary lapse in judgment.Second Date Update:Reagan and Tim had dinner in downtown Martinez. Reagan can't think of anything that would have turned Tim off on the date. However, she may have done something after the date.

This episode of the Legacy Podcast might wreck you—in the best way possible. I sat down with Chris Singleton, a former pro baseball player turned speaker, entrepreneur, and real estate investor… but more importantly, one of the most powerful voices on forgiveness and resilience you'll ever hear. Chris lost his mother in a racially motivated church shooting ten years ago. And somehow, after all that, he chose love. He built a movement, a speaking career, a real estate portfolio—and a life most people only dream about. In this episode, we talk about grief, hustle, faith, and building real wealth—financially and emotionally. Whether you're a real estate investor, entrepreneur, or just someone trying to be better every day... you need to hear this.
