How can we prepare for an uncertain world—physically, mentally, and spiritually—without living in fear? In this episode, Jesse Elder shares how true preparedness isn't just about stockpiling supplies, but also about mastering adaptability, intuition, and self-reliance. We explore the illusion of time, how imagination might be our future selves remembering us, and why embracing uncertainty sharpens our instincts. Jesse explains how perception shapes reality, how fear can be transmuted into resilience, and why the greatest survival skill is the ability to stay calm under pressure. Whether it's navigating societal shifts, unexpected crises, or personal challenges, this conversation offers a balanced, empowered approach to prepping for the worst while expecting the best.DISCLAIMER: This podcast is for educational purposes only and not intended for diagnosing or treating illnesses. At times life seems long, and at other times it seems almost fleeting. If we perceive our lives as ending someday, what do we want to accomplish, if anything, in that time? That very question can bring up a great deal of anxiety. So why don't we look t things from a different perspective; ask a different question. With this question answered and explored, we can become a bit (a lot) more peaceful. Life is filled with uncertainty, yet, whatever a new year brings, we can find strength and even joy through trust in God. This latest podcast episode talks about the determined decision to trust Him no matter what happens in life. Let's look at biblical insights from Isaiah 12:2 - - - continuing our "I WILLS to INSTILL" conversations. Listen in on this episode, then spend a few moments in personal devotions with this conversation guide.******“I WILLS TO INSTILL” - Convo #2: I Will Trust God“Indeed, God is my salvation; I will trust him and not be afraid, for the LORD, the LORD himself, is my strength and my song. He has become my salvation.” Isaiah 12:2 CSBSEEK HIM: Devotion is Meeting with God in Our Own Lives! A new year is filled with knowns and unknowns. And, while we can make plans, we can't choose everything about our lives. What we can choose is our mindset for living. Let's see how Isaiah 12:2 encourages us to say “I Will Trust God.” WHAT: What is God saying through this Scripture? This verse is about at least two things: God's character and our response. God tells us He is entirely capable of being our salvation, strength and song. He won't force these gifts upon us, though. Instead He lets us choose what we will do with all He offers us. ~ Have you accepted God's gift of salvation? If so, are you living by His strength or your own? WHY: Why does this Scripture matter? We have a daily choice: to live with fear and anxiety, or to trust God with our lives. God's Word promises, “The one who trusts in the Lord will be happy,” (Proverbs 16:20b). You can know if you're trusting God by examining whether stress or a song is echoing through your heart. ~ What do you need to trust God about today? How can trusting God lead to happiness? When you experience an unhelpful thought or emotion, how can you trust God with it? HOW: How does God want us to respond to this truth? Trusting God means that, no matter what happens, we choose to rely on His character and promises. This determined decision echoes the verse, “In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid.” (Psalm 56:4 CSB). ~ How can you praise God when you're going through something hard? How are you actively letting go of fear so you can hold onto trusting God's character and promises?SPEAK HIM: Discipleship is Making God Known to Others! A person who really, truly trusts God won't be afraid to speak up about it. Jesus said, “I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters; in the assembly I will sing your praises. And again, ‘I will put my trust in him.'” (Hebrews 2:12-13a NIV). We can follow Jesus' example and “Speak Him” to all those watching our lives. Who is watching you, and will you speak about your trust in Him today?© 2024 Tosha Lamdin Williams ______________________The Family Disciple Me ministry exists to catalyze devotion driven discipleship in our homes and around the world. Fr. Brendan McGuire - Podcasts that Break open the Word of God
There are layers of irony here that Matthew is trying to communicate to his Jewish audience, kind of waking them up. “Hey, hello. It is the Messiah. The Messiah was born. You need to go to Jerusalem. You need to leave Jerusalem and go to Bethlehem.” But they missed the point. Why did they miss the point? It is because they are so rooted in their own belief, their own perspective. Today we had the pleasure of meeting Guru Benny, a marriage and family therapist who also creates thought provoking content on self development and spirituality. Her mission is to help others heal their trauma, strengthen their interpersonal relationships and improve their perceptions of the world. During this conversation we talk about how her experience with death was the catalyst to her beginning this work and how the challenging times in her life have allowed her the most growth. She shares how the Law of Polarity states that as long as darkness exists, there will be an equal amount of light, and whatever we choose to focus on, we will create more of. We also dive into the energy of attracting the things you want into your life and how spending time alone can lead to clarity on how to create a positive impact in the world. In this episode of our silent retreat series, we delve into "Lesson 2: Assumptions" and "Lesson 3: Ego." Join us as we explore the profound impact assumptions and ego can have on our personal and professional lives.Assumptions can create barriers and lead to misunderstandings, both in the workplace and in our personal relationships. During the silent retreat, Philippa learned how quickly we form assumptions about others based on limited information. These assumptions can keep us stuck in old patterns and prevent us from seeing the true potential in ourselves and others.Following on from Assumptions, the ego influences how we perceive ourselves and others. A healthy ego allows us to maintain a balanced and robust sense of self, whereas an unhealthy ego can lead to defensiveness, self-doubt, and conflict. By understanding and managing our ego, we can respond to challenges with greater resilience and openness.By becoming aware of our assumptions and ego, we can start to question them and open up new possibilities. This episode offers practical tips on how to break free from limiting assumptions and how to cultivate a healthy ego for more positive interactions.Challenge your assumptions, manage your ego, and enhance your leadership skills through mindful awareness and intentional actions.ResourcesWant to a FREE taste of 4D OnDemand?Sign up for your 4D OnDemand membership today: https://www.4dhumanbeing.com/4d-ondemand/Read more about Relationship and Leadership Lessons from a 10 Day Silent Retreat in our latest blog post: https://www.4dhumanbeing.com/relationship-and-leadership-lessons-from-a-10-day-silent-retreat/Follow us:

A couple of announcements: I have spaces for my PR workshop on 27th June. Also, for our 100th episode, I want to record in front of a live audience. Email pa@toksaruoture.com if you're interested. Recapping last week, we discussed how our perspective on circumstances affects our growth. Today, we'll delve into the benefits of seeing circumstances as neutral. This perspective enables us to see opportunities even in difficult times. Recently, I faced a tough week, but through it, I learned to trust in God's invisible realm beyond our physical world. This trust helps us navigate challenges with the understanding that God is working for our good. To change our perspective during tough times: 1. Embrace dual realities. There can be good amidst challenges. 2. Rest when tired, don't quit. Busyness can drown out divine guidance. 3. Acceptance. Identify the lies in your thoughts and counter them with God's truth. If you need support, email pa@toksaruoture.com. As a certified coach, I help individuals overcome limiting thoughts. Connect with me on social media @toksaruoture. Before we go, let's pray. Dear Jesus, I pray for the listener. Help them navigate this season, fulfil their potential, and take the next step. Amen. Thank you for listening. God bless you. Be a man that strives after the dreams and mission God has put on your heart, but enjoy the process along the way and live with gratitude and joy each day. Here are 4 ways to help you enjoy the present while still pursuing big dreams: 1. Develop a Lifestyle of Reflection When we don't take time to stop, reflect on our lives, ask ourselves good questions, acknowledge the wins, identity things we are grateful for, we are not allowing ourselves to grow to the full. 2. Stop Comparing Yourself to Others Comparison can be the thief of joy. Oftentimes, comparing yourself to people who are ahead (or seem to be) of you causes us to lose sight of our mission. If you are going to compare, compare your current self to your former self. Acknowledge the progress you are making and celebrate the wins in the process. 3. Change Your Perspective on Failure and Discomfort Here is the shift in mindset that you must make…experiencing some failures and making mistakes is not a sign of weakness, it is actually a sign that you are growing, progressing, and pursuing something that is worth pursuing. Failure and discomfort are positives because it means that you are learning and growing. They are positives because it means you are on the right path. 4. Celebrate Your Wins with Others Have some guys (or one other guy) that you meet with consistently to celebrate your wins. This forces you to think about the things that are going well, and it teaches you to learn how to celebrate the wins of others instead of comparing yourself to others.

Duane and Chad Stroh are the father and son that lead the team at Healthy Harvest in Berthoud, CO, which also includes Duane's wife and Chad's sister, and one red-headed step-child in a key operations role. They were initially involved as investor-partners of the business, but as partners departed and their market awareness grew they pivoted the company to specialize in production and wholesale distribution of non-GMO cooking oils across Colorado - and entering new markets across the American West. They also offer nationwide direct-to-consumer oil sales through their website and on Amazon. In a previous chapter, the family operated a conventional grain farm and feedlot near Holyoke, where Duane was also the wrestling coach for many years. When Duane met a man with a persistent infection caused by exposure to antibiotic-resistant bacteria on a hog farm, he started investigating the drug and chemical-laden conventional farming industry. And - when his brother died at an early age of lymphoma, he remembered how that brother was the one responsible for spraying Roundup around the farmyard and mixing the sprayer tanks. And long story short - the family decided to sell out of their farm and feedlot and change their business as a result of this change in perspective. What I love about Duane is that he's a lot like my dad - the secret to success in farming or in business is math! And what I love about Chad is that he is focused on the impact of marketing, technology, and relationships to build long-term business value. Together, they're a formidable pair, and I'm excited to see their business continue to grow and help more and more non-GMO farmers share their Healthy Harvests with the world. So please enjoy, as I did, my conversation with Duane and Chad Stroh. The LoCo Experience Podcast is sponsored by: Logistics Co-op | https://logisticscoop.com/

In this Special Edition episode of the Books for Men podcast, host Douglas Vigliotti discusses how to read more. He addresses the common desire to read more and emphasizes that reading should be a personal choice and not a competition. Vigliotti suggests three strategies for reading more: changing your mindset by focusing on pages read instead of books, following your interests and reading what you enjoy (not what someone tells you you should be reading), and using tracking (as a tool) to hold yourself accountable. He acknowledges that reading more is not necessary and encourages listeners to do what they truly want to do. Vigliotti also invites listeners to share the podcast and subscribe to support the initiative of inspiring more men to read.If you enjoyed this episode, please consider supporting the podcast. Any of the three things below will help provide awareness for the initiative—inspiring (more) men to read and bringing together men who do. Habakkuk, a minor prophet with the major message. His message wasn't unique, but he kept an important perspective we should all take, “I will rejoice.” Where does he get this perspective and how can we apply it to our lives today?
