We're back with another awesome interview episode!! PLUS, this one comes from another amazing team, coming out of Fanbase Press!! Man, how many awesome creators are they helping live their dreams!! Our latest interview is from the team behind the comic book, Nuclear Power! We got to speak with Desiree, Erica, and Lynne. Desiree Proctor and Erica Harrell are the writers, and have worked on other projects like Telltale Games, The Walking Dead, and DC Comics New Talent Showcase! Lynne Yoshii is the illustrator, and has also worked on the DC Comics New Talent Showcase, as well Gotham City Garage, and Inside the Loop. Nuclear Power Synopsis - "October of 1962. The Cold War between the US and the Soviet Union is at its peak when the unthinkable happens: nuclear war. Sixty years later, the remaining 13 states rose from the ashes to form the American Union, governed by the authoritarian Joint Chiefs of Staff and protected by a border wall to keep out nuclear radiation . . . and the individuals who were enhanced by it. Nuclear Power is a darkly poignant alternate history tale that posits the lengths to which a government will go to protect (or deceive) its citizens. When the Joint Chiefs’ dark secrets are revealed, will survivors on both sides of the wall join forces to fight for their right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, or will their differences forever divide them?" Remember, we are ALWAYS looking for feedback from our listeners! Whether you want to talk to us about a topic we spoke about on a show, or want to bring up your own topics, you can let your opinion/voice be heard! You can send your emails HERE. The conversation doesn't just end on the shows either, hopefully you'll engage with us on Facebook, Twitter, and our Instagram pages!. This week: In the distant future, America has become a wasteland, all save one unexpected haven: Gotham City, a forcibly domesticated utopia run by Governor Lex Luthor with the aid of his brutal enforcer, the Bat. Young Kara Gordon has no idea what lies outside Gotham's borders, but she's about to find out! When an act of mercy pits Kara against Luthor's forces and even her own sister, Barbara Gordon, she flees into the "freescape," a desert fought over by motorcycle clubs, chief among them the Gotham City Garage. These tougher-than-tough women--among them unexpected versions of Harley Quinn, Catwoman and more--quickly learn that Kara is more than she appears, even before she demonstrates superpowers that reveal her to be more than human! They may even embrace Kara as one of their own, but only if she lives long enough! DC's greatest heroes and villains are reimagined as bikers in Gotham City Garage Vol. 1, based on the stunning line of DC Collectibles statues! Next Week: Welcome to Neo-Tokyo, built on the ashes of a Tokyo annihilated by a blast of unknown origin that triggered World War III. The lives of two streetwise teenage friends, Tetsuo and Kaneda, change forever when paranormal abilities begin to waken in Tetsuo, making him a target for a shadowy agency that will stop at nothing to prevent another catastrophe like the one that leveled Tokyo. At the core of the agency’s motivation is a raw, all-consuming fear of an unthinkable, monstrous power known only as Akira.Katsuhiro Otomo’s stunning science fiction masterpiece is considered by many to be the finest work of graphic fiction ever produced, and Otomo’s brilliant animated film version is regarded worldwide as a classic.
This Week: Earth Sucks. Steal a Spaceship. Earth sucks. The stars have been blocked out for so long that people have forgotten there was anything else besides the World Government Alliance watching over them. Uma Akkolyte is a girl who shoots first, leaps before she looks, and is desperate for any means to leave her planet behind. And so she does. When Uma jacks an alien spaceship and punches through the stratosphere she sets forth on an adventure with an unlikely crew who are totally not ready for all the good, bad, and weird the universe will throw at them.
