It was a pleasure to interview Jude, who is one of the most talented guitarists on this great island of ours. Acid Age play an exciting brand of Thrash/Technical Death Metal which is mixed with Jazz Fusion and a few other styles as well. The trio released a brand new album in 2021 titled "Semper Pessimus", which is a concept album based around Nero, the last emperor of the Julio-Claudian dynasty. Acid Age have a strong back catalog of releases dating back to their first E.P in 2013 and are really looking forward to touring "Semper Pessimus" around Ireland and further afield. My co-host Joe from Gama Bomb and Jude have shared stages together so there was plenty of stories about the Metal Scene both here and in the North. Our Very Special Guest Today is Miles Zuniga | Vocalist & Guitarist in Fastball Fastball is an American rock band that formed in Austin, Texas in 1995. The band originally called themselves Magneto U.S.A. but changed their name after signing with Hollywood Records Miles Zuniga Quotes from the Exclusive TJS Interview w/ Kat Zuniga Quotes: “It's discipline. I have met so many songwriters, but they're not really songwriters. And they always make the same mistake, which is: ‘I have to be inspired.' Well you are never going to do anything if you are waiting around for inspiration. Yes, inspiration is the rocket fuel that really gets the job done. But as they say, the muse like to see you working. So if you are just sitting around waiting you are wasting your time. You need to be disciplined about it, and you need to do it as often as possible. Do it all the time.” “When you are creating, think of it as cement. As long as the cement is wet, you can go anywhere. Once the cement dries, you're f***ed. You can no longer create. And when that happens to you it's because you got attached to an idea.” http://www.fastballtheband.com All the Pain Money Can Buy Anniversary edition

For 41 years this unique, genre-crossing vocal/guitar jazz duo has cast its passionate musical spell worldwide, capturing the hearts of lovers, the respect of jazz buffs and the jaw-dropping awe of guitarists and singers. To understand Tuck & Patti, start with the wellspring of love within them, then their music begins to make perfect sense. Married 38 years, Tuck Andress and Patti Cathcart continue to stoke the fires, not only of their own love, but also of their love of life and their passion for making music together. They have a long-standing tradition: Minimalist arrangements featuring Tuck's extraordinary virtuosity and Patti's rich mezzo soprano. Patti, renowned for her remarkable ability to touch hearts directly with her voice, exudes the soft, centered yet powerful graciousness of a gospel singer; Tuck almost wears his brain on his skin, anticipating the thousands of musical decisions he'll have to send to his ten fingers during the course of a performance. Seeing the virtuosity and complexity of Tuck's guitar work, most are surprised to learn that Patti is the actual writer, arranger and producer. Without even blinking, Tuck-the-problem-solver brags, "Patti writes and arranges; I am just the orchestra." www.tuckandpatti.com www.joekelleyradio.com

Madison Roe’s talents and rich songwriting abilities have been compared to current artists such as Adele, Hozier, James Bay, Ed Sheeran & John Mayer. It has also been said one can detect influences from Jeff Buckley, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Coldplay, Sound Garden, Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles in her sound. These are all artists & bands from the past & present that she listens to & loves. Some even say Madison Roe’s mature lyrics have a hint of the poetic genius and quality storytelling that is found in the works of iconic artists - Leonard Cohen & Bob Dylan. This week on the podcast I welcome my old friend Scottie Redix. Scottie played drums in The Stryder (he'd later switch to guitar/vocals) as well as Yearly. He's also known for his Cassanova Brown project as well as playing for Teachers. We take a deep dive on his music career specifically drilling down on his time in The Stryder. We'll talk how he met Peter Toh and how they collaborated in a project that would ultimately be Yearly, we talk the end of Yearly with bassist Eben D'Amico's departure to join Saves the Day and how that sets up the formation of The Stryder. We talk about the signing with Equal Vision Records, how that came about, the making of Masquerade in the Key of Crime, working with Brian McTiernan, and specifically how the audio of that record ended up sounding. We'll also talk about John's departure from the band and the addition of Durjiah Lang of Glassjaw fame on the drums which saw Scottie switching to Guitar/Vocals, The making of Jungle City Twitch, the change in sound from Masquerade to Jungle City, troubles with booking shows, troubles with EVR and the ultimate end of the band. This is a conversation you don't want to miss. If you're like me, a fan of The Stryder and wondered what the hell ever happened to these guys, here's your answers. A conversation 17 years in the making! Lee Rose is the lead singer and principal song writer for Toronto's "Ace of Wands". Great Lyrics and and song writing makes this band. They are true to their sound and ethic in todays fickle musical landscape. Their debut LP is titled "Lioness" and it was recorded a few songs at a time until there was a record. ace of wands is a trio that has Anna Mernieks on Guitar/Vocals and Jody Brumell on drums. AOW approached this album different than conventional albums by starting with voice and guitar. the drums and instruments came later when the feeling of the song was set. I encourage you all to go get their music!
