We may be witnessing the most culturally complacent church this country has ever seen. Millions of Christians have bought into two demonic lies: 1. “The separation of church and state” – That your faith is private and doesn't belong in the public square. 2. We need to stay out of politics and the culture war.As a result, evil is proliferating in every corner of our society, Christians are failing to be salt and light in our culture, and we've decided not to be His Ambassadors of reconciliation. I believe prosperity has led to a complacent and cowardly church but persecution always leads to a courageous church.Meet Dan Steiner.Daniel serves as founder and chair of PreBorn! Under his leadership, PreBorn! has grown into the single most successful pro-life mission in the world, seeing over 77,000 commitments to Christ. In the 1930s, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt saw war coming with Hitler's Germany even as he reconciled the isolationism of American politics with his own internationalist instinct.  Ambassador David McKean tells the story of FDR's personal reliance on his hand-picked ambassadors to Europe in the critical years before America's entry into World War II. David McKean served as United States Ambassador to Luxembourg from 2016-2017.  He currently serves as a Consensus member at the American Security Project and is a Visiting Distinguished Fellow at the German Marshall Fund of the United States.  Previously, he was the Director of Policy Planning at the U.S. Department of State, beginning in February of 2013.  There, he also served as a Senior Advisor to Secretary of State Clinton for the Quadrennial Diplomacy and Development Review.  He is the recipient of the State Department's Distinguished Honor Award and Superior Honor Award.  McKean spent two decades working in the United States Congress: serving as chief of staff to Senator John Kerry from 1999 to 2008 and chief of staff to Representative Joseph P. Kennedy II from 1993 to 1994.  He served as staff director for the United States Senate Foreign Relations Committee from 2009 to 2010, and minority staff director for the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations from 1998 to 1999.  McKean was a key player in laying the groundwork for the Senator Kerry's presidential campaign in 2004 and was a co-chairman of the Senator's presidential transition team.  In 1997 and 1998, he served as the Minority Staff Director for the U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.  McKean is the author of four books on American political history: “Friends in High Places” with Douglas Frantz, “Tommy the Cork,” “The Great Decision” with Cliff Sloan, and “Watching Darkness Fall: FDR, His Ambassadors, and the Rise of Adolf Hitler,” which was published in 2021. Take Me To Church | Living On Mission pt.1 | Matthew Anderson

This morning, Pastor Matthew continued on with our Take Me To Church series on the topic of living on mission. God is not angry, He is good. If God was angry, He wouldn't have sent Himself. Too many of us live as if God is near, but angry. He loves us and wants us to be in relationship with Him and one another. God's plan has always been His people being His Ambassadors spreading His glory in every corner of the earth. From the beginning, humanity's problem has always been that we think we know better than God. When we read through the Bible, we see that the narrative has always been – I am going to bless you, now go and be a blessing. Living on mission is part of God's design for us. Pastor Matthew made three primary points: 1. Doing flows from being. We must be people who start with understanding who God is, and who we are in Him. We go beneath the surface, we become emotionally healthy, and we minister from that place of solid identity in Jesus, and His purposes for us. We need to slow down enough that we receive from the Lord, and minister and live from that place. When we do flow from being, we find abundant joy and life in Him. 2. Mission God's way: with people. The whole Bible is about God being with people. He loves people, and He desires to be with them. If we are going to live on mission God's way, we need to learn to be with people. We have to slow down so that we can actually be present with people. We must allow people to know us, as well as take the time to know others. 3. Mission God's way: for people. Too many Christians have a reputation of being against things, instead of for people. God is not against people. The kindness of the Lord leads people to repentance, and not us being against them. Jesus did not come to condemn the world, He came to save it.

The Messianic CovenantThe last few Podcast Episodes have been about the Davidic Covenant and then a reminder of why we were looking into the covenants. One of the last things I mentioned was that it helps us to understand God's plan to be His Ambassadors and His representatives of these Covenants, and it helps us take a look at how they play out in the Bible, in our lives and for our future. The time frame of some of these covenant promises from God overlap in History and our Future:Edenic: From the beginning of the Garden of Eden to the end of Genesis 2 when Adam sinned Adamic: Genesis 3 to as long as there is sin on the EarthNoahic: From the Ark to the end of rainbowsAbrahamic: Lasts until the end of the Millennium Mosaic: Lasted from Receiving the Law at Mt Sinai to the death of Jesus on the crossDavidic: From the days of David's Kingdom, renewed to Mary Luke 1:31-33 and fulfilled through Jesus until the end of time. Messianic or New Covenant: Applies to ALL who are saved through Faith in the finished work of Jesus on the Cross from Adam onward. Only two of the Covenants had conditions attachedDo you remember which ones they were? One was the Edenic (Don't eat of the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil)The Other was the Mosaic Law: This was given solely to the People of Isreal. It ended with the Death of Jesus. Well technically it ended then. However many kept trying to crawl back under this old covenant known as the Law, rather than looking forward to the New Covenant of grace. Marriage, it's what brings us together today. Do you recall that movie line? Marriage ceremonies have changed over the years. Currently it looks like a contract between two people that can be broken when feelings change, that is why a prenuptial agreement comes in handy today, for those who look at marriage as a contract that is breakable at one point down the road. But remember we looked at how God intended a marriage to be. In fact a marriage covenant was a representation of the Covenant relationship God made with mankind. There is no relationship with God outside of a Covenant. Are you in a covenant with God right now? If you are, do you know which one, or ones? Can you state the benefits and responsibilities of the Covenant that you are a part of with God? If not, you might want to go back through the Covenant Series again and take notes, or just check out the Blog Posts that coincide with each Episode and compare it to your Bible. Our current culture tends to look at love as something to be received. The Old Testament describes the love of God as His loving kindness, or loyal love. It is pictured in the Book of Ruth 3 times and is described as headed love or lovingkindness, loyal love, and is Expressed through actionsExpressed as genuine concern for othersDemonstrated as strong devotion to anotherThe Christian Wedding is actually filled with symbolism about the making of a covenant. We spoke of the Making of a Covenant in past Episodes. The Hebrew word for Covenant is Berith. The root word of Berith is “to cut”. A blood covenant was a formal, binding agreement between two parties. In the Old Testament it was done by the cutting of an animal, who's blood was shed to make the agreement binding. In the New Covenant the Better sacrifice, Jesus, gave His own blood to make the covenant binding and the shedding of blood no longer necessary. Then the two parties would walk through the middle of the animal sacrificeIn Old Testament times, this ground they walk on through the sacrifice was considered holy ground. They would then pledge and promise all their rights, possessions, and benefits to the other party. They would exchange belts, and their outer coat, and take some part of the other...

There's no greater delight God has than to see us (His Ambassadors) carry out our duties in expressing and expanding His kingdom. The kingdom of God is not categorised into a "religious idealogy". No! Once you hear about the kingdom of God, only one thing should come to mind. And that is, a person (King) called Jesus Christ. It is by him we gain relevance in the expression and expansion of the kingdom. And there's no greater way to doing this than to keep praying kingdom prayers. The best and surest ways to expand the kingdom of God is to make kingdom prayers devoid of self gratification and desire.

Pastor Chuck Ryan   Jesus asked, “Who do you say that I am?”   Text: Mark 8:27-30 Thesis: God is calling believers to have a mature understanding of the nature of Jesus Christ so that they can be His “Ambassadors” to a lost world.   Jesus is concerned that people have correct knowledge of who he is. (vss27-18). Jesus asked, “Who do they say that I am?” Jesus was concerned about people in general knowing who He was. Christians should ask, “do the people I am visiting with know that Jesus is God and why he came?” Jesus is God! “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1) Jesus became flesh and blood! “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14) Jesus came to seek and save! “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." (Luke 19:10) God has called all Christians to be His “ambassadors”. “We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.” (2 Cor. 5:20) Because God is calling us, it is a high calling! God himself, is “making his appeal through us.”   Jesus is concerned that his disciples have a correct understanding of who he is. (vs29) Jesus asked a second question, “Who do you say that I am.” Peter answered the question correctly. “You are the Christ (or Messiah)” Jesus' primary concern for his disciples was for them to have a clear understanding of who he was and why he came. (See answer above) Jesus would be leaving in a few short years and it was vital that his disciples have a clear understanding of his divine nature and his desire to be the savior of the world. Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John14:6) Jesus desires for his disciples to grow in the knowledge of him. (See Ephesians 4:1-16) “until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:13) “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6) Not being immature and being tossed about. “Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming.” (Ephesians 4:14) “Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness.” (Hebrews 5:13)

This quarter we are focusing on Extending the Kingdom, one of our core values. This month's focus is Being Ambassadors. As Christians, we are called to the adventure of representing Jesus to everyone around us. We are His Ambassadors—and we are destined to carry His Kingdom of love every where we go. But as Apostle Grace Awor teaches in this podcast, love is not a feeling, love should not be selective and we should avail no other love but replicate that love that God showed to the whole world. Love is a commitment, a decision and above all a commandment.Click Here to Listen to Apostle Grace Awor's Message
