Podcasting is the future of content. Are you ready to master it? Join Dan Sullivan, Shannon Waller, and industry veteran Paul Colligan as they dive into the business of podcasting, from where it was to where it's going. With over 20 years of trailblazing experience, Paul shares secrets to podcasting success and the mindsets that separate the amateurs from the pros. Learn how to create a hit show and leverage this booming medium to skyrocket your business influence and growth. Here's some of what you'll learn in this episodeWhat it was like in the early days of podcasting. The factors that led to podcasting becoming what it is today. What entrepreneurs love about podcasting.Dan and Shannon's early experiences with podcasting. How podcasts let you find people who share your mindset and values. The type of people who are plugged into podcasting.Predictions on the future of podcasts. Show Notes: It takes less than five minutes to submit your podcast to Audible for free. And you're in the directory less than 10 minutes later. It's always mindset that stops people from trying something new. The value of the content needs to be understood as greater than its packaging. The best thing about podcasting is the speed of creation. It's easy to tell when a podcaster is following a script. In a good podcast, you don't know what the second question will be until you've asked the first question. If you try to control the experience of a podcast, you lose the authenticity of the end product. Listeners feel like they have a personal relationship with podcasters. Podcasting has had a profound impact on how politicians speak. People now use the podcast standard for judging all public speaking. Podcasts are only popular in countries where they have cell phones. The only problem with new media is when you treat it like old media. Resources: The Gap and the Gain by Dan Sullivan and Ben HardyPodcast: Podcast Payoffs with Dan Sullivan and Gord VickmanPodcast: 10xTalk with Dan Sullivan and Joe PolishPodcast: Shannon Waller's Team SuccessThe Team Success Handbook by Shannon WallerAI As Your Teammate by Evan RyanWho Not How by Dan Sullivan and Ben Hardydescript.comArticle: “Scary Times” Success Manual: How To Be A Leader When Times Get ToughArticle: Your Business Is A Theater Production: Your Back Stage Shouldn't Show On The Front StageThe Positive Focus®Once You're Lucky, Twice You're Good by Sarah Lacy

He is the Executive director of the Say No To Drugs Charity Race. Steven Fry's goal is "to be the wild card that ups the ante and redefines the game."It wasn't an easy start for Steve. He was the youngest of 6 siblings and his family was just scraping by financially. His poor grades early in high school pointed toward a bleak future but a high school guidance councillor allowed him to take academic courses in grade 11 and Steve was determined to get the grades he needed to be accepted into University.Through these early obstacles, Steve learned a thing or two about advocating for himself, negotiation and hard work. He worked two jobs to pay for University. Steve is the guy that was featured in Toronto Life's 2019 story - "Confessions of a Legal Pot Dealer". After University, he entered the world of health care and climbed the ladder at Shared Services West becoming the Vice-President of Operations. After hearing a radio ad for the cannabis lottery in Ontario that would award 25 people with the license to open a legal cannabis store, Steve thought "why not me". He applied and forgot all about it until he received a FB message from a friend that asked if the Steve Fry he saw as a winner was him. At that point, Steve's life changed Steve opened and operated the first licensed cannabis store in Hamilton, and became President and Co-founder of Sessions Cannabis, which has 25 retail locations and is growing. He is an industry trailblazer and in this episode, he provides great advice on negotiation skills, hard work, and networking.

This week we welcome Lew Harriman for a discussion about the new ASHRAE document "Damp Buildings, Human Health and HVAC Design". The new document is intended to provide clear guidance for consultants, building owners/managers and others on measuring and managing moisture in buildings. Lew Harriman was a contributor to the EPA guidance for Moisture Control in Buildings, the EPA’s Guidance for Air Cleaners and most recently the ASHRAE Special Publication titled: Damp Buildings, Human Health and HVAC Design. After college and a 5-yr stint in the US Air Force, Lew worked for a manufacturer of industrial dehumidification systems for 10 years, before beginning a second, 32-year career as a humidity control and building forensic consultant. He operated his one-person firm under the name Mason-Grant until 2018, when he retired from active consulting and took the tongue-in-cheek title of “Emeritus Director of Research” because he says likes the sound of it. Still, he seems unable to off-load his attachment to ASHRAE volunteer work, since he continues to serve as a humidity and filtration consultant to ASHRAE's COVID-19 Epidemic Task Force.   This episode follows up our series we call the Moisture Mob Episodes. This week the Moisture Mob returns for the 5th show in the series by delving into the Hardwood Flooring sector of the industry and exploring how moisture impacts the installation, use, warranty and life of installed hardwood flooring. The Restoration Global Watchdog says, join the Z-man and Radio Joe for an intimate ‘fireside chat” show with Howard Brickman, a pioneer and trailblazer in the hardwood flooring industry!   Howard was a charter member of the NWFA (wood flooring association) and served for years as the manger for inspections and school services for NOFMA  (oak flooring association). He has consulted on or been contracted for many high profile custom installations such as as the Great Hall in Boston’s famous tourist attraction Faneuil Hall. Howard is a self described, “Carpenter-in-Overalls” and served as a technical consultant for the well known home improvement TV show with Bob Vila called, “Home Again”. Hardwood flooring adds significant value and beauty to a home or commercial space. True hardwood flooring (compared to manufactured wood or simulated flooring, sometimes referred to as “was wood”) can be the most common use of an oak tongue and groove to exotic imported wood varieties from the Amazon. The US Department of Agriculture Forest Products Laboratory publishes a map of the United States showing the variance in moisture content in hardwood flooring based on time of year and climate zone. Knowing how moisture affects hardwoods based on the type of substrate used, time of year installed and acclimation time required can make the difference between the success or failure of the project. How are finishes affected by a water intrusion and what techniques are used to access the damage and decide if a floor can be restored or must be replaced? What kind of considerations should a property owner be aware of regarding full refinishing or “screening” a blistered finish on a hardwood floor affected by flooding or simply from high humidity conditions such as an unattended vacation residence? Can severe cupping or crowning of the boards be corrected  with specialty drying techniques or “tricks of the trade” and what about those “black” marks around the nails, are they permanent? What is the useful life of a hardwood installation and how many times can it be refinished? This week IAQradio+ listeners will hear answers to these questions and other issues addressed involving the installation, use, restoration considerations from water damage and how this high value item gives the building’s decor warmth and atheistic beauty unlike any other finished flooring!  Pete Consigli  opines, with most of the world in social isolation and getting “cabin fever”, why not call in live this week to hear Cliff and Joe banter with Howard Brickman, an icon in the hardwood flooring industry!

[5:23] What level would someone have to be at for you to tell them to try Magento? [7:00] Other ecommerce platforms to consider. [9:11] The main differences between BigCommerce and Volusion. [24:04] The role of reporting in ecommerce platforms. [28:19] Comparison shopping engines and other tips. [31:01] How to connect with Travis. In this episode… With over a decade of experience in the ecommerce industry, it’s clear Travis is a guru. He’s the go to guy for insight into the business, tips on selecting the right platform, and so much more. In this chat with Jeremy, Travis offers insight into the top ecommerce platforms, including how to choose the right one for your budget. When it’s time to select an ecommerce platform and you aren’t sure which way to go, there’s no better guy to ask than Travis. As an innovator in the field, Travis has a comprehensive understanding of the pros and cons of each platform, including (perhaps most importantly) which one is best for your budget. He shares tips on his top 3 platforms - Magento, BigCommerce, and Volusion - including what’s great and not so great about each one. Travis starts with an in-depth analysis of Magento, including why it’s not the right choice for fledgling businesses with a smaller budget. He also shares insight into some of the things that make Magento stand out from other ecommerce platforms in terms of ease of use, functionality, and versatility. Travis goes on to share the main issue with Magento: an absence of scalability. The solution? Take a look at BigCommerce and Volusion. When comparing BigCommerce and Volusion, it’s clear that some of the things that make Magento great are missing. But what’s also clear is that these are 2 great options for smaller businesses without a monster budget. Travis discusses the pros and cons of each platform, in order to simplify the selection process for companies in search of the right platform. Travis closes by offering tips on reporting, search, and other essential functions - including how each platform performs.
