Jordana is one of America’s most widely respected drum & bass artists. In that field alone, she has already achieved a lifetime’s success and secured her legacy with albums and EPs. As a hate crime survivor herself, her activism is close to home and as personal as the music she makes. It is an exquisite heart-on-sleeve selection that isn’t afraid of a big vocal or a euphoric synth line, but is just as open to a flurry of hardcore breaks and gritty bass. Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman and this installment marks my 46th episode of "VideoFuzzy," my twice-monthly progress report on cataloging now more than 2,800 VHS transfers and digital recordings. In this installment, titled "Podcast by the NUMB3RS," I put a shoulder into a third season episode of "NUMB3RS" and talk about it for my Friday Night Feature. In Cross Connections, I trace connections from "NUMB3RS," "Fear Itself," "Boston Legal," "Happy!" "Grizzly Bear Stakeout" and "Polar Bear Family and Me." In the VHS-to-DVD transfers I talk about for my Classic Collection, I found episodes of "Commander in Chief," "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," "Monty Python's Flying Circus," an altogether ooky frame from an M&Ms commercial with the M&Ms dressed as The Addams Family, and music videos by The All American Rejects, The Killers, Lady Sovereign, Paris Hilton and Fergie. In Crowdsourcing, I need some help with a "Shakespeare for Complete Idiots" sketch from MADtv featuring Josh Meyers. I'm looking for help identifying his co-star in that sketch in Crowdsourcing Exhibit F, with screencaps here. In my direct-to-DVD Current Collection, I bring in episodes of "BoJack Horseman," "Will & Grace," "Miracle Workers," "Grey's Anatomy," "Fosse Verdon," "Happy!" "Supernatural," "Halt and Catch Fire" and "The Polar Bear Family and Me." The fourth season finale of "The Magicians" was absolutely fantastic, including "Houses" by Great Northern, that song here. I caught the series premiere of "A Discovery of Witches" and I caught a couple of movies: Taraji P. Henson in "Hidden Figures" and Peter Sellers in "Being There." Shoutouts to David Dean Bottrell's "Working Actor" and Voices of Deconversion's second anniversary -- congratulations! I got a correction, and in Upcoming Shows I'm looking forward to seeing "Avengers: Endgame," a local production of "Noises Off!" and series resumes of "Luther" and "Pose." Happy viewing!

Phones - Worryin' (Petko Turner's & Chew Solo's Carefree Edit) Much respected indie rock producer (Futureheads, Maximo Park, Bloc Party, White Rose Movement...) by day, dirty electro DJ by night. Based in London, Paul "Phones" Epworth has been at the centre of the new rock/dance revolution that doesn't seem to have an official name other than the general 'Electro', 'Indie Rave' and 'Electro Indie' tags that are commonly used. Not to be confused with Electro House (Steve Angello, Tom Neville etc), the scene is a romantic hybrid of the electro sound pioneered by the likes of Daft Punk and later on 2 Many DJ's, with the 'new wave' of rock and indie rock of the past 5 or 6 years. Along with acts such as Simian Mobile Disco, Justice (3), Digitalism, and Erol Alkan, Phones has helped pioneer the 100% credible melding of rock and indie rock with alternative electro beats and dancefloor sensibilities by creating a string of critically acclaimed remixes of rock and pop records, which he backs up by crowd pulling DJ sets in London and across the globe; winning himself in the process as many 'dance' fans as he has rock. Paul has also had some involvement in another London-based movement known as Grindie, which is a hybrid of indie rock and the grime sound of East London MCs such as Kano (4), Lethal Bizzle and Lady Sovereign. Although not strictly in the same boat, he has often been talked about alongside the likes of Jacques Lu Cont, Tom Neville and Switch with regard to the high quality of his remixes.

DJ /rupture came up with a swiftly executed and devastatingly effective musical counterstrike against the re-election of the world's least favourite leader in 2004. Previously hosted on Musicalbear, the mix combines more commercial US productions (opening with Baby Boy and finding room for Terror Squad's anthemic Lean Back) with the usual /rupture mash-up of breakcore, gabba, jungle and general intense, nose-bleeding noise. As a gesture to US Army interrogation techniques, someone really ought to shut George Bush in a steel container and play this to him at full volume until his head explodes or he experiences a sudden conversion to grime and breakcore. A crazed scream interrupts the most laid-back, downtempo part of the mix: don't relax or the Republicans might get away with even more than they already have. The breakbeats are interspersed with evocative classics (like the Honeydrippers Impeach The President) and snatches of lyrics – 'I'm not your typical American' intones one MC, just before the music breaks down into distortion and frantic hardcore. Perhaps the most heartening thing for the UK listener is the number of British productions and MCs involved in the mix. Highlights from the UK side of the pond include the Bizzle's Forward Riddim (someone should bring the arms house to George Bush's mum's house), Lady Sovereign doing her excellent 'Ch Ching' thing and the crazy Deathsucker release Murder Dem which twists a dancehall version of Israelites into manic ragga jungle. Jamaican sounds are well represented with /rupture's own Sister Nancy collaboration Little More Oil coming through strongly, and there's also room for the all-time reggae classic, Willie Williams Armagideon Time. We hope the apocalypse isn't really imminent but, in the circumstances, it's a fair point – the battle is getting hotter and a lot of people won't get no justice tonight.   No tracklisting. ^ This mix was first played out on London's alternative radio station Resonance FM
