Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman, marking my 102nd episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging thousands of VHS transfers and digital recordings. I open with a complicated correction that involves my having mixed up Rachel Nichols and Elisabeth Harnois, the shows they were involved in, their connections to Joss Whedon productions and also cross connections through "Criminal Minds." This set covers discs 1826 to 1850 in my Classic Collection. For my Fuzzy Feature, from Discs 1849 and 1850, comments on the pilot episode of Matt Nix production "The Good Guys," along with my 12th ever "VideoFuzzy the Video" posted here: https://youtu.be/aT5HIqRBS50 I also traced Cross Connections turning up in this collection for Golden Threads Michael O'Neill and Stephen Weber, plus Tahmon Penniket, William B. Davis, Gary Anthony Williams, Erica Gimpel, Ally Walker, Marion Ross, Chrisotpher Lloyd, Scott Bakula, Fred Willard, Swoosie Kurtz, Allison Janney, Terry O'Quinn, Marilyn Manson, Mitch Pileggi, Jon Waters, Bob Clendinen, Neil Patrick Harris, Molly Shannon, John Michael Higgins, Idina Menzel, Judy Greer, Kelsey Grammer, Saul Rubinek, Rachel York, Brent Sexton, Kevin "Repo" Thomas, M.C. Gainey, Kate Vernon and Wade Williams. Plus from "Mid-Century Modern" and elsewhere, I recognize my latest Golden Thread: Bruno Amato. In my Classic Collection, I encountered a few disc errors, suggesting my current DVD player may be wearing out. In the meantime, lots of high-drama season finales in this set. Comments on "Grey's Anatomy," "Fringe," "The Simpsons," "Chuck," "Breaking Bad," and a discussion on the Weeping Angels in "Doctor Who." In Old Business, I track down a musical comedy clip of Martin Short listing celebrities and other notables who refuse to appear on "The Late Show with David Letterman." I'd archived a portion of that one to disc 225 but hadn't seen the first half in perhaps ever until I found it on YouTube in a clip compilation of Martin Short appearances hosted by David Letterman and Paul Schaffer. I posted it here, cued to the 22-minute mark: https://bit.ly/3G52J9e In What I've Been Watching, comments on the Vernal Theatre's outstanding production of "Kiss Me Kate," the second season premiere of "Doctor Who" on Disney+, the first season of "Continuum" and pilot episodes of "Millennium," "Profiler" and "Mid-Century Modern." In What I've Been Watching, I chat about the 2018 Jon Hamm, Catherine Keener release "Nostalgia," which I found available for viewing at the Uintah County Library in Vernal, UT. Great space, and very cool show!   Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman, marking my 101st episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging thousands of VHS transfers and digital recordings. First, heading toward my eighth anniversary doing this podcast, I'm trying to build some engagement. I posted an 11th installment of "VideoFuzzy: The Video - Celebrating 100 Episodes!" at https://youtu.be/eWfcCDiOZ2I. Please share as you're able to with anyone you feel might enjoy this production. Also, most of my recent episodes have posted with promos, so those are also available to share freely. And you have to scroll all the way down, but there are more general promos posted at https://videofuzzy.libsyn.com. Enjoy! This set covers discs 1801 to 1825 in my Classic Collection. For my Fuzzy Feature, from Disc 1818 I pulled up the "Parks and Recreation" second season episode "94 Meetings," and traced Cross Connections for Dan Butler, Jane McGregor, Robert Englund, Timothy Olyphant, Zeljko Ivanek, Robert Picardo, Tony Hale, John Barrowman, Diane Farr, Stephen Weber, Larry Widmore, Ted Bagley, Julie Benz, Krinstin Chenowith, Martha Plimpton, Yeardley Smith and Alex Kingston, plus from "Eli Stone" and elsewhere, I celebrate Golden Thread Loretta Devine. In my Classic Collection, I call up my 2010 "TV is the New Reading" podcast commentary on "Happy Town." David Tennant and Patrick Stewart shared the stage in a PBS "Great Performances" production of "Hamlet." Plus comments on "Doctor Who," "Fringe," "The Crying Game" from 1992, and I highlighted insights by fellow podcaster Terry Geo's "Refracted World" at Refracted World "Love is Love Legally" at https://bit.ly/3RoEg0L. Also, "Damages," "Mercy," "South Park," "The Office," "Community," "The Simpsons," OKGO on "The Colbert Report," "Minnesota Original" and on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," Jon hilariously simulated capping the BP oil spill. In What I've Been Watching, comments on the pilot episode of "Continuum," plus "Captain America: Brave New World," Trey Parker's "Orgazmo," the 2003 Edie Falco pilot of "Fargo," you can find a copy of that posted here: https://bit.ly/4jdNPMb. Comments on "South Park," "Parks and Rec," "The Crying Game," David Tennant as "Hamlet," Matt Smith as "Doctor Who," plus "Continuum," "Captain America," "Orgazmo" and "Queen Charlotte," and The Daily Show's Jon Stewart demonstrates a practical reconstruction of capping the BP oil spill. Putting together VideoFuzzy ep. 100 -- coffee certainly helps!   Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman, marking my 100th episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging thousands of VHS transfers and digital recordings. This set covers discs 1751 to 1800 in my Classic Collection. I open with a project overview highlighting some of my finds. For my Fuzzy Feature, I encountered the 100th episode of "Bones" that recalled the first case Booth and Bones worked on together. I found a similar story construction in "In Plain Sight," and talked about that one as well. Under Cross Connections I trace Golden Threads Todd Giebenhain and, later, Michael Shamus Wiles. Also, appearances by Amy Acker, Lee Majors, Kathy Najimy, Bryan Batt, Alan Ruck, Stephen Root, Katie Sackhoff, Mark Bergeron, Angela Bassett, Sarah Silverman, Rita Moreno, Dana Delany, Sheryl Crow, Mary Pat Gleason, Marc A. Sheppard, Charlotte Arren, Johnny Broderick, Cyd Cherise, Fred Astaire, Jane Lynch, Olivia Munn and Brian Skala. And under Fond Reflections, love for Michelle Trachtenberg of "Buffy," "Mercy" and "Six Feet Under," and I share some headcanon from an "Angel" chat group I was in. In Video Outreach, I share comments from author and fellow podcaster Kemper Donovan on my review of "Loose Lips," available here: https://bit.ly/3C11ENN Kemper hosts the "All About Agatha" podcast here: https://bit.ly/43j4hnB Then I chat with my sister, Patti Ellingson, about shows we've enjoyed, including "Doctor Who," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Bridgerton" and "Stranger Things." I know I've mentioned my sister's influence on my television viewing different times over the course of this production, and this felt like a fantastic opportunity to chat with her directly. So much fun! In my Classic Collection, I take almost a disc-by-disc deep dive on what I was finding in this set, beginning with a third meet-cute storyline I encountered in this set: the first season finale of "Human Target." Also, comments on "Arrested Development," "The Simpsons," "FlashForward," "Archer," "24," "Caprica," "Community," "Mercy," "Ugly Betty," "Parks and Recreation," "Justified," 2002 and 2005 MTV Movie Award shows, "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report," "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" C-SPAN coverage of the Affordable Care Act, "Breaking Bad," "The Big Bang Theory," "Jawbreaker," "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" "Batman Returns," "The Three Faces of Eve," "Sybil," Union activity at The Minot Daily News, "Star Trek Voyager," "Fawlty Towers," "Monty Python's Flying Circus," commercials and music videos, "LOST," "Cougar Town," "Castle," "Fringe," "Chuck," "Broadway Melody of 1940," "Silk Stockings," "V" and "Damages."  Also surfacing in this cataloging effort I found home movies, including a one-act presented at the Carnegie Center in Minot in 2002 or so called "Excerpts." Friends of mine read from books in my collection: https://bit.ly/3DslFO6 It's a bit silly, but if you think of books on your shelves murmuring to one another, that was the idea I was going for. Then, from 100 episodes, I share 100 clips! But there'd only be 99, right? Well, one of the clips I shared referenced outtakes from a "Michael Caine in Space" sketch on "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" which, at the time, I had trouble locating. Since then, I was able to locate it here: https://bit.ly/4hnn9XM Enjoy! Finally, in What I've Been Watching, Ralph and I took in Larry Shue's "The Nerd" at the Vernal Theatre downtown, and I shared some thoughts. The company closes out its season with a production of Cole Porter's "Kiss Me Kate" coming up in mid-April, and we're looking forward to it. Tickets and information at https://www.vernaltheatre.com. In Cross Connections I highlight appearances by several actors in shows I cataloged in this set, including Amy Acker, Stan Lee, then with the pilot episode of "Parenthood," I encountered so many direct links throughout my media collection including Peter Krause, Lauren Graham, Craig T. Nelson and Mike O'Malley. Fond reflections on Andre Braugher, David Lynch and Linda Lavin, and with his appearance in "Psych," I highlighted actor Bruce Davison as a Golden Thread in my collection. In my Classic Collection, I chat about the 2010 White House Summit on Health Care Reform, and draw connections to "The West Wing" season seven episode "The Debate." Also, The Simpsons 20th Anniversary special, "Dollhouse," "Nip/Tuck" and Stephen Colbert highlighting Eduard Khil, "The Trololo Guy" [https://bit.ly/40dSaqE] in one of his episodes.  In What I've Been Watching, a friend of mine in Minot, Brent Braniff, put together a 20-minute Minneapolis travelogue called "Friends, Family and Waterfalls" [https://bit.ly/4g4lpSA] Also, comments on "Big Bear" (2017) and "Promising Young Woman" (2020). Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman, marking my 97th episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging thousands of VHS transfers and digital recordings. This set covers discs 1676 to 1700 in my Classic Collection. In my Fuzzy Feature, I talk about the 1946 Holmes and Watson mystery "Dressed to Kill," starring Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce. I chat about the Kyle Smith book they used as a basis for at least the title and the names of a few characters in the 2006 CBS Tom Cavanaugh vehicle "Love Monkey." I found it while attending a book chat author and fellow podcaster Kemper Donovan gave for his debut murder mystery "The Busy Body" in Grand Rapids, Michigan, last April, which gave me an excellent opportunity to highlight the upcoming release of the second installment in his ghostwriter series, "Loose Lips," available for pre-order at www.kensingtonbooks.com/9781496744548/loose-lips/ or any independent bookseller you prefer. In Cross Connections I highlight appearances by several actors in shows I cataloged in this set, including Ray Wise, John Larroquette, Michael Ian Black, Michael Imperioli, Kurt Fuller, Cory Montieth, Benito Martinez, Tyne Daly, Judd Nelson, Liam James and Alyssa Milano. I determined Diedrich Bader likely qualified as a Golden Thread in my collection. In my Classic Collection, I chat about "Who's the Boss?" references in "Community," I do a compare and contrast on "Human Target" and "Archer," with comments on "Desperate Housewives" and "Supernatural." In my Current Collection, I archived family memorial services into my home collection. I also archived "Agatha All Along," "Only Murders in the Building," and the Kamala Harris rally in Milwaukee.  Archiving is on hold while we get ourselves set up in our new home in Utah. While this set covers discs 1626 to 1650 in my Classic Collection, my Fuzzy Feature highlights a bit of a deep dive for this effort. From discs 1474 and 1480, I talk about "Hamlet 2" starring Steve Coogan and Catherine Keener. Our regional Capitol Shakespeare troupe presented "Hamlet" this summer, and I include comments from Derek Pich and Schatzy Eichmann, the actors who portrayed Hamlet and Ophelia. The theatrical theme traces as well from a Great Performances 2023 presentation of "Hamlet" I archived from PBS. Plus I'm readying a role in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" for TruNorth Theater, running the weekends of Sept. 20 and Sept. 27, so I'm in a theatrical state of mind. More info available at https://www.trunorththeatre.org/ and https://www.facebook.com/trunorththeatre. In my Classic Collection (VHS-to-DVD), covering discs 1626 to 1650, I talk about archiving dedicated VHS tapes with episodes of "Grey's Anatomy," "Medium," "The Simpsons," "Arrested Development," "Dollhouse," "Brothers & Sisters," "The Office" and "Vampire Diaries," this set featuring "Sleep Alone" by Bat For Lashes: https://bit.ly/4cZdsN8 Also spotted, a bizarre Powerade commerical called "Sport is What You Make It": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAXf9_3pgqY In my Current Collection, I touch very briefly on shows I've archived direct to DVD, but my priority was new digital media I'd acquired, box sets of "The Magicians," "Warehouse 13" and a couple seasons of "The Umbrella Academy." Also, a box set of Rodgers and Hammerstein classics turned up among my mom's effects when she passed this summer, and I'm looking forward to watching them. I included a clip or two from "Rigoletto" my mom recorded for me for a show I was directing in 2001, "The Importance of Being Earnest." Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman, marking my 94th episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging thousands of VHS transfers and digital recordings, and with this installment, titled "Into Every Generation," I celebrate seven years of doing so. Helping to mark the occasion, in my Fuzzy Feature I chatted with longtime friend and friend of the pod Marc Bailey, also known as Grailwolf, to talk about the 1992 release of Joss Whedon's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," the FX presentation of which turned up on disc 1604 in my classic collection. We talked about the movie, the TV series it gave rise to, the spinoff of "Angel" and the comic series, as well as other Whedon projects, and farther reaching ramifications of the production. In honor of this film turning up in my cataloging project, I have expanded the mystical center of my media collection to include Joss Whedon productions, in my newly renamed Joss Under Murph Studios Challenge, linking shows in my collection through "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," "Six Feet Under," Ryan Murphy productions and/or Joss Whedon productions. A few connections become quite a bit clearer and just make more sense with the acknowledgement of this expansion, which suggests it was a de facto center all along. In Cross Connections I explore some of the impacts of this expansion, certainly through my Fond Reflection farewell to the movie Buffy's Watcher character Merrick, played by Donald Sutherland. I trace other connections through "Criminal Minds," "The Closer," "NUMB3RS" and a two-part "Alice in Wonderland"-themed Syfy miniseries starring Caterina Scorsone titled "Alice." In my Classic VHS-to-DVD Collection, for this set covering discs 1601 through 1625, I talked about a significant second-season episode of "Rescue Me," a documentary recounting 40 years of the Broadway production of "Hair," the pilot epiosde of "Criminal Minds," Syfy's miniseries "Alice," and a bunch of episodes from "Arrested Devleopment," "South Park," "The Simpsons" and "24," alongside a bunch of music videos as well as the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards, hosted by ... oh. Sean "Puffy" Combs. In my Current direct-to-digital recordings, I talk about Pat Sajak stepping down form hosting duties on "Wheel of Fortune," podcaster Terry Geo's 2023 stage production of "Blink: A One-Man Gay Rom-Com," that link available here: https://bit.ly/45DbBeV and a spoiler-y look back at the first season finale of "Doctor Who," which I include at the very end of the show in case you're still avoiding spoilers. Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman, marking my 93rd episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging thousands of VHS transfers and digital recordings. In my Fuzzy Feature, I talk about the two-part series finale of "Monk," which turned up in my cataloging efforts this time. In Cross Connections I traced ties through "Monk," "Fringe" and "Moonlighting," and highlighted Golden Thread connections with Larry Clarke and Sharon Lawrence. In my Classic Collection (VHS-to-DVD), cataloging discs 1576 to 1600, I found where I'd appeared on local noon shows promoting community theater, clip posted to VideoFuzzy's Instagram. Also, "Fringe" – both here and in my Current Collection – "Medium" "Monk," "Criminal Minds" "Prison Break" and "NUMB3RS" and animated shows like "American Dad," "Venture Brothers," "Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law" and "Tom Goes to the Mayor." I found some racy commercials and talk about the marketing concept of "floym." Plus, music videos (check out Jack Johnson's 2005 "Sitting, Waiting, Wishing" here: https://bit.ly/3WFdK7q) and episodes of "The Twilight Zone." In my Current Collection, I added a BUNCH of material this time including I already mentioned "Fringe" up there, I added seasons 4 and 5 to my collection, plus the entire series of "Moonlighting" and a couple different ties to "Medium" and "Fringe." Plus comments on "Feud: Capote vs. The Swans," "Spider-Man: No Way Home," "The Batman," Alanis Morrisette's recent turn on "Austin City Limits," and more from the new season of "Doctor Who." I close out with a couple unique productions. I explore the Indigo Girls' 1995 VHS release "Watershed: 10 Years of Underground Video" callback to sister podcast "VideoFuzzy the Soundtrack" Ep. 10: Caramia, some of the cool things I found there. Then my hubby, Ralph, and I recently took in the "Wheel of Fortune LIVE" production at Prairie Knights Casino and Lodge with cohosts Bob Goen and Daisy Wang and announcer Cody Dove, who was really leaning into that "Better Call Saul" credit. It was a great time and they put on a fun show. Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman marking my 92nd episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging more than 3,000 VHS transfers and digital recordings. My Fuzzy Feature for this installment, titled "Reunion," I talk about the first four entries I found in that 2005 FOX series. I also share Book Reports on new releases "The Fury" by Alex Michaelides and "The Busy Body," the long-anticipated debut murder mystery by "All About Agatha" podcast host Kemper Donovan. Both are fun reads in very different ways and both come highly recommended. Kemper's podcast "All About Agatha" can be found on Apple Podcasts at https://bit.ly/43j4hnB  With my Classic Collection, cataloging discs 1551 through 1575, I officially have fewer than 1,000 discs to catalog in my classic collection. In this set I found the first episode of "The Tonight Show" aired following the news of Johnny Carson's death in 2005. Also, several music videos and late night show clips, Tim Daly's private eye drama "Eyes," and episodes of "Desperate Housewives," "Grey's Anatomy," "Alias," "LOST" and "Fringe," and an "Ugly Betty" where Justin's class elects him homecoming queen as a joke, but he takes the win in a totally unexpected direction. In my Current Collection I dig into the "Doctor Who" 60-year anniversary specials — and oh yes, there will be spoilers. Also, "Death and Other Details," "Fargo," "Surrealestate," "Feud: Truman Capote and the Swans," "Moonlighting," "Obituary" and "The Floor." In What I've Been Watching, I've taken in the Capitol Shakespeare production of "The Importance of Being Earnest" as well as a couple of movies: "Argylle" and "Wonka." Fun! Changing things up a bit for episode 92, I wanted to step back and celebrate a fellow podcaster, from "All About Agatha," host Kemper Donovan's debut murder mystery "The Busy Body." A longtime student of the form, it's easy to tell the close read he's taken with the works of queen of crime Agatha Christie, combining what inspiration he's found there with modern twists like selfies, influencers and Kickstarter campaigns for a truly uncanny adventure drawing a plucky presidential hopeful and her ghostwriter into a murder investigation. Together with episodes of "Reunion," remembering Johnny Carson and from hulu, "Death and Other Details," I talk about multiweek USA Today bestseller "The Busy Body" as well as mystery novel "The Fury" by Alex Michaelides in this, my latest entry, a mystery-themed episode of "VideoFuzzy," available wherever you get your podcasts. Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman and this totally '80s installment marks my 89th episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging more than 3,000 VHS transfers and digital recordings. This installment, titled "Forever Freestyle," celebrates probably the broadest timeline covered by my classic and current collections, featuring material from every decade between 1930 and 2020. My Fuzzy Feature highlights the 1980s miniseries, network series and the 2009 reboot of "V," including a contemporary clip from my "TV is the New Reading" podcast. I track some Cross Connections through the casts of the original and the reboot such as Jossverse connections to Morena Baccarin, Alan Tudyk and Gina Torres and original series connections through Michael Mantell and Richard T. Jones. A flashback episode of "My Name is Earl" featured an appearance by long-acknowledged Golden Thread Beau Bridges as Carl Hickey. And several arterial connections showed up in "Mercy" including Michelle Trachtenberg, Jane Mulgrew and Elisabeth Moss; "Boston Legal" including Jane Lynch, Megan Mullally and Prime Connector Stephen Tobolowsky with William Shatner, Rene Auberjonois and Armin Shimerman. In my Classic Collection, cataloging discs 1476 through 1500, I encountered an ad for a two-disc set packed with '80s dance hits called "Forever Freestyle." You can see the ad here: https://youtu.be/ZDNlUl706Ls Based on finding it in my collection I added the songs in that compilation to my music collection. Also, I found one of two German-language episodes of "Monty Python's Fliegende Zirkus," the Bravo rebroadcast of "Six Feet Under" episode "Eat a Peach," and a Lexus ad featuring some brilliant stage-management tagged "The safest accident is the one that never happens." You can see that one here: https://youtu.be/Xw3-hOE3l8M Plus comments on "Hamlet 2," "The Prisoner," "The Ninth Gate," "CATS," "The Riches," "Fringe," Ellen hosting the Oscars, a documentary on the 2008 presidential election called "By the People: The Election of Barack Obama" and the 1952 movie "Desk Set." In my Current Collection I talk about the "BoJack Horseman" finale and connections between that and the final season of "Six Feet Under." Also, comments on "Quantumania," "Soup to Nuts," "Michael Shayne, Private Eye" and the third season premiere of "Only Murders in the Building." In What I've Been Watching, comments on "Elemental," "Barbie" and "Grace & Frankie," as well as "Project Runway" and "Crime Scene Kitchen." And in my streaming selections, I took in the series premiere of Nathan Pyle's "Strange Planet" on Apple TV. Fun show! Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman and this installment marks my 88th episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging more than 3,000 VHS transfers and digital recordings. This installment, titled "Psyched Out," fulfills a promise I made years ago, Oct. 2019, in "Ep. 56: Embrace the Deception." This promise was renewed a couple episodes back when a long-awaited first-season episode of "Psych" turned up in my cataloging. That is, the first half of it appeared. My cataloging for this set turned up the second half of that episode, to wit, "Cloudy With a Chance of Murder." I'd already long since added the eighth-season do-over, titled "Remake: AKA Cloudy With a Chance of Improvement" to my current collection. So when the second half of the original turned up, I was able to pull them both up for a long ago promised compare and contrast. And since this installment also marks six years of VideoFuzzy, I took another road trip to Minot to visit my friend Kirk Nybakken to celebrate, take in both episodes back to back and discuss them. I track some Cross Connections through the casts of "Psych," "Six Feet Under," "Bones," "Commander in Chief" and "Killer Instinct" and trace a Golden Thread through my collection with the work of Zjelko Ivanek. In my Classic Collection, cataloging discs 1451 through 1475, along with the remainder of that "Psych" episode I found a whole lot of series recordings with concentrations of "Battlestar Galactica," "Bones," "NUMB3RS," "Six Feet Under" and "24," as well as "The Prisoner" and "Monty Python's Flying Circus." Also, the 78th Annual Oscars celebration, hosted by Jon Stewart, and a bunch of music videos. In my Current Collection I archived the latter seasons of "BoJack Horseman," and took in the Amazon Films production of "The Goldfinch." And under What I've Been Watching, Ralph stood me to a production of "The Machine," which was ridiculous fun. My Classic Collection VHS-to-DVD discussion explored discs 1351-1375 and I highlight the MTV Video Music Awards for 2009, including a tribute to the late Michael Jackson, which then gave me an opportunity to highlight Spike Lee's 2020 reimagination of his 1995 video for "They Don't Care About Us," that link here: https://youtu.be/PoEa9bzeTu0. And in my What I've Been Watching segment, I had dueling Scaletta recommendations for "Ted Lasso" and "The Morning Show," both AppleTV productions, and I was disappointed by the Agatha Christie-themed period mystery, "See How They Run." While that production fell a bit flat, it set the stage to congratulate the "All About Agatha" podcast for completing its stated goal of reviewing and ranking all 66 full-length mystery novels by Agatha Christie. The entire run is available, check that out at https://apple.co/3F0Kpc7. Otherwise, I touch on why this episode has been so long in the making, lots of projects going on here. For this installment, titled "Make It a Word and a Blow," I serendipitously discovered a recording of a community theater production of Shakespeare's "Romeo & Juliet" I was in around 2005, just as I was prepping for the Capitol Shakespeare production of "The Merry Wives of Windsor." I also trace Cross Connections for that community theater production for my "Studio Murphy Under" challenge, as well as a couple episodes of "Six Feet Under" and "Arrested Development," and in Fond Reflection, I mark the passing of Gregory Itzen, whose work represented a solid presence throughout my media collection. In my Classic Collection (VHS-to-DVD), comments on pilots that turned up including "Kitchen Confidential," "Flashforward," "Bones," "The Good Wife," "Eastwick" and "Community," season premieres of "Castle," "Medium," "Dollhouse," "Heroes," "The Big Bang Theory" and "Grey's Anatomy," and the fourth season finale of "Nip/Tuck." Also, I caught Forest Whitaker's appearance in "The Actors Studio," very nice. In my Current Collection (direct-to-DVD), I archived several movies including some groundbreaking visuals in "Footlight Parade," some of Busby Berkeley's earliest work, and Twiggy in "The Boy Friend." Brief comments on "The Ipcress File" and the return of "Only Murders in the Building." Finally, I archived some of the public testimony before the House Select Committee on Jan. 6. In What I've Been Watching, Ralph and I watched "Bob's Burgers: The Movie" and I made a point of acquainting myself with the names of show creators Loren Bouchard and Jim Dauterive. Finally, our director Erin Weichel shared some thoughts about her adaptation of William Shakespeare's "The Merry Wives of Windsor" for Capitol Shakespeare, now in its 15th year, wherein I make my Bismarck stage debut as nutty French doctor Dr. Caius. Ep. 82: Expanding My Mystical Center

Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman and this installment marks my 82nd episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging more than 3,000 VHS transfers and digital recordings. For this installment, titled "Expanding My Mystical Center," my Fuzzy Feature highlights the pilot episode of Ryan Murphy's "Glee." After some soul-searching, I have determined, 82 episodes in, Ryan Murphy's works represent a third chakra at the mystical center of my media collection, that challenge now designated as "Studio Murphy Under." I explore several cross connections through "Glee" and other Ryan Murphy productions, as well as several movies and shows I watched in my classic and current collections, including Greta Garbo in 1933's "Queen Christina," and through the 1960 Korean language film "The Housemaid."  In my Classic Collection (VHS-to-DVD), comments on Tim Roth's "Funny Games" from 2007, "Drop Dead Diva," catalog debuts for "Glee," "Drawn Together" and "Vampire Diaries." Also, "Alias," "Warehouse 13," "Medium," "Eureka," "Prison Break," "Mad Men," "Grey's Anatomy" and "Rescue Me." Tracking information from an episode of "Six Feet Under" I found out they made a TV movie of "Fargo" starring Edie Falco and I am excited to track that down, along with indie film "In a World" and maybe 2005's "Bobby." Also, Bravo's presentation of Madonna's "Confessions" tour in Wembley Stadium from August 2007. In my Current Collection (direct-to-DVD), I watched Elizabeth Taylor in "The Night Watch," "Butterfield 8" and "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof." I watched "The Apartment," "Harper," "Ragdoll," "Hotel Rwanda," "Malcolm X," "Antebellum," "The Raven," "Hotel Artemis," "Den of Thieves" "Gigi," "Carmen Jones," "Brigadoon," "The Thief of Bagdad," "Citizen Kane," "Executive Suite," "Queen Christina," "The Housemaid," "Knives Out," "Better Call Saul" and "Kung Fu." In What I've Been Watching, I checked out Michelle Yeoh in "Everything Everywhere All At Once," "Free Guy," "The Crazy Ones" and Amazon's reboot of "The Kids in the Hall." This segues directly into my streaming activities, including "Mrs. Brown's Boys," "Shakespeare & Hathaway," Hugh Laurie's Britbox adaptation of Agatha Christie's "Why Didn't They Ask Evans?" and "The Ipcriss Files" on AMC+. Also, check out a podcast by Caroline Crampton called "Shedunnit," which came to me highly recommended by "All About Agatha" co-host Kemper Donovan and I heartly agree. She'll be making an appearance shortly on "All About Agatha," and both are well worth a listen. I celebrate five years of VideoFuzzy with a Zoom interview I conducted in March with actor, writer and host of "The Reduced Shakespeare Podcast," Austin Tichenor. He shared comments on appearances and experiences with shows in my collection including "Close to Home," "The West Wing," "Nip/Tuck" and "The Practice." My thanks to Austin Tichenor both for his time, and for the care he brings to the characters he creates and brings to life. Finally, I make my Bismarck stage debut as the nutty Dr. Caius in Director Erin Weichel's adaptation of William Shakespeare's "The Merry Wives of Windsor" for Capitol Shakespeare, now in its 15th year. The show goes up July 20-24 at 7 p.m. near the North Dakota Heritage Center. Admission is free; a freewill offering is collected. Come out and enjoy the show!

Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman and this installment marks my 81st episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging more than 3,000 VHS transfers and digital recordings. For this installment, titled "Tell Me What You Don't Like About Yourself," in my Fuzzy Feature, I talk about third-season episodes of Ryan Murphy's "Nip/Tuck" leading up to the third-season finale and reveal of The Carver story arc. A plot point in that set of episodes traced Matt's dating life with a transsexual and a racial purist, and Julia's pregnancy with Conor. I found a photo taken of me at the exact moment Julia emerged from the examination room and her decision to carry Sean's baby to term – that scene, having been recorded to disc 1285, quite by chance marked the midpoint of my Classic Collection. Wow. And since it's been quite a while, I detailed the philosophy behind my "Studio Six Feet Under" challenge, highlighting these productions – Alan Ball's "Six Feet Under" and Aaron Sorkin's "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" – as the mystical centers of my media collection, noting the synthesis of the those energies in Ryan Murphy's "American Horror Stories" – particularly the focus on death and reality television in season six – and other emergent centers, but those two remain solid. Cross connections through Dylan Walsh and Julian McMahon, Bruno Campos, Roma Maffia and Gregory Itzen, K Callan, as well as guest appearances throughout Nip/Tuck, Alec Mapa, Mary Gross, John Goodman, Dixie Carter, Delta Burke and Jean Smart, plus Jayma Mays who appeared in both "Studio 60" and "Six Feet Under," and in Golden Thread, I track appearances by John Billingsley. In my Classic Collection (VHS-to-DVD) I find a disc with episodes from both "Studio 60" and "Six Feet Under," including a follow-up on the appearance of Mary Gross in "The Trip" I mentioned back in episode 67, and John Goodman's appearance as a judge in Pahrump, Nevada in the "Nevada Day" two-parter. I talk about the use of blackface in a third season episode of "Mad Men" at a Derby Day party set in 1963, and other appearances in media, society and politics up through today. Comments on "Veronica Mars," "Hustle," "3 Lbs.," "Medium," the Lincoln Meyer episode of "Boston Legal" and I go into some detail on "Criminal Minds" and "Grey's Anatomy." Also, I found three tiny clips less than a second long that look like they were commercials overwritten with scenes from a second season episode of "Prison Break." One looks like it's from a car commercial. I posted them on my media sites and you can take a look. I don't really have any information about them, but if they look familiar, I'd love to know. Thanks! In my Current Collection (direct-to-DVD), I archived the State of the Union Address, and historian Heather Cox Richardson's interview with President Biden. Also, the first season of "We Baby Bears," some "Kids in the Hall," "Doctor Who" and "Better Call Saul." In What I've Been Watching, I took in a high school stage production of "The Book of Will," a community theater production of "See How They Run," and such movies as Robert Pattinson in "The Batman" and Kenneth Branagh's production of Agatha Christie's "Death on the Nile." Our host for the "Book of Will," my friend Kirk Nybakken, reminded me during intermission of our 2005 production of another Agatha Christie production, "Towards Zero" in which he'd played Neville Strange and I'd taken on the role of ancient barrister Mathew Treves. He recalled our Inspector Battle, Troy Madl, taking sick one night and his constable, Les Younger, heroically stepping into the Detective Inspector Battle role to get us through the final reveal. I reminded Kirk of the night I'd forgotten my lines at a critical moment and he had to cue me in character to get us through to the finale. Couple of serious day-savers! Well, I was reminded of all of that while putting this together because Troy had been couch-surfing at my place while the "Towards Zero" was going on and his quick thinking resulted in that photo of me reacting to that moment in "Nip/Tuck." Thank you Troy, and thank you Kirk, for that fun trip down memory lane. And on the topic of Christie-related memories, I got some nice feedback from Kemper Donovan of the "All About Agatha" podcast regarding my "At Bertram's Hotel" entry around the 25-minute mark of episode 76, "Building a Mystery." I posted my 10th ever "VideoFuzzy: The Video" installment at https://youtu.be/vu_HaYaiOAk with comments from my Fuzzy Feature and the backstory on that photo. This will likely mark my signoff for those entries. They're fun to put together, but unless something really demands a visual component, I think my audio-only format should be just fine. The audio availability will continue on YouTube and wherever you get your podcasts. And this will likely be my last regular entry for a while. With out-of-town adventures and friends visiting from overseas, it has taken more than two months to put this one together despite my very best efforts. I just need to take a break, focus on some life stuff and oh yeah, plow through a BUNCH of media piled up on my Midco box. I've been making semi-regular submissions since I started this project 80 episodes ago in June of 2017 with disc 229, cataloged through disc 1300 with a deep-dive bringing in my entire backlog with episode 10. It'll be a good break, but we're not talking years. I've still got this uncharted collection of media to go through and I absolutely want to get through it and talk about it. In the meantime, explore my back catalog, click through my blog, and if there's anything you'd like more information about, please let me know. Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman and this installment marks my 80th episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging more than 3,000 VHS transfers and digital recordings. For this installment, titled "F is for Fiasco," in my Friday Night Feature, episodes of "Close to Home" spark an unexpected connection with an appearance by Austin Tichenor, host of the Reduced Shakespeare Company podcast. In Cross Connections, in my "Studio Six Feet Under" challenge, I trace Austin Tichenor's appearances within a step of mystical centrality in my media collection. Also, Jeff Perry appears as a Golden Thread through a lot of the media I grew up watching and throughout my media collection. Also, appearances by Laurie Metcalf, Josh Hopkins, Carrie Preston and Bruno Campos. I don't break out a Fond Reflections this time because 2022 has been brutal, but I encountered a Bob Saget reference in a season 14 episode of "The Simpsons."  In my Classic VHS-to-DVD collection, discussion of "Blind Justice," "Defying Gravity," "The Universe," "Mad Men," "Drop Dead Diva" (with quick aside to Season 19 of "Project Runway,") "Nip/Tuck," "The West Wing" and "The Comedy Central Roast of Pamela Anderson." Also, a song by Alabama3 featured in the BBC's "Being Human."   In my Current direct-to-digital collection, discussion of title inspiration for this installment, Orson Welles' 1973 documentary "F is for Fake." I talk about "Trance," "The Dark Half," "The Magician," "Gone," "In Cold Blood" and "Badlands." I include a compare-and-contrast of the 1947 and 2021 releases of "Nightmare Alley." Comments on "Doctor Who," "Looper" and "Naomi." Also, I talk about "4400" with breakout commentary on the 2009 reboot of "V" and the 2017 reboot of "Murphy Brown." In What I've Been Watching, I talk about Joel Coen's Apple TV presentation of "The Tragedy of Macbeth," I run into Lauren Kristy, Live and Linkin Park songs in my iTunes catalog. Shoutout to my friend Mikey Heinrich for the heads up on the opening sequence to HBO Max's "The Peacemaker" at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mrr3UNALww - OMG. Definitely added Wig Wam's "Do You Really Wanna Taste It" to my playlist. Also, block out the time and watch ROFL Audio's "Ultimate James Bond Medley" at https://youtu.be/SeYfAmz0Jlk, it's amazing. Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman and this installment marks my 79th episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging nearly 3,000 VHS transfers and digital recordings. Wishing everyone a safe and healthy 2022! For this installment, titled "The Play's the Thing," in my Friday Night Feature I talk about show-within-a-show plot points I encountered in "Leverage," "Burn Notice," "The Closer," "Monk," "Hung," "In Plain Sight," "The Simpsons," "Drop Dead Diva" and "Better Off Ted," and their place and use in productions. In Cross Connections, I explore K. Callan's appearances as a Golden Thread through a lot of the media I grew up watching and throughout my media collection, and representing the tightest connection I've found so far to "Knives Out" through Frances Conroy in "Remington Steele" and Ed Begley Jr. in "St. Elsewhere" to "Six Feet Under," binding quite a few shows to the mystical center of my media collection in my "Studio Six Feet Under" challenge. I also noted Justina Machado in the "One Day at a Time" reboot puts every Norman Lear production also one step removed from "Six Feet Under." And K Callan's involvement in several shows featured in Chris Cooling's podcast "Forgotten TV" gave me a great opportunity for a quick shoutout to that excellent production. Other connections I talk about in my Classic Collection discussion include Christine Baranski's appearance in "Psych" with the more usual recurring character of Cybill Shepherd in "Cybill." Also, John Schneider's appearances in "Dirty Sexy Money," "Nip/Tuck" and "Leverage," and connections through "The Closer," "Cougar Town," "Drop Dead Diva" and "Rescue Me." In Fond Reflections, together with the loss to the world of Betty White, I extend my deep condolences to the "All About Agatha" podcast team, with the sudden passing of cohost Catherine Brobeck, celebrating her contributions in superlative discussion, debate and insights into the vast majority of mystery novelist, Queen of Crime Agatha Christie's body of work, and all the best to Kemper Donovan in the wake of the devastating loss of his friend and cohost in this more than five year journey. It was so good to have this too brief acquaintance. In my Classic VHS-to-DVD collection, discussion of dustups on "Rescue Me," additional cross connections, a screen capture of cool art I saw in "Burn Notice" I posted to VideoFuzzy's Instagram account, a clip from Portishead's "Only You" in the cold open for "Warehouse 13," and the Comedy Central Roast of Joan Rivers. Also, tracking the car crash I foreshadowed a couple episodes back, documenting some weirdness I encountered in hopping from Binder No. 6 to Binder No. 7 – a blank disc, two copies of disc 1241 (now marked 1241-1 and 1241-2), and the odd displacement of Disc 1449, now exhaustively documented among this latest installment of "History's Most Boring Mysteries." In my Current direct-to-digital collection, discussion of "Doctor Who: Flux," exploring Weeping Angels, Division, an Ood, the Mad Mole of Liverpool, a snake alien involved from the earliest beginnings of UNIT, and at the center of it all, a tri-phasic Doctor and her team with chameleon arch tech, a grumpy doggo, a planet called Time, the Temple of the Mora and a confrontation with the Vanquishers while a Gallifreyan scientist tries to destroy the universe from outside of it. Also, commentary on "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind," "Queens," "Live in Front of a Studio Audience: The Facts of Life and Diff'rent Strokes" and the 2002 Bruce Willis movie "Bandits" featuring Tanita Tikaram's "Twist in my Sobriety." And in What I've Been Watching, Ralph and I have been watching "My Hero Academia," and we recently took in the prequel installment, "The King's Man." Fun show. Edward Montez in a local commercial along with other cool commercials for DirecTV and Progressive Insurance and biography entries on legends Lucille Ball and Elizabeth Taylor. Additional spoiler-y comments on the "SurrealEstate" finale and the premiere of ABC's "Queens."
