Tony Nominee Ethan Slater can most recently be seen in the feature film Wicked, where he portrays the role of Boq. The film will be followed up by Wicked: Part 2, where Slater will reprise his role, and will be released by Universal Pictures in November of 2025. In another recent film, Slater also stars in the drama film Lost on a Mountain in Maine, based on the novel. He is currently in production on the indie feature The Designer, alongside Gina Gershon and Katherine Waddell. Evan Handler is beloved by millions for portraying Harry Goldenblatt, divorce-lawyer-turned-husband to Kristin Davis's Charlotte York, on HBO's groundbreaking series, and films, “Sex and the City,” it's current MAX follow-up, “And Just Like That,” as well as Charlie Runkle on Showtime's seven season “Californication.” In addition to authoring two highly acclaimed books, Time on Fire: My Comedy of Terrors, and It's Only Temporary: The Good News and the Bad News of Being Alive, Evan has played leading roles in ABC's “It's Like, You Know…,” and NBC's “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip,” STARZ' “Power,” and made numerous memorable guest appearances on “Lost,” “The West Wing,” “Six Feet Under,” “Necessary Roughness,” and “Friends.” In 2000, Evan played Larry Fine in ABC's TV movie “The Three Stooges,” followed by additional “real life” portrayals of Lloyd Blankfein in HBO's “Too Big to Fail,” Alan Dershowitz in FX's “People vs. OJ Simpson,” and Hal Prince in FX's “Fosse/Verdon,” each of which garnered numerous wide-ranging awards. Adriana Pierce is a dancer, choreographer, and director based in New York City, and she joined the studio to talk about her work elevating queer artists in ballet, creating community, and her career in classical ballet as well as musical theater!  Adriana is the founder of Queer the Ballet, an initiative with the mission to widen the scope of classical ballet by producing queer work by queer dance artists. Queer the Ballet says on its website that it seeks to “queer” our ballet spaces and explore choreography often absent from ballet stages. After training at School of American Ballet, Adriana began her dancing career with New York City Ballet and Miami City Ballet before realizing another dream of hers - working in Broadway, film and tv! She appeared in the 2018 Broadway revival of Carousel, in Steven Spielberg's 2021 West Side Story film, and in the 2019 limited series on FX, Fosse/Verdon.  She's currently the associate director and associate choreographer for Justin Peck's “Illinoise" on Broadway. Adriana's other choreographic work features movement and partnering that allows dancers of all genders equal agency, dismantling the traditional gender dynamics of dance. Her choreography has been performed by American Ballet Theatre, Carolina Ballet, Columbia Ballet Collaborative, Ashley Bouder Project, and more. She's also completed residencies with Center for Ballet and the Arts at NYU and Bridge Street Theatre, and she was recognized by Dance Magazine as one of 25 to watch in 2022. A two-time Tony Award-winning actor and singer, Norbert Leo Butz opens up about his childhood, the challenges he faced pursuing a career in acting, and the remarkable twists of fate that brought him to Broadway. Hailing from a large family of 11 siblings, he shares how the importance of education was instilled to them by his parents. Despite his family's support for school plays, his strict upbringing and limited resources led Norbert to sneakily pursue his love for acting. Norbert eventually had to confess to his father about attending a different college and studying to become an actor, a moment that ultimately led to his parents becoming his biggest supporters. He recounts his serendipitous entry into Broadway with "Rent," joining the cast as a cover for the roles of Roger and Mark–a right place, right time moment for him. He also talks about how he dealt with the pandemic through music, which eventually resulted in releasing his 4th solo album “King of Hearts” co-written with her daughter, Clara Davis. Growing up, Norbert developed a sense of self-reliance and resilience that shaped his approach to hard work and dedication. He encourages aspiring actors to avoid seeking validation through advice and instead cultivate self-awareness and a love for their craft. We are excited to have two of our favorite guests back for a second time together!  We hope you enjoy our talk with Courtney Ortiz and Lesley MealorCourtney Ortiz, a native of,Baltimore, MD, is a 2007 youngARTS award winner in Modern Dance. Her professional career has allowed her to travel the world performing and teaching in places such as: Dubai, Canada, Alaska, Mexico, Spain, Germany, Australia and France. Her career spans from stage to screen with credits including: Company Member with The Chase Brock Experience, Choreographer and Dancer on Youtube's hit web series "The Key of Awesome", Backup Dancer for PSY and Chris Brown on "The Today Show", Dancer for Heidi Klum at Madison Square Garden in "Macy's Fashions Front Row" on E! Network, and The Radio City Christmas Spectacular. One of her favorite and most memorable credits was performing throughout Europe on the International Tour of the classic musical West Side Story as a Jet Girl and the Assistant Dance Captain. Some of her most recent credits include the 1st National Tour of the Broadway Musical Finding Neverland, Lin Manuel Miranda's In The Heights, and the first ever revival in 30 years of Jerome Robbins' Broadway at The Muny's 100th Season in St. Louis, MO! You can also catch Courtney's feet tap dancing in FX Network's hit series, “Fosse/Verdon”, where she was the dance double for Young Bob Fosse! Outside of performing, she is on faculty with REVEL Dance Convention, a national/international guest educator and also a full-time competition judge. Currently, she resides in New York City, is repped with The Movement Talent Agency, and is the owner of Impact Dance Adjudicators! Originally from Marietta, GA, Lesley grew up dancing under the instruction of her mother, Brenda Mealor, at The Dancers Studio. She is a graduate of Oklahoma City University with a degree in Dance Performance. Lesley's performance career has taken her around the world with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, across North America with tours of "Sweet Charity" and "The Music Man", and everywhere in between with numerous industrials and regional theatre work. She is very good friends with Elmo and Abby Cadaby through her work with Sesame Workshop, and surprises people regularly with Flash Mob America. She is currently based in New York City, where she has transitioned out of performing and is exploring life on the other side of the industry. She has worked for Capezio in the product testing division, and currently judges and directs events for Spirit of Dance Awards. Lesley is inspired by teaching young performers that what they bring to the table is enough, that good technique is the foundation for all styles, and that telling the story is more important than any trick you can do. She continues to teach locally in the tri-state area, specializing in jazz and theatre dance. Lesley currently writes for Dance Parent 101, is a sought-after adjudicator for competitions across North America, and is a founding member of Impact Dance Adjudicators, the only company in the US that provides pre-screened judges to competitions. Tony-award-winning playwright and screenwriter Steven Levenson is back to let us in on his current project with Hulu, “Up Here”. He recalls how it all started and why it was a terrifying moment for him at the time to turn it into a TV show, why they decided to find an additional executive producer for the show and their deliberate choice to set the show in 1999. Coming from theatre and having written for both movie musicals and TV musicals, Steven discusses the misconceptions and challenging aspects of TV and musicals, and why it is rarely undertaken. He also shares some of his learnings such as finding locations and having a solid plan during production to keep the ground running—a challenging but fun puzzle he likes to solve. While he can't share the projects he's currently working on, Steven is excited to get back to stage writing and continue to create something joyful and also have fun while doing so. Steven Levenson is a playwright and screenwriter who won a Tony Award for Best Book of a Musical for “Dear Evan Hansen”.
