Meet Christ in the water. Nothing can wash away my sins--nothing but the blood of Jesus. The gospel is the story of Jesus Christ, doing what we could never do, paying what we could never pay. The gospel gets a hold of our hearts and demands a response. In the New Testament, the uniting response is to confess Christ as Lord and to follow Jesus into water for this crossing over experience. Baptism is obedient faith. It is imitating Christ. It is retelling the gospel. It is obeying the greatest commandment. It is our crossing over, exodus moment. And the religious leaders rejected the council of God by not being baptized. They wanted to stay in the shadows. They didn't want to go public. That's why, as Max Lucado says in one of his books, baptism separates the car buyer from the tire-kicker. It's time to commit. It's time to unite with Christ. It's time to accept the cross as your way of life. The sermon today is titled "Step Into The Water." The Scripture reading is from Acts 8:35-39. Originally preached at the West Side Church of Christ (Searcy, AR) on August 14, 2022. These lessons fit under one of 5 broad categories: Begin, Discover, Grow, Learn, and Serve. In this final episode from the book of Genesis, we'll talk about questions like: Is the feeling of guilt good or is it bad? And how can we heal strained family relationships or forgive people who have hurt us? Building on last week's discussion, we'll look at some incredible ways that Joseph is a symbol of Jesus Christ and we'll study more about how to strengthen our relationship with Him. We'll find out how our declaration of lineage is one of the most important parts of our patriarchal blessing, and we'll take a look at a snapshot review of the entire book of Genesis and how it launches us into a journey to better understand the rest of the Old Testament and even the Restoration of the gospel in these latter days. Welcome to this week's episode! Download the Episode Transcript 0:01 - Intro and seeing the journey to Egypt as a symbol of our journey to earth and the invitation to come unto Christ; being tried and proven through tests and trials of life 11:55 - The feeling of guilt for sin: is it good or bad? How to benefit from the feelings of guilt and not become “past feeling” 14:58 - Opposition and being tried in all things, experiencing a change of heart, the invitation to enter the House of the Lord, and Joseph's divining cup 21:16 - What will it be like to meet the Savior when He returns? How to forgive those who have hurt us so we can receive our own forgiveness from the Lord, and how to heal strained family relationships 34:47 - Giving gratitude and remembering the Lord even when everything in life seems to be going our way; receiving the assurance and perspective of the Lord to begin new chapters of your life 37:07 - Consecration and giving everything we have and everything we are to the Lord as a preparation to receiving eternal life 39:16 - Patriarchal blessings, what it means to belong to the House of Israel, and our eternal identity and purpose (teaching tip) 48:22 - Snapshot review of the book of Genesis and Joseph's bookend vision and prophesy about the future of Israel, the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, Jr., and the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the latter days to gather Israel and prepare for the Savior's Second Coming
When we have accepted CHRIST into our lives, we become new creatures and no longer should live the same way as before!

Untitled Document Episode: 9 –Your Simple-yet-Scientific health & beauty guide! What we cover The Science-Boffin behind the beauty brand, Oqibo, is back! Meet Christ and find out why he is such an expert in the science behind skin cream! This week, Matt and Jan meet Chris and find out why he is such an expert regarding the science behind skin cream! Should you care about them when it comes to health and beauty? We find out why improving the moisture levels of skin can dramatically reduce the appearance of ageing on your skin. Science-expert Chris talks about collagen - it's a great active ingredient yet few of us understand the benefits of this skin care superfood! Chris brings a great level of science and knowledge to "The 'natural' debate." In the last three weeks of our Gospel Doctrine series we have: 1) met the I Am who is sovereign and supremely good above all, who has always been and ever will be; 2) learned that the I Am created us to behold Him, and, in beholding Him, to find our joy in Him, and, in finding our joy in Him, to glorify Him; 3) seen how far we have fallen in sin from God's intended design, how we are broken people, now only able to turn to human-dug broken cisterns in search for soul-satisfaction that will never be found apart from God. What a devastating plight. But O what hope there is in such awareness and such an acknowledgement. God is merciful and just. He has made a way through His Son for lost sons and daughters to be brought to Him again. This is the day of salvation! May God grant us salvation and sustenance through Christ the Lord as together we look into the life of a fellow sinner, King David, "a man after God's own heart." He too was a broken man; in fact, David was an adulterer and a murderer. Who among us would let such a wretch off the hook of divine justice? "No not one." But One did, and--praise the Lord--He still does today! Otherwise, there would be no hope for any of us. But how can such a "free pass" for David be counted righteous on God's behalf? How can God simply "pass over" his sin without violating His own holiness? How can He do what any human judge would be thrown from the bench for doing? Is God truly righteous? Is He truly a just God? Where is your hope before the Almighty, the great I Am? Grab a copy of God's Word and be silenced in humility and brought to rejoicing today through this week's Gospel Doctrine of forgiveness purchased by the blood of God's Lamb.
There is a parallel between what happens to Zacchaeus to what happens to us every Sunday.
