Few elements wield as much influence over a company's fate as the art and science of monetization. And I know from personal experience that this is a hard-to-master topic for product people. Consider the multiple complex questions that may arise: do we go for a subscription or pay-as-you-go model? How many tiers of subscriptions? What's the right price? Do we include ads? How frequent? How intrusive? At the core of all these questions is the value exchange: how much are users willing to pay (in money or attention) in exchange for the value we provide? Solving it correctly can be the difference between success and stagnation. Megan is a seasoned product leader with vast experience solving these questions in multiple industries and multiple monetization models. We explored real-life challenges, frameworks, and tips that you can apply to your strategies. The OneFootball podcast returns once again to take a look at women's football. This week Angelina Kelly is joined by Her Football Hub's Jay Lewis and Megan Hughes. This week the panel discuss the news that USA international and football legend Carli Lloyd will be retiring later this year. The discussion includes what this means for Team USA, if other players may follow in her footsteps, and what she will be remembered for. Next, there is talk of the Women's Super League and the latest transfer news involving Chelsea's academy star Reanna Blades and rumours of Manchester City's attempts to sign Atlético Madrid's Laia Aleixandri. In addition, the panel discuss the recent news regarding the FA Cup prize-money disparity between the men's and women's competitions and what can be done to close the gap. Finally, the panel give their predictions for the Women's International Champions Cup. Although it is a friendly competition it is all to play for as four of the best teams in world football are set to go head-to-head. With Lyon and Barcelona representing Europe, and Portland Thorns and Houston Dash representing the USA it will certainly be an exciting competition!
The OneFootball podcast returns once again to take a look at women's football across Europe. This week Angelina Kelly is joined by Emily Wilson and Her Football Hub's Megan Hughes. As we head into the final weekend of the Primera Iberdrola, the panel discuss Barcelona's season, Atlético Madrid's comeback after a tough few months and the latest transfers from the league. In addition the panel discuss some of the biggest signings in the transfer window this week and some of the latest transfers rumours in women's football. Lyon are currently in the middle of an overhaul which includes poaching three players from their rivals PSG and of course Arsenal's Danielle van de Donk who departs from the club after six years. Liverpool have added numerous players to their squad as Matt Beard attempts to get the Merseyside team back into the Women's Super League. Meanwhile things are not looking good for Manchester United who are still without a manager and are losing players by the day, as the panel discuss what the future could hold for the Red Devils as they are bound to be heading into a tough 2021/22 season.
The OneFootball podcast returns once again to take a look at women’s football across Europe. This week Angelina Kelly is joined by Alejandro Diago and Her Football Hub's Megan Hughes.First up and it's over to the Women's Super League where Chelsea and Manchester City faced each other in a thrilling game that ended in a 2-2 draw. With Chelsea still on top in the league with only two more games left, will Emma Hayes and her team march on to victory or stumble at the final hurdle? And if they do, will Manchester City be able to take advantage? Next it's over to France and the Champions League where PSG ended Lyon's dreams of lifting the Champions League trophy for the sixth time in a row as the Parisian side progressed to the next stage of the competition after their second leg match ended 2-2. With only the Division 1 Féminine left to play for, will Lyon be able to overcome PSG domestically and prove that they are still a force to be reckoned with? Then looking at the Primera Iberdrola, Barcelona are simply unstoppable at the moment at the top of the league. However, the final two Champions League spots are still up for grabs. Real Madrid are just one point behind Levante - could they take second place in their first season donning the Real Madrid name? Meanwhile, with Atlético Madrid currently in seventh position, can they still manage to finish the season on a high note? And finally for this week's hot topic, with the groups for the women's football tournament in the Olympics this summer finally drawn, the panel take a look at which teams will progress to the quarter finals. With the likes of Germany and Spain not featuring in the competition this year and nations such as Zambia and Chile making their debuts, the panel also discuss who will be winning gold this summer in Tokyo.
The OneFootball podcast returns once again to take a look at women’s football across Europe. This week Angelina Kelly is joined by Her Football Hub's Drew Diamond and Megan Hughes. First up it's the Primera Iberdrola, and despite Barcelona sitting pretty at the top of the table with a nine-point lead, things are really heating up in the race for the two other Champions League spots. Over the weekend Real Madrid lost out on solidifying their position in third place after suffering a defeat at the hands of Levante, who have had a great season so far. Over in the Women's Super League, Arsenal got an important win over Manchester United in a dramatic game as both teams compete in the race for the third spot in the league. In addition there was reaction to the historic broadcast rights deal in England that was announced this week, which means that from next season WSL games will be shown live across the BBC and Sky. Then to Germany where there were some big games in the DFB Pokal including a surprisingly subdued victory for Bayern Munich and wins for Wolfsburg, Freiburg and Eintracht Frankfurt. And finally instead of a hot topic this week, Angelina spoke to Fiorentina and Ireland centre-back Louise Quinn to talk about her impressive career that has seen her play in Sweden, Ireland, England and now Italy, how she has found living in Florence, and the struggles that female footballers can sometimes face.
We were delighted to welcome the first ever female guest onto our Mind On The Game series, Megan Hughes. The OneFootball podcast returns once again to take a look at women’s football across Europe. This week, in honour of International Women's Day, Angelina Kelly is joined by an all-female panel with Her Football Hub's Megan Hughes and Manchester United Women's Supporters Club founder Natalie Burrell.First up it's the WSL and the race is truly on at the top and bottom of the table as a win for Manchester City kept their title hopes alive and wins for Manchester United and Arsenal meant that the two clubs will have to battle it out for that third Champions League spot in their meeting next week. Meanwhile Bristol City managed to climb out of the relegation zone which meant West Ham found themselves bottom of the league as they desperately search for a way out. Over in Germany, Bayern Munich celebrated another victory as they secured their 20th straight win in all competitions - can anybody stop this team? Then in Italy Juventus triumphed over AC Milan with a 4-0 win that saw them go six points clear of their opposition, with the victory surely indicating that Rita Guarino's team will be crowned Serie A champions for the fourth time in a row. And finally for this week's hot topic, the panel celebrated International Women's Day which included discussions about what women's football means to them, the next steps for the sport and which women in football they admire including the likes of Casey Stoney, Alex Scott and Asisat Oshoala.
