BREAKING: we interrupt your daily doomscroll with an emergency broadcast addressing the use of A.I. technology in music! It's impossible to keep up with all the new developments. Every day seems to bring more stories of a new way A.I. is going to change everything we think we know about music by, like, next week. From celebrity impersonations to bringing back the voices of dead legends to ending the careers of pop stars and entirely putting humans out of work - how's all this stuff actually going to shake out? If only there were two assholes with no reason to avoid saying exactly what needs to be said about the music industry... That's right, friends! Mark and Tyler are here to answer, well, maybe not all the questions you have but definitely most of the questions smart people should be asking at this moment in history. One thing is for certain, no matter what: A.I. music sucks! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/yfbspod/message
Nick invites everyone to get off his lawn.
Lance talks about today's pop and country music and why it sucks. He opines it's a filtering issue. There's just no filter on what flushes down the internet stream. There used to be record companies and radio and TV programmers standing guard. Though, all of them must have been asleep at the switch with Disco Duck, Muskrat Love, et al. Et al. is a legal term - Google it!If anyone, and he means anyone, can record at home, and dump their cough, cough, "craft" onto the net there's no one to say, Hell no. Not on my watch or with my ears. I.e. no filterEnjoy a not in stereo semi-rant. Maybe, Lance needs a filter, too.

Erik writes a song about how crappy Christmas music is!
Life happens so we had to skip the last one but the traditional YFBS anti-Christmas episode is needed this year more than ever. Question: how many of you at this point in 2022 feel like you've already had Christmas marketed to you for two entire months and we still have most of December to go before it's finally over? Well that's because it's exactly what happened and your favorite workshop elves are here to dutifully break down the bullshittery of it all in an epic and timely fashion. Enough is enough! Stop the madness! Christmas music sucks! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/yfbspod/message

Sorry to keep going on and on about how my voice is fucked up and how much my music is sucking these days. I mean, like, I've had writer's blocks and all that in the past, but for some reason, this particular writer's block is extra special shitty-feeling. And the mystery of my janky, fucked up voice continues to persist. I think the icky bad feelings over this musical slump are extra-special pronounced cuz 2021 was such a good year for music, and people started following my music and now I'm disappointing everyone with poop-worthy songs.
A multi decade trip down a musical memory lane on all the tunes we loved… but claimed the rest sucked. There will be a few band names you'll be looking up in your library after listening to this. ;0) The websites mentioned in this episode: McCrossens Tavern, where the music debate (and great food and drinks) happen Alice Cooper and the chicken incident Smooth Jazz from the internet radio station: ijazzglobal

New Ep. featuring D Town and Howie.
Popdose writer and host of the podcast X Marks the Pod Beau Dure speculated why today's music sucks on his podcast. Well, Ted Asregadoo invited him to Planet LP to talk about the opposite: Why music today does not suck. In a world where recording music is much, much easier than it was between the 1960s to the early 2000s, finding good to great new music can be a challenge. Ted and Beau talk about some of those challenges in a landscape where a lot of good music gets buried in a sea of mediocrity.
