A founding member of The Rascals (AKA The Young Rascals), Felix is an inductee of the Songwriters, Rock and Roll, Hammond, Hit Parade, and Musicians halls of fame. Playing organ and piano with The Rascals, he frequently collaborated with bandmate Eddie Brigati to write some of the band's most successful songs, such as “How Can I Be Sure?,” “I've Been Too Lonely Too Long,” “A Beautiful Morning,” and “Groovin'.” The band had 3 #1 Billboard Hot 100 hits including “Good Lovin',” a song that the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame has included on its list of the 500 songs that shaped Rock & Roll. Their Civil Rights anthem “People Got To Be Free” became their final No. 1 track in both the U.S. and Canada. Felix went on to release six solo albums, be a touring member of Ringo Starr's third All-Starr Band, perform with Billy Joel, record an album with Steve Cropper, and starred in a heralded Broadway musical revue, Once Upon A Dream, in 2013. Since this is the final episode before the Feast of the Seven Fishes and Christmas arrive in earnest, we’re sending you into the holiday in style with our Italian American Christmas Musical Revue! As many of us will be celebrating a more sedate version of our favorite holiday this year because many families are kept apart in these unprecedented circumstances, we thought we would help fill the volume void by taking you through some favorites from our Italian American Christmas Playlist. We’ll share the songs that define our Christmases, from traditional English-language classics interpreted by the Italian American icons of yesteryear, to the Italian hits that have made their way into our American holiday, to the unique songs written to celebrate a distinctly Italian American Christmas. Plus, you’ll learn the history of some of these unique musical traditions on a journey from the American Heartland to the Hills of Italy. And, in a special bonus segment, John and Pat sit down with songwriter Nancy Triggiani, whose 2018 hit “Dominooch” shares the story of the son of Dominick the Donkey, and takes its place as the newest Italian American Christmas classic. Remember, you and yours can listen along with us to six-plus hours of uninterrupted, never repeated, and carefully curated Italian and Italian American Christmas classics by visiting our one-of-a-kind Yule Pot Playlist at www.yulepot.com We hope these songs are ringing through your home come Christmas Eve and that you and yours enjoy a healthy, safe, and BUON NATALE!

http://www.attractionchecklist.com - Hope you are hungry! This episode we head to Walt Disney World's Fort Wilderness to experience the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. Our longest episode yet! Recorded on January 16, 2020. TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to Attraction Checklist. This episode we head to Pioneer Hall at Walt Disney World’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground to experience the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue! The Walt Disney World website describes this dinner and show by saying: 'A hilarious, high-spirited hootenanny the whole family will enjoy, accompanied by a finger-lickin’ countrified feast.' There are no age or height requirements and there is no thrill level either. Before we visit with Dolly, Six Bits and the rest of the Pioneer Hall Players, here are five fast facts about the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue! 1. The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue debuted at Fort Wilderness on Sunday, June 30, 1974. 2. Pioneer Hall, where the show takes place is built from 1,283 pine logs from Montana and 70 tons of stones from North Carolina. 3. The first draft of the show was entitled "We're With You, Mother McCree!" and a later version was called "The Whoop-Dee-Doo," which inspired the final title. 4. Though the music in the show remains mostly unchanged since the show opened, in 1979, the song ‘Apple Pie Hoedown’ was replaced by “Strawberry Short Cake Walk” after Strawberry Shortcake replaced Apple Pie on the menu. 5. A version of the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue played in Tokyo Disneyland from the park open in 1983 until 1995. And now it’s time for the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. After the show I’ll give you my thoughts on this extravaganza! This is a stereo recording, but to save you from hearing me eat, I did not wear the binaural microphone headphones, I just left the stereo recorder on the table. You’re welcome. Here now is the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground at Walt Disney World. In this episode, Dustin & Ky attempt to add a little structure to their podcast and discuss the latest Nine Inch Nails release, then Dustin just derails the conversation with an extended reappraisal of musician/filmmaker Glenn Danzig's various artistic endeavors. Mostly he tries to explain to Ky just how fascinatingly incompetent "Verotika" truly is.
In this episode, writer and podcaster David Levy discusses the musical revue, from The Ziegfeld Follies to Forbidden Broadway. We also talk about the song "Something" from the revue Upstairs at O'Neals.
On this final episode of season four, I'm joined by the stars of ENCORE: A MUSICAL REVUE, Jennifer DeDominici and Curt Olds. (Curt is also the director and curator!) Settle in for all-you-care-to-eat fried chicken, bbq spare ribs, baked beans, mashed potatoes, and corn. Then top it all off with a giant portion of strawberry shortcake.
I love musicals, but it turns out I don't love all musicals. On this episode I'm gonna talk about a musical I truly hated and regretted seeing. I'll discuss why this musical was so bad, and what I wish it had done instead. If you want to hear me get really angry over a musical this is the show for you.
Jerry Seinfeld, Hawaiian Big Band, Burlesque, 1940's Musical Revue and more.

Your favorite film analysis podcast moves along slightly in the '80s as the Musical Revue continues with a look at Hairspray (1988). John Waters' cult classic is unabashedly campy and bizarre, but does it hold up to the test of time? As we continue along this musical journey, Hairspray is a bit of an odd departure. The original 1988 film is less a musical and more of a dance film. There are still musical numbers, but they're filled with dance, rather than singing. So, it's a bit off the rails in that regard. But, we still had a good conversation around it. Brushing Out Hairspray John Waters moved away from his transgressive roots with Hairspray. Several of his key players still show up, including Divine as Edna Turnblad, Tracy's mother. But, by and large, Hairspray is a much more accessible film, in comparison to his earlier works. Set in the 60s, Tracy loves watching the Corny Collins Show, which is one of those classic shows where a bunch of pretty teens dance for an hour. Tracy is enamored. Tracy, defined in the film as pleasantly plump, doesn't adhere to societies norms or values, and reaches out to take what she believes is hers—with great success. The film includes a plot thread involving segregation, but as we discuss in the show, it's much more than simply, black and white. On this week's episode, we discuss Cult Directors We Want to Make a Musical. After our standard gameplay and quick reviews, we partner up with Hairspray and hit the dance floor. We talk race, queer film, form and function as we try to dig deep in to the film. GET IN TOUCH Thanks for joining us this week!
