Laureata in Economia e Commercio con Federico Caffè, lavora per alcuni anni come giornalista economica e ricercatrice. Inizia la carriera di scrittrice nel cinema sceneggiando insieme al padre il film TV Il matrimonio di Caterina (1982) e il lungometraggio Buon Natale... Buon anno del 1989; è co-sceneggiatrice di Ennio De Concini in Quattro storie di donne (1986) e autrice insieme a Suso Cecchi D'Amico dei televisivi Cuore e La Storia, entrambi diretti dal padre.Nel 1988 esordisce alla regia con una fiaba lieve e aggraziata, Zoo, cui fanno seguito l'ambizioso ed elegante I divertimenti della vita privata (1990), il criptico e sinuoso La fine è nota (1992, tratto dal romanzo omonimo di Geoffrey Holliday Hall), il fortunato Matrimoni (1998) e successivamente Liberate i pesci con Michele Placido e Laura Morante, passando nel 1995 per la trascrizione in immagini del celebrato bestseller di Susanna Tamaro Va' dove ti porta il cuore. Del 2005 è La bestia nel cuore, pellicola nominata all'Oscar come miglior film straniero e premiata al Festival del Cinema di Venezia con la Coppa Volpi per l'interprete femminile protagonista, Giovanna Mezzogiorno. Nel gennaio 2008 Cristina Comencini è tornata al cinema con Bianco e nero, commedia e storia d'amore appassionato tra un giovane uomo italiano senza grandi idee sul tema dell'Africa e una donna senegalese che vive in Italia da dieci anni. Sceneggiatrice de La donna della mia vita, ha partecipato alla 68. edizione della Mostra Internazionale di Arte Cinematografica di Venezia con il lungometraggio Quando la Notte. Latin Lover con un cast quasi tutto al femminile del 2015. Qualcosa di nuovo, adattamento cinematografico dello spettacolo teatrale La scena, è il suo penultimo film, uscito nel 2017. Dear Diary (& Listeners), There is so much I want to say.     Today I reflect on the fact that this is the TENTH episode of The Dichotomy Diaries... TEN?! I was so scared to release the TRAILER you guys... I remember recording it over and over again. On my IPHONE of all devices.  Something inside of me knew that this was exactly what I needed to heal, find purpose, and remember the feeling of self-love.   With Christmas right around the corner, I feel more emotional than usual.    I am so PROUD of myself.  I am so HUMBLED with the support I receive from you all.  I am SHOCKED at the amount of listener submissions I receive.  I am NOSTALGIC for the warmth of family tradition around the holiday season. I am DISGUSTED at the attempts of Victim Shaming that happens in our society.  I am MOTIVATED to continue to lead by example for those who have been taken advantage of an abused.   I AM ALL THE THINGS.  And that's probably why I cried during this episode.    In Episode 10 - The House Always Wins, we uncover the truth behind the mysterious Arizona Woman who shared countless hours on the phone with Dick, and all the things associated. We finally move into our BELOVED apartment in the "best part" of town...And Christmas is spent with Dick's family. That holiday was filled with a lot of love. I remember feeling such warmth. However, there was this unshakable feeling that something was wrong...or maybe it was that there was something- that everyone around me knew, but I didn't.    This is my piece of advice for you. Especially after recording this episode... Childhood Trauma, whatever that may be, is NO joke.  If you do not seek to heal or understand your childhood trauma, you WILL carry it into every relationship you have in the future- until you do.  Give your parents grace. They are doing this for the first time too.  And tell your family that you love them as often as you can.    While Christmas may seem like a happy time of year to most; to some, there is a dreaded anticipation around the approach of this holiday. To some, Christmas serves as a stark reminder that the people we love most, are no longer with us.    If you find yourself sad around the Christmas because of the absence of loved ones; I challenge you do at least one thing a day that is in celebration of those gone too soon. Light a candle at church. Play their favorite song in the car. He is one of my East Coast cugines, hailing from Long Island, New York. he has done some pretty cool stuff on his 33 years on the rock. He has also been high for most of it! Jon Cappetta, is currently the VP of Content for High Times Magazine. Having judged every major cannabis competition, from the Clio's to Zalympix, he publishes a monthly collection of his favorite new products, dubbed "the Stone-Cold Cop List," for High Times, as well as feature profiles on his favorite brands. A lifelong creative, Jon has been finding ways to work in the music and greater entertainment industries since he was a teen. He's a mover and a shaker and on literally every cannabis scene you can think of globally. He currently resides in sunny Los Angeles, and we finally got him to the studio during his travels to Sacramento. We spent 6 festive days in Copenhagen experiencing Danish Hyyge before heading to Italy. It was filled with Christmas traditions that the Danes have passed down over the years, and naturally a lot of bread, cheese and beer was consumed by all! We arrived in Lake Como the day after Buon Natale to find the village of Cernobbio in full holiday mode with the entire village covered in lights. These beloved Neapolitan confections, deep fried and coated in a sticky sweet sheen of freshly warmed honey, are often considered an essential part of an Italian American Christmas, but for this week's guest, they're special enough to earn the title of “show stopper." Annie Petito is one of the incredibly talented culinarians behind Cook's Illustrated, perhaps the most highly-respected publication amongst America's chefs. When this proud Italian American got the chance to select the magazine's annual “show stopper” Christmas dessert, she went back to her roots to share her family's recipe for Christmas Struffoli. Of course, when you're publishing in a journal as highly regarded as hers, you can't simply pass along Nonna's old notecards, so Annie set out to construct the most scientifically accurate recipe that's ever been written for these humble little treats! In the process, she discovered their fascinating history goes back to ancient Greece!
