“If Bruce Dickinson wants more cowbell, we should probably give him more cowbell…” You've heard of movies based on books, but what about albums based on books? IRON MAIDEN's seventh studio album, SEVENTH SON OF A SEVENTH SON, released on April 11, 1988, is inspired by Orson Scott Card's 1987 novel “Seventh Son” and is their first official “keyboard” album, confirming IRON MAIDEN's progressive metal mastery as one of the finest progressive metal albums of all time. Get ready to take on an army of “Roided up Roos” who are “boxing the trees” and always remember the following: “there's no such thing as bad publicity”, “you can't push a rope” and the odds of 2 different people asking the exact same question within a day or two is not just some “random coincidence”. Understand why “Steve Harris with distortion” is almost as weird as “Slayer with keyboards”, find out “who's the outfielder?”, discover the secret code behind “French Toast and Waffle Dust”, and tell all the Trans-Ams and Transformers you know that “I measure from my middle back” before you JOIN US for a dive into “the heart of prog Maiden” with IRON MAIDEN's progressive metal magnum opus, SEVENTH SON OF A SEVENTH SON. It's an EmMajority Report Thursday! Emma speaks with writer and historian Rebecca Jane Morgan to discuss their recent book Gender Heretics: Evangelicals, Feminists, and the Alliance against Trans Liberation. Then, she speaks with Jonah Walters, postdoctoral scholar at UCLA's Institute for Society and Genetics, to discuss a book compilation he co-edited entitled Only The Good Die Young: The Verdict Against Henry Kissinger, published via Jacobin and Verso Books. First, Emma runs through updates on Jake Sullivan's visit to various authoritarian utopias, Israel's indiscriminate bombing, growing backlash to Israel, Biden's bleak polling, the House impeachment inquiry, January 6th, and Floridian education action, before touching on Israel's abuse of the Two-State solution. Rebecca Jane Morgan then joins, first taking on the definition of Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminism, before stepping back to walk through the longer history of Evangelical Christianity to trans identity, including a long period of a mixed yet positive recognition of the community – particularly with the parallels of “rebirth” – over the 20th Century. Moving into the 2000s, Morgan tackles the role of the Gender Recognition Act in the UK in igniting Evangelical backlash – largely because of its policies around same-sex marriage – whereas the US' legislative body took until the 2010s for the bathroom debate came to the fore. Rebecca concludes the conversation by walking through the particular alignment of Terfs and Evangelicals over their somatophobia towards trans people, and what that means for the fight for trans rights moving forward. Jonah Walters and Emma then explore the life and legacy of Henry Kissinger as they walk through his prevalent (and bipartisan) role in US politics, and his ideological grounding in pure American hegemony, before stepping back to assess the importance of his rise to power during the Cold War, bolstering the growth of America's capital order internationally while continuously and intentionally undermining any liberatory and anti-capitalist movements in the third world. Wrapping up, Walters parses through the obscene death count that follows Kissinger to his grave. And in the Fun Half: Emma is joined by Brandon Sutton and Matt Binder as they talk with Eddie from Ft. Worth about culturally undermining the KKK, explore the absolute vitriol that zionists have been leveling against their students, and discuss the return of severe islamophobia in the form of fear-of-arabic-words. Tommy the Music Guy tackles some music recommendations and explores tensions between the US and Mexico, and Josh Hawley presses a judicial nomination on the ethics of being brown, plus, your calls and IMs! When it comes down to it we see that the education of America is priming the children to become zombies and raging lunatics when they grow up. But we don't have to wait until they grow up they are a menace to society itself inside the schools that are presently teaching nothing but perversion and unattaching kids from society. We are creating a generation of leeches that do not know how to contribute to society. There are no longer novels red in the classroom, but rather the antics of an insane ideology that has children professing to be furbies or some other insane idea. It has been said the Good die Young, but in reality it is the good that will survive. Because in this world the evil are destroying the evil with cosmic death rays that rain terror and destruction down from space. We see food prices soaring and democracy becoming communism. Those that are now in charge would corral you in a cage and call it a 15-minute City; when in fact it is a lifetime prison. We will see calamities, but those that stand firm to the fundamentals that Christ laid for his followers will Outlast even the best prepared prepper. For only the Good survive.

We make the 45-minute playlists. We rank the greatest songs. No stone is left unturned. You want amateurish thoughts on this subject, go read Chuck Klosterman. But if you want EXPERTISE on Billy Joel, put it right on here Jagbags!
Continuing with Hypothesis VIII and considering the experience of those who die and come back to life, we are brought to a place of self-reflection that we often resist. The only thing that we take out of this world is either our virtue or our vice. Saint Ephraim tells us tonight that it is the it voice of these sins that will bear witness to the truth about our lives before God. Again we must strive to think about this in the full context of our faith and what God has revealed to us. God, we are told, wills that all be saved and does everything in his power to bring us to salvation. In His Son He has revealed to us his love and his mercy and he has given us the fullness of his grace in order to elevate us to the very life and the love of the Trinity. We must see our lives in light of this ultimate reality and our engagement with the world around us must be given shaped by this distinctive identity. There is no in-between state for us as Christian men and women. Life has been given to us for repentance; that is, in order to turn toward God and to receive his grace and mercy. We must not through heedlessness or sloth elevate other things above God and make them our idols. The stories that we are presented with tonight call out to us: “Now is the time, now is the moment of salvation.” Let us pray that we would have ears to hear. --- Text of chat during the group: 00:11:56 John Clark: The 3 key ingredients in French cooking..Butter..butter..and butter! 00:34:11 Ambrose: gaudium et spes 00:37:39 Lilly: in the wise words of an old man ... ‘god meets us where we are' 00:40:06 Tyler Woloshyn: Like the Old Testament Brazen Snake was made for good, it did get corrupted when misused for the wrong reasons. The path to living an extraordinary life is simple, but time consuming. It isn’t just one magical event that happens to only some people that makes one’s life extraordinary. It is the small events, the love, forgiveness, people, moments, attitude, intelligence, difference and healing throughout the course of an entire lifetime that makes for an extraordinary life. Some of us live longer than others. Some don’t spend as much time on earth as others do. Billy Joel sang, “Only The Good Die Young.” When I take that phrase away from the context of the song, I like to consider it to mean, “What are you waiting for? Start living today!” I have written a lot on this topic about extraordinary circumstances, possibilities, leadership, redemption, riches, uniqueness and purpose. Take action today on living your own extraordinary life. Review the extraordinary series and choose to take those small and simple steps. And another. And then another. Plus, Tom chats with Paul Stanley of KISS (his fave band ever!). Paul’s likeability is in stark contrast to Tom’s encounters with Gene Simmons. We also have an early ‘70s chat with Alice Cooper, plus Cool Song Facts that will blow your mind!
Liberty and I could've both used a cocktail at the top of the show, but we laughed instead. I thought Mercury went direct. Yo. A few tech glitches couldn't stop the force that's Liberty Devitto. Drummer for Billy Joel for 30 years, Lib's been on 150 million albums sold, while between touring and recording with Billy he was running off with Stevie Nicks, The Beach Boys, Karen Carpenter, Phoebe Snow, Meat Loaf, and countless others. Lib shared how Only The Good Die Young did not become a reggae song... thanks for that Lib, and how Moving Out was born. There's a great Steve Winwood yearbook Story. Lots about Ringo who sparked him, and then Dino Danelli, of The Rascals. Liberty took us through his High School band, where meeting girls was the incentive... passing Bill Joe, as he was called then, nightly, aware of each other's bands, but not friends, until Billy requested a New York drummer (rock speak for "hits hard.") Liberty was the man. How he got the gig.. and how he kept it, and then shockingly lost it without a word. What's happened since and what's going on now for the 68-year-old daddy of a 1 1/2 yr old baby girl. His daughter Torrey who’s killing it on Chicago Med, another about the go out with Fleetwood Mac, a Nurse to be... and a baby who's marching. Not bad daddying right there. We talked The Slim Kings, Clean Getaway and The Lords of 52nd Street. Liberty's created drum riffs which are indelible in millions upon millions of minds... he's taken a few liberties, too. One of the greatest drummers who's ever picked up the stix, having seen him play innumerable times, I can say he's my pic with confidence. The man's a killer... and a lover, a husband, a daddy. a friend... such worthy time, diggin' in. 45 Grave is one of the more interesting bands associated with deathrock and one that needs to be discussed. Their sound has elements of many different genres and blends them into a very unique sound. They're often compared to Christian Death in style, but are further from that sound than one would be led to believe. On this episode we take a look at Sleep In Safety, Autopsy, Only The Good Die Young, and Pick Your Poison. Click here to listen
