Have you ever felt stuck, unable to move forward, and unsure why? This phenomenon is often referred to as the freeze response, a primal reaction that occurs when our nervous system perceives a threat, causing physical and emotional paralysis. While we've all heard of the fight or flight response, the freeze response is a lesser-known yet equally important aspect of our body's fear response. In this video, we'll delve into the world of physiological and emotional regulation, exploring how our nervous system responds to danger and how somatic therapy can help you overcome emotional paralysis. By understanding the polyvagal theory and the role of the dorsal vagal complex, you'll gain insight into why you may be experiencing emotional paralysis and how to break free from its grip. Join us as we explore the freeze response and discover how to regain control over your emotions and move forward with confidence. Key takeaways: - The freeze response is a biological protective state. - It's not a choice; it's an intelligent survival strategy. - Procrastination and numbness can be manifestations of freeze. - Awareness is crucial for reconnecting with the nervous system. - Gentle movements and touch can help re-engage the body. - Co-regulation with a trusted person can aid in healing. - Moving through fight or flight is necessary to heal from freeze. - Creating a sense of safety is essential for recovery. - Small steps towards healing are significant. - Your body is trying to keep you safe; it's not your fault. The game is the long-awaited follow-up to the 2017 action-adventure game that proved to be an indie hit. Also coming to the service is Lords of the Fallen (not to be confused with the 2014 Lords of the Fallen, of which this is a quasi-sequel/soft reboot), EA Sports NHL 24, Chants of Sennaar, Moving Out 2, Immortals of Aveum, and more. In other news, Square Enix is admitted their latest Final Fantasy games have not met financial expectations. Last year's Final Fantasy 16, this year's Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and the multiplayer game Foamstars contributed to a loss of operating income for the company. Square Enix will undergo a restructuring, and will pursue a multiplatform strategy (Final Fantasies 16 and 7 Rebirth were both PS5 exclusive). And finally, in video game-adjacent news, Prime Video has ordered the live-action Tomb Raider show to series, meaning production will be fully underway with writer and executive producer Phoebe Waller-Bridge at the helm.d
Have you ever received a nude that was just…boring? Alex definitely has. In this week's episode, Alex and Jon discuss receiving boring nudes, video-game-obsessed boyfriends, and getting “off”. Alex says she would never marry someone who couldn't get her off but then again, she married Jon. Marriage is all about sacrifice, I guess. Jordon Holdaway was born with a rebellious spirit. Mix that with some difficult circumstances in his life and it was a recipe for disaster. At about 10, he had the great idea of selling pies to all the people in the neighborhood, never mind that he had no intention of delivering any pies. Finding his identity in going against the grain, his single mother could do little to reign him in. Finding drugs in his later teens, he continued down the rebellious road into a life of drugs and crime and violence. Facing another very long prison term, he convinced a public prosecutor to allow him to go to The Other Side Academy in SLC. There he found his way and came to himself bringing out the potential that everyone but himself recognized. Listen in as he tells his story, including some of the powerful change agents in The Other Side Academy. Nicky and Eric make strides to improve their pivoting skills in an episode all about Moving Out. Moving Out is a 2020 cooperative moving simulation game developed by Swedish studio DevM Games and Australian developer SMG Studio. In a local cooperative experience, players move objects from houses into a moving van while coping with exaggerated physics. The game was released for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on April 28, 2020, and for Amazon Luna on January 28, 2021. Press Any Button hosts Nicky (a new gamer) and Eric (a lifetime gamer) are a married couple who both love video games. For every video game they will discuss its past (history of the game, developers story, and fun facts), present (game play, game review and strategy), and future (will there be a sequel?? A movie?) BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE… Every game also comes with a challenge presented by the host that chose the game. If the challenge is not completed then whoever failed has to do a video game rap! So if you want to learn more about video games, hear some nerdy video game raps, or just have a good time this is the podcast for you. We try to cover all types of video games including: Retro and New video games Playstation, Nintendo, Xbox, Sega, and PC games Any and all genres including RPG, Simulation, Beat em up, platforming, mystery, first person shooter, sandbox, puzzle, action adventure, etc. Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/pressanybutton_podcast Credits: Nicky Smith Eric Luedtke Music by Mark Spurlock References: https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/05/feature_moving_out_-_smg_studio_on_pre-gaming_apartment_moves_and_collaborating_across_continents https://www.screenhub.com.au/news/features/how-moving-out-entertains-us-while-the-world-stays-in-260285-1427999/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moving_Out_(video_game) https://videochums.com/article/smg-studio-on-moving-out
