Hello and I dive into a pep-talk about anti-fans and the unfortunate lack of choices we had in this situation. (Hopefully the previous podcast caught you up with the main topic of the whole show.) Next I go for the scene by scene topics hitting on a little love for The Kids In The Hall with Milligan and Hecubus. Plenty of trivia involving all fandoms from Beetlejuice to The Munsters to Dark Shadows. (And even Star Trek!) How the big-fight was put together with BJ versus V'Angelique.Plenty of love for Roger, and in many ways The Pit of Ultimate Dark Shadows is meant for fans of Roger Collins. (If you are a fan of DS but not of Roger Collins? I'd say you're S.O.L. for what I have.) Throughout this show reveals various helps from Osheen Nevoy! ^_^Fun adoration for Lester from The Munsters compared to DS werewolves. Also attention to Carolyn's feelings and Victoria's potential connection to her. Lengthy introspection with the Evans/duPres reincarnation duo. Andre duPres' strong feelings about Josette and Barnabas resounds from the 1790s. Continuing on to Wadsworth and Willie Loomis bonding further as well as Willie and Sarah's ghost. Two romantic dates ensue from Tony and Carolyn interrupted by The Shriners to Hoffman and Stokes having a fancy dinner with supernatural topics they are so good at. Helping Milligan and Hecubus to catch up the audience with historical potentials, doing our best to get Lily and Liz on the boat, so the rush job on Bill's ghost with how long this episode took to produce is the standard affliction known as “Hurry Up And Wait!” Wrapping up with what happiness came for the episode, and the koo-koo that's plaguing us all with unhappiness. Tips on how to protect oneself against surveillance and persuasive technology. Hopes for anti-fans becoming ex-anti-fans.

Milligan and Hecubus appear to discourse their usual updates and introduction.Amy and David enter the Collinwood breakfast room in which David's father, Roger, responds to their questions very distractedly. Mrs. Johnson has more to serve along with some sage words.Prior to her governess role, Maggie stops at home in the Evans Cottage to inquire for help from Captain Gregg via her father, Sam.Cousin Lily tests a theory with her cousin, Elizabeth Stoddard, on the RMS Queen Elizabeth, in which they play “Kings In The Corner” with the ghost of Bill Malloy. Much repartee ensues. As Sam continues painting his still-life, Maggie enters relaying one personal problem and the two continue to request Captain Gregg in order to discover what he's observed. Captain Gregg is well informed, if a little agitated, leaving Maggie in want of warning Roger Collins about an upcoming danger to his person.Wadsworth interrupts the thankful Willie as he is calligraphically scripting pangrams. Between shared updates, Wadsworth manages to proffer old assurances they'd agreed upon, including the trousers replacement he promised Willie Loomis. Since Wadsworth has recently visited Wyndcliff with Barnabas, he has further information about Nurse Jackson to bestow, which catches Willie's interest further. After Milligan and Hecubus cascade the endless soap operas of the 1960's, Maggie goes to warn Roger Collins about his upcoming doom, to which Roger manages to be very accommodating about. Onward and upward at Professor Stokes house, we meet with said Professor Stokes and Dr. Hoffman, after their night at Collinwood, and reliving their past lives to the best of their abilities. When impatience arrives due to continual changes, our collegiate couple decides it is time to consult a medium. Suggestions of romance occur. (The doctor agrees to remain the night if the professor contacts Madam Findley.) Arrangements are made, including Julia staying the night within Elliot's abode. Roger receives the delirious pointers to his own demise upon the stairwell and takes a trusty pistol toward this endeavour, only to decide on an old fashioned method of sliding down the stairs to accompany his decision. As he trundles forward, Maggie wonders if he is dead and Roger reassures her that he is fine and she plays it up. (Much fuss continues from there…)

Milligan and Hecubus appear to discourse their usual updates and introduction.Returning to the West Wing, Amy wonders about Quentin as David wanders in. David convinces Amy to leave and return to her room and have a séance in which they could bring Quentin to them. As they do, the new governess, Maggie Evans, approaches to both send David to bed and tuck Amy in, with memories about Amy's brothers to share with her.Even as strange things are afoot in The Great House, the ghost of Sarah Collins finds Barnabas in bed at The Old House to warn him of what she senses going on between David and his new friend. Yet again Amy Jennings is awoken from slumber, hearing strange voices at her window, then leaps toward Maggie's room for comfort.Venturing to the fountain in the back garden, Maggie, as Josette, discusses a few upcoming details with The Widows. Mention of Captain Gregg occurs here.) And here we finally are with a reincarnation talking to old friends still in spirit, but very akin to the one-sided listening of a telephone discussion a person might hear. (As our hosts might express: “To boldly go where EVEN Bella Heathcote's Josette has never gone before!”)As Maggie returns to her room she meets with Carolyn Stoddard walking through the upstairs hall. A bit more catch-up between the supernatural and the mundane ensues. At last Maggie returns to her bedroom to both explain and not explain to Amy Jennings what occurred. The harpsichord is heard at The Addams Family residence as Peter, Victoria and Morticia are engaged in a game of Parcheesi. Meanwhile our patriarchal Gomez is on the telephone elevating his determination to have a problem solved: that of Peter Bradford's “legal” identity.Maggie Evans reaches The Old House, encountering Wadsworth, Willie and Barnabas, in order to explain the previous night's events, as well as the advice she received of what to do next via The Widows. Further clues in discussion come up as well as Barnabas revealing Sarah's warnings. Later, Maggie meets with Professor Stokes and Doctor Hoffman at The Great House of Collinwood, with plans to perform a séance to approach Quentin Collins and discover why the children are interacting with his ghost. Roger Collins enters, as acerbic as ever, and accepts the invitation to join the séance. As they conjure up whatever spirits might be present, it is Doctor Hoffman that “gives up the ghost” and creates wonder in all our other participants. Rakosi and non Rakosi make themselves known. Professor Stokes agrees to whatever his sweetheart will reveal, as Maggie Evans leaves one glass of water as a way of testing her own astral manifestations before our lovers may continue forward in their journey together. *Special Guest Star: MAGDA RAKOSI!*
You wanted it? You got it! This podcast is marked [EXPLICIT!]We know Tito from my husband's high school days… Tito very much enjoys the Dark Shadows 2012 film because he doesn't know the old show and frankly, doesn't care! He came over as my husband and I were playing dominoes. It was pretty cool!Instructions on how to differentiate real hate from “manufactured hate”. (It's actually pretty simple, fellow fans…) Then my consultation with Melissa about the “confusion” about the confusion itself. :DTito's 1960's Nostalgia is good enough for me. We begin with a “garbled” discussion between my husband, Tito and I. ^_^ Next we start with “The Kids In The Hall”, then “Clue: The Movie” (with a segue about “Murder By Death” that hopefully wasn't too long). Proceeding with “The Time Machine”, “The Golden Girls” and other cameos in The Pit narrative, a likely a too long segue explaining who Edward Mulhare played on “Knight Rider”. Then “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir”, a Prisoner cameo scene, “The Addams Family” (lots of conversation here including Charles Addams original drawings in The New Yorker) and “The Munsters”. (Bonus Points to Tito for knowing Fred Gwynne from another production!) M*A*S*H and Beetlejuice mentions. Almost neglected “Bewitched” but caught myself in time! (Some focus on Paul Lynde.)Finalizing in bringing out the “Dark Shadows” box set to place on Tito's lap. ^_^ Determining how one could ‘marathon' the whole of “Dark Shadows”. Darrin Stephens hanging-out with Roger Collins ideas… Then I wrap up with various potential scholastic pointers including:Don't focus on the negative and, dare I say it? Don't focus on the positive?Focus on the *NARRATIVE*.Themes for this show: “Katip Arzvhalim Yaz Yare Boyle” by Mogollar, “waltzinblack” by The Stranglers (a favourite band between Tito and my husband) and if one enjoys the background music on the stereo while we chatted? That was a compilation called “Beautiful Noise” by Sunday Records. BUY ‘EM ALL! *wink*

Sir Simon Milligan and Manservant Hecubus appear to discourse their usual updates and introduction. As Elizabeth conjures “Drunken Sailor” on the piano, the ghost of Bill Malloy arrives and begins to explain the endless considerations of how he died, all based on the original “Dark Shadows” series. Many old and new histories are revealed as Liz and Bill come to a further understanding. Wafting towards evening, Maggie inquires of Bob at The Blue Whale what the recent news there is after the break-in the night before. As a storm approaches, David rushes to Amy's room upon hearing her screams in the night. Her nightmare and fears for her brother David soothes with sound reasoning and a proposed visit to The West Wing. Milligan and Hecubus drop some speculation about how children are raised before we carry on to Maggie and Barnabas prepping for the coming meeting.Willie Loomis comes in the door to meet Wadsworth and they update each other over the day-into-night errands just before Willie confronts Wadsworth as to why he once told Roger Collins he didn't know Willie when he came to work at The Old House.Footsteps are heard as Dr. Hoffman and Professor Stokes arrive at The Old House. As Willie and Wadsworth welcome them, Barnabas and Maggie approach and the discussion begins over how to handle Chris Jennings in the likely chance he is a werewolf.Jumping over to Morning Glory Circle, we encounter just how Samantha Stephens explains a trip to Maine and the purpose of it to her husband, Darrin. His reaction is not what she expected! As Amy and David explore The West Wing, they happen upon many curious objects, including a very old telephone in which Amy hears the voice of a Collins ghost. Amy and David return to Amy's room to investigate who the ghost was in a book of Family History. David's father, Roger, shows up and after discussing some details about an ancestor, escorts David to his room.

And now, finally, back to the story… (I've been building this podcast since March 2019, so bare with me.) After mention of the dedication we get to what happens during Episode 15 in ‘The Pit of Ultimate Dark Shadows', the annotated version, of course. The hilarious gin-rummy game between Nicholas Blair and Vampire Angelique, continuing on to the scene with Roger Collins, V'Angelique and Lily Munster. Next, Grandmama Addams and Morticia's foray into Victoria Winters' memories of Reverend Trask. Later, we cut from Josette's room to a Willie and Sarah scene to David's surprise and back again as Wadsworth enters, which leads to The Great House, Elizabeth's announcement(s), and Barnabas meeting Lily Munster. (Is Lily's vampire side helping out too cheesy or corny? Late 20th Century: Yes. Early 21st Century: No.)How the Willie and Wadsworth scene reveals why Willie Loomis has been affected by the nurturing touch of Professor Stokes and others. Barnabas, at last, encounters the ghost of Caleb Collins. Why Barnabas IS “So Mr. Darcy” and other “Pride and Prejudice” influences. The importance of Maggie/Josette that Caleb understands, leading us to the ending in which Tom Jennings meets Vampire Angelique that night, and why the song fits. My feelings about Heather O'Rourke and inviting her admirers to reach out and discuss her short time among us.Then we wrap up with one of my lectures about better manners to which many listeners will likely fall asleep.

Here’s one question you didn’t expect to ever ask yourself: can the Pope take a dead Pope to court? The answer is yes, but be ready for another surprising turn, because the reason why the exhumed Pope’s corpse faces trial isn’t as outlandish as you may presume. In this episode of Italian Culture, we investigate the infamous Cadaver Trial, a fine example of how power, violence and subterfuge can taint even the most sacred office. Today’s guests are Matt Barbot and Roger Collins.
Addressing the closet-fans, now that I have a better way of describing the situation. Why one podcast is missing and how to return it. Deleting my tumblr account and the moral support I received from a friend in ever having used it. (Who to thank for my use of Reddit.) My aversion to commercial sites and preference for smaller groups. The unreliability of commercial social media: “They sure know how to get ya'.” Working on Pit 21, as well as watching more Dark Shadows. Finding ideas for the future “saving” of Madame Findley, and all the fun that goes into that. (Roger Collins always brings in hilarious ideas.) Wonderful experiences with pen friends and fancy postage. Enjoying the mundane over the tragedy of “everyone” needing to be a “critic”. How nonsensical the criticism and “need” for it gets. Reasons why I and others weren't affected by any of the non-canon ideas that come from groups of Dark Shadows fans. The hazard of allowing foul behaviour to take-over and what the approval of it leads toward. The highs and lows of pen pal zines and letter-writing: Let us not mix our non-profit hobbies with commercial ventures. It leads to peril and upset. How, in searching for the non-conformists, I kept finding those who went along with the new status-quo. More fun with our friend, Seamus, being a new listener, which helps me a lot. More reasons that the Q & A came into being and works so well. Offering of “Bloody Mary's Delight” for Halloween. (Sorry I couldn't do a reading this year for that.)More invitations for fans of The Pit of Ultimate Dark Shadows, or me, or both, to come out of the closet.
Milligan and Hecubus come to introduce the show with their usual flair but a much different song.As Carolyn Stoddard enters The Great House, her uncle, Roger Collins, presents her with the letter Mrs. Muir has sent which requests Miss Stoddard to visit her in Schooner Bay, while Roger evokes a bizarre dream he once had. After Maggie ascertains what Captain Gregg managed with Endora, via her father's description, she asks about what happened to Mr. Wells at the Inn. Sam is happy to relay that Mr. Wells did not perish and perhaps Chris Jennings is in as much trouble as the both of them suspect. This leaves them wondering what the Witches of Morning Glory Circle are considering for our nemesis, Angelique.Endora “pops in” joining with Samantha to investigate and discuss what should be done about Angelique. They gear up for a most un-pretty sight. As the time of their investigation moves along they feel the need to list the wide variety of bad deeds Angelique provided to the Collins family over many decades. Next they wonder where Angelique happens to be in the present.Through an incantation (that I still can't believe made it past the 1960's censors) Angelique invokes herself to Diablos' Dominion. He's quite pleased to see her. It is Happy Hour In Hell, after all. As they discuss the details between her, a bio-exorcist, and Nicholas Blair over their favourite beverages, they come to an understanding.Diablos shows very little patience with the likes of Nicholas Blair and his incompetence. His punishment is forthcoming. Sir Simon Milligan and Manservant Hecubus are *quite* happy with the results! The deranged antics of The Underworld take their toll on Samantha and Endora. Then they manage to devise a plan for Angelique anyway…As Carolyn Stoddard approaches Gull Cottage, Captain Gregg manages a little tease and she is welcomed warmly by the housekeeper, Martha. Mrs. Carolyn Muir descends the stairs and gives her friend, Carolyn Stoddard, a play-by-play in the parlour of Elizabeth Stoddard's visit to her and the implications for all involved, which includes the bestowing of further expectations to Collinwood's current upkeep. Next is a wee respite of Lily giving Liz the “indication” to meet with Bill Malloy's ghost on deck.Elizabeth meets with Bill to find they both were more fond of one each other than any might suppose, including one another, even as Bill expresses how much he now knows of Elizabeth's past and Victoria's place in that.As Carolyn Stoddard returns to Collinwood, she approaches a distraction in the woods. After this terrifying experience, Carolyn discovers a little girl, Amy Jennings, and invites her to come along to The Great House.
It's the premiere of Season 2 of Sweet Valley Diaries! Let's celebrate by shipping Jessica to New York and getting beloved teacher Roger Collins fired for unspecified sex crimes! Don't panic, everyone. Marissa and her guests, William J. Stribling and Sinead Persaud (of Shipwrecked Comedy!) are here to hold your hand until this nightmare blows over. Welcome back to Sweet Valley.
Milligan and Hecubus do a quick introduction as it is well known the audience is awaiting the big show down between Beetlejuice and V'Angelique.Quick maneuvering on BJ's part whisks V'Angelique into the Collinwood drawing room and all Hell proceeds to slowly unfold in a variety of ways, while Barnabas and Maggie consult with each other, observing the alarming results from the other side of the door; young David Collins' horror, and Roger Collins' mere annoyance as he strolls passed them with certain responsibilities on his mind. (Probably not a good scene to listen to on a full-stomach.)After the finishing touches are dealt with to this bargain of handling V'Angelique between Barnabas and our Ghost With The Most, Lily and Elizabeth arrive to pick up their cruise tickets and say their farewells, as well as a few oddities in conversation over nearby noises in the woods.Mrs. Johnson enters for a cameo as Carolyn Stoddard assesses the reason her mother is going on this trip to England.Later on Maggie and Sam, asserting their previous lives in the du Pres family, discuss their concerns and what has taken place in The Great House of Collinwood, as well as wanting to come into further contact with The Ghost of Captain Daniel Gregg. As Willie Loomis and Wadsworth become further reacquainted, we see what they have to catch up on and their welcoming to the beloved presence in the visiting ghost of Sarah Collins.Meanwhile we can enjoy another drive with Carolyn Stoddard and Tony Peterson. As usual their date is interrupted by some small town turbulence. But this time, it leads them into a quiet lay-by to pursue more romantic entanglements. Doctor Hoffman sees this from afar, and settles back into her chair to enjoy a dinner date with Professor T. Eliot Stokes. Much casual discussion in the supernatural is enjoyed, leading from vampires to werewolves, enlivened by their blooming romance. On the RMS Queen Elizabeth, after a length introduction of it by our hosts Milligan and Hecubus, we see how our cousins Elizabeth and Lily enjoy their time on board ship. As they engage in the fun of a ballroom the ghost of Bill Malloy enters the picture.
With his wily and unforgettable original songs and his hipster, street-smart vocals, no one on the blues scene writes or sings like harmonica ace Rick Estrin. No one looks like him either, as Estrin is always dressed to the nines, sporting his trademark pencil-line mustache and pompadour haircut. The San Francisco native cut his teeth as a teen with ZZ Hill, Fillmore Slim, Travis Phillips and Roger Collins before finding a place with the legendary west coast hallmark band, Little Charlie in the Night Cats during the 70’s. Rick became the band leader when Charlie departed in 2008 and released his fourth studio effort for Chicago’s famed Alligator records, “Groovin’ in Greaseland” which features 13 new tracks recorded in the home studio of bandmate wonder kid, Kid Anderson who is a rising blues star in his own right. Rick is self-described as ‘peculiar’ and has won several awards for his extraordinary harmonica talent.
Our hosts brief us with what is left out of this Re-write, as Victoria Winters returns from 1795 in the NECK of time. Much unfortunate delving into 18th century lack of restrooms, as well as a strange effect the Collinsport coffee seems to have on the Evans abode. Dr. Hoffman deals and receives many wise-cracks, as well as helping out Carolyn.Meanwhile, even as Wadsworth encourages this risky relationship with the post-kidnapped Maggie, he also takes a moment to confront Barnabas as to his past transgressions over his victims, such as Willie Loomis, making significant comparisons to help him see even practical reasons not to take such abusive action towards people.Still, Cassandra has a unique way of shooting her cupids arrow at Roger Collins, as he angrily answers the phone in the dead of night.Enjoyment and laughter always welcome in the comment box.
