For 20+ years, Megan Ann Rasmussen has served as an Award-Winning Producer, Director, and Educator, impacting multigenerational audiences. As President of MAR Productions, she is committed to creating theatre that uplifts and strengthens each of us, building engaged communities. As a Producer she brought FREE PLAY: Open Source Scripts Towards an Antiracist Tomorrow to The TheaterMakers Studio's Reading Series. Additionally, Megan Ann is developing Heaven Come Home by award-winning TheaterMakers Studio Member Justin Payne, features the moving “One More Day,” a musical number where families and their deceased loved ones yearn for one more day to be together. Composer and lyricist Justin Payne says of Megan Ann's contributions to the production, “To have Megan Ann produce this show has been monumental!” Megan Ann is Co-Producer of Joy: The Musical, a new Broadway show with Tony award-winning producer, Ken Davenport. She is also involved with A Beautiful Noise; The Neil Diamond Musical, The Griswold's Broadway Vacation, Kinky Boots (Off Broadway), and is Lead Producer for Spells of the Sea (Regional.) Her passion for producing began at an early age as she sat glued to the television watching Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music. She was enthralled with the singing, choreography and the magic of what music and theater could be. As the bossy oldest child of 8, she took charge and produced elaborate set designs with cardboard boxes and index cards, and costumes she could find in the cast-off dress-ups. The seeds of a panache for producing were planted. Colleagues consider her “... in a class of her own,” and “a true find.” They've also said that “...whatever she does, she does it with heart and moxy,” as she “...blazes the artistic trail.” Quote #1 James I really believe that theater is best enjoyed with a young person on one side and a grandparent on the other Yeah, this intergenerational experience is something that as families, we don't get enough of it, when you talk about the show before we go to the show, the anticipation of what it's going to be like, and then sometimes I'm talking in the show, like, did you see that? Quote #2 We've had some great strategic partners. Um, I have a great co producer and Dr. Megan Alritz from the University of Texas at Austin. She helped orchestrate, there's no one path James, for how to get a show to Broadway, right? But, each path I think is interesting and pertinent or key to this project. So we did a development workshop called at Pegasus Play Lab, the University of Central Florida. Cool, right? UCF. Great people there. Julia, and we got it on its feet. And then, like, maybe like song writing, I don't know. I'd love to hear your experience. But after we got it on its feet, we did, we went back to do the rewrites. Quote #3 I love the people. I love the work, but I think we all owe it to our psyche and our creativity. To make sure we have time to refill that. Yeah. I actually just did a podcast on this about.......I call it the critical in between, which is this time between big developmental steps. The time where you have to check in and say, how's the show? How are my fellow humans? But also how am I, and you can't pull from a well that's not full. So there's a couple of things that I do. I. Um, I like to read, I'm a big, um, personal improvement junkie, um, I, there's a lots of folks that I like to listen to that fill my head, right? Let's, maybe if we went through the chakras, right, like it fills my head, right? We go into our archive to feature our 2005 interview with Neil Diamond. The new Broadway show A Beautiful Noise is based on his life and features his songs. Some of his most famous songs include Sweet Caroline, Solitary Man, and Girl, You'll be A Woman Soon. We'll also remember two-time Oscar-winner Glenda Jackson, who died June 15th. She was 87. Terry Gross spoke with her in 2019 when she was starring on Broadway in a production of King Lear, as Lear. Jackson also served in British Parliament for over two decades.
Bob Gaudio was inducted into the Songwriters, Rock and Roll, and the New Jersey Hall of Fame. He produced a number of songs for Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Roberta Flack & others. He is now the co-Lead producer of the sensational Neil Diamond Broadway musical A Beautiful Noise. In this exclusive interview, Bob discusses: -How his upbringing led him down his musical path -How his immersion in music and confidence from an early age helped his meteoric level of success starting in his teens -The main secret behind his success that is also the secret behind all success -What about his career he is most proud of and why? -How the original band The Four Lovers evolved into the Four Seasons in 1960 -How the evolution occurred where he ended up becoming The Producer of The Four Seasons -Bob's favorite songs -What inspired the song Cheri? -Was Can't Take My Eyes Off of You inspired by anyone? -How he feels about the streaming business today in a contemporary world -Of all of the acts he worked with outside of The Four Seasons, which one intrigued him most. -How it was like producing the Neil Diamond / Barbra Streisand duet You Don't Bring Me Flowers and the Neil Diamond Album of the same name -His role as co-lead producer of the Neil Diamond Broadway musical A Beautiful Noise. -What Bob expects audiences to feel during the musical and how he wants audiences to feel after they leave the show -What about the show he is most proud of? -What he thinks makes Neil Diamond & his music able to transcend the usual fading plateau of success & instead be as strong as ever in now a remarkable 7 decades of musical success where his classic songs like Sweet Caroline still resonates today & even where Gen Z can sing the lyrics of. -What would Bob Gaudio want to be most remembered for considering his breath of work and life has had so many highpoints?

Two great friends who love musical theatre converse about "Shucked," "New York, New York," "Kimberly Akimbo," "A Beautiful Noise," and "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child."
New Zealand born Anthony McCarten is arguably the world's best known biopic screenwriter and playwright Past subjects have included Whitney Houston, Edison, Churchill and the band Queen, and this year alone he's had two Broadway productions - the still running Neil Diamond musical A Beautiful Noise and The Collaboration, a play about Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
Dylan and Connor are joined once again by Tony Award nominee Robyn Hurder (A Beautiful Noise, Moulin Rouge). For the second time in Drama history, the boys welcome a guest back for another full-length episode. Queen Robyn Hurder re-joins the party to catch the guys up on what she's been up to since December 2020. Dramaaaa. Hear all about what it was like to return to Moulin Rouge in a COVID era (and without a key player). Robyn details her journey back to the stage, why she left Nini and company behind, and divulges the honest truth of her story. This laugh-filled chat also covers Love Is Blind, Bachelor Nation, being on Broadway at the same time as her hubby Clyde Alves, raising a 9-year old, and theatre ghosts and spirits. Sutton Foster, PBS Great Performances Broadway, and Robyn's current starring turn in A Beautiful Noise are just a few of the topics we get into. You won't want to miss this warm, heartfelt, and hilarious reunion with Robyn Hurder and the Drama boys.Follow Robyn on InstagramFollow DRAMA. on Twitter & Instagram & TiktokFollow Connor MacDowell on Twitter & InstagramFollow Dylan MacDowell on Twitter & InstagramEdited by Dylan

The playlist is personal for the team distilling the life of and legacy of Neil Diamond in the new Broadway musical "A Beautiful Noise." Without Diamond, we would not have "Sweet Caroline" and The Monkees wouldn't have had number-one hits like "I'm a Believer." Jared Bowen of GBH Boston got an early look at the show for our arts and culture series, "CANVAS." PBS NewsHour is supported by - https://www.pbs.org/newshour/about/funders
