Retailers are raising the bar when it comes to liability coverage, and the process of securing the right insurance is becoming more complicated than ever. Not only are brands facing higher coverage limits, but the third-party companies verifying Certificates of Insurance don't always understand how coverage works—leading to unnecessary denials and costly delays. To help us make sense of this evolving landscape, I'm joined by Russ Taylor from SecureCPG, an insurance company specializing in coverage for consumer packaged goods brands. We'll unpack what's happening behind the scenes, how you can ensure compliance with retailer requirements, and what you need to know to avoid costly pitfalls.Startup to Scale is a podcast by Foodbevy, an online community to connect emerging food, beverage, and CPG founders to great resources and partners to grow their business. Imagine you finally get to a point as a beverage company where you can upgrade to your first printed cans. You had to secure a new contract with a can company and co-packer to make it happen. Everything is all set for your production run, and the co-packer starts running your product through the line. But then, disaster strikes. All 10,000 cans come out of the tunnel pasteurizer with labels peeling off. All that product is unsellable, and effectively lost. The copacker blames the can company, and the can company says the facility wasn't approved. You're caught in a frustrating "he said, she said" scenario, with no one taking responsibility. To make matters even worst, your business insurance isn't setup to cover this type of product loss. This is exactly what happened to Sara Delaney, founder of Sarilla.Join me as I talk with Sara along with Russ Taylor, from SecureCPG to learn how this happened and how proper insurance can help you prevent issues like this from happening to your company.Learn More About Sarilla: https://www.drinksarilla.com/Learn More About SecureCPG: https://securecpg.com/Startup to Scale is a podcast by Foodbevy, an online community to connect emerging food, beverage, and CPG founders to great resources and partners to grow their business. ROI’s Into the Corner Office Podcast: Powerhouse Middle Market CEOs Telling it Real—Unexpected Career Conversations

Russ Taylor is a dynamic businessman, a leader in the tech space, and a born entrepreneur. As CEO, President and Founder of Fusion of Ideas, Taylor is steward of the only American mobile integration company of its kind offering end-to-end mobile device branding experiences, in-house app development as well as mobile integration programs & consulting for some of the largest brand names in the world. Founded in 2003, Fusion of Ideas has a rich history of disrupting the mobile device market, first with never-before-seen carbon fiber accessories featured in nationally acclaimed outlets such as Wired Magazine and Gizmodo. In 2010, a few years after the launch of the first iPhone, Taylor’s custom solution for a blocked antenna issue on the iPhone 4 was the buzz around town, most notably recommended by America’s favorite technology guru himself, David Pogue of The New York Times (now a tech correspondent on CBS News Sunday Morning). As smart personal electronic devices increased in popularity, Taylor followed his keen entrepreneurial instinct and expanded his services to include mobile integration and customization in the B2B market. This opened the door for Fusion to work with businesses of all sizes, leading to exponential growth in a short span of time. In 2014, Fusion of Ideas closed its retail space and moved to an office in Lake Forest, California, where it now focuses solely on servicing clients in the B2B market. Taylor is a graduate of Brigham Young University, where he studied advertising and marketing. In his spare time, Taylor finds great satisfaction in racing his Z28 Camaro in the Super Touring Series of the National Auto Sport Association. Outside of the track, he enjoys leading a troop of Boy Scouts, traveling, and spending quality time with his family. Taylor resides in Ladera Ranch, Calif. with his wife Debbie and their two young children.
