NY EPISODE UDE NU: HENRIK IRGENS ELSKER THE BEATLES! Find mere om Henrik Irgens her: https://henrik.co.uk https://linktr.ee/henrikirgens

A fantastic episode of BEHIND THE LENS that's jam-packed with two talented filmmakers, MICHAEL OBLOWITZ and BENJAMIN POLLACK – both who have a music video background – and actor JON LINDSTROM who many of the "General Hospital" fans out there will recognize, as we talk about CONFIDENTIAL INFORMANT and WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO JONNY FAITH. Right out of the gate, writer/director MICHAEL OBLOWITZ and actor JON LINDSTROM join us discussing their new film CONFIDENTIAL INFORMANT. A well-paced slow-burn noir police thriller with a twist, CONFIDENTIAL INFORMANT boasts an exceptional cast (along with Lindstrom, there's Mel Gibson, Nick Stahl, Dominic Purcell, and Kate Bosworth) and an interesting story POV that we rarely, if ever, see onscreen. We get into all the ins and outs of the "making of" CONFIDENTIAL INFORMANT including Michael's A-list cast, crafting and conveying authenticity and reality, the very specific color palette and production design and how that plays into the work of cinematographer Chris Squires, performances, and more, while Jon has some great insight for us on working with Michael, selecting projects, his approach to acting, informing his character, and, of course, what's up on "General Hospital"! Then it's a big welcome for writer/director/editor BENJAMIN POLLACK who also joins us live talking about his new dramatic short narrative film WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO JONNY FAITH. A "Must See" Festival Film at the upcoming LA Shorts Fest (the film screens July 20th), this one has got all the feels, plus a terrific cast, beautiful lensing, and strong production values.Energetic and passionate, Benjamin shares all about "the making of" as he discusses the genesis of the film, transitioning from music videos and documentary short films to a narrative film, the benefit of directing and editing (especially with a short film), bringing together a dynamite cast with musician/actor Frank Noon in the title role, Bruce Greenwood, Wayne Knight, Debbie Pollack, and a "cameo" appearance by famed guitarist Rusty Anderson. http://eliasentertainmentnetwork.com

Paul Salley (author of the forthcoming book on Jimmy McCulloch) joins the show this week and next as we go through the 1974 McCartney and Wings film "One Hand Clapping". The film has been legitimately available for over a decade, but is still less well-known than the Bruce McMouse project!
The recording artist and producer has been in hand-to-hand combat in the musical trenches since the Paisley Underground days of Green On Red. Since then Chuck's solo career has included over a dozen releases as well as collaborations with Alejandro Escovedo, Tony Visconti, Jim Dickinson, and Kelly Willis, among others. With a terrific new record, “The Land That Time Forgot,” slated for an August release, he peers into the abyss of the unknown unknown and studies the tea leaves for signs of life. Jeff and Lee interview video director extraordinaire, Rusty Anderson. Rusty is the video director behind Passion Conferences, Chris Tomlin, any MANY others. He gave some very practical advice about cinematic video in live settings. Also you'll hear how cinema cameras are invading broadcast environments and how we can all get ahead of the curve. Check this episode out as you navigate this new landscape of the digital Church.
Todd talks with Rusty Anderson from Passion City Church about live video and making sure that it is not distracting but instead invites people into an experience with God, rather than a show.
It’s a well worn music industry cliche - a kid sees The Beatles' debut American performance on the Ed Sullivan show on February 9th, 1964 and right then and there, they decide that rock and roll is what they want to do with their life. People from all corners of the music business were influenced by Beatlemania, and it shaped the future of the industry. But one 5 year old boy heard the music of The Beatles and grew up to become a masterful vagabond of the guitar, playing on many hit records and thousand of gigs, until 40 years later, incredibly, he found himself standing beside Paul McCartney - as a bandmate. Our special guest for this episode is that kid, all grown up - Rusty Anderson, lead guitarist for Paul McCartney. He’s got a brilliant new album out with his band Rusty Anderson Afternoon called "RAA" and we chat about how the record came together. He talks about making and marketing his own records, working with the legendary McCartney, his experiences playing in the band Ednaswap and on hit records by a long list of major artists. But Rusty also shares his thoughts on the state of the music industry. We hear a lot from record labels and technology companies about how things should work, about what is and isn’t fair about the music business. But we don’t hear often enough from the actual creators who give life to music, and how the changes are impacting them. We’re going to try to get more artists into the mix on these issues on the podcast. We’re honored to have Rusty Anderson as our first guest artist on "How To Fix The Music Business”. Rusty talks about his signature guitar, involuntary recall, emotional leashes & much more!
Rusty Anderson has played guitar on more hit records than I've had cold scotches, with everyone from The Bangles to Ricky Martin. He's probably best known for his over a dozen years as the lead guitarist on the road and in the studio for Sir Paul McCartney, since the Driving Rain album. He's somehow found the time to have an impressive solo career and form several bands, with his current outfit 'Rusty Anderson Afternoon' recently dropping their great new album 'RAA'. Rusty and I talk about Frank Zappa's 'Hot Rats' - why is it the Zappa album even non-Zappa fans love? What is Captain Beefheart's memorable cameo? How was the album at the forefront of musical innovation in the studio? Where does the music cross into jazz territory? Plus, Rusty talks about a missed connection with Mick Ronson, outlasting the Beatles, finding ways to innovate in rock'n'roll almost 50 years after Zappa and how Paul McCartney embarrassed him in front of one of his guitar idols - Black Sabbath's Tony Iomi.
July 4 show! We take this opportunity to look back at Paul McCartney's involvement in the Concert for New York City and the documentary recording the preparations for the show. Central to the events was the new song he wrote, the short and long-term perceptions of the tune, and why some people felt overstayed it's welcome. We are talking about "Freedom", everybody.
We celebrate Paul's 74th birthday (+ a day or two) by continuing our look at the One on One tour. This latest round has taken McCartney and his crew to Argentina, Germany, France, Spain, the Czech Republic and the Pinkpop festival in the Netherlands. Even on evenings when "the voice" isn't in top shape, he is still the reason everyone is coming to the show, and the result is fully entertaining. The best description came from one reviewer, who called the show "an Instagram filter for three hours of your life."
Paul McCartney returns to the road, both in the United States, Europe and elsewhere. We take a look at the "One on One Tour" from the inside out. This week we consider the soundcheck experience, the material Sir Macca chooses to play each day, the vegetarian dinner, and the wonder known as Shelley Lazar.
You remember that time when you were a kid, and you found this weird looking caterpillar thing, and you thought "I wonder what this turns into?" So you scooped it up and put it in a jar with holes in the top, and watched it spin a cocoon, and waited patiently while it pupated. Then one day you come in the room and see that the cocoon has split open, but there's no sign of any kind of bug in the jar, so you turn around to look and see how it possibly could have gotten out and to where, and then an 8 foot tall nightmare springs at you, spearing you through your organs with four chitinous forelimbs while it's mandibles slice your skull apart and its inner mouthpieces eagerly shred the juicy brain inside?Well, that's pretty much what happens when Rusty Anderson puts down his acoustic guitar and sets aside his canon of bewildering folk tunes, shedding his "Top Grossing Films of 1984" moniker to unleash the raw animal ferocity of his long-slumbering "Monster Sized Monster" project, which podcast bro Night Grinder has repeatedly and emphatically called "the harshest act in St. Louis". There's some other acts we could name that would give him a run for his money, but it would be BLOODY sorting out that bracket, and onlookers likely would be permanently scarred. You've been warned. Beware of monster. He hungry.
NWP welcomes lead guitarist to Sir Paul McCartney, Rusty Anderson! I talk with Rusty just days before he heads to Japan with Paul McCartney on their world tour. In 2001, Anderson, got a call from producers Mo Jackson and David Kahne to play and sing on Sir Paul McCartney's record Driving Rain; this became the birth of the Paul McCartney Band. After finishing the record and performing at The Concert for New York City, the band went on the road for a critically acclaimed tour, playing well over 100 shows in the US, Japan, Mexico and Europe, including those at the Roman Colosseum, Live 8 UK and Red Square in Moscow. Following the success of this tour four DVDs were released, all featuring Anderson on guitar: Back in the U.S., Back in the World, Paul McCartney in Red Square and The Space Within US. In addition to the studio album Driving Rain, Anderson would go on to play guitar on McCartney's Chaos and Creation in the Backyard and, in addition to guitar work, would also contribute vocals to the 2007 release, Memory Almost Full.[1] He also took part in Good Evening New York City and Good Evening Europe. http://rustyanderson.bandcamp.com www.rustyanderson.com www.northwestprime.com In addition to playing live shows to promote his own record, Rusty Anderson continued to play guitar with a host of other artists, including Gwen Stefani, Steven Tyler, Richie Sambora, Regina Spektor, Dido, Cat Stevens, Miley Cyrus, Eros Ramazzotti, Nelly Furtado, Meat Loaf, Robi Draco Rosa and Lisa Marie Presley. In addition to Anderson's solo songwriting career, he has written with and produced acts such as Chris Shaffer of The Why Store, Jordan Lawhead and Emma Burgess, resulting in song uses in TV shows Cold Case, Men In Trees, Kyle XY and Wildfire.
