Are you afraid to let go of your anxiety? Do you see your stress level as a driver of your everyday decisions and activities? If that sounds familiar, you will be able to relate to Alan Fadling, who is the president and founder of Unhurried Living. He shares how acutely he was clinging to his anxiety as an engine to complete every task at hand. “I was afraid if I didn't have my anxiety, I wouldn't get anything done,” he says. But anxiety, he explains, is an unsustainable energy force. We are much better off embracing the Prince of Peace - Jesus - in our moments of fear and stress than relying on our own anxious physical responses to move us forward. Don't let anxiety become the god of your life. Trust Jesus and let Him reign peacefully over your heart instead. TAKEAWAYS Jesus does not have an anxious or a frantic voice, nor did He make rash frantic decisions Pray about the things that give you anxiety and ask God to give you clear direction In peace, you have access to your fully functioning brain rather than one that is addled with worry and over-stimulation Instead of living life constantly doing things to prove your identity, know your identity in Christ and express it freely with no pressure

“Everything started because somebody started it. Somebody felt that need...Of course we can't conquer the world—we're not capable. But we can all do our part and contribute." Growing up in India, Pallavi Pande spent her childhood eating her meals off of banana leaves—a memory she cherished so much that she wanted to share it with her children…and the rest of the world. Today, Pallavi is the BIPOC mamapreneur and founder of Dtocs, a company that crafts sustainable single use tableware from fallen palm leaves. Recognizing the environmental impact of traditional disposable tableware, Pallavi drew from her Indian heritage and established Dtocs in 2019 to offer a greener alternative for both households and events. Beyond her innovative products, Pallavi is deeply committed to social causes, leveraging Dtocs to support community upliftment, women's empowerment, and education for underserved children. Dtocs stands in a testament to Pilates dedication, not only to offering a sustainable dining alternative, but also to making a meaningful impact on society, one palm leaf plate at a time. EP:107 On this week's episode of Thrive Like a Parent Podcast we are going to talk about the importance of setting boundaries and enforcing natural consequences for children without resorting to anger or resentment.    We must set consistent, firm boundaries and natural consequences, such as chores or writing lines, to teach our children respect and responsibility.    You get to decide what behaviors are and aren't acceptable in your home, and enforce boundaries for unacceptable behaviors. You must claim the driver's seat in your home.    I encourage you to parent the child in front of you, not the child you fear they will become. Don't let fear hold you back.    If you hold boundaries, if you give them natural consequences, what they are going to do is actually build a stronger relationship, trusting dynamic with you, a greater bond of respect with you. And I guarantee you, they will be happier humans, because you've made a very structured life, and they know what's expected of them. And we're going to continue down that path.   We are their teacher, and it is okay to teach. You got this.    XOXO, Dr. B   #thrivelikeaparentpodcast #podcast #newepisode #parenting #adulthood #sensoryregulation

Join Karaleigh in an interview with the beautiful Becca Ingersol. In this episode we talk about moving through trials, believing in our own worthiness, and how important it is to take time for ourselves. Becca is a wife, mom of twin boys with special needs, and survivor of many hard knocks of life. She also happens to be a writer, blogger, and podcaster. She is passionate about helping other women—especially moms and especially moms of kids with special needs—know that they are not alone. She enjoys sharing stories (her own as well as others') of resilience. Her podcast is called Finding Joy through Life's Trials, and it can be found on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Favorite takeaways: 1. Any trial that you go through has the potential to make you so much more empathetic. 2. It's all about looking at the roses in life instead of the thorns. 3. It's so amazing how many times we have to hear that we're worth it before we're willing to start believing it. We can never hear it enough times. 4. Now is the time to live your life. Now is the time to be your whole self, to be fully lit up, to be your most amazing sunshiny- star- filled- most rockin self. Now is the time to be fully you. 5. Memories over money. Experience things that make you happy! 6. Take time for yourself. It is not selfish. You need to fill your own cup so you can pour into others. It's very important to take time to do things that you love so that you can be more likely to love life, because that's the whole purpose. 7. So many more people are watching and are listening than you realize. There's a lot of silent watchers. There are people who are watching you take your journey who are not sure that they're worthy to act yet that need to be told another 100 times that they are worthy to even talk to you, because they don't think that they're worthy yet. They're there, they just don't see it in themselves yet and they need that encouragement more from you, not less. They need you to believe in yourself even more so that they can know that they're worth rising to be even in your world. They need you to have that confidence in yourself. So don't give up, keep going, because you are making an impact. Your energy, your light- it is being seen. From the first beat of our hearts to our final moments of connection, love weaves its way through every aspect of our lives, guiding and enriching us. This life force goes beyond our conventional understanding of romance. Love is also the bonds we share with our friends, the support and care we receive from our families, and the self-love and compassion we cultivate within ourselves. As natural as it can be, love is complex. Developing our capacity to both give and receive it is an achievement in its own right; and it's another challenge to sustain meaningful relationships. Most often, these questions are the very reason we come to therapy.Enrico Gnaulati knows this to be true. As a highly experienced clinical psychologist and author with over three decades of expertise working with children, adults, and couples, he has studied the balance of patience, understanding, and compromise required to maintain deep connections. On this episode of The Art of Listening, Enrico uncovers the common thread that unifies successful and enduring relationships: the art of deep listening. Drawing inspiration from his own marital experiences and dedicated work with couples, Enrico imparts the wisdom of his latest book, ‘Flourishing Love: A Secular Guide to Lasting Intimate Relationships'. He explores how the pillars of listening, attention, and communication form intimate and lasting connection. He also shares his latest interests in therapeutic practice; his enduring labour of love.  Together, we delve into the fundamental questions of what healthy love truly looks like, and the profound growth that comes from embracing vulnerability.Chapters1 - Enrico's upbringing and trajectory to psychotherapy, from children's to couples' work (4:24)2 - The intricate and complex dynamic therapists face within couples therapy (11:30)3 - The power of "virtues", and essential qualities to long-lasting, successful relationships (18:04)4 - The value of attention in relationships, and how to be a deep listener (25:48)5 - Enrico's view on the importance of relationships and human connection (29:23)LinksEnrico GnaulatiEnrico's Book ‘Flourishing Love: A Secular Guide to Lasting Intimate Relationships'Enrico's Book ‘Saving Talk Therapy'Eileen DunnMore from ‘The Art of Listening'
