Welcome to the latest episode of the Celebrate Muliebrity podcast! In today's episode I have the pleasure of chatting with Surabhi Veitch, an amazing physiotherapist from Toronto (Before I tell you what we talked about - please note I had an equipment malfunction about 18 minutes in - it gets scratchy just on my end for approx 60 seconds then settles down - if it was just a solo episode I would have redone it but Surabhi gave so many clinical pearls I had to share this! we talked about: how we need to bring a different perspective and depth when we are communicating with people who have pelvic pain, especially sexual pain the importance of meeting people where they are on THEIR pelvic/ sexual health journey and not just super impose OUR way of doing things defining 'successful' sex and exploring beliefs, fears and knowledge, interrupting feelings of shame and moving to self trust and confidence having the pleasure conversation, as well as building confidence and pleasure in movement, food and sexual health and so much more! Surabhi shared so much of her own journey which is why she is an amazing communicator and clinician - if you're not already, please follow her on instagram as @thepassionatephysio Want to learn more about sexual health? There's a whole section on sexual health at menopause in my online Female Hormonal Health Masterclass but also...in November, I'll be releasing my new online course, Female Sexual Health, Contraception & Fertility (it is on pre-sale now and goes to regular pricing when it goes live in November - here's the link where you can find info on all my online courses! Until next time, take care and don't forget to #celebratemuliebrity Mx

Thankfully pelvic health is something that has really increased in awareness over the last five years but we still have a long way to go. So many women are needlessly suffering. We are so lucky to have pelvic floor physiotherapist Surabhi Veitch on the show today to share her knowledge on this issue.Surabhi's areas of expertise include pelvic floor pain, incontinence, diastasis recti and prolapse. If you are pregnant or have ever had a baby, then this episode is going to be a great one for you! Surabhi is a mom of two littles herself so she's been there, both personally and professionally. We discuss how women can look “better” postpartum but there are often unseen issues going on. Some of the most common include pain, prolapse, urinary leakage, constipation, scared to have sex, and diastasis recti. Surabhi shares what can be done to help pelvic floor issues and why tight pelvic floor muscles are often causing more of your issues than the weak or loose muscles. If you've seen a physiotherapist before but aren't seeing the results you want, we want you to not get defeated. There are other options out there. Surabhi explains what else can be done and shares how virtual care might be an even better option for you than in-person care!Follow Surabhi on Instagramwww.thepassionatephysio.caListen to the Mom Strength PodcastSponsor: Eco Chic Movement - Enter code ‘PODCAST' at checkout for 25% off your first purchase.Links & Resources:Follow Eco Chic Movement on Instagramwww.ecochicmovement.com

My guest today is physiotherapist and post partum expert Surabhi Veitch.I'm so grateful to have Surabhi here to share so much knowledge and support for woman in all stages of postpartum life. As someone who really struggled after having a baby, the conversation we have today is invaluable. We break down some of the huge misconceptions around how someone's body looks vs. how they feel, why strength training is way more important than Kegels and why we need to create more long term post partum support for moms. There's so much pressure for moms to “bounce” back and lose weight after a baby and we discuss how harmful this is to the recovery process and why it needs to be about moving forward not “bouncing back.”Our conversation is about much more than post partum-my son is 10 years old and I really resonated with what Surabhi shared in terms of approachable, sustainable fitness, thinking long term instead of short term and cultivating a more positive body image as a mom.Connect with SurabhiInstagramWebsiteConnect with JordanaFind me on InstagramSign up for my Monday newsletter with lots of nutrition, exercise and mindset tipsLearn more about 1:1 coaching on my website
