While Sex in Hollywood movies goes in and out of style, we seem to be in an upswing moment with Academy Award wins for nudity-containing films like Anora and The Substance. Jason personally has some scenes, mostly for comedic purposes but even then, performing it is complicated and often very, very uncomfortable. The #metoo movement brought increased scrutiny to on-screen contact, and with that a relatively new position called an Intimacy Coordinator was born. Coordinators have recently become more common on set but… what does that person do? What qualifications does one have to have to be one… and does it really give performers a feeling of safety, security and control? To answer that question, we brough on one of the industry’s pioneers in the field. Yehuda Duenyas is a SAG-AFTRA accredited Intimacy Coordinator who provides full-service Intimacy Coordination for film, TV, and theater productions. Yehuda’s work and collaborations have received a Primetime Emmy award, 2 Webby awards, 8 Cannes Lions, 11 Clios, 2 Facebook awards, an OBIE award, among others. *** IN THIS EPISODE: Yehuda describes how and why he became an intimacy coordinator. What does a SAG-AFTRA certified intimacy coordinator actually do? The Blake Lively / Justin Baldoni lawsuit exposes potential on-set dangers. Many actors like Michael Douglas, Jennifer Aniston have questioned intimacy coordination. What happens when an actor changes their mind? That time an actress asked Jason to help her during a dramatic sex scene. Jason’s Game: Have they gone nude… or not? I'm chatting with remarkable human, Integrative Sexologist, and my dear friend, Vanessa Muradian. Vanessa thinks and feels wide and deep and we cover a bit in this episode, from experiencing grief during the ovulation phase to cultivating intimacy with and without sex, to the most common reasons people come to see Vanessa as a Sexologist, to my perception of Vanessa as someone with big feelings and why that seems ironic to them.Grab a cuppa for this one and enjoy. xxVanessa (she/they) is a sexologist, yoga teacher, speaker, community facilitator and pleasure activist of Armenian and Anglo-Australian descent living, loving and working on the unceded lands of the Kulin nation. Their work is grounded in the belief that the pursuit of pleasure is an act of resistance and a liberatory practice. At the heart of Vanessa's work is a question. They ask: how can we more fully access the abundance of pleasure that is possible in our bodies, in our lives? Why do people tend to feel responsible for their abuse? How is shame and guilt experienced in the context of sexual trauma and in our biblical perspectives? What are some practical steps for survivors of sexual trauma?
We are members of Christ's body, and this belonging informs the way we should love within a marriage. Our commitment to each other in marriage is a covenant, a mutual giving of oneself for the sake of the other. This covenantal love requires vulnerability, sacrifice, and intimacy. But how do we live this out well in a hyper-sexualized world? In this episode, Whit, Casey and, Angela break down Paul's letter in 1 Corinthians, how we can move through sexual brokenness and dysfunction, and how we can address these topics in our relationships and in our church community. This episode is a must-listen for anyone navigating the complexities of anxiety, trauma & intimacy, offering valuable insights and practical advice on building healthier, more honest connections. More info, resources & ways to connect - https://www.tacosfallapart.com/podcast-live-show/podcast-guests/allison-guilbault In this episode of Even Tacos Fall Apart, MommaFoxFire had an enlightening conversation with Allison Guilbault, a licensed mental health professional, on the intricate topics of anxiety, trauma, sex & intimacy. Allison shared her expertise, offering valuable insights into how these elements intertwine and impact our lives. Allison began by distinguishing between stress and anxiety, clarifying that anxiety often stems from perceived rather than real threats. This differentiation is crucial as it helps individuals understand why they might react intensely to situations that aren't necessarily dangerous. She explained that our bodies often respond to these perceived threats as if they were real, triggering physical and emotional reactions similar to those caused by actual stressors. This response can be overwhelming and debilitating, making it important for individuals to recognize when their anxiety requires professional support. She further elaborated on the impact of trauma, describing it as an experience that can significantly disrupt one's life. Trauma can affect various aspects, including sleep, health and relationships. Allison emphasized that anyone who has gone through a traumatic experience should seek support, whether through therapy, support groups or other resources, to process their emotions and start healing. Her insights underline the importance of acknowledging and addressing trauma rather than ignoring or minimizing its effects. The conversation also explored the sensitive topic of how trauma and anxiety can affect sex and intimacy. Allison spoke candidly about the challenges faced by individuals who have experienced sexual trauma or religious trauma. These experiences can create barriers to sexual connection and intimacy, making it difficult for individuals to feel comfortable and safe with their partners. She stressed the importance of open communication in relationships, particularly regarding sexual preferences and desires. Many people struggle to articulate their needs and boundaries, which can lead to misunderstandings and dissatisfaction in their intimate relationships. Allison encouraged listeners to practice expressing their feelings and desires, which can foster a deeper understanding and connection with their partners. A key point in the discussion was the mind-body connection in relation to anxiety. Allison highlighted how anxiety often manifests physically, with symptoms like tension in the neck and shoulders, stomach discomfort or a general sense of unease. Recognizing these physical symptoms can be an important step in managing anxiety, as it helps individuals become more aware of how their mental state is affecting their body. This awareness can lead to more effective coping strategies and a better overall understanding of one's mental health. The conversation with Allison Guilbault was both enlightening and empowering, shedding light on the complexities of anxiety, trauma, sex and intimacy. Her expertise provided a nuanced perspective on these topics, offering practical advice and encouragement for those struggling with similar issues. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, processing trauma or navigating intimate relationships, Allison's insights offer a path toward understanding and healing. This episode provides listeners with the hope, strength and empowerment they need to navigate their own mental health journeys. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mommafoxfire/support

In this episode, Jay and I sat down to talk openly about what sex and intimacy mean in our marriage. While this episode doesn't directly cover topics pertaining to BPD, I hope that this type of honest conversation about my panic attacks and how we navigate engaging in sex can open the door for you to talk more openly to your partner(s) about how you view your own sexual needs. Consent should always be the foundation of any healthy relationship and communication about what you enjoy or how things have changed for you is an integral part of building an intimate partnership. I know it can be hard to talk openly about sex so if you are struggling to know what to say or how to ask for what you want, please know you are not alone in that. It's taken many years for me to even begin to be comfortable speaking about my sex life and I hope this episode serves as a reminder that there is no one-way-fits-all when it comes to engaging in sex with your partner(s). As always, if you have any recommendations for episode suggestions please reach out on my Instagram @journey.bound and we can talk.

The exploration of vulnerability and authenticity, according to Yuval, further deepens intimate bonds, fostering a genuine understanding and connection. The discussion also covers the broader implications of acknowledging and experiencing a full range of emotions without prejudice, particularly for men. Yuval critiques societal norms that often stigmatize emotional expressiveness in men, advocating for a more inclusive understanding of emotions as a foundation for emotional intelligence and deeper human connections. Moreover, Yuval introduces the concept of ecological wisdom, urging a recognition of our interconnectedness with the larger ecosystem. This perspective is essential for developing a holistic approach to relationships and life, highlighting the importance of aligning personal practices with universal patterns for true wisdom and fulfillment. Yuval also touches on discerning authentic wisdom, using Tantra's traditional context and ecological wisdom as examples. He stresses the importance of evaluating teachings and practices based on their harmony with universal patterns, advocating for a balanced approach that considers individual well-being within the collective and environmental context. In essence, Yuval's discussion revolves around enriching relationships and personal development by fostering intimacy, emotional depth, and a mindful awareness of our interconnected existence. Through authenticity, vulnerability, and ecological consciousness, individuals can achieve a more profound, fulfilling connection with themselves and the broader world. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mentalkingmindfulness/message
✨DREAM YOUR BIZ - LAST CHANCE TO ENROLL! ✨ (we start March 6th!) Today on the podcast, I bring back Dr. Rikki, a Sex & Intimacy coach (and my former Doctor and neighbor). When I had Rikki on the DYL podcast 2 years ago, she was a woman who seemed to have it all—a successful career in medicine, a sweet husband, adorable children, and a stunning home nestled within our supportive community. Her life was full, with every box checked off the societal checklist of success. But beneath this veneer of fulfillment, Rikki felt a secret emptiness... After a medical scare, Rikki found herself wrestling with an existential crisis -- she had manifested a life of complete misalignment, struggling to connect and find meaning in the well-curated life she had built. The veil of having “everything” could no longer mask her longing for something more, something profoundly fulfilling. After leaving her husband, her career, and her community, she rediscovered herself through pleasure, sex and deep self-love. Now remarried and "more alive than ever", Rikki is sharing her (NEW) story with us... We chat: When Rikki's “picture perfect” life started to crumble How she had always manifested from a place of control - crafting a "successful" life by society's standards Deciding to leave her marriage, hitting rock bottom and not knowing who she was or where she wanted to go Taking Julia's program "Dream Your Purpose" and realizing she didn't know what her passions are - a moment of deep sadness A magical trip to Costa Rica that reconnected her with the "divine feminine" Healing the sisterhood wound and “catty” women who like to tear each other down Why Rikki chooses to “lead from love” and let go of what people think Rikki's approach to manifesting combined w/ surrendering - and the exact prayer she would say on hikes to manifest her best, most aligned life How The Universe sends you subtle messages - and knowing what to do with these! How the act of surrendering during sex can help you tap into your power & rediscover who you are Manifesting deep and profound love - and marrying her new husband after 3 weeks of dating! The meteor shower that gave her the idea to become a sex coach Her now unconventional life & new career and how she handles criticism and judgment Sex Magic for manifestation - exactly how to do this process and why it's so powerful! We hope this conversation inspires you to step into YOUR most authentic & sexiest life! PS: March 2nd is now the final day to enroll in DREAM YOUR BIZ! If you are ready to create a business full of passion, purpose, impact & uncapped income, come join us! Go to www.dreamyourlifenow.com/dyb to secure your spot! I was asked recently "do you ever talk about sex in your content?" and I laughed because everything I talk about comes from personal view, so if I am going to talk about sex, it's going to be about my experience with it. It got me thinking about what stories I would share if I were to be so bold as to share my trial and error experiences on this topic, and what other aspects of my design would feature in it. I wrote a quick little list of what parts of my definition I thought might chime in and here's what really came through; taste cognition, tribal circuitry and touch being its keynote, being non-sacral, my experience with polyamoury, avoiding truth and confrontation, the depth of solar plexus sex, having gate 6 in my design Mars, my miscarriages, the responsibility of parenting, seeking attention as a Projector, my spleens attempts to keep me healthy, and a few other honorable mentions. If you're curious to hear more, it's time to hit play.
