Join us for episode 491 of the Theme Park Trader Podcast! This week, we're heading over to Universal as we share some of our favourite memories from the parks. From recording Theme Park Trader at Halloween Horror Nights , to seeing Hogwarts for the first time, staying at Hard Rock Hotel, stepping into Seuss Landing, and revisiting classics like Jaws, Spider-Man and The Hulk, this episode is packed with nostalgia. We also chat about the excitement of hearing Universal could be coming to the UK, the build-up to Epic Universe, and the Universal moments that have stuck with us the most over the years.
Join us for episode 489 of the Theme Park Trader Podcast! We're officially off the rails. What started as a constructive conversation about the new Muppet-themed Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster quickly devolved into a complete, unscripted mess. In this episode of Theme Park Trader, we attempt to map out the perfect "Muppet Land" and brainstorm which classic attractions deserve the Muppet treatment. However, things take a turn for the chaotic when we dive into the rumor mill regarding Bluey coming to Rafiki's Planet Watch—a topic that nearly ended the friendship (and the podcast). If you want to hear us argue about intellectual property placement, propose an absurdly high-maintenance Muppet buffet, and admit that we might actually be the Muppets ourselves, this is the episode for you.
Join us for episode 488 of the Theme Park Trader Podcast! Grab your winter coats and your park bags! This week on Theme Park Trader, we are joined by our fantastic friend Carly, who just stepped straight into Arendelle. Carly gives us the ultimate, unfiltered breakdown of her recent trip to the newly rebranded Disney Adventure World and its highly anticipated crown jewel: The World of Frozen. If you've been wondering how the park's massive transformation is actually turning out, this is the episode for you. In this episode, we talk about: First Impressions: Carly's thoughts on the park's glow-up and the new atmosphere. Step Into Arendelle: A deep dive into the World of Frozen—from the stunning lake views to the immersion level. The Rides & Attractions: Does the lineup deliver, or does it leave us out in the cold? Eats & Treats: The best themed snacks worth melting for (and the ones you can skip). The Ultimate Verdict: Is Disney Adventure World officially a must-visit destination now? Whether you're planning a trip or just want to live vicariously through Carly's vacation, pour yourself a warm drink and join the conversation!
Is Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party still worth the $119-$229 price tag? Or has Disney's premier spooky event become a "copy-paste" experience that's coasting on nostalgia? In this episode of Theme Park Trader, we're getting brutally honest about the state of MNSSHP. With Tom Sawyer Island gone and the massive Villains Land construction taking over the Rivers of America, the 2026 season is the perfect time for a total reboot. Join us for episode 487 of the Theme Park Trader Podcast! We're breaking down our "MNSSHP Masterplan" to make the party a must-visit again, including: The Drone Revolution: Why the 2026 sky needs more than just fireworks. Tiana's "Shadow Man" Takeover: Giving the Bayou its first spooky overlay. Interactive Treat Trails: Moving beyond the "candy dump" and learning from Oogie Boogie Bash. The Roving Sinister Seven: Why we need "happenings" instead of 3-hour character lines. Is Disney being lazy, or are they just waiting for Villains Land to open? We want to hear from YOU—what is the ONE change that would make you buy a ticket tomorrow?
Join us for episode 485 of the Theme Park Trader Podcast! "Jambo, everyone! Today on Theme Park Trader, we are going off-road into the 110-acre savanna of Disney's Animal Kingdom to uncover the secrets of Kilimanjaro Safaris. Most guests see a peaceful photo safari, but the history of this attraction is wilder than the animals themselves. We're talking about the original "dark" storyline involving poachers and a bloody elephant carcass, the "invisible" engineering that keeps the lions from eating the zebras, and the high-tech tricks—like air-conditioned rocks—that make the magic happen. In this episode, we dive into: The Big Red Mystery: Why Disney completely changed the ride's plot in 2012. The Impossible Road: Why the "mud" you're driving on is actually a feat of civil engineering. Animal Secrets: How keepers use "dinner bells" and climate-controlled habitats to keep the savanna active. The Simba Fleet: The $150,000 price tag of your safari truck and the grueling training of the drivers. 2026 Updates: What the construction of Tropical Americas means for your view of the Harambe Reserve. Poor Reviews: We read out some of the worst reviews that people have left for the attraction Whether you're a casual fan or a hardcore Imagineering nerd, this is the definitive guide to the "crown jewel" of Animal Kingdom. Grab your gear, 'Simba One' is ready for departure! Subscribe to Theme Park Trader for more deep dives into your favourite attractions!"
Join us for episode 482 of the Theme Park Trader Podcast! Are you even doing Magic Kingdom right… or are you just eating overpriced rubbish? In this episode of Theme Park Trader, we're putting Walt Disney World's most iconic park snacks to the ultimate test in our very own Magic Kingdom Snack Games. From the legendary Dole Whip to the controversial Mickey Pretzel, we've taken some of the most popular (and most overrated) snacks across the park and scored them across five categories: taste, value for money, uniqueness, convenience, and that all-important Disney magic factor. Along the way, we: Crown the best snack in Magic Kingdom (and it might surprise you) Expose the snacks that are all hype and no substance Debate whether nostalgia is clouding your judgement (yes, we're looking at you
Join us for episode 475 of the Theme Park Trader Podcast! On this episode of Theme Park Trader, we're diving into our full January 2026 trip report from Disneyland Paris — and yes, it was cold… but was it worth it? We break down crowd levels, ride availability, seasonal vibes, entertainment, and whether winter is actually a secret sweet spot for visiting. From near walk-ons to bundled-up park strategy (layer game strong), we cover what worked, what didn't, and what genuinely surprised us. And speaking of surprises… we need to talk about the food. Because somehow — against all historical odds — it wasn't terrible. In fact, there were moments where it was… good? We unpack what's changed, where we ate, and whether Disneyland Paris might finally be sorting itself out on the culinary front. Low crowds, honest takes, and at least one unexpected win — this one's a fun one. A reminder, if you have any questions for us, send us a message on TikTok or Instagram. Also, check out our guide to the DDP in 2026.
Join us for episode 463 of the Theme Park Trader Podcast! This week on Theme Park Trader, we're doing something a little different — and possibly insane. We kick things off with not one, but two games: first, we try to guess the top five most purchased items in Walt Disney World, and then we move on to naming the largest theme parks in Florida (with varying degrees of confidence). After that warm-up, we dive straight into one of the most unintentionally hilarious corners of theme park fandom: the positive reviews of Fast & Furious: Supercharged. That's right — we've dug through the internet to find the people who genuinely love one of the most notoriously bad attractions in Orlando. Buckle up, because things are about to get Supercharged… with misplaced enthusiasm. A reminder, if you have any questions for us, send us a message on TikTok or Instagram.
Join us for episode 457 of the Theme Park Trader Podcast! This week on Theme Park Trader, we're stepping back in time to explore the UK's oldest theme park — Blackgang Chine on the Isle of Wight. Opened all the way back in 1843, it's a park steeped in history, charm, and more than a few quirks. From its famous cliffside views to the mix of nostalgic attractions, dinosaurs, and family-friendly experiences, Blackgang Chine has been delighting visitors for generations. We'll be sharing our thoughts on the park, its unique atmosphere, and how it compares to the bigger names in the UK and beyond. Join us as we uncover what makes Britain's very first theme park such a fascinating piece of theme park history. A reminder, if you have any questions for us, send us a message on TikTok or Instagram!

This week Dan and I start the podcast by paying our respects to the victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando before also discussing the tragic attack by a alligator in Walt Disney World and discussing changes that Walt Disney World are making to combat both of these events. We then push forwards with the news by talking about the opening of Soarin Around the World and Shanghai Disneyland before discussing a brand new logo for the Universal Orlando Resort. We wanted to end this week's podcast on a high so Dan and I decided it was a good idea to talk through each of our top 3 favourite attractions at The Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World as well as talking about the 3 attractions that we favour the least. Join us for episode 18 of the Theme Park Trader podcast! As we recorded a filler episode last week to account for Dan being away in New York we had a heck of a lot of news to catch you guys up on this week! We kick the show off with a trip report from Dan and his thoughts on the Disney Store in New York before diving straight into the news where we chat about the opening of both Cobra's Curse at Busch Gardens Tampa and Reign of Kong at Islands of Adventure in Orlando. We then chat about the rather pointless DVC lounge that has opened up at Epcot before discussing rumours on a new attraction coming to Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and Disney adding premium parking to their water parks in Walt Disney World. To wind down on the podcast we discuss the paid safari experience coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom, Skipper Canteen now taking dining reservations and The Walking Dead returning to Universal's Halloween Horror Nights! Just some of the restaurants on the list include: Le Cellier Steakhouse Be Our Guest Restaurant The BOATHOUSE TREX This weeks weekly rant is all about planning and why it is a bit of a pain to have to book things like table service restaurants 180 days in advance and FastPasses up to 90 days in advance!
