Thank you and God bless!! click on the link to donate!Welcome to episode #177! This week, Matt and Braden talk with Javier and Shannan from 24/7 Marriage about differences in our libidos. Everyone is different in this areaIt's rare that you will have a “matching” season of life in regards to your libido. Sometimes your libido is up while your spouse's is down and vice versa. It's important to work together and through those differences. When working through and talking about these differences, be careful not to come into the conversation defensive. Take a step back, get an outside perspective on what's happening. Your spouse is not out to attack you, or be against you and there are many factors that could be playing into it. It's a conversation that isn't one and done. Continually talk about it as you grow and change in life. Creating safety & security between husband and wifeSeek first understanding and then be understood. Try to pause and understand where they're at, what they're navigating. It's easy to see the problem and not the person and not understand what is taking place. Approach with: I believe the best in you, you're not withholding to be hurtful or malicious. Seek understanding, to hear and to listen to what is being said and what is taking place. Spend time building that emotional security and safety. Be careful in the timing and the words that you use when you come to one another so we're not acting on defence. “Side Effects” of miscommunication about libidoIf there is not effective communication about this area, there can be resentment, bitterness and frustration that build up. When we don't engage in conversation, we build contempt for one another; “always” and “never” words come up and thoughts of “you're better than me”. Even when we reach a “solution”, we need to operate from a place of grace. We might know the solution, but we are human and are flawed people and don't always act in that way. Remember that forgiveness is not a scorecard. Keep the line of communication open. Look at the long game - your marriage is not the same in year 1 as it is in year 30. You are changing and growing; physically, emotionally, mentally. When we don't keep up with these conversations, it leaves room for these “side effects” to enter in and have us believe the worst in ourselves and our spouse. Leave room for growth and grace in this and all areas of your marriage. Ask a questionHave a question you'd like answered live on an episode? Are you ready to be wild and free? In Sweden, of all places! Our original Rich Mystic Man, Clint X Morgan, is bursting at the seams with an abundance of positive energy as he shares what Sweden means to him ahead of the Wild & Free Festival that he's co-creating in Stockholm in a few days. For fans of Clint and followers of his journey, Clint's story of living on a houseboat and stealing buffet breakfasts from a fancy nearby hotel fills in another vital chapter of how (and why) he got to where he is today. The power of manifestation, indefatigable self-belief, and a desperation to not succumb to the 9-to-5 upon his return to Australia before the birth of his son all fuel Clint to achieve what can only be described as a miraculous "full-circle moment" as the stars align for him upon his return 8 years later. Find out what that moment is inside!"Speaking the unspoken, devotion is in the motion." Clint is spitting the truth in rap and rhyme as he exudes charisma and asks us to join him. How to trust yourself! Let's talk about it, Rich Mystic Man Style! Trusting that you'll know what to say. Trusting that you'll know what to do. Trusting that you will be supported in all your endeavours. Trusting that you'll have enough money. Trusting that you are enough. Trust is a journey – never a place at which we arrive. But it can be unfolded, unpacked, or even excavated. Clint X Morgan is coming to us calm and steady today, a reassuring voice reminding us to take a moment and appreciate that we are exactly where we need to be. Drawing on his stellar personal experience and intuition, as per usual, The Rich Mystic Man is sharing that in that moment of distrust (which we are all faced with), we can reflect on what we can do differently. Perhaps that means a decision to find a way to outsource the chore that we don't enjoy doing. Or maybe it's checking in with our gratitude. Trust the divine. Trust the plan. Sure, easier said than done. But Clint X Morgan and The Rich Mystic Man community are on hand to support, and perhaps this download is just what you need to hear today. It probably is. You are enough, brother. And you are exactly where you need to be. When it comes to naturally increasing your testosterone levels, alcohol is one of the first things you need to cut off. Alcohol increases estrogen, the female hormone. We need to have a little bit of estrogen in our blood, but too much of it causes belly fat storage and man boobs and keeps us counterbalanced. Sleep is essential, too, for the production of testosterone. This hormone is produced in the morning, but deep sleep is crucial. Since alcohol compromises the quality of your sleep, its consumption compromises your testosterone levels.Today's guest, James Swanwick, is an expert in both alcohol and sleep.James Swanwick is a former SportsCenter anchor on ESPN, CEO and founder of Swanwick Sleep and Alcohol-Free Lifestyle, and host of the podcast Alcohol-Free Lifestyle. His teachings on sleep and alcohol have been featured in Forbes, Entrepreneur magazine, and Psychology Today.Swanwick Sleep makes stylish blue light-blocking glasses known as Swannies. These products help people avoid the harmful effects of exposure to blue light and improve their sleep quality.Besides, he's the author of “The 30 Day No Alcohol Challenge”, a book that helps people let go of alcohol, even if they are only social drinkers, to take their performance from average to the highest level! As you can tell, I had enough reasons to bring James to the show. Tune in to discover amazing hacks you can utilize to quit alcohol for good, improve your sleep and feel even more SuperHuman. “If you've got those five pillars (fun, community, accountability, coaching, and skin in the game), you'll stop drinking. Have you ever been curious about the difference between life coaching and therapy? Or wanted a peek behind the curtain with either one?If you just read an Instagram or blog post on “coaching vs therapy,” there's a very strong chance it's ridiculously oversimplified. “Therapists work on ‘problems' rooted in the past, coaches work on goals for the future!” COOL. Except it ain't that simple. Thankfully, Katie Read is joining me for this episode to help us unpack some of the complexity. As you'll hear, Katie is primarily speaking to therapists (since that's the niche of peeps she serves), but a lot of what we talk about that translates WAY beyond that— and/or is just interesting for understanding the working lives of therapists. How do coaches create their businesses? How do coaching businesses mesh with therapy? IS coaching really accessible to everyone? And how can therapists ethically add coaching into their practice without feeling guilty for charging more? We explore these questions, and a lot more. Let's jump in! About KatieKatie Read helps the helping professionals step into their biggest lives…so they can serve in the biggest ways. She has been an LMFT forever, directed large agencies, taught grad school, supervised 40+ interns, written psych training materials, spoken at conferences, and had practices in various cities. She is also the creator of:The Clinician to Coach® Academy,The Clini-Coach® Certification, and the Six-Figure Flagship® Program.
