It is a very individualized process and this is something I work closely with clients on. If you'd like to become a client of mine, inquire to work with me via the link in the show notes. This episode is from a conversation I had with Katelyn Parsons on the Modern Girl Podcast. You may remember her from a couple episodes back about body image. Sharing it here on the podcast because it’s full of insights and value. A few highlights of our conversation: My personal body image story- growing up as a dancer and finding self compassion in a yoga class My experience of discovering joyful and explorative movement rather than the constant “shoulds” of working out How discovering intuitive eating in the midst of dietetics school impacted my career decision My emotional decision to start her dietitian practice and building her practice My advice if you’re in a career that emphasizes a height and weight standard My expert opinion on the intersection of eating disorders and disordered eating If you want to know more about how to apply these things to your own healing inquire to work directly with Aligned Nutrition at https://alignednutrition.com/work-together/.

As a nutrition professional, I’m aware of the weight of nutrition information. Weaponized, it leaves us with food rules, guilt with eating, and shame about our dietary choices. As a tool, it helps us feel full and energized, satisfied as we move about our lives, and able to have fun and connect with food. In this episode, I discuss: my own journey with relearning information, how to discern nutrition research and some common “lenses” through which we hear nutrition information. It’s my job to help answer questions about nutrition and tailor it to your situation and background. Stop guessing and stressing out how you eat. Stories connect us, inspire us, and remind us of the human part of healing your relationship to food. I’m so grateful to Savannah, a former Realign Community member for sharing what it was like for her to connect with hunger and fullness. To actually build trust with eating. As always, I believe connecting with others in this work is an essential part of finding healing for yourself. Hunger and fullness are concepts that have several steps that need to take place first and they are very personal. Don’t keep guessing and feeling like you’ll never get there. Meet with me every week to tailor and personalize the courses, training, and worksheets I created to help you discover and build trust with eating. It’s life-changing and affordable.
