"You have set up this pattern where you completely abandon yourself unconsciously and make it about the other person because you believe on an unconscious level that that is the way that you will get love, connection, and ultimately survive."Codependency is one of those words I've avoided for a long time, not because it isn't real, but because I think it gets oversimplified in a way that misses what's actually happening. The deeper I go in my own process and the deeper I take my clients who've been doing this work for a while, the more I see that the layers of codependency we're dealing with aren't just behavioral. They're energetic. They started before we had language for any of it. And they've been running silently underneath every relationship, every decision, and every moment we've felt depleted, resentful, or like we're hitting a wall, without understanding why. What I've been uncovering, for myself and for the women I work with, is that so much of what we think is just "who we are" is actually a set of coping mechanisms we created in childhood to survive the emotional environment we were in. The way we automatically say yes. The way we absorb other people's feelings and lose track of our own. The way we don't even realize we have a choice. In this episode, I'm diving into what the deeper layers of codependency actually look like energetically, why they're so hard to see, and what it's meant for me to start pulling on these threads in real time, including some very personal things I've been navigating.TODAY'S HIGHLIGHTSWhy codependency goes far deeper than its mainstream definitionHow childhood coping mechanisms get wired into the nervous system as survival responses, not conscious choicesThe mother wound as the blueprint for every relationship pattern that followsThe Boomer generation, Pluto in Leo, and why narcissistic tendencies in parents are more common than most people realizeWhy highly sensitive, empathic women often can't tell the difference between their own feelings and everyone else'sThe moment I recognized I'd been operating from guilt and shame every time I said yesHow the same patterns that come from trauma become your greatest gifts once they're alchemizedThe energetic and astrological context for why so many of us are in a deep unraveling right nowThe questions to ask yourself when you're stuck, depleted, or repeating the same patterns**WAYS TO ENTER MY WORLD**When you leave a review of the podcast on Apple Podcasts and send us a screenshot of it, we'll send you a $250 credit that you can apply to anything else in my world.Check out Breathwork to Heal Anxiety on my YouTube channelJoin me in The Metamorphosis which is my 3-month, groundbreaking, flagship program to rapidly and efficiently clear the familial and ancestral trauma that is blocking you from experiencing the wealth and freedom that you desire.Starting a business or working with clients? Are you doing inner child work but still feeling stuck, anxious, or emotionally overwhelmed? In this eye-opening episode, Dr. Margaret Paul addresses one of the most important and most misunderstood topics in the healing space: what inner child work actually is, and the common mistakes that can inadvertently reinforce the very wounds you are trying to heal. Dr. Paul begins by drawing a crucial distinction between the soulful inner child and the wounded self that developed in response to fear and false beliefs, and walks through the key mistakes she sees again and again: giving the wounded child too much power, confusing love with indulgence, using inner child work to avoid adult responsibility, staying focused on pain without bringing in love and guidance, trying to fix the inner child rather than develop the loving adult, and attempting this work without a connection to something greater than the ego. Come explore what real, effective inner child work looks like here on the Inner Bonding podcast! Enjoy the podcast? Subscribe and leave a 5-star review! In this episode, I explain why “inner child work” has become so overused and cringey for many people, and how to actually practice it in a way that creates real, lasting relief instead of just intellectual exercises.Drawing from my own healing from binge-purge bulimia and work with clients, I share how to move beyond therapy buzzwords and genuinely soothe your nervous system. Why most inner child work feels ineffective or cheesyHow childhood patterns drive adult addictive behaviorsA simple, practical way to reparent yourself in triggering momentsThe power of co-regulation and having regulation modeled for youWhy feeling safe in your body is the real antidote to addictive patternsTraditional “inner child work” often stays in the head and doesn't create felt change.True healing happens when you learn to show up for yourself with genuine compassion and safety — especially when urges or emotions arise.Everyone is just a scared child trying to feel safe. Learning to soothe that part creates effortless behavior change.Soul Huddles: Free weekly Zoom community for real-time co-regulation and practice. Also mentioned: Josie Spinardi

"The only way to not feel uncomfortable is to take full responsibility for your inner landscape."I have one of my favorite people back on the show, David Cutler, and this time we went somewhere I've wanted to go for a while. We talk about men, feelings, and why there's still such a massive gap between men and women doing this kind of inner work. David shares his own story with a lot of honesty, including the moment at 13 when his dad made it clear that crying wasn't allowed anymore, and how martial arts, music, and embodied practice became the thing that kept him connected to himself when culture was pushing him out.We talk about where emotions actually live in the body, what it means to take self-responsibility without turning it into self-blame, and why codependency isn't the opposite of independence: it's the opposite of interdependence. We also get into positive projection, the blueprint our early relationships create for how we experience love, and what actually shifts when you stop outsourcing your emotional landscape and come back to yourself. David is one of the best manifesters I know, and by the end of this episode you'll understand exactly why.TODAY'S HIGHLIGHTSWhat gets shut down in men around age 13, and the cultural enforcement behind itWhy emotions aren't in your head. Here's the updated description:If you've tried inner child work, the visualizations, the letters, the workshops, and still find yourself falling back into the same reactive patterns and anxiety, this episode is for you. Most approaches to inner child work make a critical mistake: they treat the inner child as a separate entity to be parented and comforted, which actually keeps the trauma alive and deepens those neural pathways rather than healing them.In this episode, you'll discover a different approach, one rooted in body awareness and nervous system regulation rather than conscious mind reasoning. Learn how to notice feelings as they arise in real time, where you feel them in your body, and how to challenge their validity without re-traumatizing yourself.True inner child integration isn't about achieving a happy inner child. The harder you chase joy, the further it slips away - here's why...In this episode of Tao Dialogues, we explore a powerful Taoist truth: joy isn't something you achieve — it's something you allow. Most of us are conditioned to believe “I'll be happy when…” — but that chase is exactly what keeps joy out of reach. This teaching reveals how the Inner Child creates urgency, comparison, and pressure, while Shen — your deeper authentic nature — guides you back to calm, presence, and enoughness.Discover how practising wu wei (effortless effort) shifts you from striving to flowing — and why true joy appears the moment you stop chasing and start aligning with what already is. Send us Fan MailWhat if the most generous thing you could do for every relationship in your life is to come back to yourself first? This week I'm joined by Karen Green, therapist, professor, and creator of Conscious Care Cards, for a deeply honest conversation about attachment wounds, nervous system regulation, and why healing yourself changes everything around you.Karen has spent her career working with families, and what she keeps finding is the same truth at the centre of it all; that the quality of your inner world determines the quality of every relationship you have. And that it is never too late to do that work.In this episode, we talk about:Why attachment trauma is not a private family issue but a public health issue and why it starts with youThe fractures we carry from childhood and how they quietly shape every relationship we step into as adultsWhy one attuned, present relationship can rewire everything — and why it is never too late to experience thatThe neurobiology of "we": how a regulated nervous system is the foundation of every authentic connectionMoving from sympathetic chaos to parasympathetic presence and why connection simply cannot happen in survival modeReparenting yourself: meeting your own unmet needs so you can stop running on emptyWhy your triggers are not problems to fix but invitations to finally tend to the part of you that was never heldThe research-backed truth that one person, even for 45 minutes, can change the trajectory of a lifeKaren's work is a quiet reminder that showing up whole for the people you love begins with showing up whole for yourself and that the path back is simpler than you think.Karen A. Green, MSW, LSSW, is a tenured professor and Director of the Mental Health, Social Service & Addiction Counseling program at Mt. Hood Community College. You're not “too sensitive” — your nervous system is reacting to the past, not the present. Learn why you get emotionally triggered so easily, even in small, everyday situations. This is part 2 of a powerful 4-part Inner Child series for 2026.In this episode, you'll discover what's really happening in the moment you feel overwhelmed, reactive, or out of control… and why it's not a flaw or weakness. We explore the psychology of emotional triggers through the lens of Inner Child work, nervous system activation, and Taoist wisdom. In this conversation with Randy Spelling — life coach of 18 years, son of legendary TV producer Aaron Spelling, and co-host of the Oldish podcast — Karena explores how growing up with fame and fortune still left him empty. He shares how addiction nearly took his life and how he rebuilt himself through somatic therapy, EMDR, inner child work, and learning to trust his own intuition. You'll gain practical tools for breaking negative self-talk, working with rumination, and taking the first steps toward real healing. What does real healing look like when you've already tried everything — and still hit rock bottom? Randy Spelling grew up inside one of Hollywood's most famous families, with every privilege imaginable — and still ended up at lost, searching for anything to dull the pain. In this deeply honest conversation, Randy walks Karena through the night that changed everything, the addiction that almost killed him, and the 18-year coaching practice he built on the other side of it. From inner child work to EMDR to rewiring negative self-talk, this episode is a masterclass in what it takes not just to survive, but to actually heal. Dr. Kai Qiu, MD is an inner child healing guide who traded the path to psychiatry for something he believes the mental health space is missing. He's the author of Emotionally Immature Parents: A Recovery Workbook and combines psychology, Buddhist practice, and his own lived experience as a second-generation Chinese-Canadian to help successful people heal the patterns they inherited but didn't choose. His content reaches millions worldwide, and he works closely with high-achievers who look like they have it all together but still feel something quietly unresolved underneath. Dr. Kai helps them see those patterns were never personal failures. They were inherited programs. And they can be rewired. In this episode, Kai shares his story, opening up about medical school and the internal conflict and growth that came with honoring what felt more aligned. We share a conversation on the topics of emotionally immature parents, childhood wounds, and the impact these experiences can have on our sense of self. We explore inner child work as a main theme, including common misconceptions, why this work can feel uncomfortable, and how reconnecting with younger parts of ourselves can support healing, self-trust, and authenticity. We also discuss the pressure many people feel to follow certain paths, how childhood experiences can shape our relationships and self-perception, and how inner child work can support us in moving toward a more authentic way of living.Whether you're navigating family dynamics, questioning expectations placed on you, or wanting to better understand your emotional patterns, we hope this conversation can offer a grounding and compassionate perspective.FOLLOW DR. Your inner child might still be running the show, whether you realize it or not. In this powerful conversation, I sit down with holistic psychologist and bestselling author Dr. Nicole LePera (also well known as @the.holistic.psychologist) to explore the transformative journey of reparenting the inner child and how our earliest experiences shape the way we show up in life.Nicole shares how many of the habits we carry such as anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, overworking, or shutting down were once brilliant survival strategies that helped us cope with childhood environments. But without awareness, those patterns can continue running our lives long after the original circumstances have passed.Nicole also shares parts of her own story: growing up in survival mode, struggling with anxiety and burnout, and how learning about trauma, the nervous system, and emotional safety changed everything. In this episode, we dive into:✨ What the inner child actually is ✨ What's on the other side of reparenting (spoiler: so much freedom, connection, and self-trust) ✨ How childhood coping mechanisms turn into adult patterns ✨ Why awareness alone isn't enough to create real change ✨ The role of the nervous system in healing and transformation ✨ Practical ways to start reparenting yourself today ✨ Why change is possible at any ageResourcesNicole's latest book, Reparenting the Inner Child, is available for pre-order now — get your copy HERE.Connect with Nicole on Instagram: @the.holistic.psychologistYour host: Anna Svedberg Connect with me on Instagram: @nourishedwithanna

Learn how to JournalSpeak ➡️ LEARN HOW: https://tinyurl.com/2ph33u2s In this week's episode, I sit down with Peter Heymann, a coach in our BreakAwake community and a beautiful example of what is possible when someone is willing to do the real work. Peter recovered fully from chronic back pain using this work, and what makes his story especially powerful is how deeply it intersects with the way boys and men are conditioned in our culture. We talk about “the man box” — the unspoken rules so many boys are raised with: don't cry, tough it out, man up. When we teach boys to disconnect from their emotional lives, we don't eliminate their feelings, we just drive them underground. And the body keeps score. Peter shares how inner child work helped him reconnect with younger parts of himself that had been silenced for decades, and how that reconnection was one of the missing links in resolving his pain. This conversation is tender, honest, and incredibly important — especially for those of us raising boys, loving men, or trying to unlearn our own inherited rules about strength and vulnerability. Peter speaks candidly about fatherhood, emotional literacy, and what it means to model something different for the next generation. His back pain is completely resolved, but even more meaningful is the freedom he feels inside himself. And I'm so thrilled he'll be joining us again at the Omega Institute this June for his second summer with our community, witnessing people step out of fear and into their lives. You're going to love this one. XOOX n. Want your questions answered directly by Nicole?

In this episode, I'm on the other side of the mic. I was interviewed by coach and podcast host Andy Hoffer about inner child work — not as a theory, but as the deep patterning that continues to shape our relationships, decisions, and self-trust as adults. We talk about why so many people can be successful, self-aware, and still feel stuck… how childhood survival strategies quietly show up under stress… and what it actually takes to untangle these patterns in a way that creates real change. If you've done a lot of personal growth work but notice the same reactions, habits, or relationship dynamics repeating, this conversation will resonate. And if you want to go deeper, I invite you to my free masterclass, Untangled, where I teach how to break the childhood patterns that quietly run your adult life. You were never on trial — guilt, shame, and self-blame are learned illusions, not truth. In this episode of Tao Dialogues, we explore how to end guilt, shame, and self-blame by recognising a powerful truth: you are not on trial. Many of us replay the past, defending ourselves in an inner emotional courtroom shaped by childhood conditioning and the Inner Child's need to be “right.” But Taoist wisdom and wu wei (effortless effort) remind us that guilt and shame are not facts — they are emotions created from beliefs.Through the lens of Shen (your intrinsic spiritual essence) and the Golden Thread Process, we uncover how to release self-judgment, step out of emotional drama, and return to clarity, compassion, and alignment. This episode is for you if you:Struggle with guilt, regret, or shameReplay past mistakes and self-blameFeel trapped in perfectionism or people-pleasingWant emotional freedom rooted in Taoist wisdomRead the blog post that inspired this episode: https://davidjameslees.substack.com/p/empty-courtroom Our Tao Dialogues are powerful yet gentle teachings about authenticity, spirituality and finding emotional balance and flow in everyday life. Break free from seeking love and approval from others and discover how to reclaim your self-worth without performing, pleasing, or proving anything. Are you still trying to earn love by performing, pleasing, or never making a mistake? In this episode, we explore how the belief that love is conditional forms in childhood — and how it shapes people-pleasing, perfectionism, and the constant fear of not being “enough.” We uncover how to break free from the performance trap, heal the Inner Child, and remember your intrinsic worth. You'll learn how conditional love sabotages relationships, how to dissolve old vows using the Golden Thread Process, and how to create love from within rather than chasing it from others. If you're ready to reclaim self-worth and experience love without conditions, this conversation will guide you back to truth and emotional freedom. With your hosts, David James Lees (ordained Taoist monk, emotional and spiritual health teacher) and Alexandra Lees (mindset and business coach).Discover our online consultations, events and shop: https://www.wuweiwisdom.comSubscribe to David's FREE Journal: https://davidjameslees.substack.com/Other related teachings on our YouTube channel that will help you:LOVE & RELATIONSHIPS PLAYLIST https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9NQ_PWX4zID3yxrdCbbZFuKHCwgV6qhXSelf Love & Self Acceptance – Guided Meditation https://youtu.be/sJtQu6vaSHM?si=1RrasPbkzN8UxpeeMeditation for Self-Love & Loving Relationships https://youtu.be/duUfdGPUtFs?si=yPPN9lu9d5OanIjW Our INNER CHILD PLAYLIST https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9NQ_PWX4zICGLRS1b7q1HSJhZRash5qq Join our free Wu Wei Wisdom Community Facebook support group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/wuweiwisdomcommunity If you love our work, you can now make a small donation to help fund the continued production of our weekly teachings by buying us a 'virtual coffee'! https://www.buymeacoffee.com/wuweiwisdom Book an online Golden Thread Process & Inner Child Consultation with David: https://www.wuweiwisdom.com/therapies-for-body-mind/ Follow us on Instagram: @wuweiwisdomSign up to receive a relaxing guided meditation gift, plus our weekly newsletter + offers via email: https://www.wuweiwisdom.com/signup Music by Earth Tree HealingDisclaimer: This podcast and any associated teaching and comments shared are not a substitute for professional therapy, mental health care, crisis support, medical advice, doctor diagnosis, or professional healthcare treatment. Procrastination isn't laziness — it's a signal calling you back to stillness, clarity, and aligned action. In this episode of Tao Dialogues, we explore the stillness before action — a Taoist approach to ending procrastination and perfectionism without force, pressure, or self-criticism.Rather than pushing yourself forward, this teaching invites you inward — to the sacred pause where Shen (inner wisdom and clarity) aligns and true action is born. We uncover how procrastination often arises from the Inner Child's need for safety, not a lack of discipline, and how wu wei (effortless effort) restores natural momentum. You'll learn how to:Stop fighting procrastination and listen to its messageRelease perfectionism without lowering your standardsUse stillness as preparation, not avoidanceTake aligned action that flows from truth, not fearRead the blog post that inspired this episode: https://davidjameslees.substack.com/p/shifting-the-storyOur Tao Dialogues are powerful yet gentle teachings about authenticity, spirituality and finding emotional balance and flow in everyday life. Some wounds are not from one moment, but years of surviving what you never should have faced. On Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Avik sits down with trauma-informed psychotherapist Anjalia McGoldrick to explore how real healing begins when you finally slow down and look within. This episode is for anyone who feels stuck in old patterns, gets easily triggered in relationships, or quietly believes it is too late to change. You will learn how to spot inner-child signals, stop projecting pain onto others, and rebuild self-worth through compassion, forgiveness, and daily practice. About the Guest: Anjalia McGoldrick is a trauma-informed psychotherapist, metaphysician, and motivational speaker. She founded Life in Balance Counseling and Wellness Center and is the author of The Child I Left Behind. Key Takeaways: Treat triggers as signals: name the emotion, then ask “where do I feel this in my body?” Replace blame with curiosity: “What old story is this activating in me?” Practice inner-child reparenting: respond with reassurance, not criticism. Watch for avoidance habits (overworking, numbing behaviors) and choose one honest step instead. Use forgiveness as self-release: write what happened, what you learned, and what you needed then. Explore how early conditioning shapes your inner voice, and how to return to your wise, authentic self.Do you know whose voice is guiding your decisions? Learn why you believe something is wrong with you or that success feels unsafe — this is the Inner Child vow you never questioned. In this episode of Tao Dialogues, we explore The Inner Child's vow — an unconscious belief formed in childhood that can create self-doubt, anxiety, and self-sabotage, even when life is going well. Through Taoist wisdom, wu wei (effortless effort), and Shen spirituality, we gently uncover how this survival vow shaped our behaviour, and how it can be dissolved without force, self-criticism, or confrontation. This dialogue is for anyone ready to release old conditioning, trust life again, and return to alignment, flow, and authenticity. Nothing within you is broken. "We all have three different ego states. We have a parent ego state, we have an adult ego state, and we have a child ego state and we toggle between these three ego states all day every day."Ever wondered why you sometimes react to a minor business hurdle or a comment from your partner as if it's a life-or-death situation? In this episode, I'm sitting down with my long-time friend, Dr. Robyn McKay, to explore the psychological machinery behind our reactions. We're talking about Transactional Analysis, a modality that perfectly bridges the gap between clinical psychology and the deep work we do in spaces like The Metamorphosis. We explore the three ego states: the Parent, the Adult, and the Child, and how they dictate how you communicate with yourself and the world. For many of you, childhood wounds or ancestral healing needs may show up as a "critical parent" internal voice or a "wounded child" reaction to expansion. When you're stuck in these states, you're not leading; you're reacting. Robyn and I discuss how to shift from being "Velcro" to triggers, where every criticism sticks and drains your energy, to being "Teflon." By bringing awareness to these patterns, you can finally move into your adult power, where choice and personal creativity live.TODAY'S HIGHLIGHTSUnderstanding the psychological history behind modern healing practicesRobyn's personal pivot - what sparked her own inner child healingThe history of transactional analysisDecoding the three ego statesWhat neural networks are activated when you are in different ego statesThe parent script – responding to situations exactly the way our caregivers didRecognizing maternal patterns and the "freeze" responseHow to regulate your system so external triggers stop sticking to your energyAwareness as the ultimate tool**WAYS TO ENTER MY WORLD** When you leave a review of the podcast, send us a screenshot and we'll send you a $250 credit, you can apply to anything else in my world. The Metamorphosis starts January 20th. A Taoist guide to parenting with trust instead of fear — so love flows without control, criticism, or comparison.Parenting often pulls us between overprotection and emotional distance — both driven by fear, not love. In this episode, we explore the Tao of parenting, the art of guiding without controlling, and how to raise resilient, confident children through trust, presence, and balance. Drawing on Taoist wisdom, Inner Child awareness, and the release of criticism, comparison, and judgment, this episode reveals how fear-based parenting patterns form — and how aligning with wu wei creates freedom, emotional safety, and unconditional love for both parent and child. With your hosts, David James Lees (ordained Taoist monk, emotional and spiritual health teacher) and Alexandra Lees (mindset and business coach).Discover our online consultations, events and shop: https://www.wuweiwisdom.comSubscribe to David's FREE Journal: https://davidjameslees.substack.com/Other related teachings on our YouTube channel that will help you:INNER CHILD PLAYLIST https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9NQ_PWX4zICGLRS1b7q1HSJhZRash5qqSHEN (THE SPIRITUAL SELF) PLAYLIST https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9NQ_PWX4zIBmp50wYcmU7jCBLp1Qvl-jIs there a question you'd like answered on the show? Cultivating H.E.R. Space: Uplifting Conversations for the Black Woman
Hey lady! You know we’re all about our gentle growth and continuous improvement over here so we’re excited to share an episode that will help grow your toolkit for whatever life may bring your way.As we heal and process it’s common to notice where your childhood has yet again shaped your behavior and caused patterns that at one time seemed normal but now no longer serve you. Growing up in environments where our caregivers were doing the best they could with the tools they had means that we may not have always had the space to be your full self. And, if you grew up in a Black household it’s entirely plausible to not be allowed to feel your feelings and bury them instead. But, we’re grown now and you are not only allowed to feel your feelings but you are encouraged to and there are frameworks that can help. This week, Dr. Dom and Terri present the RULER method, a powerful tool that can help you make your way through difficult and complex emotions so that you can remain in your sovereignty and stand in your integrity. This five-step method can help you meet life as it comes, which will help you loosen the grip of needing to control life. Understanding your emotions offers you more choice in your experience, which can lead to feeling more stable, grounded and having increased capacity to feel the richness and beauty that life has to offer you. Using RULER in Real Life· Recognizing: “How do I know what I’m feeling? What signals does my body send?”· Understanding: “Where did this emotion come from? Is it layered with past wounds?”· Labeling: Talk about the power of language—using words like “disrespected” vs “angry.”· Expressing: “Who is safe to share this with? What’s an empowered way to show this?”· Regulating: Tools and tips (breathwork, journaling, therapy, movement, prayer, etc.)Quote of the Day:“If you don’t know what you’re feeling, it’s hard to know what to do with your feelings.” – Dr. Marc Brackett Goal Mapping Starter GuideCultivating H.E.R. This week on Dopey! Dave talks to Jason Williamson of Sleaford Mods about growing up in grim small-town England, discovering punk and mod culture, and using booze, speed, ecstasy and finally cocaine to numb himself through factory jobs, failed bands and a brutal home life. Jason breaks down how club and rave culture in the '90s felt like utopia, how Sleaford Mods was born from a eureka moment shouting over a looped metal sample, and how his addiction eventually narrowed into solitary marathons of cocaine and online porn in hotel rooms and crack houses. He opens up about childhood trauma, not being seen or taught how to love, his wife taking the kids and walking out, and the moment he poured out a beer and stopped everything—booze, coke, weed, cigarettes—on the same day. They talk therapy, complex trauma, breaking the family cycle, and finish with a ridiculous music nerd “this or that” game. All that and MORE on this weeks NEW Wednesday Dose of Dopey! What if the real danger isn't change, but staying stuck where you are?We often mistake familiarity for safety, creating inner resistance and a fear of the unknown whenever we face something new. This episode explores that subtle fear — the emotional “red light” that appears as change approaches, whether we're starting something, letting go, or sitting with uncertainty. We look at how fear softens when we stop forcing and instead align with life's natural flow. You'll learn why the unknown feels threatening to the mind and how presence helps us move through it with greater ease. Bringing in Inner Child wisdom, we uncover early conditioning that taught us to avoid the unknown. By meeting those younger parts of ourselves with compassion, we can create an inner safety that empowers us to step forward with trust and confidence. With your hosts, David James Lees (ordained Taoist monk, emotional and spiritual health teacher) and Alexandra Lees (mindset and business coach).Discover our online consultations, events and shop: https://www.wuweiwisdom.comSubscribe to David's FREE Journal: https://davidjameslees.substack.com/Other related teachings on our YouTube channel that will help you:INNER CHILD PLAYLIST https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9NQ_PWX4zICGLRS1b7q1HSJhZRash5qqGOLDEN THREAD PROCESS PLAYLIST https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9NQ_PWX4zIAsS_wgdRN7QGBKIk54sbyDJoin our free Wu Wei Wisdom Community Facebook support group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/wuweiwisdomcommunity If you love our work, you can now make a small donation to help fund the continued production of our weekly teachings by buying us a 'virtual coffee'! https://www.buymeacoffee.com/wuweiwisdom Book an online Golden Thread Process & Inner Child Consultation with David: https://www.wuweiwisdom.com/therapies-for-body-mind/ Follow us on Instagram: @wuweiwisdomSign up to receive a relaxing guided meditation gift, plus our weekly newsletter + offers via email: https://www.wuweiwisdom.com/signup Music by Earth Tree HealingDisclaimer: This podcast and any associated teaching and comments shared are not a substitute for professional therapy, mental health care, crisis support, medical advice, doctor diagnosis, or professional healthcare treatment. We talk all things beauty, fashion, nip slips, chicken fights, and why our inner teens were literal demons. We also dive into the ickiest parts of influencer culture, how martinis can be a spiritual experience, and why being mean sometimes feels just so right. Thanks to BetterHelp for sponsoring this episode! — This week, I interview Lilly Singh, actor and history-making content creator, with a new movie RIGHT up our alley: Doin' It (yes it's a movie about sex, specifically what happens when a South Asian virgin is assigned to teach sex ed). In this episode Lilly opens up about growing up in a world where emotional chaos felt familiar, why she kept gravitating toward toxic partners who gave her the bare minimum, and how she's now doing the inner work (therapy, inner child healing, setting boundaries) to protect “little Lilly.” In this conversation, we explore how past wounds shaped her romantic choices, and how she's rewriting that story one day at a time.

I'll dive into this area with a heartfelt question from someone seeking closure from past trauma, wondering if revisiting their roots could be the key to healing and rediscovering their lost self.
