Send us a textHello, may I have five minutes of your time? Almost everyone is going through a life challenge right now. And if you're not going through something, you probably know someone who is. My name is Stephanie Wright, and I want to briefly discuss how we can help one another through these challenges. Many Christian denominations will observe Lent from March 5th until Easter or Resurrection Sunday, April 20, 2025. This is when we commemorate Jesus' 40 days and nights in prayer and fasting in the desert. Afterward, he began his dynamic ministry in which multitudes were healed in their bodies, minds, and souls.Would you consider dedicating 40 days or a portion of 40 days sacrificing one thing leading up to Resurrection Sunday? For most people, it is food—the way Jesus fasted. Or perhaps it would be consecrating yourself from a favorite pastime like television or social media. Whatever you decide, be sure you give time to God in prayer. He is looking for a sincere and believing heart. If you fast from food, be sure to be wise and follow your healthcare provider's instructions. You might think that your fasting and praying is like dropping a teaspoon of water in the ocean. You would be wrong. There are numerous biblical and real-life examples where one person changed the outcome of circumstances and even saved a nation because they fasted and prayed. In Exodus chapters 24, 32, and 34, Moses went on at least two 40-day fasts. God was going to wipe out the Israelites for worshiping a golden idol. But after Moses' fast, God spared their lives. In the book of Jonah, the king of Nineveh put his country, himself, and even the animals on a fast of unspecified days. Jonah warned him of their downfall if he did not repent. God saw their works and spared Nineveh.Queen Esther declared a three-day fast with no food or water for all Jews in 127 provinces covering 2,700 miles in Persia. God delivered her people from annihilation by an evil man named Haman. The last Old Testament example I will give you is the prophet Elijah in I Kings chapters 20 and 21. Elijah fasted 40 days and nights, which led to the death of the evil queen, Jezebel, and her husband King Ahab.I will close with Jesus and the works He did after His 40-day fast. He healed the brokenhearted, set people free from physical afflictions, opened the blinded eyes, and more. Fasting and prayer bring spiritual, physical, and financial blessings.God is no respecter of persons. Therefore, you are no less important than the Bible personalities we discussed today. And your prayers are no less powerful than theirs. So, consider the impact you could have if you commit yourself to a fast and prayer during the days leading up to Resurrection Sunday. If you want an extended version of this presentation, listen to our podcast Episode 5, “H Stands for The Holy Spirit, Our Helper,” in our series, “Stay in His Presence.” Thank you for joining me today, and may you have a blessed time in preparation for Resurrection Sunday. Now, let's go to Apostle Charles, who will close us out with contact information and tell you how to acces | ReplyForwardAdd reactionIf you want to contact us or comment on this podcast, please visit our website at cgmissions.com/podcast, where all episodes are available by category in series format. Send us a text"The Anointing""The anointing breaks the yoke."Welcome to Season 13 of our podcast, "Stay in His Presence." This year, the podcasts will focus on the Holy Spirit. We will cover 26 of His attributes, going through the alphabet from "A" to "Z."Before we start, let's have a one-minute review of why we honor the Holy Spirit this year. Then, we will proceed to the ABCs of the Holy Spirit. My name is Stephanie Wright. Welcome to Episode 1, "The Anointing"The Lord impressed on me late last year to turn our attention to the Holy Spirit in 2025. In summary, we discussed how the Holy Spirit has not been given the recognition He deserves as the third person in the Godhead. We covered His purpose as our intercessor here on earth and as our advocate with the Father and Son in heaven. When man was created and God said, "Let us make man in our image," (Genesis 1:26), it proved that the Holy Spirit was one with the Father and Son. Thus, there is no rivalry between them. In another episode, we explained how a second-century writer, Tertullian defended the Holy Spirit as being One with the Father and Son. He coined the term "Trinity," and his teachings unequivocally stated that God the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost were Three Gods in One.We hope you grow closer to the Holy Spirit as we honor Him by studying His characteristics, "A" to "Z." First is "A," which stands for "Anointing." Our scriptures are from the Old Testament, Isaiah 61:1, Isaiah 10:27, and the New Testament, Luke 4:18.When Jesus stood in the temple in Luke, Chapter 4, and said the Spirit of God was upon him and the Spirit anointed Him to do all the things listed in Luke 4:18—mirroring what was said in Isaiah 61:1-2—he was saying the "anointing breaks the yoke."The anointing brings whatever we need, whether healing, peace, hope, joy, or anything good from God.The anointing is a special endowment from God that delivers from bondage and empowers the believer to do the work assigned to her or him. We need the anointing of the Holy Spirit to do God's will. The Holy Spirit also resides in us to help guide us daily in our assigned missions. Like Jesus, we are anointed to do the work and even greater works, as expressed in John 14:12.To summarize, "A" stands for "The Anointing." We all need the anointing to be like Jesus and do what Jesus did—preach the gospel to the poor; heal the brokenhearted, preach deliverance to the captives, recover sight to the blind, and set at liberty those who are bruised. This concludes this episode and segues into a special invitation for you. If you have not received Jesus as your Savior and Lord, today would be a good day to do so. Romans 10:9 says, "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead, you shall be saved, that is, saved from a life of sinning against God to a life of serving Him and spending eternity with Him." Send us a textEpisode 22 “The Holy Spirit and Christmas” Series: “Step into His Presence”Hello, and thank you for joining us today for Episode 22 of our series, "Step into His Presence." My name is Stephanie Wright, and we are going to look at the role of the Holy Spirit in the birth of Jesus. Christmas took on a new meaning for me in 2024. The Lord compelled me to speak about the Holy Spirit in November 2024 and to continue into 2025. During these preparations, the significance of the Holy Spirit at Christmas became more apparent to me. After we read what the angel Gabriel said to Mary when he announced that she would be the mother of Jesus, we will discuss the role of the Holy Spirit in Christmas. We will close the podcasts by remembering Jesus' purpose in coming into this world: to restore the relationship between God and man through his—Jesus'—death on the cross for our sins. Then, He rose from the dead so we could win over sin. That takes us to our closing point. Jesus was born so you could live eternally—forever—with God one day. If you have not received Jesus as your Savior and Lord, today would be a good day to do so. Romans 10:9 says, if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead, you shall be saved, that is, saved from a life of sinning against God to a life of serving Him and spending eternity with Him. Send us a textEpisode 21” The Unity of the Trinity “ Series: “Step into His Presence”There is no rivalry between God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Welcome to Episode 21 of our segment on the Holy Spirit, "The Unity of the Trinity." In a previous podcast, we discussed that God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are not rivals but united as One. We must understand this because when we pray, we need complete confidence that the Holy Spirit is taking our request to the throne of God as our intercessor here on Earth. We explore how the Holy Spirit was treated as if He were not part of the Godhead, the heresies that led to this exclusion, a man named Tertullian who gave the Holy Spirit His proper place in the Godhead, coining the word "Trinity"; and supporting scriptures that show the "Unity of the Trinity." Thank you for joining us today. And join us next time for another segment on the Holy Spirit as we “Step into His Presence.” In closing, if you have not received Jesus as your Savior and Lord, today would be a good day to do so. Send us a textHello and welcome to Episode 20, “In the Trenches with the Holy Spirit,” in our series, “Step into His Presence.” This podcast is dedicated to our veterans as we celebrate Veterans Day, November 11, and all week. Our guest today is a veteran and someone we all know, Apostle Charles G. Wright. He will share a war story and his personal experience when he was in combat in Vietnam. This is the first time he will tell us about this event. It is relevant to today's podcast because while we may not have been in an actual war, we have been in spiritual warfare. Let's go to our interview.Welcome, Apostle Charles. This is an informal interview, and you have agreed to share one of your experiences in Vietnam: being trapped in the trenches while under fire. Let's give our listeners a little background on you.You served as an infantry medic in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968. You are the recipient of the Bronze Star with “V” Device, the Purple Heart, the Vietnam Service Campaign Medal, and the Campaign National Defense Medal. We have previous podcasts about Apostle Charles, and we will share with you how to access those at the end of this presentation.Apostle Charles, would you please share with us about your experience with the Holy Spirit and how he spoke to you when you were in the trenches under enemy fire?If you want to contact us or comment on this podcast, please visit our website at cgmissions.com/podcast, where all episodes are available by category in series format. Send us a textEpisode 19, “Step into His Presence: The Holy Ghost”Hello and welcome to Episode 19 of our series “Step into His Presence.” Today, we are stepping into the presence of the Holy Spirit, also known as the Holy Ghost. My name is Stephanie Wright, and I am your host for today's episode. Before we start, you can enjoy Episode 18, a flashback video on our YouTube channel @cgmissionsinc celebrating our 20th anniversary in missions. Okay, it's time to step into His presence.Next year, on March 23, I will celebrate 50 years since I accepted Jesus as my Savior and Lord. That was March 23, 1975. I have traveled for 50 years with another friend. My friend isn't male or female, he or she, but my friend is a spirit. You guessed it, the Holy Spirit or the Holy Ghost. I was compelled to talk about the Holy Spirit because some of us have relegated Him to a bit part in a major production—our lives—instead of giving Him equal billing with the Father and the Son. It is no offense to the Father and Son if we recognize the Holy Spirit. They are not rivals with one another because they are One God in three distinct persons—the Trinity. They work in concert to fulfill the requests presented to the throne of God. We have forgotten the Spirit's purpose in our lives. The Father and the Son sent the Holy Spirit back to earth to indwell and empower us. That's what Jesus said about the Holy Spirit in Acts 1:8. “But you shall receive power (Dunamis) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” The Holy Spirit has a specific work to do on earth. That work is to be our intercessor between earth and heaven—an intercessor for advocating or advising in any situation. So, when we have circumstances that we don't fully understand—and there are many of those—we have to trust the Holy Spirit to intercede for us. The Holy Spirit knows how to interpret what we need for God to do. Romans 8:26 says, Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.I explained in an earlier podcast that the Holy Spirit is our advocate, like an attorney or lawyer. So, let's think of it like this. You go to an attorney and explain what you need done. Your attorney will not go to the court and use your exact words. She will qualify or break down what you said into legal terminology so the judge understands your request. Most likely, what you say would not be in the language a judge would comprehend, but your lawyer will precisely and effectively word your request so that it is understood perfectly by the judge. That's what the Spirit does for us. We say Holy Spirit, this is what I need. The Holy Spirit intercedes for you in heaven with the perfectly worded request. Then Jesus—seated at the right hand of God as our mediator with God—finalizes the request to God and God answers. I Timothy 2:5 and Mark 16:19. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of . . . When you were little, did you have a superhero or a super–shero or did you want to be one? I guess for many of us, depending on your age, it was Superman, then as the years went by, it was Wonder Woman. Like any other kid, I loved superheroes too. But do you realize that you are a supernatural hero or shero who can make a difference on the small stage or on the world stage? Yes. You can make a difference through prayer and fasting. Fasting and prayer can change your life and can change the lives of people anywhere in the world. I believe this because of the supernatural superheroes in God's Word who fasted, prayed and changed the outcome of history. But I have also heard of modern-day accounts of how prayer warriors changed things through fasting and prayer and delivered a nation. Let's explore this today. My name is Stephanie Wright. Endurance through Fasting and PrayerHello and welcome to Episode 10, in our “Step into His Presence” series. What does it mean to endure in prayer and fasting? Anna is a woman in the New Testament who was an example of someone who endured. Some scholars believe she was a widow for eighty-four years, and during that time, she never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying until the promise of seeing the Messiah was fulfilled in her life. Luke 2:36‑38. My name is Stephanie Wright. Let's talk about endurance through fasting and prayer. | ReplyForwardAdd reactionIf you want to contact us or comment on this podcast, please visit our website at cgmissions.com/podcast, where all episodes are available by category in series format. No weapon formed against you will prosper. . . and when you fast, fast as unto the Lord. Isaiah 54:17, Matthew 6:16, 18. Hello and welcome to Episode 8 in our series, “Step into His Presence.” Today, we continue to "Step into His Presence" to learn about prayer with fasting. Today's episode is entitled “Empowered Through Fasting.”Today, we are going to discuss three reasons for fasting and share a personal testimony about fasting. My name is Stephanie Wright. Let's step into his presence to learn more about empowerment through fasting and prayer. Before we get started, if you have not already listened to Episode 6 of this series, “Nothing is Impossible with God,” please do so. It provides scriptures, some basic foundational principles, contemporary examples of fasting with prayer, and caveats on how to fast. One caveat is to check with your healthcare provider before taking on your chosen fast. Hello and welcome to Episode 7 in our series, “Step into His Presence.” Today, we continue stepping into his presence to learn about prayer with fasting. Today's episode is entitled “Unmasking the Enemy.”Most of us have seen the Mission Impossible movies, and some are old enough to have seen the television series. There is one significant scene in almost every movie and many TV episodes where a fake rubber mask is used to disguise the good guys to look like one of the bad guys. In other words, you did not always know who the real enemy was. That's what we are going to talk about today. Who is the real enemy when it comes to spiritual warfare in fasting and prayer? Listen to this podcast—you may be surprised when you unmask this enemy. My name is Stephanie Wright, and this is Episode 7, “Unmasking the Enemy,” in our series “Step into His Presence.” Before we get started, if you have not already listened to Episode 1 of this series, “Nothing is Impossible with God,” please do so. It provides scriptures, some basic foundational principles, contemporary examples of fasting with prayer, and caveats on how to fast. We emphasize the importance of checking with your healthcare provider before starting your chosen fast.If you want to contact us or comment on this podcast, please visit our website at cgmissions.com/podcast, where all episodes are available by category in series format. Episode 6, “Nothing is Impossible with God” Series: “Step into His Presence: Fasting” Nothing is impossible with God. (Matthew 19:26; Mark 10:27; Luke 1:37). These are words of encouragement when we go through difficult times. And haven't we all been there at one time or another in our walk with Christ? If you haven't, keep living. But we must never forget what God has done for us, and we must remember that He can do what He has once done again and again. It is so easy to forget, but the Holy Spirit brings to our remembrance all things. John 14:26. In this and future episodes, I will share some personal experiences with you on how prayer and fasting thwarted attacks against myself, my family, friends, and even people I did not know personally. Yes, I said “prayer AND fasting” because that is what I learned early in my walk with God from the very first year I truly committed my life to Him. The church I attended after I gave my life to the Lord taught prayer with fasting. Let me stop here and give a caveat. I am talking about what we (my husband and I did as prayer warriors) did. We are not saying you have to follow our pattern of fasting, but we encourage you to thoroughly research fasting so you do not do harm to yourself. This includes following and seeking appropriate medical advice. The Bible says there are some things that are not going to be manifested without fasting.Everyone does not believe in fasting, and that is okay. If you see prayers answered without fasting, then that is good. But if you are still praying about the same things after years and years without the desired results, why not try fasting with prayer? My husband, Apostle Charles Wright, and I have also fasted and prayed for others. We have seen people who were sick be healed, who lost jobs be restored to the same job or new jobs, and people who were in bondage from sexual immorality delivered. Future episodes will present much more about prayer and fasting and how they result in a victorious life in Christ. So, please stay with us.Thank you.If you want to contact us or comment on this podcast, please visit our website at cgmissions.com/podcast, where all episodes are available by category in series format. Episode 5, “The Garden Battles" Series: Step into His Presence"Today, we will answer the question, “Why did Jesus pray in the Garden of Gethsemane and not somewhere else before he was arrested?”Hello and welcome to Episode 3, in our new series “Empowered Through Christ, Our Living Hope.” My name is Stephanie Wright. Thank you for joining us today. It's time to go into “The Garden Battles.” Why did Jesus spend his final hours in prayer in the garden—in this case, in the Garden of Gethsemane? This was not the only place Jesus had prayed before. He prayed in the mountains all night (Luke 6:12), in public (John 11:41-42, John 12:27-30), before Lazarus was raised from the dead (John 11:41‑45), and at many other times and places. So, why the garden? There are many theories, I am sure, as to why Jesus prayed in the garden the night he was arrested before his eventual crucifixion. Well, I would like to propose that Jesus prayed in the garden so he could defeat the devil in the garden. Remember, Adam and Eve failed the test when they were tempted by the devil in the Garden of Eden to eat the fruit of the tree of good and evil. They were strictly forbidden to eat from that tree, but they did it anyway in direct disobedience to God's command. (Genesis 2:16‑17, Genesis 3).If you want to contact us or comment on this podcast, please visit our website at cgmissions.com/podcast, where all episodes are available by category in series format. Hello and welcome to Episode 4, in our series “Step into His Presence.” I'm your host Stephanie Wright. We will be celebrating Resurrection Sunday or Easter in a few weeks. This is a good time to remember that Jesus died so we might be forgiven for our sins. And did you know that there is a link between forgiveness and hope? So today, we are going to “Step into His Presence for Forgiveness.”Forgiveness is one of the topics I briefly mentioned in the first episode of the series, “Step into His Presence.” We also covered it in a previous podcast, but it is worth repeating, and this time, we are on YouTube—@cgmissionsinc.Does forgiveness -or unforgiveness-affect or have an impact on hope? I Googled the question and found there had actually been research done on the topic, which said “yes” forgiveness can affect hope. Now, that's what scientists discovered, and I thought that was interesting from a scientific perspective. However, I wanted to consider what the Bible said about how forgiving someone can positively impact hope or, conversely, not forgiving can negatively impact hope. Let's get started on today's presentation on forgiveness and hope as we "Step into His Presence." This is a reboot of the podcast from Day 2, of 2022 Christmas:Charles George Missions Presents: Day 2 – Christmas Podcast – “Modern Day Shepherds”Hello and welcome to Day 2 of our Christmas Podcast. We are bringing these daily Christmas podcasts to encourage and lift you up during this season. We are also lifting up the name of Jesus because this is who we celebrate at this time of year. Today we are going to look at the shepherds the caretakers of the sheep who were among the first to receive the good news of Jesus' birth. We give special recognition today to the caretakers in our society – our health care workers, first responders, caretakers in the home, and all those who have been there in some way for those who are suffering during these challenging times. These are the modern‑day shepherds caring for the sheep. We will now start with what is known as our memory share where someone shares their favorite Christmas memory. Today, James McNear, a pastor, accomplished musician and composer, and founder of Macattack Records, will share his favorite Christmas memory and gift. Pastor McNear is the producer of CGM's Christmas CD “We Love Christmas” selections of which we play on these podcasts. In today's presentation we see God's intense anger, or wrath, poured out on all who have rejected Him. Some say God should be forgiving but as we have seen in previous chapters of Revelation, God gave mankind many opportunities to repent, not only before the Tribulation and the Great Tribulation, but during the Tribulation. So He said, “Enough is enough.” It's time to pour out the final judgment through “God‘s Bowls of Wrath,” the title of today's presentation. If you want to contact us or comment on this podcast, please visit our website at cgmissions.com/podcast, where all episodes are available by category in series format. Hello and welcome to Episode 17 in our series, “Revelation Expectations.” Today's episode is entitled “The Antichrist, The False Prophet, and 666” and covers Chapter 13 of the Book of Revelation of Jesus Christ. We are your hosts, Apostle Charles G. Wright and Dr. Stephanie Wright.Today, we will learn about the Antichrist and the False Prophet. We will see that the Dragon, Satan, gives authority to two different beasts. One beast comes out of the sea, the Antichrist, and the other from the earth, the False Prophet. Because of the power Satan gives them, these two beasts can perform great signs and wonders and control commerce and the religious realm. They will compel all of humanity to worship Satan and the Antichrist. Those who have given their lives to Christ need not fear the end times, the Dragon, the Antichrist, or the False Prophet. Jesus will come for His own before the seven-year Tribulation begins. (1 Thessalonians 4:16‑17). Hello and welcome to Episode 13, entitled "The Great Tribulation Continues." We move forward with the Great Tribulation from the last episode, Chapter 9 of The Book of Revelation. We are your hosts, Apostle Charles G. Wright and Dr. Stephanie Wright, D.Jur.We encourage you to listen to Episode 12 and Episode 1, in this series for background and other episodes to get caught up. But as a brief review, which is a little more than one minute: we covered the beginning of The Tribulation in Episode 10, Chapter 6 of the Book of Revelation. The tribulation is a seven-year period, with the last 3 1/2 years being the Great Tribulation, covered in Chapters 8 through 18. As a further review, before chapter six, those who receive Jesus as their Savior and Lord are caught up to meet him in the air or raptured when he returns. Read First Thessalonians Chapter 4, verses 16 and 17. If you have invited Jesus into your heart and know Him as your Savior and Lord, you do not need to fear the end times, the Tribulation, or the Great Tribulation. But we should be concerned for our family, friends, or anyone who does not know Jesus. As we continue through to Chapter 19, you will understand why. If you have not invited Jesus into your heart, now would be a good time to do so.That is a good lead into today's presentation, "The Great Tribulation Continues."If you want to contact us or comment on this podcast, please visit our website at cgmissions.com/podcast where all episodes are available by category in series format.
