On this episode we look at 3 of Analog Alien pedals including the Twister, Bucket Seat, and the Fuzzbubble 45! We are joined by the two brothers that started this company, Jack and Joe Napoli. Jack and Joe talk about how their dissatisfaction with all the one-trick-pony, character sucking pedals they were using in their recording studio led them to start building their own pedals. Their aim was to pack the sound of legendary vintage amps infto a simple but versatile pedal design. Prisma Guitars Founder Nick Pourfard joins us in the studio for this episode. We check out some of the latest creations from Prisma, famed for building one of a kind instruments from repurposed skateboards. Nick talks about his recent gruosome injury, when while working in his shop he severed off 2 of his fingers, and badly damaged the rest. Luckily, surgeons were able to reattach but Nick is still struggling to regain normal function. In this episode we chat in-studio with Iconic Guitars founder Kevin Proctor about his line-up of custom guitars, how he got started as a builder, what inspires his designs and what separates his customs from standard production models and other custom shops. Many of Kevin's guitars are modeled after famous iconic players' axes and we take a look (and listen) to some of the Strat-styles inspired by David Gilmour, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Mark Knopfler.

In this episode we explore the fuzzes and crazy noise and modualtion effects from Electro-Faustus. If Jimi Hendrix were to do a rendition of the Star Spangled Banner to capture today's sense of cultural and political upheaval, these would very likely be his pedals of choice. We take a look at the Electro-Faustus Guitar Disruptor, the Guitardammerung, and the Black Fly pedals. We also talk to founder Eric Kessel about the inspirations behind these pedals (Hendrix being one) and the growing role of noise devices in both EDM and in guitar-based music, where the players are looking for more than just traditional tone choices.

In this episode we take a look at the new Fender Mustang and Duo-Sonic reissue guitars and basses and Keeley Electronics Tone Workstation, Dark Side Workstation and Delay Workstation pedals. Eric and Paul discuss the origin of the 60's Fender offset guitars, their role in grunge and punk music and the artists who rely on them. They talk about the role of Robert Keeley as one of the pioneers of modifying stock effects pedals and as an integral figure in seeding the recent explosion of boutique pedal manufacturers.We also learn that giving Paul a pedal that magically recreates any sound from Dark Side of The Moon is a study in unbridled self-indulgence. 

Billy Sheehan was the bassist of choice for David Lee Roth when Roth left Van Halen in 1985. He joined David and Steve Vai for the platinum Eat 'Em and Smile album and tour. In 1987, Billy went on to form his own band, Mr. Big, achieving a #1 Billboard Hit as well as the bands "Niacin" with Steve Vai and Dennis Chambers, and more recently "The Winery Dogs" with Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater.
