This particular episode is very different than any other interview, because our conversation was while Patrick was having a dental appointment, the dentist was kind enough to step out for 45-minutes for us to chat. Today's workplace is actually a second home for many people, as coworkers become families, people grow together resembling brothers and sisters. Then the unthinkable happens... someone is the center of a sick joke; their feelings are damaged and it seems almost like an instant replay of when they were being bullied on the schoolyard. But this time it’s different because with age is less tolerance, their attitude is crushed and any remaining self-esteem is only present within their imagination of a perfect life. This type of news spreads quickly as a lovely community is shocked by violence. The well known, well liked mildly mannered person snapped and behaviorally turned a reactionary killer... Episode #30 introduces an interesting story of the boy who became an accomplished man.  Who transformed his abilities with skills of passion, hard work and optimism, to take his leadership expertise for the prevention of workplace violence. To untangle complicated situations, takes someone who understands pain. Felix P. Nater is a fascinating example of identifying the champion within the celebrity. As a young boy he was placed in a children's home with his younger brother, without the luxury of speaking English, he refuses to allow the surrounding negative influences to distract his aspirations. Not only does he rise above his environment, but he succeeds professionally balancing two careers achieving high level leadership positions simultaneously. If I remember right my contribution was more listening than talking, but I’ve learned the significance of having selective dialog, by allowing someone to express their feelings can be an appreciated experience. She was returning from a romantic rendezvous with someone of whom she thought that just maybe there was a future of long-term potential. By  the painful tone of her voice… I could sense the possible relief that probably her parents were experiencing as they were waiting for her to return home (only speculation), but I often explain to people, that “PUPPY LOVE IS REAL TO THE PUPPY”. Her feelings had been badly bruised; obviously she needed an old fashion banana split and an outstanding comedy to relieve her mind from the sensations of the emotional rollercoaster. As we were departing for our gates I introduced my passion and profession while offering to assist her, she kindly said she would LOVE to… with this episode it is my pleasure to introduce you to Sheridan, of Dallas, Texas.

Not only has she put these sorrowful memories behind her, today she credit those experiences, which pivoted, toward her continued success. Too often we hear of about tragic endings and the collateral damage from bullying, our society needs more success stories like Lisa, from Orange County, California.

On one of my last flights I sat next to a guy who was living the American dream. Hi this is “Don Crosby with your Sound Behavior Minute”. After what seemed like hours of listening to Jackson talk about his family, business, cars, travel and amazing lifestyle… he asked me… so… sir what do you do for a living? I said, thank you for asking, I help people by introducing them… to themselves and to their loved ones… He was so fascinated that it took him only minutes to complete my assessment… then his eyes began to water as I introduced him… to his true self… of stress, pure exhaustion and low satisfaction… and then we talked like old friends for the next 2 hours until we landed. I believe sitting next to Jackson was no coincidence… he, like too many people are troubled from real life and the value to have someone to understand them is priceless. Thank you for your interest and supporting Sound Behavior.

Last week I was talking with George, and he is not doing well because he feels flawed. Naturally his behavior is very strong and comes across harsh and hurting the very people he loves. Even his own parents don’t understand him… now he is almost to the point of a nerves breakdown, and he is asking why? Have you ever wondered why you seem to self-destruct your relationships? Hi this is Don Crosby with your Sound Behavior Minute. We are living during a time when people are more stretched than ever… and like George...you may feel internally very lonely. Our time together was rich because I was able to teach and encourage George by pointing out his natural God gifted abilities…why he does this…and why he reacts like that. There is great comfort in understanding yourself and “the why you do, what you do”.

This interview has a special place in my heart because this episode is with my nephew Jacob, the younger of my brother’s two boys. We started introducing the ProScan assessments to my nephews before they were 10 years of age and here he is already 24-where have the years gone… my father, his grandfather would be so proud of them both. Listening to Jacob reminded me of some of the dynamics and choices of living off campus during my day. In preparation for our interview I printed off a series of Jacob’s scans to discuss his behavioral modification from his youth to where he is now moving into his set adulthood behavior. We discussed his part-time pizza delivery job; common social distractions and I even asked about what behavior he would look for in a special woman. Without hesitation you’ll enjoy this episode. If so please rank it for us… thanks in advance for listening to Sound Behavior!

This profound interview with one of my best friends captures a man’s passion from an early age to break the generational pain of being raised by an abusive father… to himself becoming an amazing father, an accomplishment as a young man he couldn’t conceive possible. His excruciating childhood prepared him to become a marine; the combination of his god-gifted behavior and early abuse crafted his training excellence as an accomplished leader. Then fast forward his life to when his wife walked out, his career changed from being a Gunnery Sergeant of the US Marine Corps to becoming a full-time father and mother. Jack is man familiar with the seriousness of battle, during his entire adult life he has fought the mental incarceration remaining from the Vietnam War. Today, at 70-years young he still has the heart of a lion, the unconditional love of a mother, the tough love of a father and the inter-strength from everyone who knows Jack Parson’s, because he is still the “Gunny”! Once a marine…always a marine as Jack has shared with me hundred if not thousands of time… that he is honored… to have walked among heroes.

A few weeks ago I was meeting with a couple who have been married for 35 years and the wife confessed that she feels their relationship is empty! Have you ever wondered why it seems that your spouse fails to understand you…? Hi this is Don Crosby with your Sound Behavior Minute. And, whether you’ve been married for 35 years or you just said I DO…the issues of miss communications in your relationship are seriously predictable. What came from my conversation with Becky and Bob was interesting… Becky confessed “I still love my husband… but I don’t like him”. Bob was stunned because he didn’t know it was that serious, apparently she was good at masking her true feelings into their children. Their turning point was when I compared their communication styles with their natural behaviors. Now, they are working together at recovering their original spark back into their relationship. Thank you for listening to Sound Behavior…

Relationships are naturally complicated which suggest the importance of have aspiring students of behavior, but remember even apprentices need the right tools. Since the beginning of time when man first started crafting lifestyle conveniences, the chisel and hammer came before the wheel… Naturally we understand that many daily activities require the proper tools… It’s hard to replace a flat tire without a wrench and jack. You shouldn’t try tightening a screw with a hammer. Nor attempt to remodel your kitchen with a chain saw. These examples remind us that the RIGHT tools are necessary for perfection. Most of us understand the importance of having the proper tools to repair and build things, but when it comes to using tools to understand family, co-workers or ourselves the idea seems to be spoken in a foreign language. During this podcast my friend Josh from Charlotte, NC and I discuss how his training and the ProScan measurement tool has impacted his life. Personally... I hope you enjoy this episode... thanks again!

Sound Behavior is back on the air broadcasting as a 30-minute podcast replacing our weekly one-hour radio show. As the production and design components were being checked off my list the only missing ingredient of launching the new project was guest interviews. Then while on a consulting project in Tallulah, Louisiana one of the women attendees one of my morning classes mentioned I needed to connect with her son Ben in Nashville, TN... and when I mentioned the start of my podcast… she said oh ya! But what makes this referral story so interesting… is this session was in the Madison Correctional Center where I was working with men and women inmates who are getting prepared for release from prison into society. She wrote Ben’s information on a post-em note, handed it to me and a week later he and I connected for him to be my guest first on Sound Behavior. Ben is a very gifted young man with both a beautiful voice and an amazing story, you must listen to this first episode and go to his website www.BenWaits.com to learn more about Ben and his journey. Hopefully you’ll be an important participant of our journey by listening, sharing with your friends, family and/or maybe even becoming a guest. Thank you for your interest in our Sound Behavior Podcast. Until next time, Don
