What happens when atheists who expect nothing after death report vivid visions of an afterlife? Dr. Steve Miller returns to unpack surprising cases of near-death experiences, deathbed visions, and other phenomena that challenge a purely naturalistic worldview. He talks about how these encounters unfold, what they describe and how they reconcile them with their beliefs. Are these experiences just brain chemistry or something more? *Get a MASTERS IN APOLOGETICS or SCIENCE AND RELIGION at BIOLA (https://bit.ly/3LdNqKf) *USE Discount Code [SMDCERTDISC] for 25% off the BIOLA APOLOGETICS CERTIFICATE program (https://bit.ly/3AzfPFM) *See our fully online UNDERGRAD DEGREE in Bible, Theology, and Apologetics: (https://bit.ly/448STKK) FOLLOW ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA: Twitter: https://x.com/Sean_McDowell TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@sean_mcdowell?lang=en Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/seanmcdowell/ Website: https://seanmcdowell.org Discover more Christian podcasts at lifeaudio.com and inquire about advertising opportunities at lifeaudio.com/contact-us.
Freedom takes many forms, but rarely is it as beautifully illustrated as when a beautiful Bald Eagle decides to share your journey. Riding through the expansive high plains of southern Wyoming, where the sky stretches endlessly and human presence fades away, I encountered something truly extraordinary – a curious bald eagle who chose to follow me for miles.Standing on my pegs, cruising at a modest 30 mph along the dirt roads near the Colorado-Wyoming border, I first spotted this magnificent creature perched atop a pine tree. As I passed by, trying not to disturb its solitude, something unexpected happened. The eagle took flight and began following me, soaring about a hundred feet above my right shoulder against the brilliant blue sky. For five remarkable miles, we shared the landscape – a rider on his steel horse and the king of the skies, both experiencing the same freedom in our own ways. This encounter resonated deeply with Steve Miller's iconic "Fly Like an Eagle." The song speaks of personal revolution, of breaking free from constraints – exactly what motorcycling represents for so many of us. When we ride, we shed anxieties and expectations, declaring our independence from the mundane. We experience transformation with every mile. The eagle seemed to understand this, swooping down as if to communicate a profound truth: that out there, away from the noise and busyness of modern life, we can find perfect presence. We can learn to live for today, to simply fly and be free.Next time you're on your bike, whether navigating busy streets or remote trails, remember to slow down occasionally. Stand on your pegs. Take in the world around you. You never know what magic awaits – perhaps your own eagle, ready to teach you something about freedom, connection, and the incredible perspective that belongs uniquely to those of us on two wheels. Share your own magical riding moments and leave a review on Apple Podcasts to help others discover these stories of peace, love, and the special freedom that comes with motorcycling.

Of all the people we regularly interview, Steve Miller, the Los Angeles filmmaker and journalist (not the other Steve Miller from DC) is among the most fun, the most surprisingly insightful, the brightest, and even good-natured. It's within that warm and even humorous context that we discuss some of the most horrific and important issues in the world today and forever. It starts with riots in Steve's hometown and then goes on to: “Why do they want to destroy America?” “What do the predators all have in common?” “What's the single best thing that can be done to stop them?” “When we cut through all the distractions, what's right in front of our eyes?” Join us with our friend Steve Miller. It's August 21, 1982, and Dave and Milt are back in the Time Machine, swimming in the Billboard Top 10 like it's the world's most awkward pool party. Chicago is apologizing all over the place with “Hard to Say I'm Sorry,” Fleetwood Mac is politely asking you to “Hold Me,” and Survivor is still living off that “Eye of the Tiger” Rocky money. Along the way, we detour into soda-related TikTok challenges (yes, apparently Sprite is dangerous now), celebrity death news (spoiler: not good news), and listener emails that range from insightful to “are you sure you hit send on the right show?” You'll also get trivia, remakes, a live “Kids in America” cameo from Billy Joe Armstrong, and a heated swap-out session where we boot some Top 10 squatters in favor of better songs from the same era. We break down Chicago's yacht-rock-adjacent apology, Fleetwood Mac's post-breakup awkward magic, and Steve Miller's “Abracadabra” (spoiler: it's about bras). Then it's all Mellencamp all the time—his name changes, his childhood surgery, his failed acting gigs, and yes, the time Mark Wahlberg tried to rap “Hurt So Good” for reasons unknown to mankind. By the time we get to “Eye of the Tiger,” we've covered Paul Anka swing covers, the movie Swingers (which is not about what you think), and every ridiculous tangent your mother warned you about. We close with some song swaps, listener feedback, and a reflection on how the early '80s somehow made both syrupy ballads and aggressive workout anthems coexist on the same chart without anyone's head exploding. Decoding the Hidden Messages: Exploring Song Lyrics and Current Events Welcome to a special Tuesday edition of Right on Radio, where we delve into a fascinating array of topics ranging from song lyrics to geopolitical conspiracies. We kick off with a listener-favorite segment where we compare two powerful verses from the Bible—Psalm 119:93 and John 8:12—and explore how they interconnect to enlighten and uplift. As the episode unfolds, we offer a critique of a recent media frenzy, highlighting what seems to be a false flag operation and dissecting the suspicious patterns in its coverage. Our critique isn't just about the event, but about what it signifies in the landscape of mainstream media era. Additionally, we uncover the hidden meanings behind a classic tune, "Jungle Love" by Steve Miller, exploring its symbolic connotations and why it resonates differently now, especially given the intriguing personal connections of the artist, Steve Miller. The discussion takes a broader turn as we cover significant current events, including the shutdown of Steve Miller's tour due to climatic disasters and the unsettling financial regulations in Canada compared to global standards. We also speculate on rising global weather catastrophes and their long-term implications. In an unexpected twist, we even touch upon the clandestine ties that bind political figures and media executives, unveiling well-hidden relationships that echo the eerie depths of organized influence. Join us as we unravel the interconnectedness of politics, media, and music, bringing to light what often remains obscured and untouched by the conventional viewpoints. Poor old Johnnie Ray.Actually, I wonder what the heart wrenching vocal superstar of the fifties made of his starring role in the biggest selling single of 1982, thirty years after his own chart topping run? Did anyone ever ask how he felt watching the footage of his younger self in the video for Come On Eileen intertwined with Kevin's dungaree festooned Emerald Express on a London street corner. Perhaps, as he was famous for doing, he cried. I hope Mr Rowland at least sent him a thank you note. So, welcome back to 1982!Were you there in those now gone days of pop perfection? Did you dance in the ra-ra skirt to Duran Duran at the school disco? Did you shed a tear as The Jam called it a day on the new Channel Four pop weekly The Tube, even though Paul knew well(er) what the next chapter held for his newly formed council. Or perhaps the Smash Hits of over forty years ago exist for you in playlists and radio schedules discovered since. Either way, the NOW Yearbook (and Extra volume) welcomes you with a neon smile to bring together over 140 hits, memories, misses and otherwise that sum up a stellar twelve months of pop. And as 1981's steely electronic winter defrosted, a new pop was emerging. Duran, Spandau, Culture, Club, Wham!, Haircut 100 and a dazzling cast of many more were turning the colour back up on their (three channel) TV sets. Whilst the technology that gloriously gave us the new romantic sounds of 1981 was still driving the decade forward, suddenly we were taking ourselves, well, a bit less seriously. Pop was fun again as seen in the ever evolving, cheerleading extravaganza that was Top of The Pops. The charts were indeed alive to the possibilities of much more. Trevor Horn's hit production machine was digitising our delights with the sounds of ABC, Dollar and even the Appalachian hip-hop of Malcolm McLaren's Buffalo Gals. Seventies survivors such as Hot Chocolate, Roxy Music, ABBA, Marvin Gaye and others were upping their game and embracing - gasp - synthesisers! And you know what, it was sounding and looking (thanks to glossy videos) AMAZING.And across the pond in the US of A? Well, we were importing them our own brand of fabulous pop and they were sending us ROCK in the form of Steve Miller, Survivor and J Geils - but even that was, well, shiny and new. What was indeed going on?To quote Smash Hits (snip!) editor David Hepworth, there were, he said, “no patterns” to pop in 1982. Join chief editor of electrictyclub.co.uk Chi Ming Lai and author of 1984: The Year Pop Went Queer Ian Wade as we dive back into a fascinating twelve months of pop as chronicled in the NOW Yearbook 1982. Amongst many other things, discover which star(s) were upsetting the Musician's Union, find out more about the language of Smash Hits and how we need it more than ever, why old was the new New, learn about the NEXT BIG genre that you need in your life (Elegant Futurism!), why Germany was giving us EVERYTHING, and discover what Haysi Fantaysee were really up to on TOTP (if you dare!).The 1982 Yearbook - Hi Fidelity indeed! In this week's Words & Numbers, Ant and James tackle the misunderstood world of corporate stock buybacks—are they economic malpractice or just savvy business? The duo then pivots to publicly funded media, taking aim at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and questioning its continued reliance on taxpayer dollars in an age of abundant private alternatives. They also examine the federal government's rare (and tiny) budget surplus in June, dissecting whether it's a meaningful trend or a statistical blip. Along the way, Steve Miller cancels his tour for baffling reasons, Trump forgets he appointed Powell, and the guys reflect on why government tax revenue stubbornly sticks to 18% of GDP—no matter the policy. Jeffrey Epstein's right-hand woman, Ghislaine Maxwell, is reportedly prepared to reveal the truth to Congress about the Epstein case. This comes days after the DOJ and FBI closed the book on the case. One has to ask, was this all part of the plan? Or is Ghislaine really about to blow the lid off this closed case? Next, Steve Miller just confirmed that the Biden administration was trafficking children across the United States border from Mexico, reporting that hundreds of thousands of children went missing because of the administration. When will justice prevail, and when will these children be located? Later, we hit on the latest, like Trump's journey to Camp Mystic, the horrific shooting that happened over the weekend at a Kentucky church, and much more. All this and more on today's Untamed.

Steve Miller music has a depth greater than his career-defiining Greatest Hits 1974-1978 album. That's what I think. In 1966, he formed the Steve Miller Blues Band. They backed Chuck Berry on his Live at Fillmore Auditorium album, released that year. In 1968, Miller released the psychedelic blues album, Children of the Future. The Joker, from 1973, found him getting radio airplay, and the title song reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Miller followed up with Fly Like an Eagle in 1976 and Book of Dreams in 1977 (The songs were recorded at the same time) with a ton of hit singles, including "Fly Like an Eagle", "Rock'n Me", "Take the Money and Run", "Jet Airliner", and "Jungle Love". In 1978, Greatest Hits 1974–78 was released, featuring the big hits from those two albums. It has sold 15 million copies as of 2025. Huge. What was Steve Miller before those albums? And after? Classic rock radio plays nearly everything off the Greatest Hits record, but most play little else, and that's not good stewardship of Miller's catalog. Let's see what else the Gangster of Love has recorded, released, and even gotten some radio play with that we love.
Hold on tight for another topic that stirs the pot for some, fresh off the back of talking bear hunting we're sitting down with Steve Miller and Larry Harvey of Save Rodman Reservoir. A Brief overview would be that Rodman reservoir was built in 1968 when the Kirkpatrick dam was built across the Ocklawaha river as part of the larger cross Florida Barge Canal Project. Some would like to see the dam breached and some would like to see the reservoir stick around myself included but we're all free to have our own opinions but let's hear it from the Save Rodman side. Marc and Seth delve into the last Steve Miller Band song they'll ever do..... maybe. The Joker by Steve Miller Band is a self-referential nightmare with made-up words that were stolen from other songs that made up words AND nearly a whole verse that was stolen. And all for.... THIS?
Dr. Steve Miller believes that deathbed experiences provide stronger evidence for supernaturalism than the traditional arguments for God. While Near-death experiences have gotten much press lately, little discussion has paid to power of deathbed experiences.
