What is the impact of the arts around the world? During this mini-series, we are diving into conversations focused on the global impact of the arts. I am honored to have Keith and Kathy Thibodeaux joining me for part eight of this series! Keith and Kathy are the Founders and Directors of Ballet Magnificat!, an arts organization dedicated to presenting the good news of Jesus Christ to the whole world. Kathy was born in Memphis, TN, but trained and has lived in Jackson, MS, most of her life. She went on to become one of the first contracted dancers for the Jackson Ballet Company (Ballet Mississippi) under the direction of Thalia Mara, dancing as principal until 1986. In 1982, Kathy was awarded a silver medal for her performance at the II USA International Ballet Competition (IBC), where she premiered her solo piece, “We Shall Behold Him.” Her desire to use her God-given talent of dance to share her faith in Jesus Christ led Kathy to resign from Ballet Mississippi and found her own company, Ballet Magnificat!, in 1986.Keith is the former child entertainer best known as “Little Ricky” on the I Love Lucy television series and Johnny Paul Jason on The Andy Griffith Show. He was a drummer for the rock band David and the Giants which later became a groundbreaking Christian rock band, with Keith becoming a Christian in 1974. Keith shares about the dramatic life transformation he experienced–from hitting rock bottom to discovering fullness of life in Jesus.Together, Keith and Kathy have taken steps of faith, trusting God along their adventurous journey! Since founding Ballet Magnificat! in 1986, the organization has grown to include a Trainee Program, a School of the Arts, and most recently Ballet Magnificat! Brazil. I loved hearing about some of the pivotal moments for Keith and Kathy, lessons they've learned in leadership, and how God has sustained them over the years. We also chat about the impact of dance across cultures. My guest broke into show business at the ripe old age of 3, playing the drums. He became known as Little Ricky on the classic TV show I Love Lucy, but developed a career as a musician. We discuss his career, how he dealt with difficulties in his life, how he has pulled himself together to be happy and productive, and much more.
Tread Perilously's crossover month concludes where superheroes and sitcoms collide -- an episode of I Love Lucy called "Lucy and Superman." Little Ricky and his best friend, Stevie, will soon celebrate their birthdays, but Lucy and Stevie's mother enter an arms race to see who can throw the better party. Stevie's mother hires a clown and magician. Strapped for ideas, Lucy gets Ricky to reach out to Superman, a TV star they met while visiting Los Angeles. But when the Man of Steel initially turns down the offer to appear, Lucy takes it upon herself to become the Last Son of Krypton. Will her hare-brained scheme work or will the Man of Tomorrow come to her rescue? Erik and Justin accept I Love Lucy's premise that Superman is a real celebrity who is both super-powered and a TV star. They also "'splain" the premise of the original three-camera sitcom. Both Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz are praised for their pioneering efforts. Their children, less so. Erik reveals the meaning of I Love Lucy to him, which differs greatly for Justin. Nikita Khrushchev's plan to create a Soviet Superman is revealed. Justin once again stumps for Hollywoodland. Erik tries to remember all the men who played Superman and Chris Knight continues to evolve into the devil.

There's no timeline for Hannah. Knowing her, she's forgotten it's even 1972. A cross-country trip that could have easily taken a week or two to complete has her on the road bouncing from place to place for a few months now. She rarely thinks about the man she shot and killed back home, and when he does cross her mind, there's no inkling of remorse. She'd tell you the gentleman had it coming, and he should have kept his hands off the boy. Little Ricky does, however, appear in her thoughts, and Hannah wonders if she truly set him free. The recollections force the talkative red-headed wanderer to ponder her own sense of freedom. Hannah would stop off at every exit if she could because she's constantly afraid she'll miss out on some unusual sight or a good story from a local. Of course, her idea of a good story is listening for a few seconds and then taking over the conversation for several minutes outside of a laundromat or greasy spoon. Sometimes she'll find temporary work in a small town long enough to acquire enough cash to move on to the next and eventually make it to the West Coast. About the time she makes a couple of friends who don't mind her taking over the discussion, she packs up what few clothes she owns and disappears. One boy asked Hannah to marry him after about three days a few hundred miles back east. It's not her fault men get lost in those deep aqua eyes and decide that popping the question is reasonable. She politely told the young man she's only interested in older gents but neglected to mention she'd turned down a guy ten years her senior several weeks before. She left him thinking younger bucks were more her speed. Hannah knows exactly what she's after, and it has nothing to do with male hormones leading a charge down the aisle anytime soon. When the time is right, she figures that her ideal mate will take time to peel back her layers, and she doesn't mean clothing. Hannah has her share of demons hopping around inside of her skull. She tells everyone she left home to pursue her dreams, but the reality is she simply decided to run. Folks do it every day, and it never takes long to figure out that fleeing yourself is next to impossible. Old thoughts and lingering poison flowing in and out of the heart rarely dissipate until they're faced head-on. Hannah takes pride in labeling herself a problem solver, and she's assisted more than one lost soul in her lifetime. But a reflection is quick to remind Hannah her greatest asset is also her most significant obstacle. Helping herself isn't part of her agenda for now, and hopefully, that epiphany won't strike her too late. For now, Hannah is happy listening to her John Denver eight-track over and over as she coasts down the interstate scoping out each exit, wondering if the stop holds her next adventure. She finds peace in providing long-winded answers to any stranger who'll hear her words. The solutions to her own questions drift further away with each passing second her foot presses the accelerator. If Hannah knew what to ask herself, she would have stayed home where she was supposed to be. Instead, she's caught somewhere on a long road chasing invisible goals that'll lead her to a familiar place a little too late. Then again, sometimes opportunity has a way of offering up a second chance to lost spirits like Hannah. Maybe she'll have a long conversation with the mirror before it's too late to go home.

With October 15th being National “I Love Lucy” Day and the 60th anniversary of the sitcom, actor Keith Thibodeaux, who played “Little Ricky” on the legendary series, joins Steve on air. Together they discuss how he originally got on the show, his first time meeting Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, and more!
Keith Thibodeaux, who played Little Ricky, shares memories of working on the series, his relationship with Desi and Lucy, meeting Superman, and life after the series ended.
The hosts chat with child actor and ‘Little Ricky' on I Love Lucy, Keith Thibodeaux. Keith was beloved as the son of Lucy and Ricky Ricardo on the much loved program and later, went on to play Johnny Paul Jason on The Andy Griffith Show. Keith started his career at a very young age playing drums professionally at only 3 years old traveling and eventually getting the role that changed his life. He discusses his time on the show, his relationships with Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz and their children. Most importantly, Keith discusses the huge role God plays in his life since becoming a born again Christian, meeting his wife, playing with his band (David and the Giants), forgiving his father and mending that relationship and opening up a ballet school dedicated to dancing for Christ. Truly an inspiring story from a man who went through a lost patch and came out the other side with grace. WGN Radio's Dave Plier pays tribute to TV legend Lucille Ball on what would have been her 110th birthday by sharing his interview with the only living cast remember remaining from ‘I Love Lucy', Keith Thibodeaux, who played ‘Little Ricky'.
Today's podcast is edited from an older interview aired originally on Bob's broadcast show back in the year 2011. Keith Thibodeaux, known to millions as Little Ricky from the classic television sitcom, I Love Lucy, recalls his days in show business, his conversion to Christianity, and the founding of a Christian ballet company, Ballet Magnificat. NOTE FROM […]
When a rich actor who was born with "Silver Spoons" on his resume, he can do what he wants, right? Just ask "Little Ricky" Schroder who pitched a whing-ding fit in Costco over wearing a mask. When a robber steals from a bakery, the baker gets help tracking him down by putting the fugitive's picture on cookies & giving them away! And when you show up for court on a Zoom call, you'd better check your username so the judge won't rip you a new one. Keith was a child prodigy who began playing the drums at the age of two, and started his career touring at the age of 4 and eventually was cast for the role of “Little Ricky” on the I Love Lucy Show, in part, due to his God given abilities to play the drums. After the show ended and his parents divorced, he began to search for truth and identity in sex, drugs and rock n' roll. God answered his desperate call for intervention through a vision with Jesus Christ after being slain in the spirit. He has since went on to magnify the Lord and lead others to HIs kingdom through his band, David and the Giants and him and his wife's dance company, Ballet Magnificat. We talk about his relationship with Lucy, Desi and their children, his conversion experience, pioneering christian rock, forgiving his father, battling with depression, and much more! Tread Perilously continues sci-fi month with the pilot episode of Automan. Walter Nebicher is a new form of law enforcement. He uses computers where the rest of the LAPD use their pistols and intimidation techniques. But because Nebicher is a whiz with computers and holograms, he creates Automan -- a different kind of cop. An amalgam of Hollywood hunks like Burt Reynolds and Christopher Reeve with the crime-solving capacities of Sherlock Holmes and James Bond, he can create hard light holograms, walk through walls, and even take Nebicher for a ride or two. And it's a good thing he figured out how to appear since LAPD Lt. Jack Curtis has been abducted by private military contractors. This show was produced in 1983, why do you ask? Erik and Justin dissect the screen persona of Desi Arnaz Jr. They also try to recast Walter Nebicher and imagine how Arnaz's own father turned him down for the Little Ricky role on I Love Lucy. Chuck Wagner ends up the MVP. Co-star Heather McNair gets compared -- perhaps unfairly -- to Heather Locklear, Heather Thomas, and Rebecca DeMornay. Erik tries to determine the origin of the phrase "automatic man." Also, a discussion of the James Bond film Moonraker breaks out.
Are there no tree removal services in Cabot Cove? Is a pilgrim dress the 3rd piece in a suit? How did Adam's rep survive after the toaster-tech attack of 1985? And will Jonas be able to find love at the bus station again? Ghosts for hire, rock-star exorcists and fire hazards causing anxiety? Calm down, Little Ricky's on the case for Fire Burn, Cauldron Bubble!

From "I Love Lucy," Keith Thibodeux (Little Ricky) talks about the show and Lucille Ball!
People are having a hard time canceling their gym memberships. The House of Prime Rib reopens today in San Francisco. Rent in the Bay Area takes a nose-dive, Keith Thibodeux, Little Ricky, from "I Love Lucy" talks about the show.
You can't miss this Sound Behavior episode 027 with child actor/musician, Keith Thibodeaux. If you watched any TV during the mid to late 1950's & 60's you would recognize him as "Little Ricky" on I Love Lucy or Opie's friend "Johnny Paul Jason" on the The Andy Griffith Show. Keith Thibodeaux, also known as Richard Keith, is an American former child actor and musician, best known for playing Little Ricky on the television sitcoms I Love Lucy and The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour. He was billed as Richard Keith because his Cajun French last name, "Thibodeaux", was considered too difficult to pronounce by producer Desi Arnaz. He is the last living regular appearing cast member from I Love Lucy.

This is the tragic story of Little Ricky Morehouse, III. It was a dark and clear Saturday night that March 3, 2001. Shortly after Rick Morehouse, Jr. arrived home from working the late shift, Harlan, Iowa police officer Kevin Petty knocked on the Morehouse’s door. The officer informed Rick that there had been a fire at the home of Rachel Page—the biological mother to Rick’s twin sons—and one of his son’s was dead. What everyone initially thought was a terrible accident would become a pieced-together sequence of events that would be debated for years. That sequence of events and the evidence collected at the scene of the fire will paint a picture you won’t soon forget. As you listen, remember: There are three sides to every story—mine, yours, and the truth. And sometimes, you simply don’t get to know the whole truth.Join our Facebook Group, Kentucky Fried Cousins (Cause we're all family here!): https://www.facebook.com/groups/kyfriedcousins/For additional show notes, go to: https://kentuckyfriedhomicide.com/there-are-three-sides-to-every-story-the-tragic-death-of-little-ricky-morehouse/

It's the only family with 3 generations to hit the charts. Gunnar and Matthew Nelson will be appearing at the Fargo Theatre to feature the music and life stories of their father Ricky Nelson. Before the Nelson family came to fame in the TV comedy "Ozzie and Harriet", their grandfather was an orchestra leader and their mother sang with them before they got married. Little Ricky and big brother David came along and the TV show was born which often feature Ricky with his music. Now Ricky's twin sons who have been playing music for over 30 years, will appear at the Fargo Theatre with video, stories, and real life experiences about their father and his music. Matthew gave us an update on his family including their actress sister Tracie, their late uncle David and his mother's side of the family, the Harmon's of sports and acting fame. Welcome to the Succotash experience, Epi 83. And we’ve got a show chock full of the stuff that you download and/or stream us for: Clips. That's right. Comedy podcast clips from all over the place with not a single interview to sully the mix. Most of the clips in this episode were provided by Associate Producer Tyson Saner. My wife and I have been in the process of moving for what seems like weeks and so Tyson has been up there at the top of the great dam of the Comedy Reservoir all by himself and he’s let the clips you’re going to hear today get through. Speaking of Tyson, he got a little shout out from our buddies Dean Haglund and Phil Leirness over at the Chillpak Hollywood Hour last week. So I took the time to snip you that clip myself, as well as a couple of others that you're going to hear this show. We, as usual, also offer you our Burst O' Durst segment from cultural comedian Will Durst. And we have a Henderson's Pants ad for their new Ransom Pants. The 10 Most Active Show in Stitcher's Top 100 Comedy Podcast List Last episode I pretty much skipped this feature because there simply wasn’t that much action on the Stitcher Top 100 in terms of shows moving up or down. This week’s pretty sluggish as well, but there was some movement on the charts… AT MOVED 16. Duncan Trussell Family Hour +525. DeathSquad +537. Off The Air – Chick McGee +543. Fitzdog Radio -546. SModcast >> Edumacation +755. Alison Rosen is Your New Best Friend -658. This Week In Blackness Radio -868. Improv for Humans w/Matt Besser +685. The Dana Gould Hour +3487. New York City Crime Report with Pat Dixon +42 Happy to report that ol’ Succotash is on our way back UP the Stitcher charts after last week’s dreadful score, which was at #9465. This week we’re up 1,977 places to #7488. Thanks for Amazonin' Through Us! As I mention in this episode, we've started getting some lovely little checks form Amazon because some of youSuccotashianshave been using banner ad at the top of our SuccotashShow.com homesite to get ot Amazon to do your shopping. When you do that, they kicks up back a little buckage and that's been helping us to defray a few costs. Please feel free to keep right on doing it! The Clips Screams And MoansFaithful Succotash listener Megan M. (aka @PodcastWhore) has kicked off her own podcast. "Screams And Moans is about movies and sex but not together, as that would be porn," according to a note I got from Megan. She says that every episode is different with a different guest co-host, a different film and a different listener question/topic related to more carnal matters. One of the things she loves most about her show and the format is that she gets to meet a variety of interesting and creative people. Folks featured in the clip we have include Sassy from The Most Popular Girls on the Internet, Bonn from the Bonn and Obo Show, Nigel Boydell from HMS Codcast/Uncle Arthur's Bollocks Collection, Davian Dent from The Bitter Sound and Dr. Norman Trousers from the Casa Mirth podcast. Steve Agee UhhhI’ve been hearing Steve Agee on podcasts for awhile now but, until Tyson Saner sent this clip along this week, I had no idea he not only has a podcast – called Steve Agee Uhhh but he had a previous podcast that had about 50 episodes – he mentions that fact in this clip, with his guest actress Juliette Lewis who, up until this visit, had never been on a podcast. Getting Doug with HighTyson grabbed a hunk from the audio version of Doug Benson's LIVE videocast, Getting Doug With High. Every episode he finds interesting people and celebrities and smokes it out with them while talking about issues of the day. In this clip he’s with legendary stoner Tommy Chong of Cheech & Chong and comedian Kyle Kinane. NSF WatercoolersThis next clip is from a show called NSF Watercoolers (or Not Safe For Watercoolers). Apologies. I have no idea who the people are on this show. I could find nothing on the several websites for the show which I looked at, which summons forth one of my pet peeves in podcasting – my PPPs, if you will: How hard is it to put out a little information on your homesite? However, the blurb on their site says “All the Film, TV, Music, and Pop Culture info you need to attack that next watercooler moment with confidence.” Down With Joe DerosaOne of the newest podcasts by a comedian is Down With Joe Derosa, and he brings a very simple straight-forward show concept with him: One guest, one topic. In the clip we have, he reunions with his former co-host from a radio show and podcast called Uninformed, who is none other the host of the Monday Morning Podcast, Bill Burr. The topic in play? Anger Management. Ari Shaffir’s Skeptic TankThis podcast is consistently in Stitcher’s Top 100 Comedy Podcasts as well as always up in the hot downloads on iTunes. Comedian Ari Shaffir usually has fellow comics on with him to talk about all sorts of topics. For instance, in his Epi147, entitled “Closet Case” he has Kevin Meaney on and one of the central points of their conversation is having Kevin talk about what it was like to come out of the closet at the age of 50. In this clip, they’re covering some ground about how he didn’t seem to have much motivation towards comedy or much else in his teen years. Dave & Crow ShowDarren Staley is back in the podcasting game, along with new partner Dave Simmons. They're just getting started with their random subject chat show. In fact, I'm pulling this clip from Epi2, in which Darren has a bit of a tirade about lanyards. Ice-T Final LevelLast week we got a note in the Tweetsack suggesting we give a listen to Ice-T's new podcast, Final Level. The father of gangsta rap has conquered music, movies, TV and now, along with co-host Mick Benzo, has entered the podcasting arena. Welcome, Ice-T. Glad to have you aboard. Not sure what he’s doing constitutes a comedy podcast but when Ice-T asks you to play a clip, you play a mutha fuckin’ clip. Film FandangoI featured a clip from Do The Right Thing, the English panel show, a couple of episodes ago, on the recommendation of our friend @Good_Podcasts, who then suggested that we give a listen to Film Fandango, which supposedly features Rachel Ward from Do The Right Thing, along with David Reed and Marek Larwood. They talk about movies, as you can tell by the title but, oddly, in the clip we grabbed from Epi118, Rachel Ward doesn’t seem to be part of the mix… NetHeadsWill Wilkins is the technical wizard who keeps Smodcast Internet Radio running smoothly. And he also co-hosts a live show on the SModcast Internet Radio called NetHeads with Trent Hunsaker. I’ve met Will at last year’s Stitcher Awards because he’s located in the Bay Area so he shows up to pick up any awards the SModcast wins there. He was at THIS year’s awards, too, sporting a pair of Google Glasses. This clip is from a segment of their recent "Best Of, Really?" episode that features regular listener/contributor "Francis" whose speciality is Golden Age Comic books. Squarehead KidsOur next clip comes from The Squarehead Kids, a big ol’ barrel full of podcast hosts including Frank, Jay, Big Daddy Deck, Little Ricky and the Good Doctor, PLUS their assorted guests. It’s a bit of a clusterchat but they manage to keep their free-ranging conversation more or less together… That’s it. We’re done. Epi83 is finito and I’m outta here until next time when we SHOULD have Greg Fitzsimmons as our special guest. Remember to go see him this week at the Punchline in San Francisco if you're in the Bay Area. In the meantime, be good to each other, shop at Amazon through the banner at SuccotashShow.com, and please remember, no matter where you go or what you do, to pass the Succotash. — Marc Hershon
