    Ivy Insights

The FAITH + FITNESS Podcast by FAITH RXD is an incredible podcast that combines my two favorite things - faith and fitness. Hosted by Lindsey, the podcast features stories and testimonials from individuals who have found a way to align their passion for CrossFit with their love for Jesus. Lindsey's interviewing skills are remarkable, as she asks thought-provoking questions that truly get to the heart of each person's journey and their connection to God.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is the variety of stories and testimonies shared. Each episode features a different individual with a unique perspective on how their faith intertwines with their fitness journey. From professional athletes to everyday gym-goers, there is something relatable for everyone. It is truly inspiring to hear these individuals share their vulnerabilities and experiences, which allows listeners to feel a sense of community and encouragement in pursuing both physical and spiritual wellness.

Another great aspect of this podcast is its ability to provide a breath of fresh air from the chaos of the world. In a society where materialistic values often take precedence, The FAITH + FITNESS Podcast reminds listeners of what truly matters - living for Jesus. The content is uplifting, encouraging, and serves as a reminder that we can find purpose in our fitness journeys by using them as opportunities to glorify God. It provides a unique perspective on how our physical bodies can be used as vessels for His work.

While this podcast is undeniably amazing, there is one minor issue that some may find problematic - the audio quality during the intro segment. The beeping at the beginning tends to be significantly louder than the voices, which can be jarring when listening with headphones or turning up the volume to hear better. However, this small flaw does not detract from the overall quality of the podcast or its message.

In conclusion, The FAITH + FITNESS Podcast by FAITH RXD is an absolute gem for anyone who loves Jesus or CrossFit, or even both. It beautifully combines these two passions and provides a powerful listening experience. The stories shared are vulnerable, relatable, and inspiring, reminding listeners of the importance of living for Jesus in all aspects of life. I am grateful for this podcast and the impact it has had on my faith journey. Thank you to Lindsey and the team at FAITH RXD for creating such an incredible platform to share these testimonies.

Josh Hong is an athlete that broke onto the competitive CrossFit scene at the Granite Games this year and made a huge impression on our staff. He is sold out for Christ and unashamedly lives out his faith. There was a pivotal moment during the snatch event where things didn't go the way he planned, and he dropped to his knees afterwards to surrender the moment to the Lord and learn from it.    There's a lot coming down the pipeline and going to be announced in the coming weeks so make sure you're subscribed to our newsletter, if you're not, you can sign up on our website www.faithrxd.org, or be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook and tap the bell icon in the upper right hand corner of our profile to turn on notifications for our posts and stories. But that didn't stop her from reaching the highest level of our sport, the CrossFit Games, in 2021. Not many people would have the grace or perspective that Delaney has at only 16. In her eyes, the presence of Type 1 Diabetes in her life is a good thing and she praise God for the ways he's used it to bless others.    We wish we had kept recording, because after we were done, Lindsey and Delaney continued discussing life and their relationships with the Lord. Delaney shared, “I want to be passionate about living and about who he made me to be. Isaac will tell you, he's just a regular guy, but a regular guy that is facing something that is all to common- anxiety. His battle has been debilitating at times, but because of the Lord, he's found victory in living with it. He's written a book called The Exodus Problem that shares his journey and the encouragement he's leaned on in Scripture and his community. His desire is for this book to encourage others in a similar situation in life.   In his book he shares: “Deliverance is not automatic, and it doesn't come easily. I was asking God to deliver me from a major stronghold in my life, and I also had it all worked out in my head just how God was going to deliver me. Images of Jesus healing the lame, causing the blind to see, and raising people from the dead filled my mind, and I began to see myself just waking up one day and everything is gone. The tormenting anxious thoughts, the dark clouds of depression I would feel on and off every day, and the debilitating pain, everything…just gone! As convenient as that would have been, it just didn't work out that way for me. My desire to be delivered required me to take steps of faith that were beyond my comfort zone. It required me to push myself harder and to go further than I was capable of going. It was a journey that was impossible for me to complete on my own strength, but it wasn't impossible for God.”   Our next True Strength Camp is happening in Waukesha, WI! Something you won't hear us talk about publicly is the work of FAITH RXD members in closed countries. What closed means is that Christianity is not welcomed there and people who spread the Gospel are persecuted. Scott is not one of our missionaries, but we have other men and women, like Scott, that are using their fitness to access countries they otherwise would not be able to. In our conversation today, Tasia exhibits a heavenly perspective of life and is experiencing the comfort that comes when we act out of obedience and trust God with the outcomes.    It's really easy to get caught up in trying to control outcomes because we have an earthly and human perspective. But as believers, we're called to have a heavenly perspective. We go through things that will never make sense from a human standpoint, but from a heavenly standpoint make all the sense in the world. Those details aren't always ours to know while we're here. We have a choice to either get wrapped up in the unknown, or just surrender it all to God and go about living for him, trusting that he's got it figured out, and living with the relief of knowing we don't have to.   Heaven is going to be awesome. And if we realized how awesome it's going to be, we wouldn't waste our time trying to force life to make sense the way we want it to. We are literally incapable of coming up with something as awesome as heaven.   It's a great episode.
