The Score podcast delivers a powerful and eye-opening experience for music educators and anyone interested in education as a whole. The hosts, Eric Jimenez and Justin McLean, tackle important topics such as diversity, inclusivity, and the intersection of music and education. Their conversations are filled with wisdom, insight, and a genuine love for their work.

One of the best aspects of The Score podcast is its ability to address relevant issues in music education from a broad perspective. Jimenez and McLean interview top minds in the field and provide listeners with valuable insights on how to better connect with students, create inclusive classrooms, and make a positive impact on their communities. The episodes are well-researched, thought-provoking, and provide practical tips for implementation in the classroom.

Another strength of this podcast is its ability to create empathy and understanding among educators. It encourages them to see their students as individuals with unique experiences, backgrounds, and needs. By emphasizing the importance of acknowledging students' humanity and building meaningful connections with them, Jimenez and McLean inspire listeners to approach their teaching with compassion and intentionality.

While it's difficult to find any negative aspects of The Score podcast, one minor drawback could be that some episodes may not directly apply to all music educators. However, even if certain topics or situations don't align perfectly with an individual's teaching context or experience level, there is still much to gain from listening to these discussions. The universal principles discussed can be adapted and applied in various educational settings.

In conclusion, The Score podcast is an invaluable resource for music educators seeking inspiration, guidance, and a better understanding of how they can positively impact their students' lives through music education. Jimenez and McLean's passion shines through each episode as they strive to expand the reach of music education while fostering an inclusive learning environment for all students. This podcast is a must-listen for anyone involved in education.

In the summer of 2005, Mr. Rivera was recruited by Wenatchee School District to lead an already established Mariachi program. Although the decision to leave his home state was tough he was excited about the possibilities.  In the 17 years with Wenatchee, he tripled the program and established a strong middle school Mariachi program as well as providing students with unique and impactful experiences such as trips to colleges and universities, performances with artists such as Garth Brooks, and interactions with leaders like Dolores Huerta. In 2020 Mr. Rivera took his 20+ years of experience to Mount Vernon School District and although the pandemic changed many aspects of teaching for Mr. Rivera it did not change the importance of connecting with students.  Mr. Rivera's ability to adapt and innovate continues to contribute to his many successes and recognitions. It has also provided him with opportunities to serve as a clinician helping other school districts establish their own programs. II List personal honors and awards (excluding students' achievements) 2003 El Concilio de Condado de Ventura Latino Leadership Award for Cultural Arts   2003 Mexican American Political Forum of Ventura County Diego de            Barboza Musical Excellence 2009   Numerica Credit Union School Champion Award  2009   Human and Civil Rights Award from the Washington Education Association  2012   Olympic Torch Bearer World Harmony Award  2012   Outstanding Latino Educators Fiesta Mexicana of WeSupport the showConnect with us on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram: @podthescoreEmail: podthescore@gmail.com | The Score Podcast WebsiteSupport The Score on Patreon or PaypalMusic Credits:Intro: Justin McLean In Rotation & Outro: Ben Bohorquez - @jamin_music
