Lex finally has Superman where he wants him. So, he starts monologuing about how he did it. Much to his surprise it is Martian Manhunter. The League has enough to put him away, but they must catch him first. During his getaway attempt, he suffers a seizure, and immediately Superman is concerned and rushes him to a hospital where the doctor tells him he has poisoned his blood from carrying the Kryptonite all these years. There is no cure. In prison, Lex is struggling under the weight of the thought of death, the music choices of the Ultra-Humanite, and the fact he can't get his revenge on Superman. He comes up with a plan and he and Humanite escape.  Lex gathers his version of the Legion of Doom (Cheetah, Star Sapphire, The Shade, Grundy, Copperhead, Ultra-Humanite and even the Joker). They stage a hostage situation to draw the Justice League. The battle ensues and eventually the League gets the upper hand, but not before Batman is bit by Copperhead. While he recovers, the rest of the League try to find Lex. Batman has tracked them but is outwitted by Joker and gets captured. Lex's condition is getting worse. So Humanite gives him a chest piece that negates the poison. The Legion tries in vain to take out the Watchtower, but a traitor in their midst, leaks info to help the League find the bomb. The League comes to rescue Batman. But it seems he didn't need it. He was bringing down the Legion from within by turning the members against each other. The Legion members flee and Lex is captured. Ultra-Humanite's deal with Batman was that money would be donated in his name to PBS to sponsor the opera programming he loves.   Contact Information: If you want to join in the discussion, you can submit feedback via email to TomorrowsLegendsPodcast@gmail.com or at at https://www.speakpipe.com/TomorrowsLegends . Did you know that villains like the Ultra-Humanite, Mordru, and the Injustice Society were not the biggest challenges the Justice Society of America ever faced? It was actually John McCarthy and the McCarthy Trials. Once heroes that were inspirations throughout World War II, become targets in the world of McCarthyism. It is with great sadness that we come to the series finale of Stargirl. True to the series, the action wrapped up early. The rest of the episode was split between the wrap of in the current day and an epilouge 10 years in the future. Ratings between our three hosts are split. Harley & xforce liked the finale, but Flash did not. But we had some great discussion and listener feedback. Icicle needed Starman's face and good public image to be the face of the new ISA plan. So Dragon King, Ultra-Humanite, and Icicle revive him and put his brain in a jar and then do the swap. Cameron lures Courtney and the JSA to Zeke's junkyard. We get a showdown between the Icicle family, the Ultra-Humanite Starman and the JSA. Things are not going to go well until S.T.R.I.P.E. & Pat show up. He made it out of the grave and ruins Icicle's plans. Battle ensues and we get some great scenes and special effects. Courtney reclaims Cosmo, after some encouragement from Barbara. Pat takes out Starman. Grandma Icicle is taken out and Icicle is run off by Cameron. Cindy, Mike, Jakeem and Thunderbolt take on the Dragon King. In typical Thunderbolt fashion, Dragon King is transformed into a stuffed ape plush. After the battle Rick appoligizes to Beth's parents. Beth makes them her side-kicks. Mike gets to mend fences with his mom and shows his love to Pat & Barbara. Cindy is staying with the Whitmore-Dugan family. Yolanda starts the reconcilliation process with her mom. Courtney gives the Gambler's daughter, Becky, her dad's letter. Then she and Cameron make up. Artemis has tracked Icicle to Denmark. She traps him and burns him alive. We then jump 10 years in the future to the JSA headquarters. Shade is our tourguide and he gives us some of the exploits of the team. The team includes everyone we have seen and a few we have only heard about. The Jay Garrick Flash shows up telling Shade he needs to gather the JSA for a battle.   Contact Information If you want to join in the discussion, you can submit feedback via email to TomorrowsLegendsPodcast@gmail.com. After a quick trip to the golden age of Hollywood, the Waverider is back in Blue Valley. This week was a wild ride! Jordan is still evil. Dragon King is back, but in the Ultra-Humanite's body. Plus Starman is still dead and Ultra-Humanite is in his body! All season long UH Starman has been dividing the JSA and setting them up for defeate. He has push everyone. He now has control over Cosmo and Sylvester's body. He loves acting and is caught up in the roll. We still don't know Icicle & Dragon King's full plans, but with a weaked & divided JSA things do not look good. The Waverider is cloaked in the woods outside of Blue Valley since the Ultra-Humanite is running around. Last we heard of him he was chasing Mike, Jakeem, and Thunderbolt. Cindy was laying traps for him in hopes he could help her with her condition. Mike & Jakeem fill the JSA in on their adventure. Pat & Sylvester share how much of a threat Ultra-Humanite was to the JSA. Courtney says it will take the JSA, Crocks, and even the Mahkents to stop him. Pat & Sylvester have talked to the Granddad and heard about their past and how they need to leave. Gramcicle intimdates Barbara before Paula stops her. The Crocks stand up to the Grandcicles and propose a peace treaty. It looks like they accept. Artemis got into to Nebraska as QB and Crusher and Paula are estatic. But the joy is short lived. The watcher in the sewers lured them in. It seems that the watcher is a re-formed Icicle (as xforce11 called a few weeks ago). He killed both and they die expressing their love for each other.   Contact Information If you want to join in the discussion, you can submit feedback via email to TomorrowsLegendsPodcast@gmail.com. The Waverider made it back to Blue Valley just in time. Pat and Barbara reconnect and discuss how to help Mike in light of what Pat learned in the Shadowlands. Even Crusher is there to encourage Pat.  Courtney and Yolanda talk and they each appoligize to the other. Courtney wants her support in talking with the rest of the JSA. She wants to tell Cameron everything about his dad, the JSA and her secret. The rest of the JSA reluctlantly agrees. But Rick is having major issues thanks to him being Hourman 24/7. His rage is growing and they cannot stop him. The Grandcicles are at odds with eachother. Grandmother Mahkent is angry at Courtney and the JSA for killing her son. She lashes out at her husband, kills the art teacher Mr. Deisinger, and lashes out at Courtney. We have Wildcat verses Grandmother, Dr. Mid-Nite & Sportsmaster II verses Grandad, and Hourman verses Icicle Jr. It was an intense battle and only Grandad Mahkent's advice to Cameron and his heart attack stopped the fight. Meanwhile, Jakeem and Mike, with the help of Thunderbolt, are trying to track town Cindy. They find a farm, but not Cindy. They do find our killer in the shadows, the Ultra-Humanite!   Contact Information If you want to join in the discussion, you can submit feedback via email to TomorrowsLegendsPodcast@gmail.com. I am not a big fan of boy scout type characters, so Superman is not one of my favorites. That may change now that Grant Morrison is taking him in a different direction. I can't wait to see how Superman operates in the gray areas of morality. Publisher Description (W) Grant Morrison (A) Mikel Janin (CA) Bryan Hitch Sometimes even Superman finds a task almost impossible. Sometimes even the Last Son of Krypton needs to enlist help. Some tasks require methods and heroes that don't scream Justice League. So Clark Kent, the Metropolis Marvel, seeks out Manchester Black, the most dastardly of rogues, to form an all-new Authority tasked with taking care of some business on the sly. Not only will Black know the right candidates for the team, but if Superman can make him behave himself and act in service of the greater good, then he'll prove literally anyone can be a hero! They'll have to move quickly, however, as the Ultra-Humanite forms his own team to take out the Man of Steel. This new limited series helps launch an all-new Superman status quo, setting up story elements that reverberate across both Action Comics and Superman: Son of Kal-El in the months to come. And not only is Superman putting together a superstar team, but it takes superstars to tell the tale: Grant Morrison (The Green Lantern, All-Star Superman) and Mikel Janin (Batman, Future State: Superman: Worlds of War)! Greetings, faithful listeners of Tales of the Justice Society of America. This is Superman speaking...or typing as it were. Actually I am doing neither of those things. See I've been a captive of the dastardly and oddly enough hot Ultra-Humanite for some time now and frankly it's getting a little boring here. There is literally nothing to do but watch Deathbolt do his best to try and create the beast with two backs with Ultra (which creeps me out no end) and occasionally tell Ultra that she/he/whatever is going to be defeated somebday. Due to the wacky time travel nature to what is going on I have been able to catch full episodes of Tales and boy do Scott Gardner and Mike Bailey like to hear themselves talk. I tell you...those guys can take any subject and just blather on about it for hours and from what I understand there are those that actually consider this entertaining. I have to admit that I mostly tune out but in their latest episode, the one where they cover All-Star Squadron #25, I found myself totally immersed in what their discussion. Was it their somewhat humorous discussion of the issue itself? No. Was it their discussion of what else was going on in the DC Multiverse when this issue of All-Star Squadron came out? No. So why was I so damned interested. BECAUSE THEY SPENT A GOOD BIT OF THE EPISODE TALKING ABOUT ME! THAT'S WHY! See there was an ad for Superman III movie contest (apparently they make movies about me in the future) and this set them off on a long discussion of the film and just when you think that conversation is over it picks up again. I swear...these guys need to do a Superman podcast together or something. Anyway, enjoy the episode...as much as you can at any rate. Things are somewhat back to normal this week as Scott and Mike once again have control of their posts here at the main page and can stop worrying about super-villains hacking the Libsyn account. For now... Anywho, this week the guys talk about All-Star Squadron #23, which is the first appearance of the truly awesome Amazing-Man! A lot of the discussion centers around A-Man and why he is so cool, but Mike and Scott also discuss their thoughts on Dr. Fate, his whiny wife Inza, and why Deathbolt has such a thing for the Ultra-Humanite. They also talk about something that could possibly be considered... offensive (but that was not the intent of the conversation, so please keep that in mind for that section of the show). There is also late breaking news regarding All-Star Squadron and collected editions, so keep an ear out for that too. Greetings to the puny minded denziens of this thing you call the Internet. My name is the Ultra Humanite and I am the most awesome villain to ever exist. You will all kneel before me and my vast criminal mind! I now posses the Powerstone and... Hey, hey, hey! Stop staring at my chest! Eyes up here, buddy. I may have the bodacious body of a forties era actress (thin waste, big hips, stacked like a brick outhouse) but I am all man in the cranium. So you just keep those dirty thoughts to yourself because I am not interested. ANYWAY... Apparently this is the site that hosts a radio program (or a podcast as you future people call it) that is all about the Justice Society hosted by two gentlemen (and I use the term loosely) named Scott and Michael. After listening to the latest episode I realized that they were talking about me during their discussion of All-Star Squadron #22 and I cannot let their insults go unchallenged. It is true that they discuss how Deathbolt and I soundly defeated Superman and the rest of the All-Stars but they also have the gall to mock me and my criminal genius. Sure I started out my bad guy career forming the Cab Protection League where I tried to force other cab companies out of business but that was just step one in a long and involved plan to take over the world. First the cabbies...then planet Earth! It is as simple as that. I guess Michael and Scott cannot understand such things, especially since they spend most of the episode talking about comic book movies of the past few years and what problems they have had with them. They also discuss how Superman just doesn't get the respect he deserves, which is just wrong. ONE DAY I SHALL HAVE MY REVENGE! UNTIL THEN, LISTEN TO THIS EPISODE AND THEN WRITE IN ABOUT HOW YOU AGREE WITH ME THAT I AM AWESOME AND THEY ARE SILLY!
