Hello Lantern Corps! Hal feels out of his depth and visits his mentor Sinestro for info on Manhunters.  What he gets is a warning to watch and sabotage John Stewart. Lianna tells John the Guardians are done with Hal. John needs to say the oath while wearing the ring to become the Green Lantern. Both men seem set against each other. But they still have a mission in Rushville. John finds Will's building at the center of his operation.  The Weenie, a Disney term for the center of everything that gets built around, is where they think the Manhunter is at.  After consulting Sheriff Kane, they make a nighttime move on the building. John gets the ring, pauses thinking about taking the oath, and then makes a tunneling machine.  The two men get to The Weenie and find no Manhunter, but a lot of advanced tech. Hal sets off an alarm and Will's guards take them out with darkness guns. They are taken to Will. He asserts his power over them. He forces John to draw him nude while Zoe and Hal watch. He tells them that he was dying and the doctors had given up on him, but not Zoe who was nursing him.  The Manhunter healed him. He makes Rushville crops grow, the kids healthy, and everyone for that matter. All that is asked in return is protection. Will tells them to leave town. Zoe comes to John at the hotel. After sleeping with him, she asks him to leave and he refuses. She says she does not owe Will. She healed him.  Revealing that she is the Manhunter. She leaves and is taken out by a satellite. Hal gets the satellite. John, Hal, and Sheriff Kane trace it back the Hector Hammond. At Hector's high tech/Manhunter tech slaughterhouse, they find Hector. He threatens John's family. Hal proves he is not the Manhunter. Hector says it is Will. On the way back, Hal and John hash things out. But in the end Hal listens to Sinestro's advice and sidelines John. Ten years of development, a two billion dollar budget, an 80 hour campaign, and a map three times the size of Red Dead Redemption 2, plus relationship and fitness systems that quietly punish you for neglecting them. Frank says the episode was not aimed at him, and that watching Black viewers respond to it told him more than the episode alone did. The show asks recruits whether they are afraid. The comics, going back to Geoff Johns' 2005 run, ask whether your will can overcome the fear you already have. Frank and Thomas think the show is asking the wrong version on purpose, and that the season is retelling the Rebirth era transition in a grounded way. Jonathan's theory, relayed by Frank: the Guardians are breeding the humanity out of their Lanterns, which is the exact mistake that produced the Manhunters. Thomas ties that to the wiping of sector 666 and to how detached the Guardians are from life on a planet like Earth. The show changed John's military discharge from honorable in the comics to dishonorable, a choice Thomas did not like even though he understands what it adds to the character. GTA 6 arrives November 19 after more than ten years and roughly two billion dollars. The campaign runs about 80 hours before side content, the map is three times the size of Red Dead Redemption 2, and NPC animations jump from 55,000 in GTA 5 to 300,000 in Red Dead 2 to 600,000 here. Rockstar kept the satire but avoided current politics, memes, and trends to keep the game evergreen, and stealing a car now means dealing with alarms, trackers, and block cameras. Jace and Rocky break down all 13 DC releases for the week of September 2, 2026. Batgirl #23 finds Cassandra Cain racing through a Gotham overrun by the Parliament of Trees while badly injured herself, determined to get a poisoned girl to the antidote that can save her life. Rather than advancing the larger Bad Seeds plot, the tie-in keeps the focus on Cassandra and her supporting cast, making the event feel more like the backdrop for a Batgirl story than an interruption of one. Batman #13 has Batman fighting his way through the GCPD to confront Vandal Savage, but the detour into Bad Seeds largely puts Matt Fraction's ongoing Batman story on hold. There are entertaining moments of Batman tearing through corrupt officers and demanding they do better for Gotham, but very little actually happens and the momentum from the previous issue's mystery is left waiting for the crossover to get out of the way. JSA #23 jumps into the largely unexplored years after the Justice Society was forced out of public life, with Wildcat, Hourman and Doctor Mid-Nite recruited for a secret Cold War mission behind enemy lines. The period setting and espionage premise immediately feel like a natural fit for the JSA, delivering one of the strongest issues of the run just as the series is approaching its end. 100 Bullets: The U.S. of Anger #3 remains frustratingly difficult to decipher three issues in, even for Rocky as a reader of the original 100 Bullets. The anger and division suggested by the title are certainly present, and the two hate-spewing podcasters provide one of the issue's more recognizable ideas, but neither Jace nor Rocky can determine what Brian Azzarello ultimately wants the story to say. Absolute Green Lantern #18 sees Simon Baz and Agent Zero finally escape the strange space where they have both been trapped and emerge in front of Cameron Chase, who appears to know exactly what has been happening. After eighteen issues of deliberately opaque mythology surrounding the Absolute Spectrum, Manhunters and its different colors and concepts, Chase's promise that "now we get the answers" offers the clearest indication yet that the series may finally start bringing its mysteries together. Absolute Superman #23 brings Superman's relentless pursuit of Brainiac into conflict with Toyman and forces his absolute belief in the sanctity of life into one of its most difficult tests yet. Jason Aaron continues pushing a young Superman who believes he must save absolutely everyone, suggesting that his refusal to accept his own limitations may eventually become as dangerous to him as any villain he faces. Batman/Superman: World's Finest — World's Weirdest #1 pulls Batman and Superman into the wonderfully bizarre world of Weird Al Yankovic in a whimsical story built around a surprisingly sincere message: be yourself, be true to yourself and embrace whatever makes you weird. It's far more fantastical than the type of story Jace usually gravitates toward, but the humor, artwork and genuine Weird Al sensibility make the concept work. Legion of Super-Heroes #1 begins with R.J. Brande's dream of bringing young heroes from across the galaxy together surviving his apparent murder as Brainiac 5 and Matter-Eater Lad investigate what happened to him. Joshua Williamson and Hayden Sherman reinvent the Legion from the ground up while retaining recognizable pieces of its history, including Lightning Lad's love of ancient Superboy comics, and use the mystery surrounding Brande to begin bringing this new generation together. Supergirl: Survived #4 has Kara and a young Kal-El spending much of the issue discovering what their Kryptonian powers can do beneath a yellow sun before encountering Brainiac 5, who may provide the means to finally continue their journey toward Earth. The story is heavily decompressed, but the relationship between Kara and Kal remains its strength while the increasingly unexpected assortment of DC concepts continues giving the series its own identity. Teen Titans #1 finds Jason Todd's search for a child missing for nine days colliding with a group of young heroes conducting their own investigation into their missing friend. Proximity, Fair Play, Cheshire Cat, Wild Card and Eugene Choi aren't actually a superhero team yet—the name Teen Titans began as little more than their online group chat—but their unlikely connection with Jason creates a distinctly modern starting point for Kyle Higgins' new take on the concept. Deadman #4 sends Boston Brand toward Heaven demanding answers about why the souls he has been helping aren't necessarily destined to stay there, only to receive an unexpected lesson about the value of giving someone even a brief moment of hope. The idea gives Deadman a renewed sense of purpose, but neither Jace nor Rocky feels the philosophical detour has enough to say to justify how far the series has moved from the character they know. Doom Patrol #1 introduces a broke Doom Patrol wandering from place to place taking whatever work they can get, including a seemingly mundane job searching for a missing cat. The bizarre visuals certainly fit the team's reputation for weirdness, but the story offers little sense of direction or connection to the previous Doom Patrol run, leaving both Jace and Rocky disappointed by an opening issue that feels far less interesting than its characters should be. Finally, Superman: The Stranger #1 drops Superman into a Black Label world reminiscent of Depression-era America, delivering a visually striking reinterpretation whose gritty setting immediately distinguishes it from the main DC Universe. The artwork is the issue's greatest strength, while the story itself feels familiar enough that Jace is waiting to see whether Wes Craig can push the concept somewhere more original as the series develops. Hello Lantern Corps!  The action this week was between two towns instead of time periods. We had some mysteries answered but more questions raised. Join us as we cover Lanterns "Trust Fall." Hal rudely awakens Jon for a flying lesson.  The instructions are fly. John does not even move. But he creates a live bird construct from the ring. Hal has already booked him a plane ticket to Coast City to pick up the Lantern to charge the ring up. So all he really wanted to do was get John out of town. With John gone, he heads to main street finding everyone in a town hall. After a disagreement with Sheriff Kane, and a request to leave town from his lawyer, he heads to the morgue. He steals all the alien bodies.  He has found out that the metal detectors are really alien detectors. He does not listen to Sheriff Kane and questions Will about the tech and targeting aliens. He is told to leave town, but refuses and gets shot. He is taken to the hospital and questioned by Kerry after he wakes up from surgery. The hospital is brand new and has no other people there being treated. John is followed to Coast City and to Hal's mansion. A rich guy gave it to him for saving his son, but it is barely lived in. John recovers the lantern from the pocket dimension and feeds John's alien plant Earl. But he is kidnapped by the aliens. They are led by Antaan or is it Atrocitus the future Red Lantern. Their planet was devastated by Manhunters. Manhunters are shapeshifting robots made by the Guardians. After they failed, the Guardians moved to create the Lantern Corps. The aliens are in town because they believe Abin Sur had a Manhunter with him when he crashed. The believe he is hiding in town. They give John an ultimatum, let them know the identity of the Manhunter or they blow up the town. John reports all this to Hal. He also still has his bird construct with him. A feat that takes a lot of will power. Hal files to the Lantern prison to ask rebel Green Lantern, Sinestro, about the Manhunters. Season four adapts Lee Child's Gone Tomorrow and drops Reacher into an increasingly tangled political and intelligence conspiracy. Episode Summary After a misunderstanding turns Reacher into Philadelphia's most wanted man, he spends much of the episode doing what Reacher does best: escaping situations that should probably be impossible to escape. Meanwhile, Jacob, Tamara, and Plum recover the flash drive Anna mailed before her death, along with her phone, but their attempt to finally get some answers turns into a violent confrontation with Lila and Amisha. Jacob gets his first genuine opportunity to strike back at the people responsible for his sister's death. The recovered evidence also starts bringing the larger conspiracy into focus. A photograph connects Congressman Sampson to a disgraced Indonesian general, but Reacher suspects another person in the image may actually be more important to the mystery. Anna's phone also gives the group stronger evidence tying Lila directly to the killings. By the end, Reacher and Tamara's investigation leads them toward another confrontation while Jacob is taken hostage, leaving Tamara with a pretty awful decision to make. And this one definitely supports the subtitle vibe we were talking about: there's plenty of entertaining Reacher insanity here, but the season is getting increasingly dependent on everyone accepting some wildly convenient and increasingly ridiculous shit to keep the plot moving. Kevin Feige also announced that Avengers: Endgame returns to theaters September 25 with new footage connecting it to Doomsday ahead of its December 18 release.Ryan Gosling took the stage as Marvel's new Ghost Rider, set to star as Johnny Blaze in a 2028 film to be directed by Shawn Levy. Gosling told the crowd, “this is a character I've wanted to play for a very long time.”Ryan Coogler revealed a December 15, 2028 release date for Black Panther 3 and introduced David Jonsson as a grown-up T'Challa II, the son of T'Challa first glimpsed at the end of Wakanda Forever. Nice House by the Sea #9 deepens the contrast between Walter's and Max's houses, raises questions about whether the destruction of Earth is even real, and continues exploring the changing dynamics between the people chosen to survive. Green Lantern Corps #15 focuses on John Stewart confronting Parallax and his past with help from Soranik Natu, while the Manhunters turn Aya's apparent victory into a trap by taking over her body. Action Comics #1097 follows Booster Gold, Martian Manhunter, and Mary Marvel traveling back to Superboy's era as Epoch steals the rocket that brought Kal-El to Earth. Supergirl #12 centers on Kara waking up in Kandor as a cybernetic Supergirl after being badly injured, with Black Flame's rebellion, the city's secrets, and Team Thunder all adding to the conflict. Emperor Aquaman is discussed with Arthur continuing to establish himself as "Emperor of the Blue" by setting up lighthouses across the universe, gaining King Shark's allegiance following his DC KO vision, and fulfilling a prophecy on another world by freeing a parasite-controlled race. Absolute Green Lantern #13 shifts to Ran, introducing Rack Shade, the M Zone, Professor Sardin, Alana, and Emily Hawk as the mythology around the Black Stars and the Controller of Mu continues to expand.
