You know what? It's been a minute since the last time we attempted to save the DC Cinematic Universe. That said, it's only been about three weeks since the last time we "made a series like Disney Plus's Loki." Well, for some reason, we've decided to recapture both of the aforementioned magics and save the DC Cinematic Universe with a series like Disney Plus's Loki! This week we're asking the simple question, "Which DC Villain should lead their own limited run series that isn't Peacemaker or Harley Quinn?" Andrew threw all of his creativity out the window for this episode and that's all we'll say about that. Matt speaks to the primal urge of man that is de-handling panhandles. We also finally gave Kyle the email log in so he can see the show notes! The title of this week's episode was selected by our Patrons in our Discord Community! If you begrudgingly answered yes to any of those questions, check out our sister show, Avenge This! where ever you get your podcasts! Properties we talked about this week: Loki, Aquaman, Black Manta, Weather Wizard, The Flash, Bizzaro, Superman Legacy, Twister, I guess technically I have to say Glee Music for Debate This! is provided by composer Ozzed under a Creative Commons license. Adventure Comics #450 (1977)In our last book of the year, we take a look at something from Aquaman's ADVENTURE COMICS run where a crippling tragedy DIDN'T happen. Here, Arthur takes on the Weather Wizard, who has stolen a secret government sex toy that will help him defeat The Flash. A bunch of nonsense happens in the Bermuda Triangle and we ultimately conclude that an octopus makes a terrible babysitter. We also have a short back-up story with Martian Manhunter avenging the death of his muppet friend. Apparently, the murderer was an Earth human and J'onn runs afoul of Supergirl, who fights him off in various sexy poses. This is a surprisingly erotic book. Also, heads up on slight THE MATRIX: RESURRECTIONS spoilers.Continue the conversation with Shawn and Jen on Twitter @angryheroshawn and @JenStansfield and email the show at worstcollectionever@gmail.com

The Rundown In this episode, we spend a little time under a virtual umbrella with Harrowsmith's go-to weatherman, Mark Sirois. Mark's been doing long-range forecasting for the Harrowsmith Almanac and extreme weather prediction for Southern Quebec for years. Now a modern home weather station has empowered him to think big and broad. Next up Alberta farmer Leona Staples on how entrepreneurship and innovation have kept her farm alive and adapting for generations.  Mark Sirois and Predicting Weather By day Mark Sirois is a Quebec-based senior manager for IBM Canada. But his five-to-nine side hustle is predicting extreme weather for Southern Quebec. And, he also does long-range forecasting for all of Canada for the Harrowsmith Almanac. The self-taught meteorologist started prognosticating when he was a teenager with just a weather radio and an atlas. But, as he explains in this interview, the advent of high-tech, no-moving-parts weather stations has completely changed the game for him and he's ready to up his game.  Leona Staples and Jungle Farm Leona Staples' great grandfather, Jacob Daniel Quantz was a homesteader in late 1800 Alberta. Staples and her forebearers have kept that farm alive but in a form that Quantz would hardly recognize. A combination of Staples' love of home economics education and entrepreneurship has allowed her to reimagine the Quantz farm into a Jungle Farm that's become a family and school trip destination. I talked to her about how she managed that transformation. End Notes Want more Harrowsmith? No problem. Visit our website. Or you can check out Harrowsmith Magazine on selected newsstands across Canada or you can order subscriptions online at harrowsmithmag.com. By the way, the music in the podcast? It's by good ol' Canadian singer, composer, and friend of the 'cast, David Archibald. You can find more of his music at his website, davidarchibald.com.

Barry Allen and Wally West continue their groundbreaking adventures as they travel through time and battle epic villains like Captain Boomerang for the first time and a team up with the Green Lantern.Affiliate link included.Transcript:Graham: The Flash is tied to a giant boomerang, twice and Kid Flash travels back to pre-historic times, twice. We'll talk about it, straight ahead in The Flash: The Silver Age Volume 2.Announcer:Welcome to the Classy Comics podcast where we search for the best comics in the universe. From Boise Idaho, here is your host Adam Graham.Graham:As I discussed in a previous episode after many of the great superhero franchises of the Golden Age flamed out in the late 40s and early 50s, Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman remain the really only consistent games in town when it came to superheroes. However, that changed when D.C. introduced Barry Allen as the Flash in Showcase number 4. The Flash was successful and with the Scarlet Speedster's success, many more superheroes would be added to the roster of the D.C. Universe. To understand what made the Flash successful, it's important to understand what the Flash didn't have. There wasn't great characterization or much characterization at all. That would be something really that Marvel would bring to superheroes with the emergence of the Fantastic Four and Spider-Man later on in the 1960s. What the Flash brought was mind-blowing imagination, when it came to the use of the Flash's super speed as well as the rogues he fought. In fact, the colorful rogues of the Flash, Captain Cold, Mirror Master, Weather Wizard and the Prankster, remain popular to this day and they were really cranked out in the early years of the Flash's comeback. The Flash: The Silver Age Volume 2, comes after the Flash's initial three trial appearances and his first thirteen issues have introduced so much but there's even more that gets introduced in this volume and we're going to discuss it. This particular volume collects issues 117 to 132. I won't try and cover everything in this book. It's a 400-page book plus, unlike say a modern comic where you have plots that take place over multiple issues, these are all self-contained or in many cases, they are two stories in a single issue so I won't try and cover everything. I will say that these are pretty lengthy issues when you take a look at them. Generally you're looking at about 23 to 25 pages, which is a good length for the early Silver Age books. They get a lot shorter during the Bronze Age. The first big milestone comes in issue 117 of the Flash, the first issue collected in this book and it introduces Captain Boomerang. The story begins when a corporate honcho has the idea that his company could make a really big trend out of selling boomerangs, as yo-yos had recently been a big deal and they need to hire someone who is experienced throwing the boomerang. And so our villain is hired and uses the name Captain Boomerang. That's part of the plan and instead of taking this cushy corporate job, it'll be like being the Marlboro Man. With plenty money coming his way, he instead turns to a life of crime using incredibly clever boomerangs in order to commit his crimes.Flash actually thinks he's spotted Captain Boomerang at the scene of a crime but Captain Boomerang convinces him that he's innocent and that it would do harm to his elderly parents, who aren't his parents but two actors playing them and gets the Flash to go away but realizes he has to get rid of the Flash and how is he going to do that? He's going to tie him to a rocket-powered boomerang. Now when I asked my wife about this, she pointed out shouldn't a boomerang return back to where it was thrown and that's a good question. However, this time the Flash to a boomerang solution is actually used by ...

We're going to have really badass monsters.  We're going back to the crime and the city. When we come back to the city, ...there is a lot of street crime and the mobsters have really taken over the city Link:http://www.comicbookmovie.com/dc_tv/arrow/arrow-returning-to-street-crime-and-mobsters-in-season-5-a143879 Amell on “Olicity” and a New Team v. the Old Team in Season 5  (Date: 27 July 2016) "Oliver's most important relationship in the entire show is his relationship with Star City, and his objective to make it better than what it was and fulfill what his father asked him to do.  So Oliver and Felicity are very much team members at this point. She thinks that there should be a new team at the moment, and Oliver would like the old team to return. "It's an external threat from outside the shows that will involve Supergirl coming over to "The Flash," then "Arrow" then "Legends of Tomorrow." Link:http://www.comicbookresources.com/article/supergirl-common-thread-flash-arrow-legends-tomorrow-crossover Supergirl: New Superman costume unveiled and compared (Date: 28 Jul 2016) *The design aesthetics are very different. Cavill's suit is more "alien skin". Hoechlin's suit is more of a suit * Hoechlin's costume opts for the red "utility belt" design, pulled from the New 52 Comic book reboot of Superman (more on that later). Cavill's costume famously skipped over having a pronounced belt or red underwear * The logos on the costume are very different: Cavill's Kryptonian "hope" insignia was made with the same "alien" aesthetic as the rest of his costume, while Hoechlin's insignia is much more of the classic Dan Jurgens design. * The cape clasps are very different: Cavill's, again, runs seamlessly into his shoulders, like a hair extension, while Hoechlin clearly has clasps to hold his cape in place. Cavill's cape is a CGI creation; Hoechlin's is clearly leather (or some sort of similar material). Labs’ computer that would allow him to identify the frequency of Barry’s molecules so he can kill him. Barry triggers a trap set by Hartley, which starts shredding Barry’s organs. Dr. Wells taps into a satellite and sends an alternative frequency to disable Hartley’s weapons. Later, Joe has Eddie start an investigation into Dr. Wells. Hartley, imprisoned back in the particle accelerator, reveals to Cisco that he knows where Ronnie is and how to save him. Welcome back to The Flash Podcast! On this installment, Andy is joined by a former Flash Podcast guest, Dave Dellecese, long time Flash fan, journalist and writer of the digital comic book "Holidaze". Together they do a character spotlight on a big Flash villain: Weather Wizard! In the discussion, they focus on Mark Mardon's comic book history, both in the pre-52 and the New 52. We also speculate on how Weather Wizard will be portrayed on the new TV show, with the introduction of Clyde Mardon (Mark's brother) who will be played by the great Chad Rook in the pilot. Note: this episode was recorded before the premiere date was announced as well as the San Diego Comic-Con news.
