Price is the Voice Behind the Music. He goes on to say more about Debra, The paramount difference between a good recording artist and a truly great one, is the voice behind the music. This is particularly true of the remarkable & awe-inspiring life and career of the gospel recording artist, Debra M. Price. With 2 albums & 4 awards on her musical resume, & her acclaim as a speaker, Debra has proven the relevance & popularity of her music & her other skills before an audience. Because the voice behind Debra’s transcendent music, & the inspiration behind her speaking, is not hers alone. Debra has found it in her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, & as she often charmingly refers to Him — her Daddy GOD. Strong in the Lord, Debra believes, I Declare, I cast All my cares & concerns on The Greater One who lives inside of me for He Cares about me. I Cast doubt, fear, anger, fault finding & all past hurts on JESUS to be Dissolved & HEALED. I Receive Healing & Deliverance. Thank You, JESUS." What's up everyone!? I'm so excited to finally get to tell you about all the cool stuff I've been working on, not least of which is this massive 3.5 hour fully live mixed drum and bass podcast I've put together for you but we'll get there. First though, we've got a new podcast logo! Seventh year, it was about time. And along with the new logo, I've got some new social media stuff going. There is a new Twitter handle (@ActListMusic) and I've started an Instagram (@ActListMusic). Let's be clear that I am not a social media promotions expert. I really don't even think of these as promotional tools at all. I couldn't really care any less about promotion. I'm just constantly seeking the new and more effective ways to connect and communicate with you guys/gals as well as all those other music lovers out there. Also there's a web address www.activelistenermusic.com. Don't worry, the old site will still work for the next few years. Also, I got a bunch of business card printed out, so I am fully ready to make some new friends next week at SXSW. Speaking of SXSW, I have been putting in a ton of work checking out all the bands. I've been posting little gems I've found up on Twitter so you can check those out. If you're gonna be there, hit me up! I've listened to about 1600 bands so far. There are a set of genre sorted playlists of every band playing as well as another set of my picks (also genre sorted) up on Spotify. Follow ActiveListener on Spotify if you want in on that. Okay finally, now to the music at hand! Last year I made a New Year's resolution to run 500 miles. 10 miles a week may not seem like that much but try doing it when you work 12 hours a day, have three kids, and produce an awesome podcast. It's all about following through and in the end I accomplished my goal. In doing so, I listened to a ton of dnb, mostly thanks to Friction and his weekly 3 hour drum and bass show on BBC. Basically I was inundated with amazing drum and bass on the daily. This podcast is the collection of my favorites. And keeping it to only 59 tracks was actually a challenge. This is a three and a half hour mix that's slamming the whole way through. I've gone easy on the talking and heavy on the mixing. Yeah the mixing maybe sketching a few spots but whatever, I'm no DJ. With my schedule I either practice or record the podcast. I don't have time for both. It was challenging enough to even find the time to just record for four hours. I was up till almost 2am recording this and it was a school night! Waking up at 5am for work was rough but I did it for you! Be sure to check out the massive tracklist below. As always each track is a link to buy the music so bust out your wallets and fork over a couple bucks to help keep these tunes coming! I really hope you all have as much fun blasting this music as I have. Pretty fitting podcast on approximately the 10th anniversary of me getting into the genre.
